More than 250 media outlets protest over Israel murdering Gaza journalists

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) media freedom group claims that more than 250 media outlets in over 70 countries have staged a front-page protest highlighting the killing of more than 200 journalists during Israel’s occupation of Gaza.

There will soon be no one left to keep you informed about the rate journalists are being killed in Gaza by the Israeli army, according to the group’s general director, Thibaut Bruttin, in a statement released on Monday.

According to RSF, the protest, which was supported by the global campaign group Avaaz, was featured on the websites of news outlets like Al Jazeera, The Independent, La Croix and L’Humanite, Tageszeitung und Frankfurter Rundschau, as well as German and German newspapers.

Since the start of Israel’s war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, about 220 journalists have died, according to RSF data. According to an independent analysis conducted by Al Jazeera, at least 278 journalists and media professionals have been murdered by Israel in the last 22 months, including 10 from the network.

In two Israeli airstrikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, five journalists, including Al Jazeera’s Mohammad Salama, Reuters cameraman Hussam al-Masri, freelance journalist Mariam Abu Daqqa working for The Associated Press, Ahmed Abu Aziz, and Moaz Abu Taha, were killed.

In an Israeli airstrike on a tent sheltered by media workers outside the main gate of Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital earlier in August, six journalists, including Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif, were killed. Al-Sharif was the target of the strike.

Three other Al Jazeera employees, including cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, 25, and Mohammed Noufal, 29, were among the seven people killed in the attack, including three of the group’s victims: Mohammed Qreiqeh, a correspondent, Mohammed, a 33-year-old.

The protesters “demand that the Israelis’ reporters be free of impunity, that they be forced to leave the Strip, and that foreign journalists be given independent access,” according to the RSF statement.

The media outlet reported that the Israeli army had committed crimes against journalists in Gaza against four people and has filed four complaints with the International Criminal Court.

Since the start of the war, international media has been denied access to the Gaza Strip.

A select few outlets have covered reporters who are connected to Israeli military installations operating in Gaza under strict military censorship.

Love Is Blind star Bardha says she had ‘lucky escape’ as she details moment with Jed’s ex

Bardha, the ex-girlfriend of Love Is Blind, has admitted to having no desire to speak with her ex-boyfriend and shared a moment with his ex-girlfriend.

Season 2 of Love Is Blind UK has been a rollercoaster, with last week’s finale showing which couples tied the knot and the subsequent reunion episode last night revealing who has actually stayed together.

At the end of the Netflix show, shocked fans saw Bardha make the difficult decision to turn down a heartbroken Jed at the altar.

It was revealed during the reunion that the two have since broken up, despite her still-feirdest desire to date.

Additionally, Bardha told Jed she had no desire to see him again, and the former couple’s relationship appeared particularly ostentatious.

The actress sat down to talk about what had transpired in the days leading up to their wedding in an exclusive interview.

When asked to say “no” at the altar, Bardha said, “It was probably the worst decision I’ve ever had to make.” That choice was not something I wanted to make.

I went to him after the wedding, and I said I wanted to keep trying. I wanted to make it work because I really loved him, you know.

She then stated, “He didn’t want to… I don’t know if he didn’t want to, but he didn’t try.” I was losing a battle.

“It won’t work if you two put in the effort, and it would have no purpose.”

Then Bardha went on to explain how a confrontation with Jed’s ex-partner had added to their animosity.

She claimed that after arguing with him for three weeks, he asked me to get his ex-girlfriend to stop wearing my ring.

And I kind of figured out that she was more important than I am, and I was like, “What am I doing?” Why do I want something that he obviously doesn’t want?

I left, and I returned the following day to pick up my belongings. Since then, I haven’t spoken to him again and have no desire to.

She continued, “I don’t care what he’s doing, who he’s with, if anyone,” adding, “I don’t care what he’s doing or who he’s with.”

He allegedly acted differently than I did; he was not who he claimed to be. I think I’ve made it, and I’m grateful for it.

She quipped, “I feel like it might have been my spleen that told me no, if I’m honest, but I listened and I’m so glad I made that decision,” using fellow contestant Patrick’s well-known catchphrase.

In addition, the drama-packed reunion episode revealed that Sarover, Kal, Ashleigh, and Billy had called it quits after getting married, while Megan and Kieran had continued to live together.

‘I cheated to get on Countdown and was banned from The Chase’

James almost backed away from Countdown once he realized how bad he was and how he would “get destroyed.”

James from Countdown

A man who has appeared on some of the biggest UK TV shows has revealed how he cheated on Countdown, nearly pulled out of the show at the last minute, and ended up being banned from The Chase. James Belshaw, a 46-year-old Surrey bus driver, has appeared on more than a dozen of the UK’s top video game shows, including Pointless, The Weakest Link, Tipping Point, and Lingo. He has applied for TV shows since 2010.

Speaking to Spin Genie, James said: “The first thing I applied for was a paper application for Weakest Link but I didn’t hear back for a while. I also applied for Countdown, that was my first online application – there’s no face to face audition for Countdown. It was done over the phone.

