Molly-Mae Hague celebrated an incredible career milestone on Wednesday night at the 2025 National Television Awards when she picked up the award for Best Authored Documentary for her Amazon Prime series, Molly-Mae: Behind It All.

The former Love Island star, 26, was visibly shocked and equally as ecstatic when her name was called out as the winner as she beat the likes of Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden and Rob Burrow to the poll.

Following her sudden split with fiancé and professional boxer Tommy Fury last year, Molly-Mae’s documentary followed her journey of healing and trying to navigate a broken heart in front of the entire nation.

The six-part series, which quickly became the most watched programme on the streaming service when it first aired back in January, also unveiled Molly-Mae’s parenting struggles and gave an honest birds-eye view into what life looked like for her co-parenting her two-year-old daughter Bambi with Tommy, who was at the time, struggling with alcohol issues.

Molly-Mae’s first reality TV series after Love Island proved to be a huge hit and it ultimately ended in her picking up her first National Television Award – however not everyone is happy about the big win.

Given that the reality TV star was up against tough competition, including Amy Dowden, who was nominated for a documentary about her battle with cancer, Freddie Flintoff’s documentary following his near-fatal crash on Top Gear, and a film on Rob Burrow’s journey with motor neurone disease, many have insisted that the former Love Island star didn’t deserve to win because her documentary series wasn’t as emotional and poignant as the other nominees.

Despite scooping the award, Molly-Mae chose to dedicate her win to her fellow nominee, Rob. The Leeds Rhinos rugby league player, died in June, 2024, at the age of 41 from motor neurone disease. Taking to the stage, Molly-Mae used her moment to celebrate Rob and his widow Lindsey, telling the audience: “This one is for you Rob.”

During her speech, Molly-Mae said Rob’s story was “far more inspirational” than her’s, and that just to be nominated was “an honour”.

“Just to be nominated for this award was such an honour,” she shared. “I think as you guys saw, we were up against some seriously inspirational people in this category.

“To Lindsay, Rob Burrow’s wife and his children, his story was far more inspirational than mine could ever be. It was just incredible and touched me in more ways than I can explain. This one’s for you Rob, and to the other inspirational people in this category.”

Speaking to The Mirror after her incredible win, the YouTube sensation said that it only felt right to dedicate her win to Rob because motor neurone disease is ‘close to home’ for her.

“There were so many inspirational stories in my category and Rob Burrows documentary touched me so much. I know his wife Lindsey was campaigning for him to win this so I just felt that it was important to dedicate this award to him tonight,” Molly-Mae said.

“He is so inspirational and the awareness he raised around the disease is just incredible and it’s a cause that feels very very close to home for me.”

After her huge win, Molly-Mae said it meant the world to her to be recognised for her hard work and honesty about the struggles she has been through this year.

“Just speechless. Last night at the NTAs I shared a category with people whose stories will always be more powerful and inspirational than mine. I see that, I believe that and I want to acknowledge it again here.“It was only right to dedicate this award to the late Rob Burrow and his family and to the remarkable people in my category… this win belongs to them. I’m so grateful for the recognition but even more grateful to have stood alongside such strength and inspiration.“To everyone that voted… I am absolutely blown away. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Fitzpatrick helped by ‘stolen ball’ at BMW PGA

BMW PGA Championship – round one leaderboard

-8 L Aberg (Swe), T Vaillant (Fra); -7 C Jarvis (SA); -6 A Rozner (Fra), M Fitzpatrick (Eng), R Ramsay (Sco), J Lagergren (Swe)

Selected others: -5 J Rose (Eng), S Lowry (Ire), V Hovland (Nor); -3 T Hatton (Eng), R McIlroy (NI)

Matt Fitzpatrick believes his ball was stolen during a weather-affected first round at the BMW PGA Championship – but said “it was a good result” that may have helped him to a six-under-par 66.

The Englishman said the incident occurred after he went right off the tee on the 18th hole at Wentworth just as play was suspended for more than 90 minutes because of thunder and lightning.

When play resumed, he was able take a penalty drop rather than playing his provisional ball – which he believed saved him at least a shot.

Fitzpatrick is two strokes behind his playing partner Ludvig Aberg, who is tied for the lead with France’s Tom Vaillant.

“Someone from the public saw two lads running into the bushes, running out with a golf ball and so they can only think it was my ball,” Fitzpatrick said.

“I made a bogey six, but if we’d had to find it, we probably wouldn’t have.

“I’d then have had to play my provisional ball and it would likely have been worse. So, all in all, it was a good result. I’d have preferred rather than steal it, they’d chucked it back out on to the fairway.”

