In response to the protests in Ghana, human rights activist and activist Malcolm Omirhobo has urged Nigerians living abroad to show humility, particularly in the host African nations.
Omirhobo made this claim on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, reacting to some Ghanaians’ ongoing protests, who claim that Nigerians are to blame for the rise in crime rates in their nation.
He characterized the situation as depressing, and he warned that it might spawn xenophobic hostility toward foreigners.

“This issue needs to be handled by the appropriate authorities to prevent it from getting out of hand.” It’s unfortunate that Africans behaved in this manner when we should be uniting, he said.
He urged both the governments of Nigeria and Ghana to resolve the dispute diplomatically and quickly.
He remarked that “both governments need to sit down with the necessary diplomats, and that action must be taken very urgently to safeguard lives and property before the situation escalates.”
Omirhobo also urged the Nigerians to join the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
The NIDCOM should go there and investigate the situation and make an effort to stop it before it escalates, he added.
Omirhobo cited some of the potential causes of the protests in his commentary on the attitudes of some foreign Nigerians.
He continued, “I believe that many Nigerians lack emotional intelligence.” For instance, I believe that the oppressive nature of Nigeria is one of the causes of Ghanaians’ protests. It might not be in a negative way.
“See, even in America, there are white men getting paid to clean Nigerian toilets. The best cars are driven by Nigerians. We put in a lot of effort. We are special. That is accurate. Even the white man is aware that Nigerians are perceived as fierce competitors everywhere. They are regarded as diligent. They are living there to their best, and they occasionally have their host’s prejudices dissipated.
Omirhobo argued that Nigerians should show more respect for their hosts.
Nigerians should try to be humble and respect our host community, I’m trying to say. They are unhappy because an Ibo traditional ruler has been installed in Ghana, which is said to be in charge of the market and a lot of other things.

The late rocker, who tragically died at the age of 76, is being laid to rest today in his beloved Birmingham. Ozzy’s private funeral is taking place just over a week after his sudden death.
His family, including wife Sharon Osbourne, have decided to give fans one last chance to pay their respects to the legendary rocker as a special procession will head down Broad Street in the city.
The procession will pass Black Sabbath bridge and bench, where floral tributes have been laid out in their hundreds for the music icon. Ozzy was followed by his family – including wife Sharon – in the special procession that will be accompanied by a live brass band, Bostin’ Brass.
The procession takes place from 1pm, with Broad Street closed to traffic from 7am. Ozzy’s family are covering the costs, with the council helping with the road closure.

Ozzy’s wife Sharon, 72, will follow the procession. Sharon had been married to Ozzy for 43 years before his death last week. However, before the rocker found love with the former X Factor judge, Ozzy was previously married to Thelma.
In the late 1960s, Ozzy was still trying to make his mark in the music industry, and he first met Thelma while she was employed as a teacher.
Prior to Ozzy falling madly in love with his second wife, Sharon, and the early success of Black Sabbath, they tied the knot in 1971.
Jessica and Louis, their two children, were adopted by Ozzy, who was also the parents of Elliot’s son, who was also in a previous relationship.

However, Ozzy freely admitted in interviews that during his marriage to Thelma, he was not a typical husband or father. A turbulent and unstable family life was the result of his skyrocketing fame, coupled with his extensive alcohol and drug use.
Ozzy admitted that he wasn’t present and was consumed by his addictions in his autobiography, labeling their union as a “mistake.”
After splitting with Thelma and his children in 1982, Ozzy later expressed regret for how he handled them, acknowledging that his previous lifestyle was destructive.
Although Thelma has largely avoided public eye contact, her relationship with Ozzy marked a turbulent but important turning point for him. Ozzy quickly turned his attention to Sharon after his marriage to Thelma ended.

When Sharon’s father managed Black Sabbath, Sharon and Ozzy first met. After Ozzy was fired from the rock band and Sharon took over as his manager, the pair began dating in 1979.
In 1982, the pair exchanged vows in Maui, Hawaii, but their marriage suffered a setback in 2016 as a result of reports of Ozzy having an affair for four years with a hair stylist. Ozzy checked into rehab for sex addiction after we had a brief separation.
By the summer of 2016, Sharon and Ozzy had reconciled, and they had renewed their vows in May 2017. Aimée and Kelly, their daughters, and Jack, their son, are their parents.
