Military Action Threat: Engage US Govt Diplomatically, Wahab Shittu Tells Tinubu

Wahab Shittu, a senior advocate for Nigeria, has urged President Bola Tinubu to talk with the US over President Trump’s threat of a military takeover.

Trump had threatened to carry out attacks in Nigeria in response to alleged anti-Christian hostile acts, saying he had given the newly renamed Department of War instructions to “prepare for possible action.”

Trump threatened to immediately stop providing any assistance to the African nation “if the Nigerian government continues to allow the killing of Christians.”

The senior lawyer reacted in a press conference by saying that Nigeria needs to start talks with the US.

He wants that President Tinubu personally lead the delegation, which includes all government officials, to stop what he claims will be the start of a US-Nigeri war.

Shittu requested that Tinubu hold additional official meetings in order to address what he termed existential threats to Nigeria and its citizens.

The senior lawyer also urged Nigerians to unite to support the government in all ways to overcome the problem.

In response to the most recent US threats of action against Nigeria, he urged the country’s president and the ruling elite to immediately speak with the US president in a diplomatic manner led by our president in collaboration with AU Heads of Governments to stop the US from starting a war against the country.

“We need to act quickly,” he said. Our president should postpone other official engagements in order to address the existential threats posed to Nigeria and her people. We must speak up, we must make peace requests to the US authorities, and we must move very quickly because the world is moving at a rapid rate and speed.

We must STRONGLY urge the AU and Commonwealth to support us in bringing our case before President Trump. To stop the US from attacking Nigeria, all relevant government officials must suspend their official duties and travel on diplomatic missions.

Strictly’s Shirley Ballas makes epic mistake on TV leaving viewers in disbelief

Although Shirley Ballas is best known as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, she surprised viewers by her lack of knowledge when she appeared on BBC’s The Wheel.

Shirley Ballas, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, made a terrible error on television that dissuade viewers. The star made an error in her specialist subject question on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel when she first appeared on the show.

Everyone was perplexed when a contestant named Gordon was asked a question about dance while he was on the show. What is a “step, shuffle, jump” known as in tap dance, according to host Michael’s question?

A. Buffalo and B. Buffalo were the four choice answers. C. Penguin, D. Gazelle, or Elephant. Gordon had a hard time coming up with a solid response, but he eventually chose option C, which was incorrect.

When it was revealed that he had made it incorrect, the studio turned red. Everyone on the show questioned Shirley about the appropriate use of the term in tap dance.

However, Shirley chose the incorrect answer, and she also wasn’t sure of it. Although Shirley chose Gazelle, it turned out to be Buffalo.

She responded, “I picked gazelle because I have no idea. All beauty and elegance. Despite serving as Strictly’s head judge for many years, some program critics criticized Shirley for getting the question incorrect despite the program’s fans who agreed that it was extremely difficult.

Some fans took to X to talk about the awkward moment. One said: “How embarrassing that Shirley Ballas doesn’t know what [the answer is].”

As a second thought, “Penguin would be the tap dance question based solely on how the main character in Happy Feet does it.”

However, one person clarified the name of the response, saying that “it’s called a Buffalo because the steps make the sound of the railroad to Buffalo” and that “it’s a Buffalo.”

This comes as Shirley criticized a notorious former professional dancer, who she believes had ambitions for a high-coveted judging position.

Following a rigorous selection process, Shirley, 65, was chosen to succeed Len Goodman, who is retiring.

Before he took Len, New Zealand dancer Brendan Cole “expressed some scepticism” about her abilities in her autobiography, Best Foot Forward.

When [It Takes Two] host Zoe Ball asked him if all the pros were going to be “desperate to impress me,” he pompously replied that since they had all spent a lot of time together, they should be trying to impress me.

He stooped the way to disaster from there, and that was the setting. She speculates that Brendan’s harsh remarks were the result of resentment over not being chosen, and that she also believes Brendan auditioned for Len’s position.

According to Shirley, Anton Du Beke, a fellow professional, had advised Brendan to “go with the flow and accept the BBC’s decision.”

EastEnders star Shona McGarty ‘splits from fiancé’ amid rumours of I’m A Celeb appearance

Shona McGarty, who is best known for playing Whitney Dean on the BBC soap opera EastEnders, reportedly broke up with her fiance after two years of dating.

Shona McGarty has reportedly split from her fiancé after a year-long engagement. The actress, 34, who is best known for playing Whitney Dean on the BBC soap EastEnders, got engaged to musician David Bracken in the summer of 2024 but is said to have now called the whole thing off.

