As she described the tragic passing of her close friend, Sophia Hutchins, Caitlyn Jenner cried out. It’s currently on sale for £22.95 on Boots, which means that each candle costs only 95p, up from its usual price of £28.99.

Although it might not be the most expensive or flashiest calendar on the shelves, I really like this one because you can use all the products inside without any issues or leftovers. You can pop into the tea light holder behind door number one to get a different scent each day. Your home will smell amazing every day from December 1 through Christmas Day because each little candle will burn for a short period of time.

The eight distinct scents contained within the collection are all Yankee classics and genuinely smell lovely. My personal favorites are Amber &amp, Sandalwood and Silver Sage &amp, Pine, which are slightly less sweet than Christmas Cookie and Cinnamon Stick.

Additionally, the calendar’s packaging is given more positive reviews for its ease of recycling afterwards. It’s all cardboard, easily recyclable after December 24 and squashes down fairly flat, even though you won’t be able to reuse it year after year. The illustrations are also traditionally festive, which I like.

I would have liked to have seen a “special” candle behind door number 24, perhaps a slightly bigger one, if there had been one improvement. The second door has the same tea light behind it as the first door, as it is.

This Yankee Candle one is a lovely treat if you love (or are buying for someone who loves) home fragrance but are unable to commit to the expensive fragrance brand calendars Jo Malone London and Diptyque.

If you want to spend less than £50, opt for Yankee’s Fragrance Lover’s Book Advent Calendar, which has 12 votive and tea lights.
