My Chemical Romance fans left ‘devastated’ as they scramble to buy ‘extortionate’ tickets

Desperate fans of the nostalgic punk rock band have been waiting for years to finally see them live after a short hiatus – but these ticket prices have left them feeling furious

Emo music fans were sent into a frenzy this morning as they tried to buy “extortionate” tickets to see their favourite rock band from the 2000s.

Tickets went on sale today for My Chemical Romance, as they announced two UK tour dates to celebrate 20 years of their album The Black Parade. Following their sell-out run of US shows. And, after much teasing, the band are set to play the iconic Wembley Stadium in July 2026.

Made up of frontman Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro and Frank Lero, the American group will be bringing their nostalgic tunes and punk rock energy back to the UK for the first time since their reunion tour in 2022. Although as fans fought tooth and nail for tickets, they were left in shock at just how much it would cost them.

One person shared their disappointment, writing on X: “I am number 79,536 in the queue for MCR in London next year, and the prices that are quoted are criminal. f*** dynamic pricing.”

Another fan wrote: “Anybody else think they were gonna have enough for tickets only to be devastated by the prices?” While a third said: “I’ve never seen MCR live, and I would do anything so me and my brother could see them. Let some stroke of luck strike me down with cheaper tickets closer to the date.”

Adding to the frustration, someone shared: “Just took a look; finally getting through the queue for MCR long live the black parade tickets…. Yeah, I like MCR, but those prices are insane. GTFO!” Meanwhile, another ticket buyer commented: “I’m not okay after seeing those Wembley gig ticket prices.”

The band firmly cemented themselves within popular culture with their multi-platinum-selling album, The Black Parade, in 2006, and this tour is a celebration of its work, 20 years on. It carried strong themes of politics, fascism, death and the afterlife that resonated with fans of the genre, so much so that 20 years on, people are willing to cough up a lot of money to hear it live.

Ticketmaster claimed that shows have been priced in advance of the sale, ranging from £58.85 to £268.85 (including fees), along with a handling fee of £2.50 per order, NME reports. But it wasn’t long before the tickets were already finding themselves up on reselling sites.

A frustrated fan shared in line: “People already advertising/selling tickets for My Chemical Romance on Twitter, and I’m still in the f****** waiting room, I hate buying concert tickets man, there’s got to be a better way.” Meanwhile, another fan added: “Not people selling My Chemical Romance tickets already, and I’m still 20,000 people behind in the queue.”

It was reported by the news outlet Joe that front pitch standing tickets were priced at £141.90, with main pitch standing at £100.65 and seated tickets ranging from £58.85 to £141.90, dependent on their tiers. For fans hoping to get their money’s worth, rumours are already beginning to swirl that the band could be making a special appearance at next year’s Download Festival, in Donington, and so they could be in with the chance of seeing them reunite once again.

Lucy Mecklenburgh has shocked fans after revealing an “inappropriate” incident with her fiancé Ryan Thomas’ brothers. Lucy, 33, joined the Coronation Street star, 41, and twins Scott and Adam, 37, on their podcast where the mum-of-two lifted the lid on the “weird family”.

Revealing that Ryan’s brothers wolf-whistle when she’s trying on clothes, she shared: “This family’s weird. Not normal.” Looking at Scott and Adam, she continued: “The other day you [were] filming TikToks at ours and I was trying to try on clothes for holiday and every time I came out in an outfit, they were both wolf-whistling me. This is so inappropriate.”

To this, Ryan laughed and admitted: “I love it though.” It comes as the former TOWIE star admitted that she and the dad-of-three sleep in separate rooms.

In hysterics after Lucy’s bombshell, reality star Scott, who quit Love Island All Stars earlier this year, joked: “Me and Adam were like ‘oh, I like that one.’” Lucy then added: “Basically the only tight dress I came out in they were wolf-whistling me.”

Still chuckling, Ryan shared: “They were sat there like ‘she’s fit you know’.” Meanwhile, happily married dad-of-two Adam joked: “Scott was like, ‘we’re gonna come round here more often’.”

Responding to the podcast, which has racked up 200,000 views on TikTok, some fans thought the Thomas brother’s behaviour was weird, as one posted: “Not normal.” Meanwhile, another mused: “I think Scott fancies Lucy.”

However, others thought it was just “family banter”, as another replied: “Love this family banter” as a second gushed: “I absolutely love this family.”

