‘I wrote Ozzy Osbourne a letter at school and received shocking reply two years later’

Ozzy Osbourne’s fans have been sharing heartfelt tales of their time with the now-deceased Black Sabbath star since his tragic passing at the age of 76 last month.

During his health issues, Ozzy Osbourne “terribly missed” his fans.

A fan of Ozzy Osbourne said he received a surprising package from the now late rockstar, after writing him a letter in his teens. While a student at a school in Millis, Massachusetts, Chad Hill and his felllow classmates were given an assignment to write a letter to a company, athlete, or celebrity using the school’s computer lab.

Chad tried his luck getting a response from his beloved Ozzy, who tragically passed away last month at the age of 76.

As part of the note, the now 46-year-old said he told the Black Sabbath star how much he “loved his music and how Randy Rhoads inspired [him] to play guitar”.

He responded to Newsweek, “And I requested an autograph.” At first, neither Chad nor his classmates got a response to their letters, until a surprise package showed up on his doorstep two years later.

Ozzy had returned a signed 8×10 photo of himself and a typed letter thanking Chad for his support. He claimed it “adds magic, wonder, and excitement” to his childhood and shared that he was “absolutely shocked.”

“The fact that it took so long told me that he truly loved his fans, it meant the absolute world to me,” he shared.

Ozzy’s gift “changed]his life,” according to Chad, who has since proudly displayed it in every home he has lived in.

It’s the only piece of “art” that has ever resided on my wall, according to the artist. He continued, “It typically hangs close to my guitars.”

It “reminds me that acts of kindness have real power and that music also have.”

He continued, “I mean that it costs money, takes time, and effort to go through what must have been thousands upon thousands of letters and actually read them. That was very important to me.

Chad shared his story on the platform Reddit following Ozzy’s death, and admits replies to the post had been “emotional” to read.

Many fans have shared their experiences meeting the heavy metal legend, along with Chad.

One named Brent Strong shared pictures of him with Ozzy on Facebook, and wrote of his experience: “Ozzy was sooooo nice. I asked him if he would write his name on my knuckles and draw a smiley face on my knee and autograph it, and he didn’t charge me… he loved my bat sunglasses.

He “really loved his fans,” according to legend, “I have never seen a celebrity fan of one of their fans.” The biggest heart was Ozzy! We will always be in love with U Ozzy! “(sic)

Ozzy admitted he was missing being with his fans during his health battle that caused a break from the stage.

He told Billboard News, “I like talking to my fans.” I terribly miss them. My goal is to return to the stage as soon as possible.

Euros hero Hampton offers support to Para Lioness

Shannen Headley

Due to her visual impairment, Kaitlyn Clark was told she would never play football, but now that she has seen her England Euro 2025 hero Hannah Hampton, who also has the same condition, continue.

Despite being told by scouts that she was not good enough, the 20-year-old is now a Para Lioness and plays for England on the Women’s Blind Football Team.

She told BBC Radio WM, who set up a surprise meeting with her hero, that it was “like a dagger to the heart.”

A visual condition where the eyes point in different directions, as described by the NHS, Hampton and Ms. Clark were both diagnosed with at a young age.

Over the past ten years, football has been a significant part of my life, she continued.

Hannah demonstrates that anyone with a disability can reach their full potential. She serves as a constant reminder of her dreams.

Ms. Clarke started playing blind football for England when she was 17 years old.

She explained to the BBC, “I started playing when I was nine, and then I started playing when other teams thought I wasn’t good enough.”

“I would be scouted by teams, they would watch me play and get interested in me, and they would later discover that I had a visual impairment and say they didn’t want me.”

I don’t let my visual impairment get in the way of my anger, which made me quite angry.

When an England scout invited Ms Clark to trials for the team’s visually impaired squad, she was playing for Southampton Football Club’s Para team, which included blind players.

“I’d always been turned down by teams, and England knocks on your door,” I thought.

“Unbelievable accomplishment”

Ms. Clark was taken aback when her hero, who saved two penalties to keep England in the top 2025 championship last month, entered the studio during her interview with BBC Radio WM.

There are so many things we had to put up with as we grew up with visual impairments, Hampton said, “I’m right around the corner, so I thought I couldn’t not]meet her] and my whole story is to go out and try to inspire people.”

