A White House official confirmed that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) will meet with US President Donald Trump for a formal working meeting later this month. This is the Saudi Arabian leader’s second trip to the US capital in seven years.
The crown prince’s visit to the White House has previously been covered by media reports, but Reuters was the first to confirm that the meeting will take place on November 18th.

Trump is urging nations to sign the Abraham Accords as the Saudi royal makes his visit.
Trump and Israel reached agreements in 2020 with Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco. However, Saudi Arabia has consistently stated that any normalization of ties with Israel must be accompanied by a concrete plan for the establishment of a Palestinian state along with Israel.
Trump stated in an interview that he believed Saudi Arabia would eventually sign on to the agreements in an interview that was broadcast on Sunday.
Details are still being discussed when the crown prince arrives, according to the unnamed senior Trump administration official, who spoke to Reuters.
Two weeks prior, The Financial Times reported that MBS and the two nations were hoping to agree on a defense deal.
Saudi Arabia and the US have had positive relations for decades, including in the defense sector.
The US agreed to sell Saudi Arabia an arms package worth nearly $ 142 billion during Trump’s May visit to Riyadh.
Trump also included Saudi Arabia on his first major foreign trip, which also resulted in a multibillion-dollar arms deal, during his first term as president.
For Zohran Mamdani, Astoria, the Queens neighborhood where he has served as a state assemblyman for five years, is where he made his first public address following his unexpected victory in the Democratic Party’s Mayoral Primary in June.
The 34-year-old made his final appearance before Tuesday’s election day on Monday, playing in the background of children’s laughter at a playground in the dusk.

His advice to his enthralling army of volunteers, who according to the campaign is made up of more than 100 000, is “Leave everything out on the field.”
Making history, he said, “shows that when you focus and fight for working people, you can actually remake the politics of the place you call home.”
In the biggest city in the United States, Mamdani has argued that it is his and his mayoral campaign that can actually address those issues, despite the country’s president’s deep concern over an affordability crisis.

Indeed, Trump loomed large on Monday as Mamdani addressed a crowd of supporters, some sporting the campaign’s ostentatious yellow beanies, and a horde of local, national, and international media.
The US president has repeatedly criticized democratic socialist Mamdani as a “bad democrat” over the “communist,” a label he has repeatedly used against former governor Andrew Cuomo.
Elon Musk, a billionaire, also backed Cuomo, a Democrat who is running as an independent after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic Party’s primary.
Mamdani continues to hold on in the most recent polls, even though he is losing. The former governor’s endorsements, who have explicitly urged conservatives to support him instead of running against Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa, could further destabilize the race.
Mamdani’s supporters said on Monday that they hoped that their candidate’s speech would serve as a coda to the deeply entrenched, donor-dominated Democratic establishment that Cuomo is perceived as representing.
Tasnuva Khan, one of the canvassers on Monday, said, “I feel amazing right now,” adding that the election had revealed both the legitimacy of Muslim voters and Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding Bangladeshi population.
If elected, Mamdani would lead the city as the first Muslim, first as a person of South Asian descent, and first as an African-born leader.
“But I’m attempting to maintain balance. Votes are what determine elections. I believe we can definitely deliver, she told Al Jazeera, as long as we kind of stay focused, reach out to our community members, continue canvassing, and knock on doors.
Voting for Zohran is a message displayed in Astoria, Queens.
However, dentist Shabnam Salehezadehi, a supporter of Mamdani and a supporter of the mayoral candidate, claimed she feared the real challenges would arise after the election.
She noted that only winning is the minimum, but he must win support from a coalition of state and city lawmakers to get Mamdani to pass many of his bold promises, including free buses, universal childcare, and rent freezes for a large portion of city apartments, which were paid for by raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy.
Salehezadehi added that she was first drawn to Mamdani because of his unwavering support for Palestinian rights, a break from the traditional Democratic mainstream. “I’m really anxious … not so much whether he’ll win or not,” said Salehezadehi.
“I just genuinely hope we have the mandate to demonstrate Zohran Mamdani’s support,” she said.
Election day is approaching.
Cuomo also traveled to Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx on the final day of the race.
The former governor sat on a bench overlooking nearby street vendors in the Bronx’s Fordham neighborhood, which was a representative of some of the minority-dominated working-class districts Cuomo won in the primary.
In his opinion, New York would turn out to be a “socialist city” if Mamdani were to win.
In Venezuela, “Socialism did not work.” In Cuba, socialism failed. In what has become a a refrain in the final days of the race, he declared, “Socialism will not work in New York City.”
He responded to a question about the nod from Trump at a subsequent meeting in Manhattan’s Washington Heights, which comes as Cuomo has already come under fire for having received many of the same billionaire donors as the Republican president.
“I was called a bad Democrat,” he said. I’m a good Democrat, proud Democrat, and I’m going to continue to be so. Cuomo claimed that Madamdani is not a communist. He is a socialist, he claims. However, socialist mayors are not necessary either.