It comes after Lucy spilled the secrets about her sleeping arrangements with Ryan. The reality star and former Coronation Street cast member, who have been in a relationship since 2017, now live in Manchester with their two children.

However, Lucy revealed the couple have separate rooms due to Ryan’s ‘horrendous snoring’. She shared: “Basically we sleep in separate bedrooms because Ryan is a nightmare sleeper.” She went on to say that her fiancé snores and talks in his sleep.

Scott teased: “He always wants a cuddle.” Lucy responded: “I mean, that is annoying.” Sharing her reasons for sleeping separately from her partner, she then shared: “Basically, Ryan snores, he sleep talks, he whacks me in his sleep.”

She added: “Just to get a good night sleep and that’s just become normal now.” Lucy later shared that she isn’t always alone though, with her saying that she sometimes has the couple’s five-year-old son in the bed with her.

Earlier on the podcast, Lucy said that she considers the couple’s sleeping arrangements to be “normal”. Speaking about spending the night apart from the dad-of-three, she said: “I’ve spoken to other people and it’s pretty normal in their house [too].”

How the world is reacting to Israel’s settlement plan in occupied West Bank

Israel’s announcement that it will illegally build thousands of homes in a highly controversial development in the occupied West Bank – in a move Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich boasted “buries the idea of a Palestinian state” – has drawn widespread international condemnation.

Smotrich announced Thursday that he was pushing ahead with long-frozen plans for the  E1 area settlement project that would connect occupied East Jerusalem with the existing illegal Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim, located several kilometres to the east.

The planned settlement, which was shelved for years amid opposition from the United States and European allies, would comprise more than 3,400 homes for Israeli settlers on Palestinian-owned land that experts say is vital for any future territorially contiguous Palestinian state in the West Bank.

Smotrich said the development was being revived as a response to plans by other countries to recognise a Palestinian state.

But the response from the rest of the world has been scathing, with governments describing the move as a blatant violation of international law that would fuel regional instability and leave the possibility of a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict in tatters. Here’s an overview of the reactions so far.

Palestine

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said the E1 development, in combination with the war in Gaza and escalating settler violence, would only lead to further escalation, tension and instability.

He said he held the US responsible for halting Israel’s expansionist actions, and noted that the settlement announcement came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had spoken of his vision for a “Greater Israel”.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, called for international intervention to halt the settlement plans.

It considered the E1 settlement “a continuation of the occupation’s plans to undermine the opportunity to establish the Palestinian state on its homeland, weaken its geographical and demographic unity, entrench the division of the West Bank into isolated areas surrounded by a sea of settlements, and facilitate the completion of their annexation”.

Qatar

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs slammed the move, saying it “reaffirms Qatar’s unequivocal rejection of the Israeli occupation’s policies aimed at expanding settlements and forcibly displacing Palestinian people, measures intended to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state”.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry condemned the settlement plans “in the strongest possible terms”, saying they were a violation of international law and a serious threat to the possibility of a two-state solution.

In a statement, it called on the international community to “assume its legal and moral responsibilities, protect the Palestinian people, and fulfil their legitimate rights, including recognition of the Palestinian state”.

Jordan

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the move in the “strongest terms”. The ministry’s spokesman Sufyan Qudah affirmed his country’s “absolute rejection and condemnation of this settlement plan and the illegal Israeli measures that constitute a blatant violation of international law and international Security Council resolutions”.

Qudah warned against the continued expansionist policy of the Israeli government in the occupied West Bank, which the ministry said “encourages the perpetuation of cycles of violence and conflict in the region”.

Turkiye

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said the settlement plan “disregards international law and United Nations resolutions” and “targets the territorial integrity of the State of Palestine, the basis for a two-state solution, and hopes for lasting peace”.

It reaffirmed Turkiye’s support for an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

United Kingdom

British Foreign Minister David Lammy said the plan must be stopped.

“The UK strongly opposes the Israeli government’s E1 settlement plans, which would divide a future Palestinian state in two and mark a flagrant breach of international law,” he said in an emailed statement to the Reuters news agency.

Germany

The German government, a strong supporter of Israel, urged Israel to “stop settlement construction” and said it “strongly rejects” the plan for the new development

“The settlement construction violates international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions,” a spokesperson for the Foreign Office in Berlin said.

“It complicates a negotiated two-state solution and an end to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, as demanded by the International Court of Justice,” he added.

Spain

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares called the expansion plan “a new violation of international law”.

“It undermines the viability of the two-state solution, the only path to peace,” he said in a social media post.