A source said: “They are on amicable terms, but have ended their romantic relationship. There are no hard feelings, they realised they wanted different things and are better off as friends. Shona is now focusing on her music and career.” The Mirror has contacted representatives for comment.

According to The Sun, the soap star was spotted out and about without her engagement ring on in recent days. The pair met on TikTok just over two years ago and David, who is best known as a member of Blessed, popped the question during a romantic picnic in that took place in Kensington, West London. Although, at the time, things almost went awry when the police turned up.

David said at the time, “I went over to the police, who said, Sorry, we are just closing up the park.” Would you mind giving me five minutes while I prepare to propose to my partner? He said, “Of course, and best of luck!” as he looked at his watch. So I instructed Shona to stand at the park’s waterfall. I then went on one knee and danced to our favorite song.

Shona then pointed out that she had no idea how David’s proposal had been almost canceled at the last minute. She claimed that David had visited them and that she had no idea what he had been saying when she was just consuming cheese and crackers.

In an exclusive joint interview with OK! announcing their engagement, Shona and David said that the location of the proposal made it even more special.

A tranquil area of Kyoto Garden, which is significant to Shona, was chosen by David. She continued, “I adore Japanese culture and its spirituality. He brought a very tasty picnic. I was in my element, but I didn’t think he would make a proposal at all. “It was lovely.

Shona admitted that David had no idea about her soap’s fame despite spending more than 16 years playing Albert Square legend Whitney Dean on EastEnders.

She claimed that TikTok and their music passion brought them together last year. After searching for a video of Shona performing a song cover on his phone one night, David was able to message her without realizing that she was on primetime TV screens most nights.

According to David, “I saw she had a blue tick on TikTok, but I just assumed that she must be a really good singer or something,” Shona responded by asking if she was interested in performing a duet with him. Because David didn’t know what I did for a job, Sharon said it was funny. What do you do, he asks, as I recall. You sing or play music? I responded, “Well, really, I’m not allowed at the moment.” What do you mean, he asked? He had never watched EastEnders, and he didn’t even know I was there!

He doesn’t care what I do for a job, and finding someone who truly likes you for it can be challenging in this field. The pair then engaged in 90 minutes of phone conversation before continuing to speak. The 35-year-old soon left for the UK to be with her two months later. However, David was thrust into the unknown because he had already met Shona’s mother, father, sister, nephew, and the dogs in three days.

Since leaving EastEnders, Shona has launched a new career in theatre, having followed in the footsteps of Lily Allen and Cheryl by starring in 2:22 A Ghost Story. News of her split comes after I’m A Celebrity bosses were said to be keen on recruiting the soap legend for the jungle. A source told The Sun: “Shona is Walford royalty and hugely popular with TV viewers, she’s got bags of charisma and producers think she’ll be a great campmate.

I’m A Celeb will give her a unique perspective on her personality because fans haven’t seen much of her since Enders. For the new series, show bosses are already collaborating with some fantastic names.

In the opening round of the International Championship, Ronnie O’Sullivan defeated world number 76 Allan Taylor 6-5 in the final five frames to claim the title.

In Nanjing, China, O’Sullivan, a seven-time world champion, lost to his fellow Englishman by two frames three times.

O’Sullivan broke the records of 100, 119, and 129 from 4-2 down to take the lead for the first time.

Taylor had a 4-1 lead in mind, but he went in-off with his next shot after potting a red to make O’Sullivan need a snooker.

O’Sullivan, the fifth-ranked player, made a 48-yard clearance to reduce the deficit to 3-1.

Taylor made a nervy sixth frame where both players missed chances, but he was vintage O’Sullivan from the beginning because he punished any errors and demonstrated his exceptional cue ball control.

In the decisive frame, he was quickly sucked into a superb long red and the balls were perfectly placed to seal the victory.

O’Sullivan, who turns 50 next month, has a hard choice in the tournaments he enters.

Zhao safely through as Bai preserves his legacy

The tournament’s opening day, which ends on November 9, was scheduled to feature a mix of pre-qualifier, first-round, and second-round matches.

Zhao, a Chinese national, broke 135 in the opening frame of a 6-1 victory, who has struggled for regular victories since winning the world title in Sheffield in May.

Chris Wakelin, an unbeaten finalist at the previous year’s International Championship, lost to Jiang Jun, the world number 111, of China, 6-2 in round two.