The “socialist label” does not, however, prevent Gwendolyn Paige, a 69-year-old special educator from the Bronx, from supporting Mamdani.
She instead cited the legacy of Cuomo. Mario Cuomo, Cuomo’s father, also held the office of state governor. In 2021, the younger Cuomo resigned due to allegations of sexual misconduct.
Even as she refuted Trump’s endorsement, Paige told Al Jazeera from the Fordham neighborhood, “Cuomo is the only person who will stand up for the Trump administration.”
She said, “Listen, Trump will say something else tomorrow.” So I don’t put a lot of stock in it.
Just one-third of the city’s 4.7 million registered voters have already cast their ballots in early voting.
On Tuesday, from 6am to 9pm (11:00 GMT, Tuesday to 22:00 GMT, Wednesday), polls will be open, with a winner anticipated to emerge in the hours following. In January, the winner will take office.
Some votes are still up for grabs with only hours until the election day.
For low-income Americans in the US, including those who are not covered by a bill passed by Trump and Republicans earlier this year, Lisa Gonzalez, a retired Army veteran, highlighted the dire times ahead.
In the event that Mamdani is elected, Trump has threatened to reduce federal funding for New York City and deploy the National Guard.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), an increase in air traffic controller absences has caused significant delays and cancellations at airports across the country. They are currently experiencing “immense stress and fatigue” as a result of the ongoing, record-breaking US government shutdown.
According to FlightAware, a US website that provides real-time flight tracking, more than 16, 700 US flights were delayed over the weekend and 2, 282 were canceled.

More than 4, 000 delays and 600 cancellations were reported by FlightAware across major airports like Chicago O’Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Denver, and Newark through Monday evening in the US.
According to the FAA, the shutdown caused staffing shortages at half of its “Core 30” facilities at major US airports, with absences reaching 80% at New York-area airports.
Nearly 13, 000 air traffic controllers have been avoiding pay for the past few weeks, ensuring the safety of more than 50, 000 daily operations throughout the national airspace system (NAS).
Staffing levels are putting pressure on as we approach the weekend as a rise in calls out…
Air traffic controllers, who work for nearly 13, 000 people in the US, are considered to be “essential workers,” which means they have been unpaid since the government’s shutdown started on October 1.
However, according to the FAA, there had been a rise in absences, which had forced it to  reduce the flow of air traffic in the US to maintain safety standards.
The FAA stated on X on Friday that “the shutdown must end so that these controllers receive the pay they’ve earned and that travelers can avoid additional delays and disruptions.” The FAA will slow down air traffic when staffing shortages occur to ensure safety. This could cause cancellations or delays.
On Sunday, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated on the Face the Nation program on CBS News that the delays will continue to protect airline safety.
“We make sure the system is secure all the time.” According to a transcript of the program, Duffy stated that we would slow down traffic, cause delays, and cancel flights to ensure the safety of the system.
Duffy claimed that air traffic controllers would not be fired despite using their vacations to pursue other jobs. I won’t fire air traffic controllers when they decide to feed their families, he said.
The US government shutdown is expected to reach its 35th day on Tuesday, making it the longest shutdown in US history to date. It will surpass the US shutdown from 2018 to 2019.
David Beckham allegedly teases Victoria, who he married in 1999, about how she never wears clothes, but the fashion designer, who was a member of the Spice Girls, is said to have changed that.

Victoria Beckham has made David the suit which he will wear for his investiture today, it is reported.
The fashion designer, 51, has given her husband the special gift to mark the day he gets a knighthood. David, the former England international, will be bestowed by King Charles himself following years of missing out on the honour.
When this was made public in June, Victoria reportedly began the covert project to surprise the man she married in 1999. Victoria, who was a member of the Spice Girls, was determined to mark the investiture because David, 50, is said to have “teased his wife that she never makes him any clothes.”
And so David, who played more than 250 times for Manchester United, will don the three-piece suit today as he is celebrated for his services to sport and charity. The father of four is understood to be “extremely happy” with the design, the first garment Victoria has made for her husband.

