Shona McGarty placed third in I’m A Celeb as final two battle for crown

Shona McGarty has officially left the I’m A Celeb camp and finished in third place following rapper Aitch who left last night. The last three remaining celebs included EastEnders’ Shona McGarty, Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson and social media star Angry Ginge.

Fans were gutted to see the star leave as one person wrote online: “Shona 3rd???? im a celeb you shock me once again”, while another added: “Shona should have won”. A third penned: “Gutted for Shona. I have a feeling Tom is going to take the crown. He has been the dark horse”.

During the extra-long final episode on Sunday evening, Shona, Ginge and Tom took part in their own final Bushtucker trial in order to win a starter, main course, dessert and drink for their Jungle Banquet.

At the start of the episode the trio met presenters Ant & Dec at the Bushtucker Trial clearing where Shona went first and taking on the trial Rat Race in order to win all three starters for the group and a drink of her choice in a banquet later in the evening. She was strapped down inside a tight confined box and had to remove four stars using only her mouth with eight minutes to do so.

Taking it in her stride and using her tongue to release four stars, she was joined by rats, cockroaches, crickets and mealworms. She scored 4/4 stars meaning three starters and a drink of her choice. Het campmates cheered her on throughout and offered support where they could.

Next up was Tom who took on Bushtucker Bonanza – an eating trial. As he took a seat at a huge dining table he had to eat four dishes to win three main courses for camp and a drink of his choice.

His first dish was a fermented duck egg and scorpion, and in a show first, Tom put the entire fermented duck egg in his mouth at once as a shocked Ant said “Oh! We’ve never had that! 25 years and no one’s ever popped it in whole.”

His second dish which was brand new for 2025 was camel’s brain, this third dish was a pig’s vagina and lastly his fourth dish was a huntsman spider. He successfully finished all four dishes, successfully winning four main courses and his drink of choice.

Lastly, Ginge took on Helmets of Hell, where he had to put his head into four helmets one at a time, whilst putting his hand in the four boxes below to release each star. He had two minutes to win each star.

For the first star, in the helmet he was joined by mealworms around his head, and toads in the hand box below. For the second star, he was joined by crickets and cockroaches in the helmet and lizards in the hand box. For the third star, he was joined by scorpions in the hand box and snakes in the head box. And finally, for his final star he was joined by rats in the handbox and his worst fear, spiders in the head box. He successfully got four out of four stars winning desserts and a drink of his choice for camp.

On cloud nine, the three celebrities headed back to camp knowing they’d be dining on a twelve star banquet that night.

‘Best boss & team in Palace history’ – but will it be a special season?

Fourth in the table, quality all over the pitch and a top manager – Crystal Palace are enjoying their best-ever Premier League campaign.

Marc Guehi’s late header secured a tight 2-1 victory away at Fulham on Sunday, moving the Eagles up into the Champions League places.

A yield of 26 points from their 15 opening matches is their highest tally at this point in a Premier League season and makes them serious contenders for a place in Europe’s top competition next year.

Eddie Nketiah, who opened the scoring at Craven Cottage on his 50th appearance for the club, said “the sky is the limit” if his side continue this rich vein of form while manager Oliver Glasner was quick to praise his team.

“I could mention many players but it was a huge team effort – that makes me very proud,” he said.

“That’s why we are where we are.”

But that praise comes just one week after Glasner openly criticised the club for their lack of summer investment following a 2-1 home defeat by Manchester United.

With his contract running out at the end of the season and uncertainty over the future of important players like Guehi and Adam Wharton, concerns remain behind the scenes at Selhurst Park.

‘Greatest manager in Palace history’

Glasner joined Palace in February 2024 following successful stints at Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 51-year-old has since guided Palace to back-to-back record points totals in the Premier League and led them to a first major trophy when they triumphed over Manchester City in the FA Cup last season.

