Inmates, pregnant woman among 22 killed in Russia’s attacks on Ukraine

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and regional officials, at least 22 people have died as a result of Russian airstrikes, including 16 inmates and a pregnant woman.

The attacks occurred on Tuesday night, one day after Donald Trump gave Russia a new “10 or 12 day” deadline to reach a peace agreement in its conflict with Ukraine or face harsh new sanctions, shortening his earlier this month’s 50-day deadline.

Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhia’s military administration, claimed on Tuesday that Russia had launched eight overnight airstrikes against his region, including one at a prison close to Zaporizhia.

“Overnight, Russia bombed a penal colony close to Zaporizhzhia, killing 16 people and injuring 35. The suffering of Christians continues. Another flagrant war crime, Fedorov declared on X in English.

Zelenskyy listed a pregnant woman as one of three victims killed in a Russian missile attack on the city of Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk that targeted a hospital, putting the death toll on Tuesday at 22.

According to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk military administration, a person was killed and several others were hurt in the Synelnykove district as well.

A “75-year-old woman was killed” in a separate attack on the Odesa-area village of Velyka Mykhailivka on Monday night. A 68-year-old man was hurt. On Telegram, Lysak claimed that a private home had been damaged.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime, which also makes threats against the United States through some of its mouthpieces, must be hit by economic and military blows that strip it of the ability to go to war, wrote Andriy Yermak, a senior aide to the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on social media.

Russia’s air defense systems reported that 32 of the drones had been downed overnight, according to Ukraine’s Air Force, adding that its air defense systems had also detonated two missiles.

One person was killed in a number of Ukrainian drone attacks in the southern Rostov region of Russia, according to Russian authorities.

The Ministry of Defense in Russia reported that its defense units defused 74 drones overnight, including 22 over the Rostov region, despite only reporting how many of them were destroyed and not how many were launched.

On Ostrovsky Street, a car was damaged. Unfortunately, the driver who was driving it passed away,” Rostov region acting governor Yury Slyusar wrote in a post on Telegram.

He claimed that Salsk, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Volgodonsk, Bokovsky, Tarasovsky, and Slyusar were all targeted in the attack.

A freight train and passenger train were also damaged when drone debris fell on Salsk train station, according to Slyusar, and passengers had to be evacuated.

Russia’s Railways reported on Telegram that the power at the station was halted, causing the suspension of train traffic. There were no reported injuries.

Ukraine, which has frequently claimed that its attacks inside Russia are a response to Russian airstrikes, did not respond right away.

Both sides claim that their attacks were intended to kill civilians, but thousands of Ukrainians have died as a result of the conflict.

Since the start of the 2022 offensive, Kyiv has been attempting to stop Russia’s summer offensive, which has made new advances in regions on the eastern front line that have been largely spared.

Fresh from their iconic Euros win, the Lionesses continued their celebrations at a Downing Street reception hosted by Angela Rayner, with the whole team sporting tailored looks from their Marks & Spencer collection.

M&S has a long-standing tailoring partnership with the English FA. In 2007, they became the official suit supplier for the England senior men’s football team, and just this year, the high street retailer launched a 13-piece collection designed for the women’s football team.

The collection aims to “bridge the gap between the players’ off-field style and our customers’ love for the sport” with chic waistcoats, tailored matching sets, and crisp shirts.

The team made a serious turn at No. 1 after serving some serious looks off the pitch. 10 of the collection’s standout pieces are wearing.

With her pre-game beauty ritual, Chloe Kelly sent a subtly personal but powerful message to fans.

Chloe Kelly chose the Tailored Pleat Front Wide Leg Trousers, which are currently out of stock online, along with the matching Tailored Asymmetric Waistcoat, which is also available online. The trend for waistcoat co-ords has been growing, and Chloe’s M&amp, S set, which is sleek, well-made, and surprisingly versatile, gives off that effortlessly cool vibe that the Lionesses do so well.

The waistcoat was a popular pick among the team with Michelle Agyemang, Alessia Russo and Alex Greenwood rocking it as well.

Captain Leah Williamson went for a more summery take on classic suiting with the Straight Short Sleeve Single Breasted Blazer, priced at £59, paired with the High Waisted Pleat Front Bermuda Shorts, priced at £29.50. Unfortunately, the shorts are currently out of stock, along with the waistcoat, but some are still available to shop in store.