A couple’s friend once said, “David teases Victoria by never wearing any clothes.” So, Victoria made the decision to schedule David’s big day at Windsor in the spring when they learned that the day would come to an end in Windsor.
She knew it would take time, but Victoria knew the timing of the investiture would be a long shot because she had never done anything similar before.
David was named in the King’s Birthday Honours in June, having reportedly been considered for a knighthood since 2011. After Victoria told David about the secret project, the former midfielder went for several fittings at his wife’s atelier in her west London offices, it is thought. Now, he is all set for the Windsor Castle ceremony, which will see the star kneel on his right knee whilst the King or a different member of the Royal Family touches his right shoulder and then his left with a bar sword blade.

“Victoria got to work, designing the three-piece suit and, as she doesn’t do anything by halves, she threw herself into it and made sure it was absolutely perfect,” the source told the Daily Mail.
According to media reports, an avalanche that swept through a camp on Mount Yalung Ri caused at least seven fatalities, including five foreigners.
The team of 15 people were hit by the avalanche as they climbed the 5, 630-meter (18, 471-foot) mountain of Yalung Ri, according to a report from The Kathmandu Post on Tuesday, citing local officials, and only four survivors are still standing.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Kumar Mahato, “The avalanche buried everyone on the slope.” The difficult weather delayed an immediate response, and we received the information late.
According to Mahato, the incident claimed the lives of three French climbers, two Nepalis, and one Canadian.
Four Nepalese climbers who sustained injuries have been evacuated, and four others, all of whom are also from Nepal, are still missing, according to the Kathmandu Post.
One of the injured climbers claimed they had called for assistance but had been waiting for hours.
The unnamed climber pleaded for assistance, saying, “We yelled and cried, but no one could reach us.” After four hours, a helicopter was scheduled to arrive, but several of our friends had already left.
In northeastern Nepal’s Rolwaling Valley, climbers encounter a mix of rock, ice, and snow.
According to the Kathmandu Post, the valley had been dealing with persistent snow and bad weather for several days prior to the tragedy on Monday.
A helicopter could not be flown in the area due to heavy snowfall and clouds, according to Mahato, the police officer, but a plane eventually arrived on Monday evening.
He added that there have also been foot rescue teams in the area, and that Tuesday morning’s search operation will start.
Nepal welcomes hundreds of climbers and trekkers every year, including Mount Everest, which is one of the 14 highest peaks in the world.
Due to the shorter, icy days, snowy terrain, and narrow summit window, less popular are the Himalayan expeditions in October and November than the busy springtime months of April and May.
Trekkers and tourists stranded on well-known Himalayan trekking routes after heavy rain and snow fell last week in Nepal.

Holly Willoughby is tipped to host Strictly Come Dancing(Image: PA)
Holly Willoughby “will take over” as Strictly Come Dancing presenter, according to top media source.
The host is set for a dramatic return to our TV screens, more than two years after quitting This Morning on ITV when she became the victim of a murder plot. Gavin Plumb, the creep behind the conspiracy, was jailed for life in July and now it is thought Holly, 44, is ready to come back to broadcasting.
Peter Fincham, who was director of the BBC for two years until 2007, understands Holly will replace either Claudia Winkleman or Tess Daly, who are leaving Strictly after more than two decades associated with the programme.
Mr Fincham, who since managed ITV between 2008 and 2016, said: “My hairdresser also cuts the hair of a well-known channel controller. What’s said in Harry’s the hairdresser stays in Harry’s. But he says with great confidence that Holly Willoughby will take over.”

The insider spoke to Richard Eden, a journalist with the Daily Mail, who wrote Holly is likely to present Strictly from the start of the next series in 2026. Tess and Claudia will depart at the end of the current series, from which actress and model Ellie Goldstein was eliminated on Saturday.
Holly was on This Morning for 14 years until her exit, which came after her long-time co-presenter Phillip Schofield resigned. Phillip, 63, had admitted that, before leaving his wife, he had carried on an extramarital affair with a young male co-worker and had lied about it to ITV’s management, his colleagues, lawyers, agents and friends and family.

After the incident, which was not illegal, and the experienced presenter’s exit from ITV completely, he was also forced to leave his job at his talent agency, YMU, which meant he was unable to host the British Soap Awards in the days that followed.

Holly’s return, said to be backed with “great confidence” by the “well-known channel controller”, would come off the back of this scrutiny – albeit more than two years down the line. The bombshell claims come after sources linked comedian Alan Carr, 49, to one of the two vacant Strictly posts.
