As a result of fears that more people will die in South Korea as a result of heavy rains, with 12 more people missing since the disaster started, the death toll has increased to 14 nationwide, according to authorities.
According to government officials, a landslide that engulfed homes and caused flooding to wipe away vehicles left two people dead and four people missing in Gapyeong, the resort town, on Sunday.
According to South Korea’s official news agency Yonhap, a woman in her 70s died when her home slided, and a man in his 40s’ body was discovered close to a bridge after his drowning.
[Yonhap/AFP] Cars ruined by flooding are seen on a road in Gapyeong province, South Korea.
Early on Sunday, a region in Gyeonggi province, which is located about 70 kilometers (40 miles) east of Seoul, recorded rainfall of close to 170mm (6.7%).
Sancheong, a county in southern China, has seen nearly 800mm (31.5 inches) of rain since Wednesday, but the majority of the deaths occurred there.
In the rural county of 33, 000, there were two bodies discovered early on Sunday during search and rescue operations, bringing the total number of fatalities to eight, with six still missing.
The nearby county of Hadong received 645. 5 inches of rain, while the nearby county of Hapcheon received 699. 5 inches.
According to Yonhap, two of the 12 missing people were from Gwangju, in the city’s southwest.
According to Yonhap, authorities have also reported that they have identified 2, 234 other instances of private property damage, including buildings and farmland, as well as 1, 920 cases of flooded roads, soil loss, and public facilities.
According to Yonhap, 12 921 people have found shelter in 14 major cities and provinces overall.
South Korea is typically well-prepared for monsoon rains in July. Official weather data revealed that some of the heaviest hourly rainfall on record was caused by particularly heavy downpours in the country’s southern regions this week.
Mario Barrios defeated Manny Pacquiao to defeat him at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, which was a failure to make history’s oldest welterweight champion.
He also did not lose, either.
Instead, the 30-year-old Barrios and the 46-year-old Pacquiao fought to a majority draw on Saturday, with one judge awarding Barrios a 115-113 victory and the other two judges drawing a 114-114 draw.
Barrios (29-2-2, 18 knockouts) kept his WBC welterweight belt thanks to the outcome.
Pacquiao later said, “I thought I won the fight.
It was a close fight, to be sure. My adversary was very tough. A wonderful fight ensued. It turned out well.
The record for the oldest welterweight champion was won by split-decision over Keith Thurman in 2019. Pacquiao already holds the record for the record with 62-8-3, 39 KOs.
The Filipino legend was inducted last month into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Pacquiao showed vigor against his younger foe in the opening fight of Saturday.
In the end, Barrios received more punches (121) and jabs (152) than Pacquiao’s (75), but in the end, his stats from CompuBox came in at 81.
In the third round, Barrios, who is standing, directs Pacquiao.
After 10 rounds, Pacquiao held the lead on all three scorecards, but Barrios avoided the incident by avoiding the upset by going all three rounds. After the fight, Pacquiao was undoubtedly thinking about age and endurance.
Pacquiao, who lost his bid for the Philippines’ senatorial seat in May, said, “I need to keep training for longer before I fight for the title.” I started late because of the election, but that’s okay. Of course, I want a repeat. I want to inspire the Filipino people with a legacy.
Don’t let Barrios know that.
The champion called his stamina “wrong.” He still has good timing and is strong as hell. He continues to struggle with awkwardness.
Barrios is prepared for a rematch.
“I’ll do the rematch,” I promise. Absolutely not. For boxing, this was huge. I’d really like to do it again.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has issued a tsunami warning after three earthquakes, including the strongest of the magnitude 7.4, were recorded off Russia’s Pacific coast.
About 140 kilometers (87 miles) east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of Russia’s Kamchatka region, which has a population of more than 160, 000, were the epicenters of a string of earthquakes, the last of which measured 6.7% and 5.7%, on Sunday.
Within 32 minutes, the earthquakes hit the same area off Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the USGS.
At a depth of 20 kilometers (12 miles), the earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred. No casualties were immediately reported.
Parts of Russia are now in danger of falling into the US National Tsunami Warning Center. Hawaii’s state-wide tsunami watch was later lifted.
A 6. 8 magnitude earthquake was also reported off the east of Kamchatka region on Sunday, according to Germany’s GFZ monitor. Later, GFZ upgraded it to a new magnitude of 7.4.
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is a part of the Bering Sea, facing the Pacific, northeast of Japan, and west of Alaska, across the Bering Sea.
The Kamchatka Peninsula is a seismic hot zone because it connects the Pacific and North American tectonic plates. The area has experienced seven significant earthquakes of magnitude 8.3 or higher since 1900.