That led to a first ever appearance in a major European competition – although it was downgraded from Europa League to Europa Conference League because of multi-club ownership rules – while they also beat league winners Liverpool to win the Community Shield.

Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports: “We are watching the best manager and the best team in Crystal Palace’s history.

“Those supporters could not have dreamed what would happen to their football club when that man came in.”

Selhurst Park has become one of the toughest places for teams to play with Palace unbeaten there in the league this season until defeat by United last weekend.

On the road, their form is arguably even better.

Since Glasner’s first game in charge in March 2024, only Arsenal (65), Liverpool (57) and Manchester City (55) have won more Premier League points away from home than Crystal Palace (52).

But the defeat by United prompted Glasner to criticise the club as he suggested the club-record £60m brought in by the sale of Eberechi Eze this summer has not been reinvested in the squad.

His side have lost all four league matches they have played after a midweek European match this season, suggesting squad depth and juggling the increased schedule demands has been a problem.

And Glasner was quick to point it out, saying the club had “thrown away” the chance to play an even better season by not spending in the summer.

“When he gets a result he doesn’t like, he is not shy in being outspoken about the board or the sporting director,” said Carragher.

‘Squad not big enough’ to manage schedule

It is clear Glasner is an ambitious manager.

It is perhaps also clear that he feels he is being held back by a lack of depth in the squad while he will hope his comments spark a flurry of January transfer window action.

Glasner’s contract is set to expire in June and the ambitions of the club and the manager will need to align quickly if the success they are currently enjoying is to continue.

“There’s a huge talking point around Glasner himself with his contract,” former Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given told BBC Sport.

“If you’re a director you’re trying to tie him down. The job he’s done is phenomenal – winning the FA Cup and Charity Shield and getting Palace into Europe. You couldn’t ask for any more.

“He was angry and upset after the United game as he felt he wasn’t backed in the summer. It will be interesting to see what happens in January and the summer and if they back him.”

Guehi’s contract runs out at the end of the season and interest from Liverpool in the England defender, who was close to a move away from Palace this summer, is only going to intensify given their defensive troubles.

Prolific playmaker Wharton is a man in demand with several clubs interested in his services.

Meanwhile, talented players like Ismaila Sarr, who is currently injured but will soon be heading to Afcon, and Jean-Philippe Mateta will certainly have dreams of playing Champions League football.

“The squad’s not big enough to rest players and it puts more strain on the Premier League games. Top six would be an unbelievable season but big clubs will be trying to do the same,” Given added.

Major EastEnders star axed after 18 months as BBC say ‘we wish him the best’

Roland Manookin arrived in EastEnders 18 months ago to lead a new branch of the Mitchell family but is now being axed from the soap as BBC say ‘we wish him the best’

An EastEnders actor is leaving Walford after just 18 months as he is axed by bosses in a shock move. Roland Manookin, who played Teddy Mitchell in the BBC soap, arrived alongside on-screen sons Elijah Holloway and Lewis Bridgeman but will now be leaving them.

He arrived to lead a new branch of the Mitchell family, but has now become the latest star to leave the show after new boss Ben Wadey took control earlier this year. A source said Rolans took a risk in the soap after a successful career in film and being known for roles in The Football Factory and Rise of the Footsoldier.

A source told The Sun: “Roland took a big risk agreeing to join EastEnders after his long and successful career in film. There was big hopes for the Mitchells being revitalised by the new family but things obviously changed for some reason and the material just wasn’t there for Teddy.”

They added: “Bosses made the decision that the character had run his course and that was that. It seems such a waste.”

A spokesperson from the soap also confirmed the news in a statement: “We can confirm Roland will be leaving EastEnders this year, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

The latest announcement follows a string of actors being axed from the show as Clair Norris, Matthew James Morrison and Micah Balfour were all also axed by bosses.

Bobby Brazier and Molly Rainford, who appeared on the latest Celebrity Race Across the World, also left the show after “mutual decisions after talks with bosses”, and Lacey Turner decided to leave the show on an extended break.

