Norrie out of Canadian Open as he loses to Vukic

After suffering a surprise second-round defeat by world no. 99 Aleksandar Vukic, British number two Cameron Norrie is withdrawn from the Canadian Open.

The 29-year-old suffered a 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 loss to the Australian.

Norrie last won a singles title in 2023, reaching the finals of the Wimbledon tournament in early July, ranking him 39th.

While he won some good matches on the grass court this year, he has yet to carry that momentum onto the hard courts, quickly falling to 3-0 in the first set against Vukic, 29.

Norrie battled it out for the match’s goal, despite having his blood pressure checked midway through the second set.

However, he ultimately lost against his unseeded opponent because he failed to make any of his three break points in the rain-interrupted deciding set.

Iga Swiatek, the world’s no. 3, defeated Chinese qualifier Guo Hanyu six times in her first match to claim a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the women’s event in Montreal.

Naomi Osaka, the four-time Grand Slam champion, defeated Liudmila Samsonova, 6-1, 6-6, 8-6, 6-3, to earn her first victory in a row.

The 27-year-old rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the tie-break after surviving break points in the tenth game of the second set.

Osaka, the world number 49, defeated Karolina Muchova for the first time at the Australian Open in January to win the title.

Osaka broke Samsonova twice in the decisive set to win the match, working with Tomasz Wiktorowski after revealing on Monday that she had split with coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

After defeating Mexico’s Renata Zarazua 6-2, 4-6, and 6-2, she will face Jelena Ostapenko in the third round.

Emma Raducanu, the reigning world no. 1, defeated Peyton Stearns in straight sets to advance to the third round of the women’s draw.

Belinda Bencic, a Swiss national, defeated former Wimbledon champion Eugenie Bouchard 6-2, 3 6-4 in their final competitive match before retiring.

The 31-year-old made the announcement in July that her final tournament would be the Montreal Open, held in her hometown.

When I was a young child, Bouchard said, “I remember sitting in these stands, hoping and dreaming that I would one day play on this court.”

It feels like a complete circle for me to end my career here because I grew up playing on these courts and courts all around Montreal and nearby.

More than 70 aid seekers killed as starvation worsens in Gaza

At least 71 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli-caused attacks in Gaza as a result of a worsening humanitarian crisis, according to medical sources in the area. Additionally, seven more people have died from malnutrition and famine in the besieged area.

Israeli forces were heading toward the Zikim crossing point for aid trucks entering northern Gaza on Wednesday, killing at least 51 people and injuring more than 648 others, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

The Nasser Medical Complex reported that another 20 people who were attempting to get aid were killed close to Khan Younis in southern Gaza’s “Morag Corridor.”

Israeli forces killed more than 1, 000 Palestinians who were requesting aid near US- and Israeli-backed GHF’s aid distribution centers, which started operations in late May.

The UN and other humanitarian organizations have harshly criticized the GHF for not providing enough aid and for the dire security conditions at and nearby its aid distribution sites.

Aid organizations and health officials are putting forth new threats of starvation, particularly among children and the elderly, as a result of the attacks.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 89 children have died from malnutrition, the most recently reported death toll. A famine scenario is unfolding, according to a global hunger monitor’s report on Tuesday.

Jihan al-Quraan, a mother who spoke to Al Jazeera while holding her young daughter, is one of the people who are struggling to survive. Look at her stomach, she says! An entire month without bread means no flesh, just bones, she said, citing the lack of food.

Al-Quraan claimed she tried to leave empty-handed but instead tried to get some food in a crowded soup kitchen. She continued, “I only discovered a few dry pasta shells on the floor.”

Aid entering Gaza is still far below the required levels despite growing needs. The majority of the population is not reached by the aid flow into Gaza, according to Adnan Abu Hasna, a spokesman for UNRWA, the organization that provides refuge for Palestinian refugees.

To meet basic humanitarian needs, Gaza needs at least 500 to 600 aid trucks each day, according to the UN. Over the past four days, only 269 trucks have gotten into the area.

According to Tareq Abu Azzoum of Al Jazeera, the majority of them were looted by “hungry crowds.” “Now, it’s not very shocking to loot.” A starving population that has been denied access to food, water, and medical supplies has had a predictable outcome for a long time.