They told me, “Right, we’re going to play the game now, so play it honestly. Despite not being particularly good at Countdown, I believed I was superior. On my computer, I had my keyboard, an anagram solver, and number solver. I’ll admit that I cheated. “

They informed me that I was on, he continued. Manchester was the location of the film. When I got to my hotel in Manchester, I sat down on the bed, turned the TV on, and the countdown started playing. I just thought, “Oh my God, I’m not good at Countdown, why am I here?” after watching the entire episode. ’

I called my wife and then my girlfriend and said, “I’m going to bail, I’m rubbish. I’m going to be destroyed. She advised me to “no, go through with it because you’ve applied for other things if you show up and show up.” Many of these people are freelancers [working on TV]. You become more aware of the people I’ve met on these shows who I can’t remember but who also remember me from other sources.

People who use a lot of TV often have a tendency to be quite open-minded about the truth because they don’t want them to believe they’ve done too much. “

James’ first TV appearance was on Coach Trip, he claimed. “My wife and I used to watch it a lot. The first series was in 2005 or something, and I was moved on to 2010, where they both ended it. After that, I thought, “This is brilliant,” and we applied and went through all the hoops.

Then I entered a position where I could apply for jobs. It used to be paper auditions, sending a form, and it was old-fashioned, but now it’s all online forms and Zoom, which is so much better because it makes people feel like they’re selling themselves, so they all have different strategies.

You really need to just turn it on when they get you to do a little piece of the camera, because some people just play a game based on the show. I believe my strategy was to apply for new shows that have never been on because they typically cast people who have done [TV] a little bit to get on shows.

“Quite a few of us actually exist. They are aware of our behavior on television and are aware that you won’t be like a Bullseye contestant from the 1980s, when I work in mines. I love watching all those old-fashioned contestants, and that is brilliant in and of itself. “

James and Alan Carr

James said one trick to help you get onto TV is having an interesting story. He said: “Me and my wife, we held the Guinness World Record for the longest kiss, and that was quite a popular story. But now that we’ve used it quite a few times, it’s probably less interesting. I think you can make an interesting story out of something quite mundane. If you think about what you like doing, there’s always some sort of quirk to it. If people go oh, so I like fishing, golf and breathing, you’ve got to really find an angle.”

However, he hasn’t always been successful, and one major performance would not allow him to. James responded, “I was cast on The Chase, I had a filming day, but they called me up and said, James, were you on Pointless?” Additionally, I didn’t include it on my form.

Then we applied and we jumped through all the hoops and then we got on it and after that I thought, this is brilliant.

“Then I just got into a zone of applying for things. Back then, it was paper auditions, sending a form, it was old school, obviously now it’s all online forms and Zoom, which does take something away from the audition process, because it was so much better going into a room of all different people and watching how they behaved as well, because it does something to people, it’s like they’re selling themselves, so they’ve all got different tactics.

“Some people are on it the whole time, whereas, you really need to just turn it on when they get you to do a little piece of the camera, you just play a game based around the show. The reason I was so successful getting onto shows, I think, is because my tactic was to apply for new shows that have never been on because they tend to cast people who’ve done [TV] a bit.

Abbey Clancy says ‘don’t you dare’ as she warns husband Peter Crouch he’s ‘on a thin line’

In a recent episode of their Therapy Crouch podcast, Abbey Clancy claimed her ex-husband, Peter Crouch, was in a “thin line” as she cautioned him to “don’t you dare.”

TV personality Abbey Clancy warned her husband Peter Crouch he’s “on a thin line” as he threatened to say an X-rated word on their podcast.

The model and former England international footballer didn’t agree on a topic, despite the couple’s witty banter becoming well-known for their hilarious banter.

During a playful exchange on their podcast, the pair moved onto the topic of “swearing” after Abbey’s cousin and podcast co-star, Ross, asked the couple whether they ever resort to using expletives to at each other.

We actually don’t swear at one another, according to Abbey. Do we”? before Peter had to refrain from uttering an expletive, saying, “I was very close to saying something there, but I refrained.”

She humorously warned him: “Don’t dare (say that word), because I will immediately dump you because I suspect that he was about to “drop a C-bomb.” You’ve already drawn a thin line.

While Peter apologised to his wife, “Why am I on a thin line?” You are in a thin line, exactly. You’re a young woman walking a tightrope.

According to Peter, “She keeps giving me an ultimatum – we either move or we do the house up,” according to another insight into their marriage.

How about we don’t do that, asks Peter, knowing that Abbey is eager to see a change in their way of life. She said, “I want to change a few cupboards, and there are a few things.” I said, “Ok, that sounds fine, but it’s been completely re-decorated,” I said.

The couple met in 2006 while Peter was playing for Liverpool and Abbey was working as a waitress in her native city. They walked down the aisle in a star-studded wedding ceremony in 2011.

In 2019, Peter put his football boots back on, and through their Therapy Crouch podcast, the couple have since revealed their romantic side to enthralled fans.

A recent episode saw Abbey said “we’re done” to Peter as she shared another insight into the couple’s home life. Peter both revealed their frustration with the school summer holidays. Peter, 44, said: “I can’t wait for this f*****g summer to be over.”
