Jane Etta Pitt dead: Brad Pitt’s mum dies as heartbroken family issue statement

Jane Etta Pitt, the mother of Brad Pitt, passed away at the age of 84. Sydney, her granddaughter, shared a collection of vintage photos of Jane before reminiscing about her time as a “grammy” before making the announcement about the former school counsellor.

She remarked, “We were not yet ready for you to go, but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint makes things a little easier.” You already knew that Grammy had the biggest heart if you knew her. No questions were asked, she was deeply concerned for everyone and everything.

She taught me how to paint, how to lead with kindness, how to love Jesus in all circumstances, and how to find joy in the smallest things. She believed in fairness, putting others first, and doing good simply because it was the right thing to do, and she created the silliest games just to make us laugh.

The distraught granddaughter continued, “Every year before school, she gave each of us grandkids a “special day,” which was a day for us to do anything we wanted (and Papa had to accompany us, though I know he secretly loved it too).”

“Mine typically started with banana splits for breakfast, hours of playing Trouble, a craft project, going all-out with Papa, mini golf where she’d make a V with her feet to help me aim… (and somehow still beat me) and spending the night watching Paulie until we are asleep.

Her devastated granddaughter made the announcement.

Sydney claimed there wasn’t a “limit” to the love she gave, adding that Jane had no trouble keeping up with all of her 14 grandchildren without skipping a beat.

Without her, I’m not sure how we can continue. But in every hummingbird, kind gesture, and brushstroke, I am certain that she is still present. She continued, “She was love in its purest form.” We were incredibly lucky to have her in our lives as we went through our teenage years, and I can tell you, “she lives on through each of us.”

In Sydney, Jane was photographed relaxing on a private jet, drinking a beverage, posing with her family for her 80th birthday, and embracing her husband William. Additionally, photos of Jane’s charitable work and favorite holidays were added by Sydney.

Jane’s granddaughter added a white heart emoji and the lake snap as captions to her Instagram stories. The actor’s late mother, William, raised him with her husband in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Springfield, Missouri.

In a previous interview, Brad described growing up in Springfield as “surrounded by cornfields.”

He said, “Ten minutes outside of town, you start getting into forests, rivers, and the Ozark Mountains,” in a 2017 interview with GQ.

In 2012, Jane and Will joined Brad at the Oscars after making several red carpet appearances with her famous son.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks star quits after four years as replacement confirmed

After four years, Daisy May Cooper has announced her replacement and she will step down from her starring role in a popular TV show.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks

It’s been almost a decade since Daisy May Cooper found fame alongside her brother Charlie Cooper when they created the hit sitcom This Country. And since then, Daisy has gone on to even further success with Am I Being Unreasonable? whilst also making appearances on shows such as The Masked Singer and Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

Since 2021, she has acted as Team Captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and featured alongside the likes of host Greg Davies, and Noel Fielding has appeared as a fellow team captain. But whilst her co-stars have all been confirmed to have signed on for the next series of Sky’s music-themed comedy panel game show, Daisy has quit and will be replaced by Sophie Wilan for series five, who previously stepped in when the comedienne was on maternity leave.

When its most recent batch of episodes airs this autumn, Jamali Maddix will make her return as a regular panellist. The series, which was revived by Sky in 2021 following a nearly 20-year run on BBC Two, will feature themes spanning the nineties, noughties, as well as girl bands, boy bands, and rock groups.

Viewers can also expect to see a host of celebrity guests taking part when the cult classic returns to screens for its latest outing. It comes after Gary Lineker ‘signs a huge deal with ITV to host new show’ after BBC exit.

Phil Edgar-Jones, director of Sky Arts and Entertainment, stated: “It’s the starriest line-up you could hope for this year on Buzzcocks with something to satisfy every musical taste from the nineties through the noughties through boy and girl bands right to the present day.” The perfect fourth album would be a healthy dose of unpredictability and mad comedy.

Daisy’s Buzzcocks axing comes after she reportedly stepped down from Celebrity Traitors, which is also set to air in the autumn. A source said at the time: “It’s caused producers a real headache as it’s so close to filming.

“They’d banked on Daisy and Charlie being TV gold so it’s disappointing they won’t be a part of the first Celebrity Traitors. They’re hilarious and brilliant on telly together – plus being brother and sister would have brought a really interesting element to the series.” Away from the world of showbiz, the BAFTA-winning actress welcomed baby Benji with partner Anthony Huggins, 45, in June. She also has Pip, six, and Jack, three, from a previous relationship. Charlie, 35, has two children with his wife Leighanne.

Daisy and Will Weston tied the knot in The Cotswolds in September 2019, and they are “both devoted parents” to their second child. After the Covid-19 lockdown, they both decided to end their marriages in 2021. Benji’s father, Anthony Huggins, is now dating her new partner, who is also known as Daisy. The couple had a baby a year ago when they met on the dating app Hinge in December 2021.

