Leicester 1-4 Arsenal MATCH REPORT

After a blistering first-half start at home against London rival Harlequins, Saracens won 47-10 to officially launch their Premiership Women’s Rugby campaign.
In the opening 10 minutes, Sarries bounced back from a devastating defeat in their first game against Gloucester Hartpury, the PWR final opponent, with the help of Alysha Corrigan, Kelsey Clifford, and Jemma-Jo Linkins.
Ellie Kildunne, an England star, scored one of the team’s seven tries overall as Quins lost their first game of the season.
Red Roses full-back Kildunne was making her 50th appearance for Quins, but Saracens was the one to start the game at StoneX Stadium.
When Katie Shillaker scored wide to put Quins on the board, Corrigan opened the scoring just after the second minute, when the visitors were already leading 19-0.
In the 28th minute, Poppy Cleall was sent off for the home team, but they then doubled their lead with Laets Royer’s debut try before the break.
At the start of the second half, Sydney Gregson scored Corrigan for her second try, but Louise McMillan and Amelia MacDougall added two late tries for Sarries while Kildunne scored for Quins for 33-10 with seven minutes left.
In Scott Lawson’s first game in charge of last season’s fourth-place finishers, Bristol Bears defeated Leicester Tigers to open their campaign with a 12-try victory.
At Mattioli Woods Welford Road, speedy winger Reneeq Bonner scored a hat-trick, with Millie David dominating with four impressive tries.
Evie Gallagher, Amy Dale, and Holly Phillips each received a try, along with Ella Lovibond, and there was also a couple.
The Bears’ only negative aspect was center Phoebe Miller’s injury, who had to be forced off midway through the first half to put on crutches.
After making her first appearance of the season at Loughbrough Lightning, World Cup winner Holly Aitchison was unable to lead Sale Sharks to a second victory in as many games.
Sadia Kabeya and Lilli Ives Campion, the home team, rallied from a dismal start to the season to record a 19-12 victory at Franklin’s Gardens.
Haineala Lutui touched down twice in the second half, while Tahlia Brody scored a try for Lightning on her debut.

Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, has pledged to pay for any medical expenses incurred by any of the club’s supporters who were injured in a slew of train accidents on Saturday.
After a home game against Manchester United, Forest claimed that many of our London-based supporters were returning home on that train.
Two of the injured and hospitalized patients are still in a critical condition, while the other eleven were hurt and treated.
“Everyone at Nottingham Forest is shocked and deeply depressed by what happened,” Marinakis said.
The supporters’ bravery and selflessness on that train epitomize both our club’s greatest achievements and that of its members.
We will ensure that any supporter of this incident receives any money to enable their recovery so that they can get the best possible medical care.
Alistair Day, who had been a part of Forest’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United, was on the train at the time of the attack.
“Just by the buffet car, I was.” It was strange. At the end of the carriage, all these young children were running up, and I assumed it was a Halloween or student trick, according to Day, who was returning to Hertford.
Any kind of people with blood on them [appeared], and I thought, “Oh, bloody hell, this is not good.”
The club expressed its “deepest concern and heartfelt sympathy” to all those who were injured in the shocking attack on an LNER train bound for London yesterday evening in a statement.
After our game at the City Ground, many of our London-based supporters were returning home on that train, Forest continued. “Our thoughts are very much with everyone involved in such a distressing incident,” Forest continued.
The club is aware of the extraordinary bravery of many people, which undoubtedly prevented even greater harm.