The weather delay on a rain-soaked afternoon left 30 players, including Europe’s Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, to complete their opening rounds on Friday morning.

With Sepp Straka the only absentee at Wentworth from Donald’s 12-man team for the biennial contest against the United States later this month, Aberg was the pick of his players.

The Swede, playing with Fitzpatrick in a nod towards potential pairings at Bethpage Black in New York, made three consecutive birdies to finish, with the highlight being a 50-foot putt on the 17th, as he drew alongside early starter Vaillant at the top of the leaderboard.

“I felt like once I got on the greens, I was rolling the putter really nice and tried to be aggressive with the speed. I managed to make a lot of putts, which is nice,” Aberg said.

“Any time you shoot that kind of score, I think you need to be good on the greens, and that was what it was today.

Mixed fortunes for Europe’s Ryder Cup contingent

South Africa’s Casey Jarvis enjoyed a run of five successive birdies to end up a stroke back on seven under.

Fitzpatrick is among four players a stroke further adrift after a round containing eight birdies, with bogeys on the ninth and 18th holes.

It was a day of mixed fortunes for Rory McIlroy, fresh from his victory at the Irish Open.

The Northern Irishman – playing alongside Ryder Cup team-mates Shane Lowry and Jon Rahm – began with a birdie but bogeyed the fifth and found the water on the final hole to end up five shots off the pace.

Meanwhile, Justin Rose, Viktor Hovland and Lowry – courtesy of a superb approach that set up a tap-in birdie on the 18th – are in an eight-man group at five under.

Two-time major champion Rahm showed his class as he recovered from four bogeys in his opening 11 holes to finish at one under.

There were flashes of brilliance from Tyrrell Hatton as he carded a three-under 69 playing with Robert MacIntyre, who went around in 71, in what could be a fiesty double act for Europe.

Tommy Fleetwood, who recently claimed a first PGA Tour title at the 164th time of asking at the Tour Championship, could only manage a one-over 73 despite having his good friend Rose, who celebrated with him in Atlanta, in his three-man group.

Rasmus Hojgaard, who will be Europe’s only rookie in New York, made two double bogeys as he recorded a two-over 74.

Israeli leaders heap praise on Charlie Kirk as a staunch ally of Israel

Washington, DC – Mere minutes after news broke out that American right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk was shot, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a social media post expressing his sympathy.

As Kirk was declared dead on Wednesday, Netanyahu and other Israeli officials rushed to eulogise the 31-year-old activist and emphasise his support for Israel.

“A lion-hearted friend of Israel, he fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization,” the Israeli prime minister wrote on X. “I spoke to him only two weeks ago and invited him to Israel. Sadly, that visit will not take place.”

That push, to portray Kirk as a fallen champion of Israel as much as of the US conservative movement, comes as many influential right-wing commentators have been increasingly critical of Washington’s unconditional support for its Middle East ally.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar called Kirk an “incredible friend” of Israel.

“Charlie represented the Judeo-Christian values that unite Israel and America,” he said in a social media post. “Above all, he was a fearless warrior for truth and freedom. He was murdered for that.”

No suspect has been detained for the killing of Kirk, a close ally of United States President Donald Trump, and the motives behind the killing remain unclear.

Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir paid tribute to Kirk on Wednesday, sharing a photo of the right-wing activist with an Israeli flag outside the Ibrahimi Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites, in the occupied West Bank.

“The collusion between the global Left and radical Islam is the greatest danger to humanity today,” Ben-Gvir said.

“Charlie Kirk saw the danger and warned about it. But the bullets of the despicable murderer struck him.”

In some of his final public appearances, Kirk – who regularly bashed Islam and Muslims – promoted the unfounded conspiracy theory that Islam and the political left are working together to undermine the US and Europe.

“Islam is the sword the left is using to slit the throat of America,” he wrote in a social media post on Tuesday, a day before he was shot.

Several Israeli politicians underscored Kirk’s ties to Israel while lauding his views.

For example, former Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz described Kirk as a “voracious defender of Judeo-Christian values, America & the State of Israel”.

The term “Judeo-Christian values” appeals to mainstream US conservatives, but critics say it aims to exclude Muslims and other religious groups from Western societies.

They also argue that it is ahistorical, given the hostility and anti-Semitism Jewish communities have faced in Christian societies in Europe over the past centuries.

But “Judeo-Christian values” were a recurring theme in the Israeli eulogies for Kirk.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich joined other Israeli officials in calling Kirk a “true friend of Israel”.

