Deadly blast hits rally in Pakistani city of Quetta, officials say

Local media and a police official claim that at least 11 people were killed in an explosion at a rally held in Quetta, Pakistan, by the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M).

Police are conducting an investigation into the explosion, police official Athar Rasheed told Reuters on Tuesday.

At least 29 people were hurt in the explosion in the western city, according to the English-language Dawn news site.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly explosion.

NNPCL Appoints Odeh As Spokesman, Adewunmi As Relations Officer

Andy Odeh and Morenike Adewunmi have been appointed as the chief communications and chief relations officers by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Femi Soneye’s resignation as NNPC’s spokesperson two months after Odeh’s appointment was announced.

Morenike Adewunmi was appointed as the country’s chief relations officer in a statement released on Tuesday.

Odeh, who works in the oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting sectors, has more than 30 years of combined experience in communications and business administration.

He worked for Nigeria LNG (NLNG) for 26 years before joining the NNPC.

He also held a number of leadership positions, including general manager of external relations and sustainable development, business relations and development, business logistics and services, information management and technology, corporate communications and public affairs, government relations and regulatory compliance, and more recently.

“He is renowned for his contributions to significant brand advertising and public relations campaigns. He successfully led the rebranding of the business at NLNG and implemented one of the best-run micro-credit programs in host communities in Nigeria.

The NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting was also spearheaded by Mr. Odeh. He graduated from among others the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Adewunmi, a lawyer with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, is described by the NNPC as a legal professional.

According to the oil company, “her expertise is in stakeholder management and advocacy, particularly given her extensive tenure at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN).”

Tinubu Reverses Fresh Appointments In NTA, Returns Salihu Dembos As DG

President Bola Tinubu has reversed the recent appointments he made to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), directing Salihu Abdullahi Dembos’ appointment as director-general and Ayo Adewuyi’s appointment as executive director of news.

Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesman, made this known in a statement released on Tuesday.

He claimed that Tinubu reinstated the two senior executives’ positions before they abruptly lost them due to NTA management changes.

On August 20, the president made a number of new appointments to NTA, including Stella Din’s appointment as executive director of news and Rotimi Pedro’s appointment as director-general.

Additionally, Tinubu appointed Sophia Mohammed to NTA Enterprises Limited as managing director and Karimah Bello to lead the marketing division.

Onanuga stated that Dembos, who was appointed in October 2023, will now come back to his three-year tenure.

Adewuyi will complete his three-year tenure as the executive director of news, according to Onanuga.

“Dembos was appointed by President Tinubu as the television network’s general manager in October 2023.” He will now complete his three-year tenure,” the statement reads.

The President also ordered the Executive Director of News, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, to be removed from his three-year, 2027-end, three-year term. President Tinubu appointed Adewuyi in 2024.

The director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises were previously announced in the new directive.

The Tinubu-led administration has done this before with appointments.

Muheeba Dankaka was appointed executive chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) in August, shortly after the presidency’s decision to appoint her for a second five-year term was made public.

President Tinubu appointed Adewuyi in 2024.

The director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises were previously announced in the wake of the new directive’s effective appointment.

‘I landed iconic 90s Nickelodeon show role after making big change to myself’

A successful actor and director acknowledged in an important interview that he gave when he was a teenager that had a significant impact on his career that things could have been so different.

Without one choice during a crucial teen casting interview, Jamil Walker Smith’s situation might have been drastically different. When the actor and director, now 43, auditioned for a role in a show that quickly became a big hit in childhood entertainment, he was only 13 years old.

His success saw him land the part as the voice of Gerald in hit 90s animated comedy, Hey Arnold. And he later went on to star on other hit shows, such as Sister, Sister and Stargate Universe.

And talking to longtime pal and fellow voiceover actor on the show, Justin Shenkarow, Jamil revealed just how the role came about.

Jamil and Tom Borowski co-host Justin’s podcast Established in the 1990s. What was it like when you auditioned for the show, Justin quickly explained to his pal: “You know, I never found out.

Jamil replied: “What was it like? It was kinda weird. It was fun…. you know how it is. You go out for so many auditions you don’t remember any of them and then you book one and you’re just happy you’re on it.”

He continued, “I can recall that it was in Los Angeles on the Sunset Strip.” That is what I recall.

He claimed he can’t recall if there was a photo of the show at the time and that he was 13 at the time of the audition. Jamil continued, “I don’t remember,” while Justin replied that he had been shown one.

I am aware of this fact. I did it with less of a voice when I did it. Because of that, I’m probably sitting here right now because I probably would have been replaced after the first season because everyone’s voices change.

Justin later admitted to doing the same thing for his character Harold the bully while reflecting on his earlier behavior. Jamil continued, “It’s a cartoon but it’s a TV show. ” Explaining why he thinks Hey Arnold has endured the test of time. It resembles a sitcom in some way. A series is involved.

“It’s like real kids doing real things having real experiences in a cartoon world… it was about something. So I think people are hungry, starving, for something that is about something.”

He explained that the characters on the show weren’t caricatures and had a lot of people’s connections. Then Jamil said he thought Arnold’s character, who has grown up, should be a counselor and that the show might make a comeback.

He also joked that Gerald should lead the city and that they could be friends with one of their former flames to bolster the drama of the show.