Refusing to do what your manager asks you to do in an office or on a football field is not a good look.
Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence, both of whom played for Tottenham, gave the statement to Spurs manager Thomas Frank on Saturday.
When Frank encouraged his players to do a lap of applause around the stadium shortly after half-time in their 1-0 home defeat against Chelsea, as he does after every home game, he did it again.
Van de Ven and Spence were caught on camera bashing their manager and going straight down the tunnel as his players were being booed off the pitch.
Is such a reaction understandable in the present, given that the emotions and frustrations were high following such a disappointing loss? Or should a manager’s request always be honored?
Frank downplayed the incident after the game, saying, “All the players are obviously frustrated.”
I am aware that they would like to do well, win, and perform well, as stated in their respective statements.
Spurs are understood to be satisfied that Frank was not hurt, but rather a result of frustration with the way things had changed and the amount of negativity that had been generated by fans at their home stadium over the past few weeks.
However, it was unfortunate to publicly reject Frank’s request.
Nedum Onuoha, the former defender for Manchester City, thinks it is understandable that the players were frustrated, but believes Van de Ven and Spence should at least acknowledge Frank.
You experience frustrations as players,” he declared live on BBC Radio 5. Simply nod your manager and listen.
You may have to do this joyful little dance at times. You are aware of the fans’ clapping. If those two make amends when they come out, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Tim Krul, the former Newcastle goalkeeper, said, “I can see both sides in this one.
“You’ve just lost against your biggest rivals, but the manager obviously wants all the players to cheer up and cheer.”
They played a terrible game, and Micky van de Ven was to blame for one of the goals. They weren’t clapping enough, so they shouldn’t have. They show no sign of concern, but they did so improperly.

Football is a sensitive game, and players may not always react the best way when things don’t go their way.
What followed from previous instances of players snubging their managers, along with what follows:
Eric Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo
What transpired: Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portugal star, left the stadium before half-time when he refused to play as a late substitute for Manchester United in a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in October 2022.
How it turned out: Ronaldo was dropped from the squad for the following game, and he claimed in a TV interview that he felt “betrayed” by the team the following month. He left the club by mutual consent a week later.
Oliver Glasner and Marc Guehi
What transpired: Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who was at the time linked with a move to Liverpool, appeared to ignore Oliver Glasner as the Eagles manager called him out on the pitch shortly after half-time in a draw with Chelsea.
How it turned out: Guehi and Glasner haven’t changed since that incident, and the defender has continued to play for the Eagles regularly. However, it was announced last month that he would leave the organization next year.
Maurizio Sarri and Kepa Arrizabalaga
What transpired: Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refused to be substituted for him during the defeat by Manchester City in the 2019 Carabao Cup final.
How it turned out: Kepa apologized but received a pay fine for a week. Then, according to Blues manager Sarri, the situation is now closed.
Glenn Roeder and Paolo di Canio
What transpired: Di Canio yelled at Roeder on the touchline after being informed that he would be substituted for a game against Tottenham in September 2002. After he calmed down, Di Canio was eventually released.

Taking to Instagram, Georgia updated her followers by revealing she had returned from a holiday in Dubai and had already set up her Christmas tree for the festive season. She explained: “I needed to do that all because next week I am going in for my op.”
She then stated, “On the podcast I recently recorded, We Need to Talk, I announced that I would have surgery this week because I would be getting my boobs redone.” removing the implants Actually, it’s a pretty big job.
To be honest, they are 14 years old, but I would have left them because I had always believed that I would change them after having children. However, I found a lump over the summer. So I went to the doctors, and he also noticed the lump, and we both now realize they need to come out.
She continued, “There was one lump in one that worried me.” One of them had ruptured, and the other had actually flipped and moved, and the doctor said, “You need to get these out,” when we actually looked at them.
The TV star continued, “I had only just had the wedding and GG as a baby, so ideally didn’t want to do this right now. So I yelled, “Right.” When I return home to London, I’ll see a surgeon.
She explained that a specialist had been given to her. He said, “Are you not in agony,” she asked. because they both broke. Georgia continued, “Georgia explained that she had some back pain and that her implants felt uncomfortable.
You can’t ignore things, she said. If you’ve got implants or are considering it, you should first see a really talented surgeon, which is my piece of advice to anyone. Do your research is worthwhile… I regret not doing the research I do now. I only wanted big boobs at the time.
She continued, “You need to check your implants the same way you would your regular boobs.” The implants can occasionally conceal things. Get checked if you have lumps and bumps.
“I went and got scanned, so I’m so happy I found that lump. I wasn’t aware that they could break. You must go for a scan to see what they can leak.
