Inside Rosie Kelly’s wedding with famous maid of honour and TV star mum Lorraine

Rosie’s daughter Rosie will be getting married next summer, and Lorraine Kelly is eager to see her daughter Billie play a special role on the big day.

Chat show queen Lorraine Kelly has plenty to look forward to, from her ongoing chat show on ITV to a new book and even a travel series. But what she’s extremely excited about as we catch up with her exclusively for Notebook, is her only child, daughter Rosie’s summer wedding to fiancé Steve White.

The enthralling TV host admits that she is counting down the days until her daughter, age 31, knots the knot, adding that the day will be “our family, his family, and friends.” The wedding, the bubbly 65-year-old tells us is scheduled for July, in Perthshire.

And there’s one girlie element of the wedding prep that she can’t wait for, she confesses. “We’re going to look at wedding dresses, me and Rosie, her maid of honour Amber and Mark Hayes [the fashion stylist fromLorraine’s show]. It will be like an episode of Say Yes To The Dress!”

Lorraine, who has been. married to her cameraman husband Steve Smith for 33 years, also laughs that there’s also the risk that Rosie’s adorable daughter Billie, born last August, will totally steal the show – as she has a special role on her parent’s big day. “I did say to Rosie, ‘You do realise with all this planning about what you’re going to wear, in reality, all eyes will be on Billie Boo as the flower girl! She’ll steal the show.’”

The Scottish TV star is totally enamoured with little Billie, now 14 months, as she reveals during our interview – and admits that becoming a granny is one of the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Explaining that her new role has allowed her to create more time for the people she loves, she says, smiling: “Don’t go out with people you don’t like – spend more time babysitting!”

She’s open to the fact that she is cruel to her granddaughter. She has a new obsession, according to Minnie Mouse. So, of course, I’ve been searching for Minnie right away online. She’s probably now too sluggish and bored”!

She continues, “Billie is so gorgeous. She is wonderful, talking rubbish, and crawling almost walking. When she sees me, her lovely little face sparkles in the sunlight. She has such a positive attitude. She occasionally refers to me as Banana, and occasionally as Nana. I’ll respond to any question, I don’t care.

“With Rosie and working so hard, it was rush rush to get her to eat, read a story, sleep – now I can take my time and savour it all. And on the rare occasions Billie stays with me and Steve, it’s the best thing in the world.”

Rosie, a journalist and podcaster, revealed her boyfriend Steve had popped the question last June, just two months after announcing she was expecting her first child.

Sharing a carousel of images to her social media, she showed off a snap of her engagement ring, while cradling her bump, with the caption: “There are too many lovely things going on and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. Everyone always told me you’ll know when it’s about to happen but I had absolutely no idea, but I have a lifetime to get you back @stevewhite94.”

Strictly Come Dancing star begs famous partner not to leave after hitting ‘rock bottom’

EXCLUSIVE: One famous Strictly Come Dancing couple have been together for three years – but they’ve faced some serious challenges along the way, one of which left one feeling very low

They may be one of Strictly’s sweetest-ever success stories, but things haven’t always been smooth sailing for loved-up duo Molly Rainford and Tyler West.

The pair, who found romance after meeting on the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing, have revealed that even their fairytale love story was tested to its limits during their latest TV adventure — and one particularly grim moment left Molly fearing the worst.

Now happily engaged and preparing for yet another challenge together, the EastEnders actress and Kiss FM presenter are used to being in the spotlight side by side. But during filming for Celebrity Race Across The World, their famously chilled relationship was pushed to breaking point.

While the series saw them racing across breathtaking beaches and tropical rainforests, it wasn’t all sunshine and smooth roads — and for Molly, one mortifying moment almost turned their romantic getaway into a breakup.

“It was one of those times where you think, ‘Please, not now, not here,’” she laughs, recalling a tough stretch of their journey across Central America. “Everything had been going so well, but suddenly I hit rock bottom.”

Only later does she admit just how bad things got. “I had a particularly low moment but I won’t describe it – it’s gross,” she confesses, blushing. “Let’s say it was stomach related! I turned to Tyler and said, ‘You can’t leave me now, because if you did, I don’t think anybody will love me ever again!’”

