Shaughna Phillips reveals pregnancy panic after ‘intense’ situation overnight

Shaughna Phillips, a Love Island star, has been keeping in touch with her fans about her pregnancy on social media recently in order to welcome her second child with her partner Billy Webb.

Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has shared updates on her pregnancy ahead of giving birth. The reality TV star showcased her bump in a selfie and has revealed that she thought she was going into labour earlier this morning.

Shaughna, 31, who appeared on the ITV2 show in 2020, is expecting her second child with her partner Billy Webb, with her having announced that she was pregnant back in June. The couple are already parents to daughter Lucia, two, together.

Throughout the pregnancy, the former islander has kept fans informed. She recently shared a selfie of her current baby bump in a previous post. Her tummy was displayed while she was lying down while wearing a brown top and jeans.

Shaughna teased herself that she was going into labor in a video that she shared this morning on Instagram. She claimed to be experiencing “intense” Braxton Hicks, which the NHS refers to as “practice contractions.”

In the video message, she asked: “How did I used to go out like a clubbin?” How? I’m not sure. I had the most intense Braxton Hicks on my list when I woke up at two in the morning and was s***ing my pants. This is it, I thought. Thankfully, it wasn’t.

Shaughna continued, “And then I let Lucia fall asleep at half four so I knew I was going to be in for it,” and she woke up to about two and a quarter of a third of the time. And I’ve accepted, and Peppa Pig is playing downstairs. God is therefore aware of what today holds. God is the only one.

Later, she shared a picture of Lucia while she was unresponsive. Shaughna made fun of the caption that read, “Yeah hun, know the feeling,” in the caption that came with the photo of her daughter earlier today.

The updates come after Shaughna teased just days ago that she had reunited with her partner Billy. As previously reported, Billy was doing time in prison after pleading guilty to drug charges in 2023. He was sentenced to nine years and was held in an open prison, where inmates are able to leave the site, and was reportedly recently released.

Shaughna mentioned last week that she and Billy had reunited. The reality TV star wrote in the caption of the photo, “It all worked out,” as he kissed her cheek while holding their daughter Lucia.

According to a statement made by Shaughna, “We definitely wouldn’t have tried for this baby if he wasn’t going to be here.” Because he isn’t very good with blood, I’m so curious to see how he’ll behave at the birth. Therefore, I believe that listening to him speak will distract me from what is happening.

In an interview with the Mirror, published in June, Shaughna said at the time that Billy was allowed out on home visits for “a few days” each month. She was also said to have shared that he was due for early release and teased that he was expected to be home in time for their new arrival.

She later stated, “I am aware of the date that he is scheduled to return, but I don’t say that just because something could happen.” But I’m hoping he’s at home by the time my baby is due.

Foreign tourism to the US drops amid Trump-era policies

As a range of policies put forth by US President Donald Trump’s administration have made tourists less likely to travel to the country, the number of foreign visitors to the country is still declining.

According to recently released preliminary government data, foreign visits to the US decreased by 3% year over year in July.

Since Trump took office in late January, a trend has been in place almost every month. The US has experienced a decline in foreign visitors for five out of six months.

Brazilian tourist Luise Francine, who is visiting Washington, DC, told Al Jazeera, “Everyone is afraid, scared. There is too much politics about immigration.”

Travelers from other parts of the world have been alienated by Trump’s tariffs, immigration crackdown, and repeated jabs about the US acquiring Canada and, according to experts and local officials.

According to Ryan Bourne, an economist at the Cato Institute, Trump’s rhetoric and policies are at the heart of the decline in tourism.

The president’s trade wars and some of the fallout from concerns about getting entangled in immigration enforcement can be blamed for the decrease, according to the statement.

Travel research firm Tourism Economics predicted last week that the US would experience an 8.2% decline in foreign arrivals in 2025, a decrease from its earlier prediction of a 9.4% decline, but well below the country’s total before the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the company, “the sentiment drag has proven to be significant,” noting that airline bookings suggest that “the sharp inbound travel slowdown” of May, June, and July are likely to continue in the coming months.

Although the numbers for neighboring Canada and Mexico are not taken into account, Canadian visitors have been declining in particular. Tourism Economics estimates that there are fewer Canadians visiting the US this year than there were during the same time last year in 2024.

More Americans entered Canada in June and July in a significant U-turn, according to Canada’s national statistical agency.

Statistics Canada reported that this was the first time this had happened in nearly 20 years, with the exception of two months during the pandemic.

Visa integrity fee

Mexico, in contrast, is one of the few nations in the US to see an increase in tourism. According to US government figures, travel from Central America increased by 3 percent through May and that of South America, by 0.7%, compared to a decline of 2 % from Western Europe.

However, significant declines have occurred in nations that typically draw large numbers of visitors to the US.