A magnitude 9 earthquake in Kamchatka on November 4, 1952, shattered Hawaii and caused no deaths despite causing 9.1-meter (30-foot) waves.

Wembley Stadium for BBC Sport
At Wembley on Saturday, Oleksandr Usyk introduced his friend Ivan to Daniel Dubois and the rest of the world.
The Ukrainian southpaw won the fifth-round knockout match and won the title of second-round unanimous heavyweight champion.
Usyk arrived for his post-fight press conference an hour after extending his unbeaten streak to 24 and was pleased to welcome the crowded audience after a quick night of work.
Ivan is my left hook, according to Usyk.
Ukrainian name Ivan. Ivan, a wealthy man who works for his family in a small town, is a big man. Ivan, it’s a strong punch.
The first time 2018 [I named it] was a cruiserweight in the United States.
Dubois had already climbed off the canvas shortly prior to the temple’s right hook, but Usyk’s favored left sequence came in handy.
A master of the craft gave yet another classic performance.
It was worth the effort to hold back the 90,000-person crowd as the event poured in from Wembley Stadium earlier in the evening.
Usyk was exceptional in every way, escaping Dubois’ attacks with slick footwork, returning with sharp shots on the counter, and displaying pure heavyweight power.
Usyk is a legend of his generation.

It is undoubtedly still there if it wasn’t already obvious. The dominant heavyweight of his generation is Usyk.
Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Dubois are his biggest rivals, but Usyk has also swept them all in and defeated them twice.
In his only third fight as a heavyweight, he defeated Joshua, leading the fight on an upward trajectory ever since.
Usyk doesn’t enjoy taking the easy path.
By defeating Fury in 2024, Usyk had the option of reversing that title by requiring a mandatory defense of his IBF strap against Dubois.
He resigned from Dubois at Wembley in order to pursue a rematch with Fury and win a second time in a row. He then circled back to reclaim the IBF title from Dubois.
What he accomplished today, according to Esyk’s manager, Essis Klimas, was designated by him a little bit more than a year ago.
His choice was to renounce the title, let Dubois defeat someone, and then engage in a third-party combat for undisputed. His plan was that one year ago. He excels mentally as well as boxing.
Many people who predicted a victory for Dubois on Saturday based their predictions on the assumption that Usyk, a Briton, must be ready to retire.
That is obviously not the case.
But where does he stand in the history of heavyweight wrestling with his 15th victory?
Usyk has won eight heavyweight titles, six of which have been won by him.
In contrast to the previous century, there is a strong argument that the heavyweight division’s current era lacks a great deal of depth.
The masses were captivated by the likes of Ali, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
Between 1937 and 1948, Joe Louis successfully defended his country in 25 different ways.
When Usyk, who may still have a few fights to go, finally decides to hang up the gloves, a place in the top three might be something to think about.
However, a top-five spot in all time feels appropriate as an Olympic gold medalist, undisputed cruiserweight champion, and two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.
Former world champion Carl Frampton remarked on Dazn, “I think he’s]Oleksandr Usyk] a legend.
Who has the power to stop Usyk?
There aren’t many serious contenders for Usyk right now.
Fury and Dubois are already facing Usyk, but Queensberry’s Frank Warren has a third candidate in the works.
Joseph Parker, the interim WBO champion, has followed Usyk throughout the entire fight week and on fight night.
The New Zealander has won six fights so far, and he’s also the owner of the world title.
Moses Itauma, a young, talented Briton, is at the other end of the scale.
The professional fighter, who is 20 years old, has won 12 fights and is regarded as the division’s future.
Itauma has won ten knockouts in his two fights and has been hailed as the division’s future. He has only gone beyond two rounds in two of his matches.
However, it seems premature to suggest that he is prepared for the era’s greatest.
No one has yet come up with a strategy to defeat Usyk even remotely.
Dustin Poirier’s distinguished career ended in defeat at UFC 318 in New Orleans, Louisiana, despite Max Holloway holding the symbolic BMF title.
Holloway became the first fighter to defend the belt that the UFC’s “baddest” fighters won by unanimous decision in a competitive match.
After paying homage to fellow American Poirier, Holloway called out lightweight champion Ilia Topuria.
“I have a connection to the champ,” I said. I’m done talking, said Holloway, but it’s your turn next, baby.
As one of the most renowned athletes to enter the octagon, former interim lightweight champion Poirier, 36, retires.
Poirier, who made his UFC debut in 2011, won 22 of his 32 fights and retired as arguably the best fighter to never win an undisputed title.
“I appreciate this journey and experience. An emotional Poirier thanked (UFC president) Dana White and the UFC for allowing a young person to make a decision in his life and keep their family safe.