He continued, “People have gone days without getting any kind of food.” “The Gaza Strip’s trucks are not able to meet the population’s needs,” the statement says.

According to the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, dozens of elderly people have died in displacement camps as a result of starvation, malnähriation, or a lack of care, according to a report released by the organization.

Due to the ministry’s lack of a transparent reporting system and the tendency of families to immediatelybury their loved ones, many of these deaths were identified as natural causes, according to the group’s statement on X.

In addition, it stated that over the past two weeks, there have been “unprecedented surges” in daily deaths in hospitals and primary care settings, with hundreds of elderly patients visiting “states of extreme exhaustion, seeking nutritional fluids.”

Israeli bombardment continues.

According to medical sources, at least 15 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Wednesday in Gaza.

That includes the three people who, at the very least, were killed in two separate Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City, including Palestinian photojournalist Ibrahim Mahmoud Hajjaj, 35. Two people were killed and others were hurt in a strike that occurred close to the Az-Zahra School in the central Daraj neighborhood. Hajjaj was killed in a second strike in Gaza City’s eastern region.

Since October 7, 178 journalists have been killed in Israel’s occupation of Gaza, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 60 Palestinians have been killed and more than 146, 000 others have been injured in Israeli attacks since the start of the conflict, according to the country’s health ministry. During the Hamas-led attack on October 7, an estimated 1, 139 people were killed in Israel, and more than 200 others were taken prisoner.

threat of annexation in Gaza

A Palestinian minister made the suggestion of annexing parts of Gaza, which would undermine any hope for a two-state solution and further cement Israel’s occupation in violation of international law.

Security cabinet member Zeev Elkin claimed that Israel may give Hamas the ultimatum to reach a deal before extending its military operations, accusing the organization of trying to drag out ceasefire negotiations to snag Israeli concessions.

Losing lands is his contention, saying that it is the enemy’s most agonizing experience. A significant pressure tool would be to say to Hamas that they will lose land that they will never recover from playing games with them.

The remarks were made shortly after Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu claimed the Israeli government was “advancing the destruction of Gaza.”

Eliyahu stated on Haredi radio station Kol Barama, “The government is racing ahead for Gaza to be completely eradicated.” We are eliminating this evil, God bless. We are promoting “My Mein Kampf” among the population that has been educated, he said, referring to Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany’s Nazi Party,’s autobiography and political work from 1925.

Eliyahu’s remarks sparked widespread outcry, including from the coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, Israeli media reports suggest that the government is putting together a formal ceasefire ultimatum against Hamas: accept them or be subject to territory annexation.

According to Channel 13 in Israel, Israel may attempt to annex land close to the Gaza perimeter fence by pushing up to a kilometer inside the Strip.

As Hamas and Israel continue to negotiate in mediation with American, Qatari, and Egyptian mediators, these threats come as negotiations continue. According to Channel 12, Israel has proposed a 60-day ceasefire that would call for the withdrawal of allies from Gaza but not the end of the conflict.

Special envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Israel on Thursday to discuss “next steps” to take to resolve the situation, according to a US official. Donald Trump, the president of the United States, stated earlier this week that he anticipated more centers to be constructed in Gaza.

Why Hulk Hogan’s estranged daughter Brooke Hogan wrote herself out of wrestler’s will

Brooke Hogan, Hulk Hogan’s estranged daughter, reportedly had compelling arguments for writing herself out of her late father’s will, according to her husband.

The daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan wrote herself out of her late dad’s will, according to her husband. The WWE star died last week aged 71.

And despite sharing a heartfelt tribute to her dad in the days that followed his death, Brooke Hogan had been estranged from her dad for a number of years. Her husband has now claimed she removed her name from the sports star’s will in 2023.

Steve Oleksy, a former NHL player, tied the knot with Brooke in 2022. They have since welcomed twins, Oliver and Molly. He claimed his wife had “upheld her Dad’s best interests even after his death”.

He added that she had been “mustering up all the courage and kindness she could despite still being very hurt” when she made the touching tribute.

