After discovering that hundreds of professional match officials in Turkey had betting accounts, an investigation revealed that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) had suspended 149 referees and assistant referees.
According to the “severity of the act,” there have been bans on involvement in betting activity of eight to twelve months, with investigations into three additional officials still ongoing.
On the TFF website, a full list of the officials who had been disciplined was made available.
A five-year investigation revealed on Monday that 371 of 571 match officials had betting accounts, with 152 of those having actual gambling.
42 had wagers on more than 1, 000 football games, with one official reporting that they had placed 18 227 bets, compared to some who had only once.
Match officials are prohibited from engaging in gambling activities in the same way as players and coaches by the TFF’s disciplinary rules, as well as those of the world’s governing body Fifa and the European governing body Uefa.
Turkish football is in a moral crisis, according to the statement. There is no structure at all. The fundamental issue with Turkish football is one of ethics, according to TFF president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu, who spoke to CNN on Friday.
Ask any referee, and I’ll step down as president of the federation if even one has not received his pay. In fact, both last year and this year, their salaries improved.

A number of Turkey’s top clubs responded on Monday after the investigation’s findings were made public.
The development, according to Besiktas, “could represent a new beginning for clean football,” while Trabzonspor referred to it as “an historic opportunity to rebuild justice in Turkish football.”
Sadettin Saran, president of Fenerbahce, stated: “This is both shocking and deeply depressing for Turkish football.

Fabio Borini has had a remarkable career, playing for clubs like Chelsea, Roma, Liverpool, Sunderland, AC Milan, and most recently, Sampdoria.
Additionally, he is adored by Italy because of a 2012 friendly against the USA.
What appeals to a crisp morning in Salford, given that I’m 34?
What inner drive led him to the League Two side’s training ground early in the season, making it famous when Manchester United’s Class of 1992 purchased the team for its FA Cup match against Lincoln?
What does it mean that despite having to wipe his nose on numerous occasions as the weather began to wane, he was cheerily and patiently seated outside on a training pitch after arriving earlier than expected for our interview?
He told BBC Sport, “You can call it the buzz.” You could refer to it as adrenaline. It might even be called addiction.
Professional athletes must strive to understand the feelings they can try to explain to others who don’t live it themselves, according to coach Steve Smith.
People claim that you are performing the world’s best work, but that you will feel it when it stops. You make the most of it, then. Nothing else you can try compares to the buzz. Nothing can ever be the same.
It doesn’t alter, they say. I entered training when I was 21 and am currently 34. I put in the extra effort, and I’m probably happier than I did before.
The Professional Footballers Association (PFA)’s initiative to organize a number of pre-season camps for players without contracts led to Borini’s presence at the Littleton Road training ground, which is still used by Manchester United’s academy.
Borini had known Salford City assistant manager Alex Bruce for a while, and he was invited to join him for further training in a competitive environment at the end of the camps. The offer is described as a “no-brainer,” according to Bruce. Borini was so impressed by it that she agreed to a short-term deal.
He said, “I told them whatever they put on the table was going to be good for me because I want to play football, and we’ll move on.”
The PFA’s use of this initiative is very beneficial. With the facilities they provided, it allows players to stay in shape the best possible way.
Alex and other clubs texted me to let me know they were interested, which is because it is also a fantastic opportunity to see. It must have happened to other players as well, I suppose.

Borini then began researching Salford’s history and their progression from the Northern Premier League First Division North to League Two through four consecutive victories.
He would also be aware that David Beckham and Gary Neville are the only players still investing in money because the club has been a member of League Two since 2019 and has recently undergone a change of ownership.
As Borini and his team-mates kicked off their most recent training session, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes were both present.
Neville is the only member of Salford’s well-known historical ownership group that he hasn’t met, perhaps unsurprising given his extensive personal commitments.
Borini said, “It is crucial for players to understand and learn about the history of their clubs.”
You must be able to grasp the fundamentals of this region before you can play, as I believe you must do.
Salford “are not like any League Two club,” according to Borini. He claims that the most visually impaired backers feel more sophisticated because of their larger infrastructure and background in football.
Although he has only had a few cameo substitute appearances so far this year, he knows his backstory will catch attention because AC Milan is a world away. He made 72 appearances in a two-year stint to 2020.
He said, “I already had a little taste.” Although the word “target” is incorrect, you might be perceived differently by opponents.
That is motivating to me. Before I arrived, I believe everyone wanted to play against Salford because of the background and the football fans.
They now have something to look forward to, which is playing with me.
“The lights are on us, and it is challenging for me to maintain the same level,” said the team. You must act and produce results in order to keep the lights on.
Borini says his fitness levels are still high and that he intends to play for two or three more years.
Even if it’s unlikely to replicate Liverpool’s successful 2015 FA Cup run, when Borini was a member of the squad that was defeated by Aston Villa in the final four, is a possibility, he still has goals.
A third round selection and the possibility of a return to Anfield or Stadium of Light are more likely to make things work.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first started dating, they received a call that changed everything.