Thankfully, Tyler didn’t go anywhere. The 29-year-old radio and TV presenter, who met Molly when they were both contestants on Strictly, proved the picture of patience and reassurance. “We’d already heard from friends who said, ‘I couldn’t do that kind of show with my partner,’” Tyler admits. “So yes, we were nervous we might argue. But in the end, it just brought us even closer together.”

And closer they certainly are — after three years together, the couple are not only living under one roof but are newly engaged, too.

Competing on the hit BBC series saw them swap glitzy red carpets for buses, hostels and long treks through jungles. “We never did a gap year,” Molly explains. “We’ve both worked since we were young, so this was like a fast-track version of that – a chance to see the world in a completely different way.”

Tyler agrees: “Normally, when you go on holiday, you stay in a resort and switch off. You’d never pick a tiny town in the middle of Mexico, but that’s what makes Race Across The World so special. It opens your eyes.”

Their fellow contestants included TV presenter Anita Rani with her dad Bal, siblings Roman and Harleymoon Kemp, and Hollyoaks star Dylan Llewellyn with his mum Jackie – but as the youngest team in the line-up, Molly and Tyler were determined to prove themselves. “I didn’t want us to be the young couple who ran out of money or lost our passports!”, Molly laughs.

Judging by their easy banter and shared smiles, it’s clear that whatever challenges they faced – dodgy tummies and all – the race only made them stronger. As Tyler puts it with a grin, “We started this journey together, and we finished it even more in love. Nothing was going to make me walk away – not even that!”

The upcoming series will be filmed in Central America, kicking off in Mexico and wrapping up in Columbia.

The BBC revealed: “This series takes the race through one of the most diverse and visually stunning routes yet, spanning the undiscovered Caribbean and Pacific coast of Central America.

“The journey begins on the idyllic Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres, just off the easternmost point of Mexico and challenges teams to race 5,900km to reach the finish line in the remote and breathtaking Península de La Guajira in Colombia – the gateway to South America.”

The statement went on: “Our familiar faces will say goodbye to lavish transport, smartphones and bank cards and instead must rely on limited budgets, local transport and their own resourcefulness, as well as the kindness of strangers.

“Relationships will be tested and transformed as they discover the world, and themselves, in ways they never expected.”

The celebrity edition follows the civilian series where mother-son duo Caroline and Tom were declared winners, trekking 14,000km across Asia and beating four other teams, bagging the £20,000 prize after navigating through China, Nepal and India.

The first season of Celebrity Race Across The World saw weather presenter Alex Beresford and his dad Noel emerge victorious after beating Melanie Blatt and her mum Helene, Harry Judd and his mum Emma, and Billy Monger and sister Bonny.

Media, Money & Zohran Mamdani

We examine the rise of Zohran Mamdani, a candidate for mayor of New York City, in this special episode of The Listening Post. Mamdani, a democratic socialist and outspoken critic of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, has received hostility from both the political donor class and the democratic establishment in the US. Particularly relentlessly has the press been questioning Mamdani’s progressive policies as well as his nationality and immigrant identity.

Mamdani has a global following, leads in the polls, and is a digital native. His victory would have a significant impact on the Democratic Party all over New York City.

In this episode, Mamdani is shown how the media and the wealthy political elite attempted to discredit him and how, despite all odds, he built a movement off of their criticism.

Kebbi ADC Faction Cautions Suspended Members Against Parading As Exco

A branch of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has warned individuals or organizations against acting as party leaders in the state.

Abdulrazak Abubakar, the chairman of the faction, issued the warning at a press conference on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi.

Abubakar claimed that Sufiyanu Bala and others, who were previously suspended by the party, have continued to act as ADC executives. Alhaji Sule Iko was also suspended for Sufiyanu’s parading as the party chairman, he continued.

Sufiyanu Bala and Sule Iko are no longer members of the ADC, according to Abdulrazak, citing a court order that prevents Sufiyanu Bala from posing as a party leader.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) official said, “A High Court sitting in Kebbi State has issued an interim injunction restraining three of its state executive committee members from posing as members.”