Kirk’s Israel views

Kirk was indeed a staunch supporter of Israel – but not without occasional misgivings.

Last month, he denied the well-documented Israeli-imposed starvation in Gaza, echoing Israeli officials’ falsehoods that the United Nations-declared famine in the territory is “pure visual warfare”.

Still, despite his years of pro-Israel advocacy, he was not immune to the ideas of the growing “America First” movement that has been questioning the benefits of Washington’s devotion to its Middle East ally.

As Israeli leaders lobbied Trump to bomb Iran in June, Kirk warned that the US president’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) base was opposed to the war.

“I can tell you right now, our MAGA base does not want a war at all whatsoever,” Kirk said on his podcast. “They do not want US involvement. They do not want the United States to be engaged in this.”

Kirk supported Trump’s crackdown on Palestinian rights campus advocacy, including efforts to deport Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil, which activists say violated free speech rights.

However, he sometimes spoke out against overreaches by pro-Israel advocates to censor the country’s opponents.

In May, he voiced opposition to a proposed law to penalise boycotting Israel.

“In America you are allowed to hold differing views. You are allowed to disagree and protest,” Kirk wrote on X at that time.

“We’ve allowed far too many people who hate America move here from abroad, but the right to speak freely is the birthright of all Americans.”

In July, he hosted a panel of young conservatives sceptical of the US-Israel alliance and appeared to express frustration with accusations of anti-Semitism against any criticism of Israel.

Man Utd’s Onana completes Trabzonspor loan move

Manchester United keeper Andre Onana has joined Trabzonspor on loan for the rest of the 2025-26 season.

The move has taken place before the transfer window in Turkey closes on Friday and follows the Cameroon international not playing in United’s opening three Premier League games.

“We would like to wish Andre good luck,” said United in announcing the deal, which is subject to international clearance and registration.

Onana’s only appearance for Ruben Amorim’s side this season came in their shock Carabao Cup exit at the hands of League Two Grimsby.

He has made 102 appearances for the club and was part of their 2024 FA Cup-winning side.

But his United spell has been punctuated by a number of mistakes and Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, 23, was signed on deadline day from Royal Antwerp in a deal worth an initial 21m euros (£18.1m) plus add-ons.

Margot Robbie stuns in risqué see-through dress on red carpet with Colin Farrell

Actress Margot Robbie opted for a very revealing shimmering outfit as she hit the red carpet at London’s premiere for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey

Margot Robbie stepped out in style in London as she stunned on the red carpet for the A Big Bold Beautiful Journey premiere. The actress, 35, wore a very revealing outfit that left little to the imagination as she posed for pictures at the event.

The Hollywood star sparkled in a lavish bejewelled gown. The glamorous attire is thought to be a tribute to the late Giorgio Armani, who died last week aged 91.

The outfit, from the Armani Prive spring 2025 couture collection, saw the shimmering see-through design cover Margot’s modesty but very little else. She accessorised her look perfectly, wearing diamond earrings, a cocktail ring and silver stiletto sandals.

She also wore a shimmering thong that could be seen through the gown.

The movie sees Margot star alongside Colin Farrell as single strangers Sarah and David. The story follows them as the get to relive important moments from their past to showcase how they got to be where they are today.

Colin was also in attendance and wore a shirt and tie combination with a long trench coat.

Margot’s latest appearance comes as the upcoming Wuthering Heights was blasted for being too raunchy. The classic novel is getting a steamy revamp coming to cinemas next year, but fans were left divided over the first trailer earlier in the month.

Known for her controversial erotic thrillers Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, Emerald Fennell’s next film based on the Emily Bronte classic will hit the big screen at Valentine’s Day 2026. It has already raised eyebrows with the casting of Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as young lovers Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff.

But after the release of the first trailer, readers and film fans alike were left unsure as to what to make of some raunchy and gruesome changes to the classic tale of toxic romance.

Fans picked out two moments from the trailer to have a go at. In one, there is a steamy exchange in which Robbie’s fingers are in Elordi’s mouth. The other is a grisly parallel in which someone’s finger slides into the mouth of a dead fish.

One Redditor said in a discussion thread: “Guess I’m the only one who thinks having fingers stuck in your mouth isn’t particularly sexy.”

To which another user responded: “But what about in a dead fish’s mouth?” And another demanded: “Why is someone fingering the fish mouth?! What is this movie???”

Another slammed the new adaptation, saying: “Could be a good movie who knows. But it’s clearly an absolutely dog s***, intentionally unfaithful adaptation of a brilliant book. Which is just annoying.”