The Lioness claimed that their situation did not make them unique in comparison to other football players.

She continued, “To hear your story was just incredible.

I appreciate your continued support of football and don’t let anyone turn you off.

Not many people can say that they represented their country, but just keep that dream alive, which is an incredible accomplishment in itself.

We are the same as everyone else, so hearing your story made me angry. We are humans, we have feelings, and we must continue to do so if it brings happiness.

Following the interview, Ms. Clark shared a message on Facebook.

Linfield could face European rematch with Shelbourne

Inpho

Linfield, the Irish Premiership champion, may face Shelbourne in a subsequent match for a spot in the group stages of the Uefa Conference League.

In the third qualifying round, the Blues take on Croatia’s Vikingur, with the winners facing either the League of Ireland champions or Croatia’s HNK Rijeka.

There is a real chance that Shelbourne’s Champions League qualifier, which ended up winning 2-1 on aggregate, will come back.

Linfield received a partial stadium ban, suspended for two years, and fines of €10, 000 (£8, 727) for the “racist and/or discriminatory behavior of its supporters” following the second leg of that game at Windsor Park.

Shelbourne lost 4-0 on aggregate to Qarabag in the Europa League qualifying match, while David Healy’s side defeated Lithuanian champions Zalgiris 2-0 at Windsor Park to advance to the third qualifying round of the Conference League.

If the Dublin side defeats their Croatian foes, they will be guaranteed a place in the Conference League group stage at worst, along with a play-off for a place in the Europa League against either Greek side PAOK or Austria’s Wolfsberger.

However, if they lose to HNK Rijeka, Linfield or Vikingur will have to play in the Conference League play-off.

Should Larne defeat Portugal’s CD Santa Clara, they could have a meeting with the League of Ireland’s opposition.

Is this colour the secret to a proposal? Princess Diana’s niece adds fuel to the theory

We examine why Lady Eliza Spencer’s outfit-of-choice may have influenced the proposal as Princess Diana’s lookalike niece, Lady Eliza Spencer, gets engaged.

Have you heard of the red colour theory?(Image: Getty/ Instagram)

Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Eliza Spencer, has officially said ‘yes’– and her proposal look is turning into a talked-about style moment. At age 33, Eliza accepted longtime partner Channing Millerd’s proposal during a romantic Santorini getaway, announcing the happy news via Instagram with the caption “Forever and Ever”.

Eliza poses in a striking resemblance to her aunt Diana in the romantic photos, wearing a plain sandal and delicate gold jewelry. The ominous red hue immediately invokes the “red nail theory,” or, in broader terms, the “romantic red effect.”

Red can be worn by TikTok users and color psychologists, partly because it is associated with subliminal cues, passion, and confidence, which is suggested by TikTok users and color psychologists. This theory dates back to 2021, when US aficionado Bridget Bahl tied the knot with her ex-husband while wearing bright red nails, and has since become widely popular on social media. She continued, saying that she thought the red color had a significant impact on the proposal that day because she had been wearing neutral nails for months hoping to get a proposal that weekend.

I tried five bodysuits that resembled the shape of Skims, and a £20 one did just that.

Red still has a strong sense of symbolic power despite its mixed (almost nothing) scientific support. Lady Eliza’s choice comes off as intelligent and, at the very least, incredibly chic. Red is known to evoke boldness and romance, and a committed partner might just be inspired. A red dress in that Greek sunset light, whether or not it was the proposal, almost made the entire scene feel cinematic.

Lady Eliza follows in the glam footsteps of her aunt, the late Princess Diana, who also favoured a red nail and a red dress combination. Most famously, her look for the ballet in March 1992 (just a few months before Eliza was born) showed how the colour can be worn to look regal and romantic, rather than harsh.

We believe Lady Eliza’s dress was the ideal one for the occasion, whether she was imitating her aunt’s style, subtly provoking a proposal, or dressing up for the romantic scenery. Here’s how to style her look for a special (or hopefully, special) date coming up that you want to look your best for.

Although the deep red Casette Silk Dress, which she purchased from Reformation, is the exact color, it costs £348. If you prefer that exact silhouette, you can purchase the midaxi piece in six other shades. Reiss’ Alula Back Detail Midi Dress in Red, a nearly identical color to the one she wears in the engagement photos, is a good choice.