Third attempt by Holloway overpowers Poirier
Following Poirier’s victories in 2012 and 2019, the pair’s epic rivalry is over at the end of the fight.
After losing to Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title in his most recent fight in 2024, Poirier declared that Holloway would be his final fight.
As Poirier made his way towards the octagon, Lil Wayne, along with rapper Lil Wayne, received a rousing reception in front of his home crowd.
As he requested before the fight out of respect for Poirier, Holloway yelled at him before the fight started, before getting booed out of his walkout.
In a confident first round, Holloway mixed up his leg strikes and effective punches, dropping Poirier with a straight right.
Before the momentum changed, Holloway held on to his position as the leader after knocking Poirier down once more in the second round.
Before the crowd rose to their feet in anticipation of the final round, Holloway and Poirier each made longer combinations but their strikes appeared to be more damaging.
With ten seconds left, Holloway made a trademark gesture and offered to stand and exchange.
Similar to last year’s knockout of Holloway, Poirier fought back in style with the final bell, but he got the better of the lively exchange.
After giving Poirier a few words, the pair exchanged a respectful kiss before moving on.
“Max is a difficult subject in this room. He is the champ because he is slick, crafty, quick, and fast. Max is one of the good guys, and I have nothing but respect for him,” Poirier said.
It’s been incredible as I’ve been pursuing my dreams. I’m a youngster who kicks and kicks in his dream while I’m out here. It is incredible.
The only UFC championship Poirier has ever won was against Holloway in the interim lightweight belt in 2019.
He suffered three unresolved title fights, including those of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Charles Oliveira, and Makhachev, but he came out in the end with a stellar resume.
What fighters said, “Truly one of the greatest”
Islam Makhachev’s message to Dustin on X: “Congratulations. One of the best people to enter a cage is undoubtedly you. Sharing it with you was a privilege and honor.
Jorge Masvidal on X: “Congrats on a fantastic career Dustin! It’s been a pleasure to share this journey with you. Thank you for all the positive aspects of your team. Enjoy your retirement, you have more than earned it.
“I thought Dustin’s performance was amazing,” Jon Jones on X said. He still has it without a doubt. However, it’s encouraging to see him leave merely because he wants to. In the future, that needs to become standard. Fighting fighters are getting old and making people mumble.

Victoria Beckham Beauty releases the new Colour Wash Blush Water Tint in three shades(Image: Victoria Beckham Beauty)
The long-lasting, water-inspired flush has a revitalizing formula and three energizing shades. A diffused bloom of color that appears to be rising from within the skin is caused by this waterlight tint.
These innovative new liquid blushes, which are marketed as slow-setting stain, promise to give you plenty of playtime. Before it sets for the day, dip your fingers or brush in the watery texture. With a covetable, long-wearing formula, the sheer tint results in an energized, soaked-in finish that lasts from dawn to dusk.
These unique blush tints are armed with activated water technology. They’re formulated with seawater sourced from the rocky cliffs of northern France, delivering mineral-rich hydration that your skin is set to love, while providing that natural and healthy flush.
The blushes feature a combination of coconut fruit water and terminalia ferdinandiana fruit extract, which have key skincare ingredients and are said to detoxify and energise the skin. They also have antioxidant properties that help promote a youthful, healthy complexion. Additionally, the combination of vitamin C and a potent antioxidant combination promises to improve skin texture, brightness, and overall skin tone.
These blushes come in three shades, Coral, Flushed, and Vintage Rose, Victoria’s preferred shade, for a price of £44. The new tints have already won numerous accolades from beauty enthusiasts, so it’s not just Victoria who is obsessed with them.
One 5-star reviewer exclaims, “I LOVE the new feature of selecting your complexion and being able to see the different shades clearly. I can see what it will look like in winter and tan. Brilliant, who came up with that idea?
This customer claims that the Color Wash Water Blush Tint is amazing, which is further love. It’s very simple to blend and apply. It stays colorfast throughout the day, from work to my workout. My skin feels and looks fantastic, too. Although I wasn’t sure if a color wash would work better than a traditional powder or cream blush, this is my new favorite product because of how wear and blend it is! “!
Another customer beams, “Not going to lie… Although the watery consistency initially irritated me, it worked so well and won me so many compliments. It appeared to be very natural.
This customer extends his praise by saying, “I am impressed with both the sheerness, which makes it ideal for warm weather, and the ability to add color intensity. This color has a sophisticated vibe that makes it plummy. It easily adds color to your check as it drops onto it. Love, love, love”!
A fifth chimes in, “I usually don’t wear face makeup because it can feel heavy, but I’m loving the color wash formula!” It’s more hydrating and weightless, more like cosmetics than skincare. A naturally controlled, overpowering flush is also provided by the buildable color.
