I’m A Celeb star lands huge job on This Morning and it’s not Angry Ginge

A cast member from I’m A Celebrity, who previously worked as the receptionist for Celebs Go Dating, has now landed a job as an Agony Uncle with This Morning

A star from this year’s cast of I’m A Celebrity has already secured a major TV gig – and it’s not this year’s King of the Jungle Angry Ginge. Tom Read Wilson, who was previously best known as the charming receptionist on Celebs Go Dating, made his debut on This Morning today as the show’s official Agony Uncle.

Producers reportedly moved quickly to snap him up just days after he finished second in the ITV reality series. Every year, This Morning is known to offer a career-launching opportunity to a popular jungle star. Former I’m A Celeb champion Sam Thompson and past campmates Ferne McCann and Vicky Pattison even went on to become regulars on the daytime programme.

But this time, it was Tom who impressed the hosting team, despite AngryGinge’s win on Sunday night making him one of the most in-demand new personalities on TV.

Tom kicked off his new role by chatting with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about his memories of jungle life. Ben told him: “One of the things I’ve loved as well Tom, is in the camp, you certainly became a sort of a go-to Agony Uncle for quite a lot of your campmates.”

Tom admitted life in the jungle pushed him to open up, replying: “Well, I think Shona taught me hugely…be vulnerable, because we all are so vulnerable anyway here. And particularly where Shona was concerned, I think we sort of followed one another’s spiky graph.”

He admitted to having a similarly approachable personality on Celebs Go Dating, sharing: “It is I suppose, sort of my role too. I try to be a shoulder and a bosom if I can. And so it was nice to occupy that space in the jungle.”

Producers put his skills to the test immediately, bringing him back later in the show to give live advice to viewers. One caller, Dario, asked whether he should confess his crush to a work colleague at the office Christmas party.

Tom urged him not to wait until the drinks were flowing to start hinting at his feelings, adding: “Imagine what a delicious evening it could be. If you sow the seeds before, then it can be the most sumptuous evening. You don’t want it to be an in vino veritas affair.”

Cat and Ben were delighted with the segment, and Cat was quick to ask him: “Would you come back and do this again?” Tom didn’t hesitate to respond: “I would absolutely love to.”

Tom’s growing popularity is a far cry from the early days of his time in the jungle, where many viewers admitted they didn’t know who he was.

His eloquent way of speaking was also dubbed “posh” by fans, but he eventually won the audience over with his warmth and sense of humour.

During one of the show’s final episodes, he broke down in tears after admitting he was struggling with missing home. “I’m a wreck, sorry,” he told his co-stars, before explaining, “I think I’ve opened the floodgates a bit.” Kelly Brook comforted him, reassuring him it could be “a healing time”.

Despite entering the show as a late arrival, Tom finished as runner-up behind YouTuber AngryGinge, with EastEnders actress Shona McGarty placing third.

Kim Kardashian makes surprising career move after acting gig is brutally blasted by fans

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has pivoted into the world of gaming and will appear as a character in Fortnite from December 13 with over 25 customisable outfit variations and emotes

Reality TV sensation Kim Kardashian is set to make her debut as a playable character in the popular video game Fortnite.

The influencer and entrepreneur, 45, unveiled a collection of promotional artwork on X, showcasing her Fortnite appearance and the various outfit and hairstyle options, referred to as skins, which will be accessible to gamers from December 13.

As part of the Fortnite Icon Series, the partnership was revealed through a promotional video posted by the game on Instagram, featuring the Skims co-founder taking on various personas whilst a narrator described each scenario, stating: “Kim Kardashian is a mom, an entrepreneur, a fashion icon, a TV star and now she’s taking on Fortnite.”

The clip concluded with Kardashian looking directly at the camera and delivering the line, “What, like it’s hard?”, paying homage to the beloved movie Legally Blonde.

Gamers will have the opportunity to personalise her adaptable Icon Outfit, featuring a complete bodysuit with coordinating gloves, offering over 25 different combinations including seven colour choices, four neckline styles and three hair options – sleek long black locks, a tousled bun with fringe, and platinum grey tresses.

A Skims-influenced ensemble comprising grey joggers and a white cropped top, accessorised with a white fur jacket, is also included amongst the selections alongside various additional items.

Players can additionally recreate several of Kardashian’s internet-breaking moments through different features, including a Slurp the Internet Emote, paying tribute to her iconic Break The Internet photo session, and a Diamond Drop Emote. This marks Kardashian’s debut collaboration with the video game, joining a star-studded list of previous features including singers Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, and rapper Eminem.

Kardashian has previously dipped her toes into the gaming world with her own mobile game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. The game, which challenged players to increase their fame and ascend the social ladder, was discontinued in 2024, ten years after its initial release.

Her recent foray comes after her big TV comeback failed to go down well with viewers, who brutally panned her performance in Ryan Murphy’s star-studded new legal drama.

The 45-year-old reality star turned actress takes on the role of Allura Grant, a glamorous divorce lawyer leading an all-female legal firm that goes head-to-head with their male-dominated counterparts.

All’s Fair, which premiered on Hulu and Disney+, boasts an A-list ensemble including Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash.

But despite the heavyweight cast, much of the online conversation has centred around Kim’s acting, and not in a flattering way. While the Skims founder was previously praised for her screen presence in American Horror Story: Delicate, many fans have claimed her latest performance fell flat.

Viewers took to X to share their thoughts, with one writing: “Yeah casting Kim Kardashian was the worst mistake they could’ve made for this show… it ruins the tone immediately because she cannot act. WHY WHY WHY.”

