EFL concerned about Sheffield Wednesday fulfilling fixtures

According to the BBC, the English Football League is becoming more concerned about Sheffield Wednesday’s chances of winning their Championship games this year.

Under the control of Thai businessman Dejphon Chansiri, the Owls are experiencing a growing financial crisis, including paying HMRC late fees, multiple defaults on players’ and staff salaries, and mounting debts.

The club has terminated several first-team players who have exercised their contractual rights, parted ways with manager Danny Rohl, and closed its Hillsborough stadium’s North Stand due to safety concerns.

The club has a first-team squad of only 14 players, with more likely to departing on August 10, but their championship season is set to begin on August 10.

Additionally, The BBC has learned:

One player, who spoke unnamed to the BBC, claimed that the club had left players in the dark and had not given them any information about what the future holds.

In March, May, and June, wages were paid late, and earlier this week, players were informed that July’s payments would also be delayed.

Players who have received late payments for two consecutive months are entitled to give their notice, which effectively ends their contracts right away and gives them free agents.

Max Lowe, an English full-back, is the most recent to exercise that right, with other players considering the same thing.

Lowe and Barry Bannan, who both have contracts with the club, are listed on the current roster, but they also include former captain Barry Bannan, whose contract expired earlier this summer, and they are expected to close negotiations on a move elsewhere soon.

Due to an embargo over late fees owed to other clubs, Wednesday are also currently unable to pay player transfers in the next three windows.

The EFL charged the club and Chansiri with breaking its rules by failing to pay wages at the beginning of June. Because written submissions are still being worked through, those cases have not yet been heard.

The PFA’s (PFA) head, Maheta Molango, described the situation at the club as “shocking” and “not tolerable.”

The PFA is reportedly working with the club’s players to understand their legal and contractual rights and how to defend against breaches.

Fans have recently criticized Chansiri for demanding that he sell the club.

In June, Chansiri claimed to have rejected two separate bids for the club, each worth £30m and £40m, from potential buyers.

He added, “I take full responsibility for failing to fulfill my current obligations, but I also have to make sure that Sheffield Wednesday is sold to the right people with the necessary credentials to sustain the club”

Clive Betts, a Sheffield South East MP and lifelong supporter of the club, previously said Chansiri needed to sell Wednesday to stop the club from completely crumbling. “We as fans deserve better.

You have no right to ask me to leave, Chansiri has frequently argued with fans and said that in 2023.

Sheffield Wednesday Fans’ Trust said to Chansiri in a statement released this summer, “You are the one who is killing the joy of supporting a football team for tens of thousands of people.”

Sheffield City Council issued a North Stand-related prohibition notice this week. Before the work to fix the problem has been completed, spectators are prevented from entering the stand.

Sarah Ferguson plans start selling ‘eco-nappies’ in brand new career move

The Duchess of York has made an extraordinary career change when she begins selling eco-friendly nappies, which she claims will change the world when it comes to protecting the environment.

Sarah Ferguson has sold everything from fountain pens to food blenders, along with becoming a best-selling author, a podcast host and a period as an ambassador for Weight Watchers.

The Duchess of York is now embracing a brand-new business venture with an innovative product in the forefront. With a new revolutionary nappy, Fergie, a devoted mother and grandmother, is entering the market for baby products.

Sarah, who is the former wife of Prince Andrew, has four grandchildren through her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Her new venture comes after news that Prince Harry will ‘never be forgiven’ by two major royals despite reconciliation hope .

She claimed in a statement to the Daily Mail that “I’ve made a napkin that’s environmentally friendly.” Being a grandmother, I find it very exciting because I have more grandchildren and feel the need for compostable diapers.

“It’s called the Greater Good,” Fergie told the publication of the project, before explaining that the product is not exclusively her creation, but one which has emerged from a collaboration with Dr Jason Graham-Nye and his wife Kim, who was once named among Fortune magazine’s Ten Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs.

Fergie explains that the first diaper made of compostable material was created in Samoa. Sarah said the eco-friendly nappy will stop the frequently used baby items from ending up in landfills as a result of a campaign against microplastics and biodegradable products.

“There are 380,000 nappies changed a minute, so it’s a really good solution,” said the duchess. A source close to the Duchess has further told the Express that the project will have a major charitable focus.

Her role as a grandmother to Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice’s two daughters, who both have daughters, has served as inspiration for the project. Along with August and Ernest Brooksbank and Sienna and Athena Mapelli Mozzi, Sarah is also the step-grandmother of Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice’s stepson.

Sarah, a devoted grandmother, has frequently expressed pride in her adoring children. She previously said, “Baby August, baby August, you’re phenomenal. ” He’s a very strong young man. I’m hysterical, according to August.

He flirts with me all the way home, and it’s so funny when I look at him because I make him laugh. Just shows you, boys. Boys! “

Sarah continued, “I read them bedtime stories,” in another interview with Metro. I’m playing trucks with August because he’s such a small chap, but that’s okay if he wants to play with Barbie dolls in the future.