Only two of the top ten overseas tourist-producing nations, Japan and Italy, experienced a year-over-year increase in July. Second-placed India’s viewership dropped by 5.5%, followed by China’s viewership, which dropped by nearly 14%.

A trade war and Trump’s (since-reversed) broadsides against Chinese students have raised concerns among Chinese tourists, while deteriorating relations between India and the Trump administration have turned out badly.

The US travel industry is plagued by rising travel costs, political uncertainty, and ongoing geopolitical tensions, according to Deborah Friedland, managing director of Eisner Advisory Group.

Trump has reined in some of the hard-liner measures that defined his first term since taking office for a second term in January, including a travel ban that targets primarily African and Middle Eastern nations, stricter visa approval regulations, and a rise in mass immigration raids.

Some people elsewhere perceived their own unwanted status as a result of the push for tariffs on foreign goods, which quickly became a defining feature of his second term.

Travelers from non-visa-waiver nations like Mexico, Argentina, India, Brazil, and China are hampered by a new $250 “visa integrity fee,” which will go into effect on October 1. According to the US Travel Association, the additional fee raises the total cost of the visa to $442, making it one of the highest visitor fees in the world.

The President urged Colombian business leaders to look into opportunities in the oil and gas sector and agriculture, noting that the nation’s young, expanding population offers a stable market and skilled workforce.

According to Vice President Kashim Shettima, the visit was a chance to rekindle ancestral ties brought on by colonialism and slavery, while maintaining that political and cultural affinities would foster a healthy economic partnership.

For stronger bilateral ties, Colombian Vice President Márquez cited aviation, visas, political consultations, cultural exchanges, and trade as areas of focus.

“I am very pleased to lead this visit to the land of our ancestors,” says the first black vice president of Colombia. She claimed that centuries ago, our ancestors were exiled from Africa.

She added that her visit would form the foundation for a lasting partnership based on social inclusion and cultural heritage.

According to Morquez, “We have had a meeting with the business leaders in aviation about the necessity of starting direct flights to Colombia,” pointing out that the African Union’s support for restoration and reparation would help strengthen ties with Latin America and the Caribbean.

Police Arrest Two Suspected Gunrunners In Katsina, Recover Weapons

Police operatives have intercepted two suspected gunrunners and recovered a cache of weapons during a recent operation.

Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

He said the operatives attached to the Katsina State Command, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted two suspected gunrunners along the Ingawa–Karkarku village road in the early hours of Monday.

Adejobi identified the suspects as Abdussalam Muhammed (25) and Aminu Mamman (23), both residents of Baure village in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, saying they were arrested around 4: 35 a. m. while travelling in a blue Volkswagen Golf car with registration number RSH-528 BV.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 1, 063 rounds of 7.62x39mm AK-47 ammunition, and 232 rounds of 7.62x69mm PKT ammunition concealed inside.

According to police authorities, preliminary investigations revealed that the arms and ammunition were being moved from Hadejia in Jigawa State to Safana Local Government Area in Katsina State for distribution to criminal networks operating in the region.

The suspects are currently in custody while further investigations are underway to trace the source of the arms, the intended recipients, and their wider criminal affiliations.

On his part, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the police operatives for the swift response, urging them to sustain the momentum.

He reiterated the Force’s commitment to dismantling organised criminal networks nationwide and called on the public to continue providing timely and credible information to aid security operations.

The Nigeria Police Force has once again recorded another significant breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to combat illegal arms trafficking and other forms of violent crime across the country.

On September 1st, 2025, at about 4: 35 am, a patrol team of police officers attached to the Katsina State Command intercepted two gun runners along the Ingawa–Karkarku village road, Katsina State. The suspects, identified as Abdussalam Muhammed (25) and Aminu Mamman (23), both male residents of Baure village in Safana Local Government Area, Katsina State, were apprehended following credible intelligence on their activities and swift tactical response of Police operatives.

Upon searching their operational vehicle, a blue-colored Volkswagen Golf with Reg No RSH-528 BV, the following exhibits were found concealed inside the vehicle, One (1) General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 1, 063 rounds of 7.62x39mm AK-47 ammunition, and 232 rounds of 7.62x69mm PKT ammunition. Preliminary investigations indicate that the illegal arms and ammunition were being transported from Hadejia in Jigawa State to Safana LGA in Katsina State for distribution to notorious criminal elements.

The suspects are currently in custody, and an in-depth investigation is ongoing to uncover the source, destination network, and possible affiliations of the recovered arms.

Now, The Inheritance star has revealed that she is going to extreme lengths to please her new man and he is teaching her to play the guitar, even though, by her own admission, things are not going too well.

She emailed Hello! “I’ve loved every minute of it since I spent the summer in England.” I’m currently appalling but hoping to get better because Billy is teaching me how to play the guitar.