Daisy shared the news via Instagram with the caption “You came a little earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post-op constipation that I nearly had to call the Samaritans, but my god you are perfect” when her youngest son was born.

“I can’t thank @deliverysuitegrh enough. You did a wonderful service to us in such a difficult situation. When Daisy and Anthony packed on a PDA while going to a store in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, to buy baby clothes, Daisy announced her pregnancy in March of last year.

The actress’s bump was clearly visible in a figure-hugging all-black appearance as the couple held hands as they left for a shopping trip. Daisy was seen heartily laughing as the pair went about their day while making the most of the sunny weather and were able to keep their hands off one another.

A source at the time stated that Daisy is expecting and is looking forward to having her third child with her new partner. The addition of a baby will only help the two get closer to one another because they have been fighting well together. The couple then sparked engagement rumors when Daisy was spotted ring fingered in a diamond rock.

When Daisy was promoting her BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable, rumors about Anthony having popped the question started in February. Anthony was first referred to as her “fiancé” on her Instagram Stories. She made fun of the fact that her “fit fiancé and baby daddy” would appear on screen in a clip.

Waterloo Road star Hattie Dynevor, daughter of Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor, wrote: “Congratulations!!! He’s so beautiful.” Another of Jade’s followers added: “Bless him. He’s so lovely. I love his blanket.” A third wrote: “He’s so cute. Welcome to motherhood. Also well done @devon_booth23.”

In another video, Jade shared footage on Devon in labour and the first time they met their new bundle of joy. The adorable montage also included the moment the new parents left the hospital with baby Kobie.

Jade, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2020 alongside her Sign Along With Us group, had previously opened up about their struggle to conceive.

“A year ago was our lowest point going through our IVF struggles in private and thinking it was never going to work,” Jade shared in a recent TikTok. “But now we couldn’t be happier. Devon is pregnant and our little boy will be born soon.”

Jade shot to internet fame in 2020 after posting videos of herself and her brother, Christian, who has cerebral palsy, singing along to pop tunes on her ‘Sign Along With Us’ YouTube channel. This led to their appearance on the ITV talent show.

The siblings formed a choir consisting of 37 children and 28 adults, and their performance on Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) was so impressive that David Walliams hit his golden buzzer for them, making it the first act of that series to receive such an honour.

During Jade and Christian’s BGT performance in 2020, a poignant moment at the beginning showed how Jade taught her brother sign language after doctors warned he might not be able to communicate.

Following their televised performance, Jade appeared on Good Morning Britain where she revealed that doctors initially believed Christian was stillborn.

She explained at the time: “Christian came to us as my foster brother because my parents were foster carers. He was actually stillborn and he didn’t take his first breath for 24 minutes, which led to him having a brain injury. He’s got cerebral palsy, he’s registered blind he has a big long list of medical conditions. But we just saw the potential this amazing little boy had.”

She added: “We were told he would never be able to talk and would be in a wheelchair for life. We didn’t want to accept this and I started doing sign language with him – it literally unlocked his life and now he’s the amazing little boy he is today.”

Wildfires and heatwaves grip southern Europe as evacuations ordered

This week, record temperatures and dry conditions have caused evacuations across France, Spain, and Portugal, causing deadly wildfires and extreme heat in southern Europe.

One person was killed and nine others were hurt in a massive wildfire in southern France’s Aude region, making it the biggest wildfire this year.

In less than 24 hours, the fire, which started on Tuesday, has already scorched at least 15, 000 hectares (37, 000 acres), or more than the city of Paris. Forest fires have ravaged villages, damaged or destroyed at least 25 homes, and the fire is still ignoble, according to emergency officials.

In a post on X, President Emmanuel Macron urged people to use “the utmost caution” and stated that “all of the nation’s resources are being mobilized.

In addition to 600 vehicles and water-dropping aircraft, over 1,800 firefighters have been dispatched to battle the blaze.

Remi Recio, deputy prefect of Narbonne, stated that the Aude department has the most personnel and resources that can be had in the entire south of France.

Another person is missing, while an elderly woman who refused to leave was killed. Seven firefighters were inflicted with smoke inhalation, including one who was in critical condition with burns and two civilians were hurt.

Roads were blocked, and camping areas and at least one village had to be partially evacuated. David Cerdan, a 51-year-old man who eluded the French village of Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse, said, “I left everything behind me.” I’m putting that perspective into perspective. There is no harm to me whatsoever.

According to officials, the fire has already squandered more than double the amount of land burned by all French wildfires combined in 2024. According to fire official Roesch, “The fire is advancing in an area where all the conditions are favorable for it to continue.” This fire will keep us busy for a while. It’s a long-term operation.