Oleksy described Hulk’s estate in an interview with US Weekly: “The majority of it came at the expense of my wife’s dignity.”

It was based on hurtful remarks about her and her previous relationship, which caused pain for many other families as well.

Then he made a specific reference to Hulk’s remarks about Brooke’s ex-partner. Hulk allegedly used the N-word several times in an audio clip that was leaked from his sex tape in 2012 as he allegedly called himself “racist, to a point.”

The wrestling wrestler later sued Gawker for publishing excerpts from the sex tape in 2013. He received a $ 31 million (£23.4 million) settlement a few years later in 2016.

The true victims never received a direct apology, and they never received or requested a single dollar in compensation, according to Oleksy, who continued to say that while one life was positively changed forever from a financial standpoint.

Then, according to him, Brooke was forced to defend someone without knowing the full story, and that she had no idea the remarks were related to a sex tape. He added that she was “comfortably misinformed of the transcripts” and that she was unaware of the context and language being used in relation to her and her ex.

Oleksy continued, “These are the realities we experience every day. No amount of money can cover that suffering or restore what was lost.

Following Oleksy’s death, Brooke paid a special tribute to her father. She wrote, “My father’s blood runs through my veins,” and that “his eyes shine through my children.” And even in his final moments, our friendship endures forever. Our lives were connected through a deeper than words.

“I am so grateful that I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens. We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together. When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us.”

Brooke also remarked on how the two never engaged in a “big fight,” adding to clarifying their relationship. No one will ever hear, understand, or hear it, she wrote in her words. My father told me that his heart was weighing both on his personal and professional life.

I made an offer to serve as a life raft for him. I assured him that I was with him. I pleaded with him to rest and take good care of himself.

Canada will recognise Palestinian state at UN General Assembly: Carney

In light of the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza, Canada has joined several Western nations in declaring its intention to recognize a Palestinian state.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

He explained that Ottawa had hoped a negotiated peace process would lead to a two-state solution, but that strategy was “no longer tenable.”

At the 80th UN General Assembly session in September 2025, Carney told reporters that Canada plans to recognize the State of Palestine.

The United Kingdom and France made a similar announcement earlier this month with this move.

However, it is unclear how these recognitions will affect Israel’s ongoing conflict with Gaza and the expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank, the two Palestinian states that would be a part of a Palestinian state.

According to Carney, the recognition is based on Mahmoud Abbas’ and the Palestinian Authority’s commitment to reform and the holding of general elections in 2026.

He emphasized that Hamas cannot participate in upcoming elections and that it will not be permitted to participate, which some claim could tarnishe any democratic process.

“Stopping up a two-state solution means standing with all those who favor peace over terrorism or violence,” Carney said.

US rejects the recognition of Palestine

The top ally of Israel, the United States, has opposed attempts to recognize a Palestinian state, claiming that Hamas is rewarded by doing so.

Emmanuel Macron, the president of the United States, made a mockery of Emmanuel Macron earlier this month when he announced his plans to recognize Palestine.

Trump compared Macron to Macron, saying, “What he says doesn’t matter. Nothing will change it, according to the statement.

He also criticized the UK’s decision on Tuesday, claiming that it had not been discussed during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland.

“You could argue that you are rewarding Hamas and that you are rewarding people.” They shouldn’t be compensated, in my opinion. To be honest, I don’t belong in that camp, Trump said.

Despite accusations made by UN experts and human rights organizations that the US ally is committing a genocide against Palestinians, the Trump administration has continued to support Israel.

Since the start of the war in 2023, the Israeli military has killed more than 60, 000 Palestinians in Gaza.

calls for sanctions

In response to concerns about human rights violations, Canada announced last year that it would stop issuing new permits for weapons exports to Israel.

A coalition of advocacy groups released a report earlier this week that was based on Israeli tax records and revealed new details about how weapons have been continuing to be sent to Israel.

The organizations demanded Ottawa to revoke all existing arms export permits to Israel and accused the Canadian government of creating a “web of lies” to defend itself from criticism.

The National Council of Canadian Muslims applauded Carney’s announcement on Wednesday, but called on Canada to take additional action to stop Gaza’s assault.