A popular American metal band have been forced to cancel multiple tour dates after their drummer suffered a serious injury leaving him unable to play.

Animals as Leaders was set to perform in Australia, Mexico and South America, but have pulled out just a few weeks before their first show, which was set to be held in Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico.

The band shared the news in a post on social media which read: “To our fans in Mexico, South America and Australia. We have some unfortunate news. We’re going to have to cancel our upcoming tour dates.”

The post continued: “Matt [Garstka] sustained a serious arm injury that requires surgery, and there’s no way we can perform without him. Rather than leave things up in the air, we’re calling it now and putting our full focus into writing the next Animals As Leaders album.” It comes after reports Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set for new ‘goldmine’ offer – but could face issue.

Animals as Leaders confirmed that fresh material was being planned, but added that they were aware that the news was “sucks”. We don’t take canceling lightly, they say.

Matt claimed in his own post that he had a “pretty serious injury.” He told supporters, “I’m on the other side of surgery, but it’s still going to take two to three months before I’m back to it,” he said.

“Of course, I’m going to do all the right things, but I’m really sorry that we have to postpone these tours for South America, Mexico, and Australia.

I was eager to play and advance, but I still need to heal, I mean, do the right things to heal properly and maintain longevity.

He promised to pay it forward and thanked everyone for their understanding.

In the comment section, other musicians offered their support. You’re the goat, brother, said Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande. You’ll return stronger than ever. “Dang dude, I’m so sorry to hear this,” said Alex Rudinger, who has played in the bands Conquering Dystopia and the Faceless. I’m praying for a quick recovery, man. &I hope you’re doing well.

“Sorry, Matt! Hope you recover quickly, and Periphery’s Matt Halpern left a red heart under the post.

Fans were also quick to share their opinions, with one saying, “This is how good AAL is. Nobody can compensate for the wounds that someone experiences. Matt, get well soon! Another said, “I don’t know how Matt could be any better as a drummer, but a bionic shoulder is probably a good way to start.”

A third person said, “Whenever I see these posts, I always worry that it’s the band announcing a split.” Although it isn’t that bad news, it is still not. Hope Matt recovers quickly.

Conor Coady has been signed by Wrexham from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £2 million.

The 32-year-old England defender has agreed to a two-year contract with the option to extend it.

Wrexham are gearing up for their first full-year return to the second tier after 43 years by signing Coady, another significant statement of intent.

This summer, they have already broken the club transfer record twice, first with Nottingham Forest’s Lewis O’Brien and then Empoli’s Liberato Cacace.

Wrexham are likely to win the game again with the signing of Wales and Ipswich Town forward Nathan Broadhead in the $7.5 million deal.

“Over the moon,” I said. I’ll be honest and say it’s a special day.

“We’ve all seen the club’s actions over the past few years, and for me to join is truly special, and I can’t wait to meet the boys and begin.”

Coady led the Wolves team that twice placed seventh and advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals. He has made 198 Premier League appearances.

He also played for England in the 2022 World Cup and the Euro 2020 games, earning 10 caps.

In the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay, Great Britain won their first gold medal at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

In the final race of day six, world champions Matt Richards, James Guy, Jack McMillan, and Duncan Scott won in six minutes, 59.84 seconds.

In the final leg, Scott was cheered home by his team-mates, who finished more than a second ahead of his Chinese foe, with Australia coming in third.

With the victory, GB reclaims the 2023 title they won.

Ben Proud, who finished sixth fastest in the men’s 50-meter freestyle semi-finals, has a chance to win another medal for GB later this week.

Luke Greenbank placed eighth in the men’s 200-meter backstroke final, while Angharad Evans placed fifth in the women’s final.

Qin Haiyang, a native of China, earlier celebrated a second gold at the championships by punching the air before waving his arms wide to the cheers of a crowded audience.

Ippei Watanabe of Japan won the silver medal, and the Netherlands’ Caspar Corbeau took the bronze.

Qin, 26, won the 100-meter breaststroke earlier this week, and he is returning to form after failing to qualify for the 200-meter breaststroke final at the previous year’s Paris Olympics.

When he was implicated in a significant doping scandal, his preparations for the Olympics turned disastrous.

Before the 2021 pandemic-delayed Tokyo Olympics, Qin was named among 23 Chinese swimmers who had tested positive for a prescription heart medication.

The swimmers were not subject to sanctions because the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) accepted the Chinese government’s claim that contaminated food led to the positive tests.

In another instance, defending champion Marrit Steenbergen denied 200-meter champion Mollie O’Callaghan a sprint double as the Dutchwoman won the 100-meter freestyle.

In the men’s 200-meter backstroke final, Olympic champion Hubert Kos and South African’s Pieter Coetze squared off fiercely.

Another Olympic champion, the American Kate Douglass, won the women’s 200-meter breaststroke gold.