(Al Jazeera)

United Nations

The United Nations urged Israel to reverse its decision. “It would put an end to prospects of a two-state solution,” Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, told reporters.

“Settlements go against international law … [and] further entrench the occupation.”

European Union

The European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas also slammed the plan as a “breach of international law” that would further undermine a two-state solution.

“If implemented, settlement construction in this area will permanently cut the geographical and territorial contiguity between occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank and sever the connection between the northern and southern West Bank,” said Kallas.

“The EU urges Israel to desist from taking this decision forward, noting its far-reaching implications and the need to consider action to protect the viability of the two-state solution.”

She called on Israel to halt its settlement construction altogether, saying its settlement policy, combined with ongoing settler violence and military operations, were “fuelling an already tense situation on the ground and further eroding any possibility for peace”.

Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also denounced the plans, saying the Israeli occupation and settlement expansion were illegal under international law, United Nations resolutions, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and must end immediately.

The intergovernmental organisation urged the international community to take responsibility, hold Israel accountable, and impose sanctions in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

Israeli human rights group

Israeli advocacy group Peace Now warned that the move was “guaranteeing many more years of bloodshed”.

“The E1 plan is deadly for the future of Israel and for any chance of achieving a peaceful two-state solution,” it said in a statement.

“There is a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to the terrible war in Gaza – the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel – and it will ultimately come.”

United States

Israel’s key ally, the United States, had no immediate words of criticism for the proposal. Asked about the settlement development, a spokesperson for the US State Department said Washington was focused on ending the war in Gaza and ensuring Hamas will never govern that territory again.

Wednesday’s Weems star Gwendoline Christie’s height, past roles and Netflix return

Gwendoline Christie is returning to Netflix’s Wednesday, but how tall is the Weems actress and where have you seen her before?

Netflix thrilled fans yesterday by unveiling a new trailer for Wednesday season 2 part 2, which featured the return of several beloved characters.

In a surprising development, it looks like Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) will be making her comeback in season 2, despite meeting her end in the inaugural season of the Netflix series.

Nevertheless, it appears she won’t be returning to the land of the living, but will instead serve as a fresh spiritual mentor for the show’s protagonist Wednesday (Jenna Ortega).

As Christie makes her anticipated return to our television screens, viewers have been left wondering about the acclaimed Game of Thrones star’s tall stature and what her fresh role involves.

How tall is Gwendoline Christie?

Gwendoline Christie’s stature measures 6ft 3in, with the actress reaching 191cm in height.

The beloved star has previously revealed how her considerable height resulted in her being bullied when she was younger.

She was additionally informed she would never make it as a performer due to her towering frame, but that proved to be completely wrong. Christie has since revealed that these doubters only spurred her on to chase her dream of acting.

Where have you seen Gwendoline Christie before?

Besides Netflix’s Wednesday, fans of Severance might have noticed Gwendoline Christie gracing their screens earlier this year, as she took on the role of a mysterious Lumon employee in the Apple TV+ thriller.

Game of Thrones enthusiasts will also fondly remember her for her portrayal of the legendary Brienne of Tarth, a role that catapulted her to international stardom.

Moreover, Star Wars aficionados may recognise Christie for her role as First Order stormtrooper Captain Phasma in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, a part she has labelled as “revolutionary”.

EPL: Big-Spending Liverpool Begin Title Defence, Gyokeres Seeks Scoring Start Vs Man Utd

Reigning champions Liverpool kick off the Premier League season on Friday with Europe’s richest league strengthened by a remarkable £2 billion ($2.7 billion) spending splurge.

Liverpool will include £100 million midfield signing Florian Wirtz and new forward Hugo Ekitike in their squad to face Bournemouth at Anfield, among a handful of new recruits.

They are favourites to retain their crown, but the unknown factor is the potential effect  of the tragic death of Portuguese forward Diogo Jota in a car crash in Spain in July.

Arsenal, one club hoping to topple Liverpool, face an immediate test of their title credentials against a revamped Manchester United on Sunday.

Newcastle are set to be without unsettled star striker Alexander Isak for a tough trip to Aston Villa — the Swede is wanted by Liverpool.

Here are several issues to watch on the opening weekend:

Big-spending Liverpool seek harmony

Liverpool have changed their careful shopping habits and suddenly outspent their rivals, overhauling a squad fresh from winning the league.

Only once since 2007, when Manchester City did it in 2019, have the Premier League champions been the biggest-spending English club in the market.