The cause investigation is currently being conducted. According to France’s environment ministry, dry vegetation and drought conditions are to blame for the spread, with water restrictions already in place in the Aude region.

According to climate and agriculture expert Serge Zaka, “the Mediterranean has the highest fire risk.” It is the hottest and dryest region of France. These fire risks are anticipated to increase even more in the summer due to climate change.

About 300 people were injured in a fire that occurred last month near Marseille. According to scientists, Europe, the continent with the fastest-warming climate, is experiencing more intense heat and dryness as a result of climate change.

Spain and Portugal are inundated with blazes caused by heat.

A severe heat wave that started on Sunday, which reached 43C (109F) in Spain, has caused numerous wildfires to spread throughout the country.

More than 1,500 people and 5, 000 vehicles were evacuated from the Andalusian resort town Tarifa after a fire broke out near La Pena, a wooded area close to the beach. Strong winds were responsible for the rapid spread of the fire, which is thought to have started in a camper van.

The wind, or whether it shifts between the west and the east, is what worries us most at this time, according to Andalusia’s interior minister Antonio Sanz.

Despite nighttime efforts, residents were unable to leave the blaze, which remained active and stayed in hotels and tourist destinations.

Additionally, Corme Aldea village had to be evacuated because of a fire in the Galician region close to Ponteceso. According to state broadcaster RTVE, a blaze that erupted on Tuesday in Cadiz caused a large evacuation of the area.

Through Friday, the Spanish meteorological agency AEMET has issued orange alerts for various regions. Authorities for civil protection issue “high” or “extreme” fire risk warnings for a large portion of the nation.

According to data from the country’s national mortality monitoring system, the Ministry of Health reported 1, 060 extra deaths linked to extreme heat in July, a 57 percent increase over the same month last year. Although the data does not directly identify causes, it is frequently used to estimate heat-related deaths.

More than 42, 000 hectares (104, 000 acres) of wildfires have already been burned in Portugal, the largest area since 2022 and eight times as much as it was at this time last year. In the last two weeks, more than half of that land has been scorched.

On Wednesday, firefighters managed to control a large fire close to Vila Real in the north, but others are still active. Due to the city’s close proximity to densely populated areas, one fire in Amarante persisted, while another in A Coruna reached an emergency level 2.

More than 100 municipalities are in the highest risk of ignominating fire in soaring temperatures in Lisbon until August 7.

Following allegations of involvement in abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing that rocked the Umumba Ndiagu community in May of this year, the police, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and other sister security agencies worked together to flee Nigeria.

The governor’s administration’s zero tolerance for crime and promise to bring about justice for the matter are at the forefront of the arraignment.

In accordance with Enugu State’s current laws governing any property connected to kidnapping, his administration had earlier destroyed Levi Obieze’s country home in May.

Governor Mbah also handed an Executive Bill to the Enugu State House of Assembly in June to stop the state’s native doctors, herbalists, and related individuals from doing business there.

Ghana’s defence, environment ministers among 8 killed in helicopter crash

According to Ghana’s government, all eight of the eight people on board a helicopter crashed, including the country’s defense and environment ministers, were killed.

According to Julius Debrah, chief of staff to President John Mahama, the crash happened in the southern Ashanti region of the nation on Wednesday, which included Environment Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

The government and the president express their grief and condolences to the families of our fellow countrymen and soldiers who lost their lives in the service of the country, Debrah said.

Samuel Sarpong, vice chairman of Mahama’s National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Alhaji Mohammad Muniru Limuna, deputy national security coordinator and former minister of agriculture, were also among the victims.

At the same time as armed groups in Burkinabe’s northern border were becoming more restive, Boamah was in charge of Ghana’s defense ministry.

Unlike neighboring Togo and Benin, where the Sahel has historically been a rebel spillover, observers have been concerned about increased arms trafficking and the use of Burkinabe fighters as a backbone by Burkinabe residents.

Boamah’s career in government included stints as communications minister during Mahama’s previous 2012-2017 tenure, which was a medical doctor by training. He served as the environment’s deputy minister before that.

Boamah led a delegation to Ouagadougou in May as Ghana pursued more diplomatic relations with Burkinabe, Mali, and Niger, all of whom are ruled by military-backed regional blocs that have sided with the ECOWAS West African region.

A Peaceful Man in an African Democracy, a book about former president John Atta Mills, who passed away in 2012, was set to be published by him.

An air force helicopter went off radar shortly after 9:00 am (09:00 GMT), according to a report released by the Ghanaian Armed Forces on Wednesday. It was heading northwest of the capital’s town of Obuasi.

Without specifying at the time that the ministers were on board, the statement stated that three crew members and five passengers were aboard.
