A royal author claims that some staff members were teary-eyed after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s six-week getaway before their sensationally self-exile from royal life was so secret that even their nanny was unaware of their plans.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to Canada in the fall of 2019 before returning to the UK to reveal their shocking exit in early 2020. The Sussexes wrote in a message during that time that they wished you a very happy Thanksgiving from our family.

Meghan was so worried that the couple wouldn’t even tell their nanny, Lorren, where they were going when it was revealed that it was supposed to be “family time,” according to the Palace, and it definitely shouldn’t be seen as a vacation.
“‘What sort of weather should I pack for?’ she asked. According to one source, she did not know where they were going until the plane – a private jet, not Air Canada, as claimed by [the book] Finding Freedom – was in the air.