A spree that has already seen Liverpool’s US owners approve £260 million on Wirtz, Ekitike and defenders Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, is far from over with Isak and Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi linked with moves to Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have been sold.

The transition has shown teething problems in pre-season with a slick attack let down by a porous defence.

Manager Arne Slot is confident his side are ready as they seek to retain the title for the first time since 1984.

“I think we’ve lost five to six players that played quite a lot of minutes for us last season and we brought in four new ones, so then it’s normal that there’s a little bit of adaptation,” said Slot.

“But we are definitely ready for the league to start.”

Sesko and Gyokeres seek scoring start

Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are set to make their Premier League debuts for United and Arsenal, respectively, at Old Trafford after a summer that could have seen them line up the other way on Sunday.

Arsenal were linked with a move to Sesko for over a year before deciding to bet on Gyokeres as the man to fire them to a first Premier League title since 2004 for a fee that could rise to £66 million.

The Gunners have finished second for the past three seasons, lacking a clinical finisher to take that final step towards being champions

Gyokeres netted a remarkable 97 times in 102 games in two years at Sporting Lisbon, much of which came under United’s now-manager Ruben Amorim.

Instead of being reunited with the Swede, Amorim has overhauled his attack with the signings of Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha at a combined cost of over £200 million.

United, one of the world’s richest clubs, had to spend big after their worst season since being relegated in 1974.

In Amorim’s first year in charge, the Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League and failed to qualify for Europe, losing the Europa League final.

Both clubs desperately need a fast start and the battle between the two new number nines will go a long way to deciding the outcome.

Villa and Newcastle chase ‘big six’

As the Premier League’s traditional “big six” of Liverpool, Manchester City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham have flexed their financial muscle in the transfer market, Villa and Newcastle have been squeezed out.

Constrained by the need to meet financial sustainability rules, Villa’s only major signing has been Ivorian striker Evann Guessand from Nice.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has had to field constant questions about Isak, who sat out pre-season preparations in a bid to force through a move to Liverpool.

Despite having Saudi owners, the Magpies’ attempts to replace the Swede have repeatedly fallen through, with most of their targets going elsewhere.

But both Villa and Newcastle have consistently outperformed some of the “big six” in recent seasons and will be targeting Champions League qualification again this season.

Princess Andre breaks silence as she’s quizzed on dad Peter and mum Katie Price’s feud

Princess Andre has spoken out after her dad Peter Andre unleashed a scathing statement towards ex-wife Katie Price. The statement came as the fallout between the pair intensified as Princess, 18, released her debut solo TV project.

The teen shared her life on screen in ITV documentary The Princess Diaries. And while dad Pete, 52, featured throughout, Katie was fuming that the producers opted to go ahead without input from her.

Now, after her dad’s outburst, Princess has broken her silence on the feud. Princess addressed the feud as she answered a question about her parents on Snapchat. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss.

One fan asked her on the platform: “Does it affect you even now when your mum and dad don’t get on?’

Princess then said in a video on the platform: “To be honest it doesn’t affect me. At the end of the day, they broke up when I was two years old so I don’t even have any memory of them being together.”

Writing on top of the clip, she added: “I love my mum and dad and that’s all that matters xxx.”

It comes after her dad Peter Andre shared an Instagram post in which he raged: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.

“The latest comments about my children’s welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight.

“For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement.”

He went on: “I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children. In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims.

“She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today.

“Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”

Peter released a statement last night on his ex-wife Katie Price

Following his claims, a spokesperson for Katie told the Mirror: “Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn’t feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she’s dealing with this the right way and it’s now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslight [sic] and bullied as she once was…”

Hours before Peter’s statement Katie seemingly proposed a truce between the pair in the latest episode of The Katie Price Show podcast. The duo, who share kids Junior and Princess, haven’t communicated since their divorce, after their marriage collapsed in 2009.

Last week, Katie said she was “very very upset” as she claimed she had been left out of her daughter’s latest career milestones and claimed she had pleaded to take part in the TV series but was told no. Following the backlash from her comments, in which she faced accusations of jealousy and attention seeking, the former Page 3 star has spoken out once again and insisted she only wants to be there to support her teenage daughter.

Katie has now suggested a sit down talk with Peter and her former management The CAN Group in which she said: “I feel like I’ve missed out on so much and it’s so not fair to bring Princess as piggy in the middle so I think it’s about time all of us adults just sit down and talk about what their beef is with me and just get over it. Life would be such more at peace.”