The BBC soap has also faced backlash after viewers criticised the return of Michelle Ryan as Zoe Slater after 20 years. Viewers said procedures ‘botched’ the return with a ‘dud’ storyline after it was long-awaited by fans.

The new changes to the soap also include an almighty flash-forward twist as an episode on New Year’s Day 2026 takes us a year into the future. We will see a glimpse of 2027, as well as major hints of all the big plots unfolding across the next 12 months from that day. Max Branning will take centre stage, as Jake Wood makes his comeback to the BBC soap.

Speaking about the big episode and what’s ahead, Executive Producer Ben Wadey teased the show first. He said: “For the first time in the show’s history, we’re going to be offering our viewers an entire flashforward episode set on New Year ’s Day 2027.

“2026 is going to be full of drama in Walford, especially for the Brannings, and the episode is sure to raise plenty of questions on how Max has got himself and his family into such predicaments, but all is not what it seems, so stay tuned for 2026 to find out how and why.”

Heartbroken Holly Hagan says she’s plagued with guilt over sister Darci’s death at 19

Former Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has opened up about her overwhelming guilt after the death of her 19-year-old sister Darci from a drugs overdose

Holly Hagan has said she feels “guilty” over the tragic death of her sister. The former Geordie Shore star recently lost her half-sister, Darci, who died in October at the age of 19 following an accidental drug overdose. The teenager passed away 48 hours after taking crystal MDMA.

Holly is expecting her second child with footballer husband Jacob Blyth, and has opened up about the devastation she feels at the loss. The reality TV star says she feels an overwhelming sense of guilt and regret that she did not warn her sister about the dangers of taking drugs the night she fatally overdosed at Warehouse Project in Manchester.

She told the Mail: “The grief I have for Darci is guilt. When good things are happening to me and the life I have been able to live, not that it hasn’t come with difficulties sometimes, but I have been so lucky overall.

“I have the perfect man, I have a child, I am pregnant, I got married, and I have been on the holidays. My life hadn’t even started at 19 and she doesn’t even have the chance to see any of it. Every event that she was a part of was mine.

“The guilt that the only thing she had was her prom. It breaks my heart because it’s not fair. What is the purpose? What’s the lesson in all of this?”

Holly also said that Darci “had a lot to live for” and that her biggest regret was “not messaging her that night” to tell her to be careful with the substances she was consuming. Darci had done drugs in the past but had never consumed MDMA in its crystal form.

She added: “Darci had a lot to live for, she had just passed her theory test, she was looking to get a little car, she said all she wanted to do was go to Starbucks and get a matcha and listen to her music, she worked as a cocktail waitress, which she loved.”

But Holly also admitted that she doesn’t know if there’s “anything she could have done to change anything.” She added: “She’s in a dark club and being naïve and not realising how much a quantity is because she’s never taken a version of this drug before, she has poured it into her drink.

“Her friend said there was still a lot left but if you have seen that drug before you know it comes in powder and there are rocks in there as well. What happened is possibly the bigger rocks had gone into her drink, and it still looked like there was a lot left in the bag, but it was enough for it to be an overdose.”

The two girls’ stepdad, John, had driven Darci and her best friend to Manchester for the night out. Holly and her son Alpha-Jax were planning to meet with John and Darci the next day.

Holly also shared how she knew something was drastically wrong when she was woken by a light knock at her door and discovered she had 130 missed calls on her phone, as her heart sank.

She said: “The first message I saw was in capital letters, saying, ‘We are with your sister, you need to get to Manchester Royal Infirmary right now, please call us back’, and that was at 2am. My whole body was in fight mode; I sat on the toilet shaking.”

Holly then shared her praise for the “phenomenal” care that the medical staff at the Manchester Royal Infirmary provided. She said the support could not have been better and that although it was “traumatic”, it was “so comforting” knowing she was “in the best hands.”
