Home Alone 3 Alex star totally unrecognisable in 9-5 job after quitting Hollywood

In 1997, Alex D. Linz landed the role that every child actor dreamed, but his career soon changed as he soon assumed the lead role in the third Home Alone film.

There are tough acts to follow, and then there are tough acts to follow.

And Alex D. Linz had to follow the most difficult act of the entire film franchise.

Alex Pruitt, who played Alex Pruitt in the 1997 family comedy Home Alone 3, may be best known to movie fans. Since Kevin McCallister, who was portrayed by Macaulay Culkin, who was the most well-known actor in the lead role, he was the first actor to do so in a Home Alone film.

To be fair to Alex, he delivered a charismatic performance, bringing his own cheeky charm to the role of an eight-year-old tech-savvy kid who must protect his home from a gang of criminals. More than enough evidence supported his promising acting career.

However, he chose to leave Hollywood when he was in his teens and instead chose a more ordinary life and career.

He is now 36, and it’s not just because he’s a quarter or a century older. The distinctive pudding bowl haircut and chubby cheeks are no longer present. He also has a beard, glasses, and a shorter, messy hairstyle these days.

At the age of six, Alex made his acting debut in a scene from the sitcom Cybill. He is from Santa Barbara, California. Before taking up a bigger role in the romantic comedy One Fine Day, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney, he had a few other minor roles in movies, including The Cable Guy and The Siege at Ruby Ridge.

But his big break was in 1997 when he was cast as Alex in the third season of Home Alone. There were high hopes for the third instalment, which featured an all-new cast and family, because the first two movies in the franchise had one of the highest-grossing family movies of all time.

Unfortunately, the movie only received a mediocre reception as fans long for the McCallister clan of the past. Despite not being a box office hit, the first two movies were a bit of a flop.

After the film’s release, Alex continued to act, playing the voice for young Tarzan in animated Disney films, as well as in Bruno and Max Keeble’s Big Move, a 2001 box office hit. He also appeared on television programs like Providence and ER.

His acting career was essentially over by 2007. He tried his hand at music while attending the Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, playing in the garage band The Fez Armada.

After graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he then enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his studies in 2017 and went on to pursue a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at the University of California.

Woeful Wolves on course for lowest Christmas points tally

Images courtesy of Getty

If you are a fan of Wolves, it is undoubtedly not the season to enjoy.

No league victories have been recorded this season, no points have been recorded since October, and no goals have been scored in any of their previous five games.

Yerson Mosquera is the only Wolves player to score since the start of November, and that was in the 3-0 defeat at Fulham.

Wolves have lost all 14 of their first 14 games in the first season since 1983-84, which is their longest without a goal since their debut Premier League campaign in 2003.

Wolves now have just two points from 14 matches this season, the lowest total for any top-flight season, following Wednesday’s home defeat at Nottingham Forest.

If Wolves lose to Manchester United on Monday for the eighth time in a row, it would end the club’s worst-ever run and put them in the bottom place at Christmas.

It has been difficult to find goals, which is surprising given that two of Wolves’ three top scorers from last season, Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, have left, and Jorgen Strand Larsen is struggling with form and fitness.

However, there are three Premier League teams this season with lower expected goals totals (xG) than Wolves’ 12.74.

However, those three teams have all outperformed their xG, and Wolves are finding it difficult to capitalize on the few chances they are making.

They have scored seven times in the top flight so far, which is under par with any other top-flight team (-5.74).

The end result is that no team has scored more than one league goal in December, making it the first time in Premier League history.

Although he has only managed three games since leaving Middlesbrough, Edwards already appears to be acknowledging that his players are playing for pride and that the Wolves’ campaign is a lost cause.

After Wolves lost to Forest for the 12th time in 14 league games, he said, “It looked bleak when I arrived.”

“We cannot influence what happens elsewhere,” the statement reads. We can influence what we can do, but we didn’t do it tonight. That’s not how we want to pass away.

We don’t want to leave with a whimper, according to the statement, “We don’t want to go out with a whimper.”

In order for some undesirable records to be discovered, including the lows of Derby’s infamous 2007-08 campaign, his players must take note of this.

In the worst season in the history of Europe’s top five leagues, the Rams were sent out of the Premier League with just 11 points.

Over the course of the entire 38-game campaign, Derby’s total tally was only 0.29 points per game.

Wolves are currently averaging 0.14 points per game, compared to just over a third of the season’s end.

Ex-Salford winger Caton-Brown bids for club

Mason Caton-Brown, a former Red Devils of Salford winger, has made a consortium bid to acquire the organization.

On Wednesday, Salford were ordered to file for bankruptcy after 152 years at the High Court for outstanding debts.

Chris Irwin, the former club’s former CEO, announced later on Wednesday that he is attempting to salvage the club from bankruptcy with his own consortium.

The Rugby Football League (RFL) has received a request from Caton-Brown as part of The Phoenix Bid consortium to run a Salford-based team at CorpAcq Stadium.

The 32-year-old made 32 Salford appearances between 2014 and 2016 and said, “This isn’t just about rebuilding a club; it’s about rebuilding belief.”

Malcolm Crompton, a former chairman of the Forever Reds Supporters Trust, businessman Paul Hancock, and Ashley Washington, a local tech entrepreneur, join him in his bid.

The Phoenix Bid claimed on Thursday that Salford City Council and The Phoenix Bid had “dialogued positively” about the CorpAcq Stadium’s use.

Following the RFL board meeting on Thursday morning, at which time the Red Devils of Salford’ official league membership was officially terminated, their bid was announced.

