‘Best team in the world’ – Garnacho seals Chelsea move

Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United has been signed for $40 million by Chelsea.

The 21-year-old has a long-term commitment at Stamford Bridge that will continue until 2032.

Garnacho described joining this great club as “an incredible moment for my family and I.”

“I’m eager to get going,” I said. I watched the Club World Cup, and to join the world’s best team is special. “We are the best team in the world,” I said.

Maresca “gets his man,” says Maresca.

Enzo Maresca, Blues manager, weighs the importance of Garnacho’s signing.

At a press conference in August, the Italian revealed that signing a central defender and a left winger capable of supplying Gittens were his top transfer priorities.

Maresca was given the task of working with Maresca’s existing defensive options after the club only granted one of his requests, adding an additional attacker.

Enter Garnacho, who has been a long-term target since Carlos Cambeiro and Quique de Lucas were seen in person at Stamford Bridge in late January.

Chelsea allegedly tried delaying tactics to lower the Argentine’s price while attempting to fill a spot for Jackson, Nkunku, and Tyrique George to fill a void in the squad while working to fill his boots by selling him, despite knowing he was available.

Chelsea is getting what kind of player?

Garnacho has made 144 senior appearances for United since making his debut in April 2022. No United player won possession of the final third of last season more frequently than he did undoubtedly because he worked so hard off the ball.

However, he frequently comes under fire for being a waste in front of the goal.

Garnacho has scored 27 goals in his club’s history, one goal per every 5 3 games, and has twice his average double-double in each of the last two seasons. In the previous campaign, he made six Premier League appearances, which isn’t a bad thing for a United team that finished in 15th place.

Garnacho, however, had the fourth-lowest conversion rate of 7.1% among all forward players who attempted 84 league shots in 2024-25. His fifth-lowest expected goals per shot was also included, suggesting that when he does pull the trigger, it’s frequently from a less likely-than-expected scoring position.

What went wrong at Old Trafford?

Garnacho’s future at United has been the subject of a lot of conjecture since his exile from Manchester City in December of last year.

When the Argentina international was about to start a Europa League match with Viktoria Plzen, manager Ruben Amorim felt he was disregarding instructions.

Garnacho’s exile only lasted one game, in contrast to Marcus Rashford. But he didn’t start over for another month. By that point, Chelsea had already shown signs of interest, including a trip to Stamford Bridge from the players’ agents for their match against Wolves.

Garnacho was disappointed that the deal didn’t happen, even though it was close.

Compromiscing was only going to last for so long because Amorim doesn’t use wide forwards, which the player feels is best.

When Garnacho was left out of the Europa League final starting lineup, Amorim questioned why he had been chosen, prompting a critical social media post from his brother Roberto and a post-match interview from the player.

Garnacho was advised by the United coach to look for another club in response.

Liverpool lodge improved £35m bid for Guehi

Marc Guehi’s offer for 35 million dollars, which includes a 10% sell-on clause, has been improved by Liverpool.

Liverpool made a straight £35 million offer to Palace for Guehi earlier this month after holding club-to-club discussions.

Recent talks have rekindled, and it is thought that Liverpool have indicated they are prepared to include a 10% sell-on clause.

Palace responded by claiming they want a £35 million deal with additional bonuses of up to £5 million. In an effort to reach a deal before Monday’s transfer deadline, talks between the clubs are ongoing.

The Selhurst Park club made an informal suggestion to add Liverpool defender Joe Gomez as a sweetener in the Guehi deal during the most recent discussions.

However, it became clear that Palace would reject any formal offers to loan Gomez, which has left the two clubs negotiating for cash.

Guehi, the club’s captain, has stated that his contract at Selhurst Park will not expire when his deal expires next summer.

Guehi’s contract expires the following summer, but Palace manager Oliver Glasner has publicly stated his desire to keep him. However, the Eagles are reluctant to let him leave on a free transfer. A £65 million deal to sell Guehi to Newcastle was rejected last year.

Before the transfer window closes, Palace are attempting to sign two central defenders, which could allow Guehi to move to Liverpool.

The 19-year-old Jaydee Canvot, 19, is in advanced talks with them, and they are interested in moving the highly-regarded central defender.

They have approached Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji, but the Swiss international is said to have reservations about making the switch. They are also looking for an experienced centre-half.

Ousmane Diomande has been Palace’s first-choice target, but they haven’t been able to get the Ivory Coast international.

Another defender Palace are reportedly interested in is Roma’s Evan Ndicka.

When the window closes, Glasner said Guehi “has to” be a Palace player.

A replacement for Marc Guehi who can start in the Premier League is not a possibility, he added.

Since February 20, 1920, Katie Price has been dating Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater, but the couple has recently sparked split worries.

Katie Price has revealed why she doesn’t live with boyfriend JJ Slater almost two years into their relationship.

The former glamour model, 47, fell for Married At First Sight UK star JJ, 31, following her bitter split from fiancé Carl Woods in early 2024. Despite the 16-year age gap between Katie and JJ, the pair have appear to have gone from strength to strength throughout the duration of their relationship.

However, in recent weeks, the couple have sparked split rumours and fans have been left convinced that they have now gone their separate ways. In her most recent podcast episode of The Katie Price Show, the mum-of-five has finally explained why she and JJ do not currently live together.

Before confirming that reality TV star JJ is not involved in any way, Katie, who hosts the well-known podcast alongside her younger sister Sophie, confirmed that she is moving into a new home herself.

“JJ’s apartment and home are both owned by him,” he said. His home, which he rents out, resembles a brand-new show home. The last time I went there is the last I can recall. He actually has a good eye.

It comes after The Mirror revealed that Katie is said to be desperate for boyfriend JJ to stay loyal to her. The former glamour model has been dogged by controversy in recent weeks and apparently feels that JJ is one of the few people who has her back.

According to a source, “Katie has been going through a really difficult time right now, and she has been telling people she won’t let JJ betray her.” With everything else going on, she “needs” a breakup last. She needs JJ more than ever because he has always been trustworthy and because she has realized that a successful relationship doesn’t need all the drama and argument.

JJ, the Married At First Sight UK star, and Katie and Married At First Sight UK’s JJ started dating in February of that year.

She also stated on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast in May that “JJ is the most kind, genuine, easygoing, and chilled person.”

When Katie was seen holding a massive diamond ring on her left hand, there was rumor about an engagement last summer.

Break-up rumors have plagued the couple recently, and last month it was reported that JJ had forced Katie to “sort her finances” after giving their relationship an “ultimatum.”

Katie was allegedly “bored” with him, according to a source. In May, she also sparked rumors when she removed his entire Instagram footprint. Katie is said to be desperate for the romance to work out because she has so much going on right now.

She needs JJ on her side because she feels like she is currently being turned against the world, according to our source. She refuses to let him leave her. Katie is in the firing line, after all, given what has happened recently and how she feels under siege. She needs JJ’s assistance now more than ever because she feels bullied and ganged up.
