Charlotte Dawson shares newborn daughter’s adorable name as she ‘dreamt of this moment for so long’

Reality TV star Charlotte Dawson has proudly revealed her newborn daughter’s name to the world, just hours after officially welcoming the youngster with partner Matthew Sarsfield. The 32 year old mum of three, welcomed the latest addition to the family on Saturday, and is already the proud mum to sons Noah, four, and Jude, 18 months.

Charlotte documented her labour on social media throughout Saturday, with everything from her favourite snacks to words of encouragement having made it into the public sphere, before her little one safely arrived. Yet it wasn’t until Sunday evening that Charlotte and Matthew confirmed the little one’s name, as they posted a series of snaps of their adorable baby girl alongside her new moniker: Gigi Dawson Sarsfield.

So what exactly does Gigi mean and where does it originate?

According to BabyCentre, Gigi is the “short form of Georgina, a feminine form of George, which originally comes from the Greek name Georgios, from georgos, meaning “farmer, earthworker”, which is from ge, meaning “earth” and ergon, meaning “work” “

The name has been steadily rising in popularity in recent years, likely thanks to stars such as supermodel Gigi Hadid and Cynthia Rowley’s daughter both sharing the adorable name.

Charlotte announced back in September that she was having a little girl, admitting it was “finally” time after always longing for a daughter. She shares sons Noah and Jude with Matt, both regulars on Charlotte’s social feeds. Last month, the Love Squad star shared that she was “struggling” during the final stages of her pregnancy.

At the time, she told her followers on Instagram : “I’m going to miss my coffee, brew, and food holder, but I am struggling right now. She’s lying on my bladder, and I feel like she’s coming every minute. ” After tagging her glam team in the post, she joked, “At least if she comes this weekend, I look a bit glowy. “

Littler beats home hope De Decker to defend Belgian title

World champion Luke Littler denied local favourite Mike de Decker to defend his title at the Belgian Open.

Littler won last year’s event while making his European Tour debut in Wieze, and the 18-year-old made it back-to-back wins with an 8-5 triumph over De Decker in the final.

The world number two saw off Luke Woodhouse (6-4) and Dave Chisnall (6-4) on Sunday before beating 14th seed James Wade (7-3) in the semi-finals.

That set up a meeting with world number 21 De Decker, who had made a thrilling run to the final at his home event having not previously been beyond the last eight of a European Tour event.

The 29-year-old Belgian had dumped out world number one Luke Humphries in the second round on Saturday, and continued that form by beating Martin Schindler (6-3) and former world champion Gerwyn Price (6-4) on Sunday.

De Decker came back from 6-4 down to edge a 7-6 win over Ross Smith in the semi-finals and fell 3-1 down against Littler, who won his first UK Open title last weekend and night five of the Premier League on Thursday.

The teenager managed to stay clear, going into a 7-3 lead, and although De Decker briefly threatened another fightback, Littler ultimately proved too strong.

After averaging 94.36 in Saturday’s second-round win over Ryan Searle, Littler topped 100 in all four of Sunday’s wins, with 102.87 in the final compared to De Decker’s 92.25.

Arnold Palmer Invitational: Final leaderboard

-11 R Henley (US), -10 C Morikawa (US), -9 C Conners (Can), -8 M Kim (US), -7 K Bradley (US), S Straka (Aut), -6 S Lowry (Ire), -5 B An (Kor), J Rose (Eng), J Day (Aus)

Russell Henley chipped in for an eagle with two holes to play to pip Collin Morikawa to the biggest title of his career at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The American shot a two-under-par final round of 70 to finish on 11 under at Bay Hill in Orlando, with compatriot Morikawa one stroke back.

Henley was two over through 10 holes before birdies on the 12th and 14th brought him back into contention.

He trailed Morikawa by one shot before his eagle chip from just off the 16th green moved him clear of the two-time major champion, who then missed a birdie putt.

“Hats off to Collin, he played great, super-steady, but sometimes golf is just mean like that”, Henley, 35, told CBS.

“I was so nervous, so unbelievably nervous. I can’t breathe right now. It’s so hard and so difficult around this place.

” I just tried to stay really tough. I’ve watched Tiger]Woods] make a lot of putts on this green. I’ve watched Rory]McIlroy], Fran]Francesco Molinari] and Bryson]DeChambeau] make winning putts here, and it’s cool to know I did it too. “

The victory was his first since the 2022 World Wide Technology Championship, his fifth on the PGA Tour and his first at a signature event.

Canada’s Corey Conners placed third on nine under, qualifying him for the Open at Royal Portrush, with American Michael Kim fourth, one shot behind.

His compatriot Keegan Bradley had recorded the lowest front-nine score in course history at seven-under 29, but finished on 64 – tied for fifth with Austria’s Sepp Straka.

Russia claims new gains; Zelenskyy says ‘committed’ to dialogue with US

Moscow says it has made new gains in Ukraine’s Sumy region and Russia’s Kursk region as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was “fully committed” to having a constructive dialogue with United States representatives ahead of talks in Saudi Arabia to discuss how to end Russia’s war on Ukraine.

US and Ukrainian negotiators are set to meet for talks in&nbsp, the Red Sea city of Jeddah&nbsp, on Tuesday, with US President Donald Trump’s administration vying to secure a ceasefire and a “framework” for a peace agreement.

Despite the upcoming talks, the Russian Ministry of Defence said in a briefing that its forces had “liberated” the small village of Novenke in Sumy near the border with Kursk. Moscow also announced the recapture of the villages of Lebedevka, Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye and Kositsa in Kursk.

Russia briefly occupied parts of Ukraine’s Sumy at the start of its all-out invasion in 2022 but has not taken any territory there since.

Kyiv has not yet commented on Russia’s claim to have captured Novenke, which analysts say could bring Russian troops closer to blocking a major Ukrainian supply route.

Zelenskyy said in his evening address on Sunday: “I want to thank all our units who are steadfastly and against all odds destroying the occupier, repelling attacks and defending our positions.

” Diplomacy will be strong only on strong front-line positions. And we are doing our best to ensure that Ukraine’s front-line needs are met. “

Who’s meeting who

The US cut off Ukraine’s access to intelligence sharing and satellite data, as well as aid – following a White House public spat with Zelenskyy – in a bid to force Kyiv to negotiate an end to Russia’s invasion – Europe’s biggest conflict since World War II.

Zelenskyy invited Trump’s wrath for rejecting a mineral deal, which the Ukrainian president says should involve a US security guarantee. But the Trump administration has refused to commit to that and instead asked Europe to step up aid for the war-battered country.

European leaders have, meanwhile, agreed to boost defence spending as they pledged support to Ukraine against Russian threats. Washington has also poured cold water over Ukraine’s NATO ambitions.

Zelenskyy confirmed on Saturday that he would visit Saudi Arabia next week and that after meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, Ukrainian diplomatic and military representatives would stay for a meeting on Tuesday with the US.

” Ukraine has been seeking peace from the very first second of this war. Realistic proposals are on the table. The key is to move quickly and effectively, “the Ukrainian president said on X.

US envoy Steve Witkoff, meanwhile, confirmed last week that he would meet Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, signalling that he would discuss an” initial ceasefire “and a” framework “for a longer agreement.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will also visit Saudi Arabia between March 10 and 12 for talks with Ukrainian counterparts, a statement from the US Department of State said.

He will also hold talks with Prince Mohammed to discuss regional issues and ways to bolster US-Saudi Arabian ties, the State Department said.

Rubio spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Friday and said Trump wanted to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible.