Norris ‘not going to ask’ Piastri for title help

Lando Norris claims there is no way for him to ask teammate Oscar Piastri to let him pass in order for him to claim the drivers’ championship.

Prior to the season finale in Abu Dhabi this weekend, Norris, 26, leads Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by 12 points and Piastri by 16 points.

With 25 points available for a race win and 18 for second place, all three are in contention for the title.

The Briton must place fourth in Verstappen’s podium to be certain of winning his first F1 championship, but he would lose out if he won’t, for example, finish in fourth place in the race at Yas Marina.

Verstappen and Piastri could ask McLaren to let Norris overtake if Piastri was running higher than them in second or third place.

When asked about potential team orders, Norris responded, “It’s not really up to me and I’m not going to ask it.”

Because I don’t believe it to be a fair question, I don’t want to ask it.

Given that the 24-year-old needs to win on Sunday and that Norris must finish sixth or lower, Piastri is now the outsider.

Piastri, who was back in form in Qatar and should have won the race, said that because of a poor strategy call from McLaren, “it’s not something we have discussed.”

I don’t really have an answer until I know what’s kind of expected.

Norris claimed that he would be willing to let his team-mate go if the roles were reversed and Piastri sought assistance in the decider.

I believe I would, simply because I believe I always feel that way. He said, “That’s exactly how I am.”

After retiring at the end of August, Norris was 34 points adrift of Piastri. However, victories in Monza, Singapore, and Austin, as well as back-to-back victories in Mexico and Brazil, helped him regain control of the championship heading into the final few races.

He hopes to become the 11th British Formula One driver to win the title.

After finishing second at his home grand prix in the Netherlands, the Dutchman was 104 points clear of Piastri, but he has since won five races, most recently in Doha, in the absence of the second-place finish.

Verstappen’s best chance to win in Abu Dhabi and Norris’ place-finishing would be his best chance to triumph.

Verstappen, who has won five consecutive drivers’ titles, will be in the title fight if he wins the title in Abu Dhabi, joked Verstappen, who had anticipated being in the fight.

“Everything was canceled after Zandvoort,” said one user. In Africa, my dad is demonstrating. The dogs make my mother happy.

“Of course, they always support me, and my mother always lights a candle before each race weekend. But I suppose they have faith in their son.

If Verstappen wins over him and Piastri, Norris said, “We look forward to the following year.”

Tunisia arrests top opposition leader Nejib Chebbi in widening crackdown

As a crackdown on opposition leaders in Tunisia, which was once a beacon of young democracy in the years following the Arab Spring, grows, according to his family, Tunisian police have taken Ahmed Nejib Chebi’s arrest.

On Thursday, Chebbi was detained at his home days after receiving a 12-year sentence for plotting against the government in a trial that human rights organizations called “sham” and politically motivated.

The 81-year-old’s daughter claimed police had removed him from their home in a Facebook post.

The arrest was confirmed by his attorney, Amine Bouker, who claimed Tunisia’s “political scene has become frightful.”

Chebbi, one of the co-founders of the nation’s main opposition coalition, the National Salvation Front (FSN), is one of several opposition figures, attorneys, and rights advocates who have been subject to recent arrests and prosecution.

One of Saied’s most prominent critics, who seized a sweeping power in 2021, more than a decade after Tunisia overran Zine El Abidine Ben Ali during the Arab Spring uprisings, is he?

Since then, rights organizations have criticized the president for overseeing a profound rollback of freedoms.

In the so-called “conspiracy case,” dozens of opposition figures received sentences last week that could lead to up to 45 years in prison.

A rights activist and lawyer Ayachi Hammami was detained on Tuesday in response to Chaima Issa’s Saturday arrest. During the trial, they were each sentenced to five and twenty years in prison.

In an interview with Al Jazeera Arabic, Chebbi blasted the verdict against him as “unjust” and with “no legal basis.”

Chebbi claimed that he and other opposition figures who had been ensnared in the crackdown had not broken any laws. Additionally, he criticised the nation’s legal system.

He claimed that there are no judges in place. We have employees who are used to exact revenge on political opponents under the leadership of the political authorities.

On November 7, 2025, Tunisians protested and demanded the release of Tunisian opposition figure Jawhar Ben Mbarek.

Unjustified deeds are the definition.

The case has been described as a “sham trial” that has been the target of numerous human rights violations by Amnesty International.

After the appeal court’s verdict, political activists Chaima Issa, Ahmed Nejib Chebi, and Ayachi Hammami, both of whom have been found guilty, are now facing an “imminent and arbitrary risk of arrest,” according to Sara Hashash, Amnesty’s deputy regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, in a statement last week.

Detainees held “solely for exercising their human rights” must be immediately released, according to her. “The Tunisian authorities must immediately overturn the unfair convictions and sentences against all defendants in the “corruption case.”

The European Parliament urged Tunisia to release “all those detained for exercising their right to freedom of expression, including political prisoners and human rights defenders,” according to a vote taken last week.

Saied, however, criticized the resolution as “blatant interference,” claiming that the European Union could “learn lessons about rights and freedoms from us.”

The National Salvation Front, the coalition Chebbi cofounded, claimed in a statement that the Tunisian government was carrying out a “campaign of political “extermination” against their political opponents following the sentences being handed down last week.

The coalition claimed that the decision to issue the verdicts without interrogations or hearings was a result of the authorities’ concern about exposing the truth and false information and that the trial’s sole goal was to criminalize political activism and remove political figures whose names and credentials have been cited in opposition political activism.