Harry and Meghan have a long tradition of Halloween celebrations.
Since the early days of their relationship, Halloween has always held a special place for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Just months after they started dating in 2016, the royal couple celebrated the spooky holiday with Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie and her now-husband Jack Brooksbank.
The foursome hit the town in Toronto, Canada, where they all went to the city’s Soho House for an Apocalypse-themed bash, as behind-the-scenes pictures shown during the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries revealed their unique costumes that night, including the Harry’s Mad Max-inspired outfit, which was borrowed from the film’s actor Tom Hardy, and Eugenie’s matching ensemble.

Harry and Meghan were still living apart between London and Toronto at the time, Meghan still working as an actress on the Suits series, and they continued to communicate behind closed doors.
While the couple wanted their privacy just four months into their relationship, they were also dabbling in a few outings together, as royal authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote in the biography, Finding Freedom.
Because there was a lot to celebrate, they particularly didn’t feel like spending Halloween weekend in hiding. They fell in love head-first and were enthralled four months into their union, which was one of their favorite vacations. The couple and Harry arrived in Toronto on October 29 and made the decision to attend a large costume party at Soho House in Toronto.
They discovered a newspaper had learned about their relationship the day before their Halloween party and was planning to publish the exclusive story in the paper the following day.
They both felt relaxed and absorbed in the Halloween spirit about a cocktail or so into the evening. One of Harry’s aides called them at Kensington Palace, and that was probably the end of the night out. The news wasn’t positive.
In his own memoir Spare, Harry also recalled the incident, claiming that “everything was made up” the day after the party when the relationship was revealed.
He goes on to say, “Well, we said it was going to happen eventually, staring anxiously at our phones.” In fact, we already knew what was likely to occur that day. Before the Halloween Apocalypse, we were informed that another apocalypse might be coming. More evidence that the universe was full of wicked humor.
But despite the memories from their first Halloween together, the October holiday still remains a special celebration for the couple, especially now they’ve welcomed children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet .
Meghan and Harry and their children pick pumpkins from a pumpkin patch and carve them in various designs ahead of the spooky holiday season earlier this week, in an adorable video.
Harry follows behind with a carving knife as the youngsters enjoy running through rows of enormous pumpkins. Later, while his two children are watching, he is seen sketching his masterpiece.

Chef James Martin has spoken frankly about his career, and what he would do if he lost his job with ITV.
For nearly 30 years James, 53, has been entertaining people around the world with his cooking skills on television, and through his restaurants.
Speaking on the Road To Success podcast with Benedict Fowler, James addressed his relationship with the media sphere, revealing how some people chase it and others don’t.
He acknowledged that he is just so happen to be in it that he is one of those who “don’t want it.” He acknowledged, however, that he had rather embraced his fame than pursued it.
James explained: “The weird thing is about this industry is there’s a group in this industry.
“I’m the group that doesn’t want it, and there’s a group that wants it,” he says. I just happen to be in it, and I’m fine with it, but I don’t chase it.
“I’m not one of these Instagram people that go running around chasing, at all, I don’t need to go chasing it. If it disappears tomorrow, that’s fine, I’ll go back to my restaurants, but it’s there and I’ve been in it nearly 30 odd years.
It’s amazing, it’s a journey, but I don’t go chasing it because I don’t believe it will last forever. It’s amazing. There’s a mystery to it, in my opinion.
James also made a point about how busy he was, stating that his schedule is already full for 2026 and three-quarters full for 2027.
He said, “My diary is three-quarters full in 2027, and we aren’t even 2026.” Not at the chase, I’m excited about it, I’m excited about new ventures, I’m excited about different things, and I’m excited about the job, which is fantastic, and you can’t really have anything to do with it.
You’re working with the team, but you’re enjoying it, I tell the team before we even begin serving.
It’s a really unusual thing, and we just completed a 28-day theater tour because of it.
James also provided an insight into his time on his Saturday Morning shows and how he doesn’t rehearse. He said: “A lot of people don’t know, for the 20 years I’ve been on Saturday Mornings (and Saturday Kitchen), every single recipe that I’ve ever done, I’ve not rehearsed it.