It compared Trump’s own pressure to make Canada the 51st state in the US with Israel’s actions in Gaza.

The organization stated in a statement that “Canada must continue to stand by our values in order to lead an independent foreign policy, especially given that the Trump administration, which supports the annexation of Gaza, also has the potential to create a 51st state.

The Masked Singer’s Mo Gilligan’s slammed as ‘deadbeat dad’ by mother of secret baby

Mo Gilligan has reportedly secretly fathered a child – and currently has another kid on the way. The Masked Singer star is currently getting ready to welcome his first child with current partner Taia Tulher, 28.

The mother of his first child has called him a “deadbeat dad” and said he doesn’t see his first born, despite Mo, 37, being excited for his new arrival with his model partner.

Although comedian Mo never made the announcement that he would become a father, it’s believed that he met model Selina Christoforou, 35, online and had a child. She learned about her pregnancy in May of 2023, and the two women were shocked by how cautiously things turned out, according to a source.

Speaking to the Sun they added: “She found out she was pregnant in May 2023 and it was quite a shock for them both because they’d been fairly careful. But she wanted to have the baby, despite the fact they weren’t actually a couple.

She and Mo see their son semi-regularly, and she adores him. He is excited about becoming a father for the second time and is excited about it. He feels comfortable with Taia and has been with her for a while.

However, in a TikTok post that Selina shared on Instagram has added her take – and she is less than complimentary about the TV host’s involvement in their child’s life. Taking to social media, she fumed: “I just finally posted on Instagram about my son’s dad so for your information, if you don’t follow my Instagram I don’t blame you. Um, Mo Gilligan is his dad. Very much in quotation marks.

She continued, claiming that she has met the star’s son a “unbelievable” number of times and that things will improve. She claimed Mo had made it very clear he wasn’t interested in being a father and that she understood that you “can’t make someone be a father.”

Real life Emmerdale couple’s wedding date confirmed three years after engagement

Former Emmerdale star Max Parker has announced the date of his wedding to former co-star Kris Mochrie. Max, who began a romance with Kris after meeting on the set, has teased that their nuptials are now just days away.

Kris, 40, and Max, 33, who played brothers Lee Posner and Luke Posner respectively on the ITV soap opera, have been together since 2020 after meeting behind-the-scenes. Although on-screen siblings, the two actors, who have both since left Emmerdale, didn’t share any scenes together.

They got engaged just over three years ago, with Max having proposed to his partner Kris in January 2022. They are now preparing to get married next week. The news comes after Corrie star Jack P. Shepherd married his fiancée in a star-studded wedding in Manchester over the weekend.

Max announced yesterday that it’s just a week until he married Kris. The actor shared posts on Instagram that confirmed that they are just days away from exchanging vows, three years on from the couple’s engagement.

Max wrote, “7 days and we’re married,” along with a photo of them both donned in suits. In the post that his followers on the platform saw this week, he tagged his fiance Kris, whose tie he was changing.

In addition, Max and Max shared a photo of them toasting to one another in the lead-up to their upcoming wedding. A caption read, “One week til we get HITCHED,” was included in the background photo, which featured a fire.

It comes after Kris announced last year that the couple would be getting married in August this year. Alongside an engagement ring emoji, Kris wrote in a post on the platform almost a year ago: “365 days to go & 365 things to do.”

After Max, whom he described as his “best friend,” proposed on a beach in 2022, Kris shared the news with the couple. He claimed he was a “very lucky boy” and that the proposal had been “perfect.”

My best friend’s beautiful soul asked me to marry him yesterday, according to Kris. I can’t even begin to express my happiness. We laugh incessantly, and I’m so grateful that he entered my life because I love him beyond words.

He continued, “I had no idea at all!” But the movie really does speak for itself. My Gran’s mother had inquired about any jewelry that Max had. My grandmother’s locket was still present, and his inside engagement ring has been carved in the middle. What a unique thing.

Kris wrote, “Thank you for the work that brought us together, our incredible family and friends,” as he said at the time. And you all show such incredible love. I have a great chance. OUR MARRIED IS COMING SOON!!! “!