With the price of the Tailored Pleat Front Barrel Leg Trousers in soft green, player Lucy Bronze chose to use a lighter color scheme. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that M&amp, S has incorporated the barrel leg silhouette into the collection because it is one of the biggest trends in 2025.

Speaking of the collection, Maddy Evans, director of M&amp, S Woman, states, “We’re proud to have delivered this latest collection ahead of the Lionesses next tournament. We’re thrilled to have collaborated with the English FA over the last 18 years. For spring/summer 2025, it includes an easy, modern tailoring edit that the players will wear proudly. World Rugby boss rejects Schmidt’s clearout claim

Joe Schmidt, the head of World Rugby, refuted claims that the decision at the end of the second Test against the British and Irish Lions constituted a breach of the sport’s player welfare drive.

After reviewing a clearout from flanker Jac Morgan during the Lions’ spirited contest at the MCG, the officials decided not to overturn Hugo Keenan’s match-winning try.

Morgan collided with Australia’s Carlo Tizzano, who claimed he had been struck on the back of the neck as he attempted to lift the ball, near the 5m line, in a ruck.

The television match official (TMO) reviewed the clearance and agreed with referee Andrea Piardi’s initial decision to award the try after the ball was worked out to the left for Keenan to score.

After the Lions’ game, which ended in a 2-0 series lead, Wallabies coach Schmidt claimed the call “didn’t live up to” World Rugby’s emphasis on player welfare.

World Rugby’s executive, Alan Gilpin, stated on the podcast hosted by the Rugby Union Weekly in Sydney, “I don’t agree with that.”

“I am aware that Joe is playing a particular law into the officiating and welfare debate because I am aware that my emotions are high and that Joe is understanding that.”

However, Joe and all the other international coaches are well aware of our significant investment in player welfare, whether it is through the use of instrumented mouthguards throughout the professional game or through all of our investments in science and research.

We’re trying to strike a delicate but crucial balance between a fantastic physical contest and a safe environment for the players. It’s a very difficult balance to strike.

Gilpin said the referees’ body had been going through their customary review of the game over the past few days and that the officials “stand by their decision” and that no one at Rugby Australia would be drawn out of this discussion regarding whether any figures had filed a formal complaint.

We must support our match officials and referees. We do, too. In a single game, he continued, “They’re making 800-plus decisions under incredible pressure in front of a global audience.”

And they don’t make the right choice. But we’ll back them if they’ve made the right choice and have a decision they can support.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Tom Lynagh has questioned whether any findings from the decision-making process should be made public.

On Tuesday, Lynagh said, “I think it’s a grey area.” I believe the public should be informed of the final outcome.

The decision is final, but regrettably, it doesn’t change the fixture’s outcome.

Michael Hooper, the ex-Wallabies captain, has been vocal in the Australian media criticizing Morgan and the Lions for a risky ruck entry.

He continues, saying now is the right time for the hosts to move on and concentrate on their third and final Test this weekend in Sydney.

He claimed in Rugby Union Weekly, “It’s the game, right?” However, these events occur, and if you can learn anything from playing, you must move on.

Inside Sarina Wiegman’s quiet life with husband and two daughters away from cameras

Marten Glotzbach, a former coach and professor of economics, and Sarina Wiegman, a wife of the couple, co-parent to their two daughters. They have a private, understated family life.

Head coach of the England women’s national football team Sarina Wiegman is widely recognised for her success on the field, but her private life remains notably low-key, especially when it comes to her husband and her family life.

The celebrated Dutch football coach, 55, who is celebrating a third European Championships win and a second with England, has transformed England’s fortunes since taking over four years ago.

The Lionesses won the Euros in 2022 under the guidance of Sarina, and then advanced to the World Cup final, where they were sadly defeated by Spain in the final in 2023.

Marten Glotzbach, who has supported Sarina throughout her incredible football career, gave her a cheer in Sunday’s Switzerland showdown.

Former football coach Marten, 55, is currently employed as an economics professor in the Netherlands. The couple, who met in 1994, have two daughters who both enjoy football and football.

Marten began his career in sports broadcasting as a youth trainer and coordinator before becoming a professional football coach. During her coaching stints with the Dutch and English women’s teams, he and Sarina have shared a common goal.

Sarina and Marten rarely share any information about their home life on social media despite playing public positions.

They prefer to prevent their daughters’ privacy and restrict public appearances by preventing family life from being in the media spotlight. Sarina has emphasized the importance of maintaining a private family life, and she credits Marten with helping her manage her busy professional life while maintaining a steady hand at home.