Powell and Lyles helping Jamaica hurricane victims

Two-time 100m world record holder Asafa Powell has teamed up with Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter Noah Lyles to help those affected by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica.

The category-five hurricane hit the Caribbean island in October, killing at least 28 people.

Powell, a member of Jamaica’s 4x100m gold medal-winning team at the 2016 Olympics, lives in capital city Kingston and has visited areas most heavily hit to help those affected.

“My heart was just overwhelmed with sadness,” Powell told BBC World Service.

“I tried not to focus too much on the devastation and tried to see how I could best assist.

Lyles won the 100m gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games and is also a four-time 200m world champion.

Now-retired Powell is pleased that the rivalry on the track between Jamaica and Lyles’ US has brought the countries together in a time of need.

“We are trying to give back everywhere we can.” Powell said on the help he and Lyles are providing.

“Last week, I gave two houses [to families in need]. They were very happy and that made me feel overwhelmed with joy. My wife actually cried and the families cried when they received the house.

“One family had four kids and one had three kids so I can imagine how happy they are to have a home.

“Whenever I am on the track competing, these are the people who have been cheering me on and feeling proud of me. To give something back makes me feel very proud and makes me want to do a lot more.”

Powell has called for the “big organisations” to carry on with their help of Jamaica and not move on when the attention from the disaster has gone.

“I am going to keep helping every month, they should stay in it for the long run and make sure everyone is back in their home,” he added.

Bulgarian government resigns after mass protests

Bulgaria’s government has resigned following weeks of street protests against its economic policies and its perceived failure to tackle corruption.

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced the resignation of his cabinet in a televised statement on Thursday, minutes before parliament had been due to vote on a no-confidence motion.

The resignation comes weeks before Bulgaria is due to join the eurozone on January 1.

“Our coalition met, we discussed the current situation, the challenges we face and the decisions we must responsibly make,” Zhelyazkov said, announcing the government’s decision to step down.

“Our desire is to be at the level that society expects,” he said. “Power stems from the voice of the people.”

Mass protests

Thousands of Bulgarians rallied on Wednesday evening in Sofia and dozens of other towns and cities across the Black Sea nation, the latest in a series of rolling demonstrations that have underlined public frustration with corruption and the failure of successive governments to root it out.

Last week, Zhelyazkov’s government withdrew its 2026 budget plan, the first drafted in euros, due to the protests.

Opposition parties and other organisations said they were protesting plans to hike social security contributions and taxes on dividends to finance higher state spending.

Despite the government’s retreat over the budget plan, the protests have continued unabated in a country that has held seven national elections in the past four years – most recently in October 2024 – amid deep political and social divisions.

President Rumen Radev also called on the government earlier this week to resign. In a message to lawmakers on his Facebook page on Thursday, Radev said: “Between the voice of the people and the fear of the mafia. Listen to the public squares!”

This Morning’s Alison Hammond surprises couple with home visit

The TV presenter swapped the red carpet for the living room, joining the Specsavers Home Visits team to help deliver vital eye and hearing tests to people who can’t leave their homes.

TV favourite Alison Hammond has taken on a brand new role; swapping celebrity interviews for eye and hearing tests as she joins a home visits team bringing vital care to people who can’t leave their homes. In a heartwarming new YouTube mini-series, Alison shadows the Specsavers Home Visits team on their rounds, putting her tea-making skills to the test, sharing laughs, singing, and helping customers choose new glasses.

Along the way, she meets people unable to get out for appointments and hears all about their lives. The initiative comes as research reveals nearly one in two (44%) people who can’t leave home without support are missing out on essential sight and hearing care.

More than a fifth (22%) of carers say the person they look after has suffered worsening eyesight, while 14% report untreated hearing loss due to the difficulty of getting to a healthcare provider.

Among those Alison met was David from Southampton, whose mobility has been affected by a fall. “It was such a treat to meet Alison. I’ve seen her on television, so it made the day feel really special,” said David. “The Home Visits team has been incredibly kind since my fall — their expertise and care really puts you at ease.”

During her time shadowing Specsavers Home Visits optometrist Julie Benson on her rounds, Alison Hammond said: “I had no idea how much goes into a Home Visit until I joined the team myself. We met so many amazing people who simply can’t get out and being able to visit them in their homes makes such a difference.

“As well as assisting with the eye test and helping customers choose their glasses, I got to have a proper chat with them and hear all about their lives. Seeing the difference these services make genuinely touched me and made me realise this is so much more than a job.”

The research also highlighted the impact of missing out on care as nearly a third (30%) of those with vision difficulties are more prone to accidents, and over a third (35%) have lost confidence.

Almost half (47%) said they’re unable to enjoy everyday activities like watching TV, reading, or socialising due to untreated sight issues. Loneliness is another major concern, with 27% of carers saying the person they care for feels isolated because of poor vision and 26% due to hearing problems.

At-home services offer a lifeline, but awareness remains low as less than half (49%) of carers know these services are available, and only 10% say the person they care for has ever had both an eye test and hearing check at home.

Julie Benson added: “We visit hundreds of people each week who simply can’t get to a store due to physical or mental health disabilities. We get to know them and what matters day to day.

“While we’re there to help with their eyesight, the impact goes far beyond that – poor vision can knock confidence or increase loneliness, especially in people who live alone.

“Delivering high-quality clinical care, tailored to their individual needs, genuinely transforms their everyday quality of life.”

Helen Walker, chief executive at Carers UK, added: “Access to home-based healthcare services, like home eye tests and hearing checks, are essential for people who can’t leave their homes independently.

“It also makes a tremendous difference to unpaid carers, the family members and friends who support them, because they often spend a substantial amount of time coordinating their care needs.