After realizing she would need to relocate for her position as Lionesses coach, Sarina reportedly made the decision to relocate to the UK with her husband and her children.

Following on from England’s Euro success in 2022, Sarina took her husband on a trip to the beach, where they rarely get to see her husband or personal life.

It’s “family time!” Different in mode than two weeks ago, but still enthralled by the incredible footage that is streaming right now.

Sacha and Lauren, the two daughters that Sarina and Marten have together, are devoted parents. Lauren, the 21-year-old daughter, briefly followed her parents’ footsteps and pursued a football career.

Before her contract with Dutch football team ADO Den Haag, which she played for two years, expired in May 2025.

Not much else is known about Sarina’s daughters as she tries to keep her family life out of the public eye as much as possible, and both Sacha and Lauren have set their Instagram accounts to private.

It comes after Sarina broke down in tears following England’s win at Euros. The legendary football manager has suffered some heartbreaking setbacks in her personal life, whilst going from strength to strength professionally.

Only a few years after Sarina’s time in Britain, a personal tragedy struck. Her sister, Diana, was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, and over the course of the following year, she became increasingly ill. She was heartbreakingly unable to travel to England to see Sarina in action.

In May 2022, the family was given the tragic news that Diana did not have much time left, and Sarina told the Guardian that despite the heartbreaking update, “We made that such a valuable month.”

Sarina revealed that she had support from throughout the Football Association to help her through such a difficult time after her death, explaining that she felt incredibly close to her late sister, who she knew would have wanted to give the Women’s Euros everything she could.

However, Sarina was suddenly devastated and broke down the night before the final match against Germany due to her severe loss.

When it suddenly dawned on me, “OK, this is not what I want,” we were preparing. Sarina said that’s completely normal because it has had such an emotional impact.

However, she relied on the support system to guide her through the harrowing experience.

“I was aware of my ability to communicate with anyone during that time, especially Kate Hays, our sports psychologist.” When you talk about it, it’s kind of a relief when you sit down with her and talk about it. So we did that the day before the final, and when we actually played the final, I was so relieved that it was over.

Sarina was photographed kissing the bracelet she wore after the Lionesses won the game and entering the field to celebrate with her teammates. The manager wore the bracelet in honor of Diana, keeping her close throughout.

Britiney 4m x 3m Aluminum Pergola
This Britiney 4m x 3m Aluminum Pergola was £539.70 but is now £279.99(Image: Wayfair)

This retractable metal pergola from Dakota Fields is currently priced significantly less than this Wayfair sale, which is incredible. As the weather continues to be sweltering in the UK through July and into August, the canopy makes it a valuable addition to any outdoor space. Sitting back and enjoying the sun or relaxing in the shade is also possible. Additionally, since this pergola will fend off the rain with the same amount of ease as it will prevent those annoying summer showers from ruining your next garden party, ensuring your outdoor seating area is always dry and useable.

Ground pegs are included to secure the pergola’s strong aluminum frame from the ground. Instead of flimsy or unreliable parasols that may blow away with a strong gust of wind, this is a more durable and sturdy option for providing cover outside.

The canopy top of this patio pergola can be moved to a different angle to provide your own personal personal level of protection from the sun while also providing a secure haven from the scorching sun. You don’t have to worry about water buildup or harm because the fabric cover has grommet holes for drainage.

This Dakota Fields Pergola is currently available for purchase for a significant sum of money at Wayfair for a sum of £259.71. One 5-star reviewer exclaims, “Absolutely love this pergola… it has completely transformed our garden space.” The modern, sleek design creates a premium-looking atmosphere that complements any outdoor setting. The installation process was surprisingly simple because the parts had been clearly marked and clearly defined. However, you’ll definitely need two people to raise and align the frame properly.

They then continue, “Everything worked out perfectly, but it took us a few hours.” Solid aluminum construction with a strong finish that appears to hold up really well to the elements is the materials’ feel top-notch. Even on windy days, it feels sturdy and stable. Overall, our garden will benefit greatly from it. (With a second pair of hands) high-quality, simple to put together! The final product appears fantastic in the end. I highly recommend it! Looking now to add some LED lights to it to improve it.

Another customer exclaims, “Easy to build, is a good size, and good value for the top cover, protection from rain and too much sun,” and it’s a good value.
