Radio DJ and Fun House host Pat Sharp was axed from his radio show after making a ‘humiliating’ joke that saw him lose his job. The TV legend, best known for being the face of the 90’s childrens show fun house, presented his segment on Greatest Hits Radio from 2019.
However the 63-year-old had made a joke to a woman live on stage at an awards show where he reportedly jibed about “getting on your t**ts” and handed her a T-shirt with his face on it, according to Daily Mail. The T-shirt had an old photo of Pat with his classic mullet hairdo and the caption: ‘Pat Sharp – AS SEEN ON FUN HOUSE – LOOKING SHARP SINCE 1982’.
However, she later claimed she was “violated” in front of around 400 coworkers and friends on social media in 2023 and that the joke backfired. She remarked, “I wasn’t really processing what happened, and I was in total shock.” I’m having trouble with it right now because I feel depressed, dirty, and, to be honest, violated.

The radio DJ was abruptly cut off from the air when Greatest Hits Radio announced that his contract was about to expire at the end of the month and that they had chosen not to renew. He was told to leave the show immediately, and they did so.
A decision was already made to not renew Pat’s contract, which expires later this month, according to a spokesperson for Bauer, the owner of Greatest Hits Radio. We have now come to our attention on this problem, but Pat and I have come to terms with it.
In a statement issued to The Sun, Pat said: “I made a joke on stage which was not well received. I upset one individual in particular and for that I am truly sorry. I apologised at the event to anyone who was offended and I have apologised to the individual personally too.”
Other than Greatest Hits, Pat has previously hosted programmes on Radio 1, Capital FM, Smooth Radio and Heart, as well as presented some episodes of music TV show Top Of The Pops in the 1980s. Since the incident, Pat has stayed under the radar but has been keeping fans updated with his life on Instagram. He posts snapshots of him with his grandchildren and some throwback pictures of him in his heyday.
In a post with the hashtag “Grandkids galore,” the grandad shared dozens of photos of his grandchildren enjoying themselves in the pool, playing games, and wandering the park. Pat appeared to be enjoying trips to the beach in Watergate Bay in Cornwall with his wife Monica when he wasn’t with his grandkids for a while in Windermere, in the Lake District, in July.
Earlier this month Pat was advertising an 80s tribute gig Ultimate 80’s Reloaded in Torquay with himself alongside another DJ Max Corderoy. Sharing tickets to book on his Facebook page, the event described itself as “non-stop nostalgia” with “a pulsating mix of 80’s hits”.
Pat participated in a number of other events earlier this year, including May’s Music in the Park in Leyland, Lancashire, and May’s Butlin’s Big Weekenders and Let’s Rock Leeds retro festival.
In September of this year, a previous version of this story was released.

More than 1,700 people fled their homes in Turkiye as a result of wildfires that have engulfed the nation’s fourth-largest city for weeks, killing one firefighter and causing one fatality in Turkiye.
Over the course of one day, a red glow appeared over Bursa in northwest Turkiye as a result of overnight fires in the forested mountains surrounding Bursa.
Since late June, the government has declared disaster areas for two western provinces, Izmir and Bilecik, on Friday after dozens of severe wildfires have already impacted the nation.
More than 1, 900 firefighters battled the flames, according to a statement released by the Bursa governor’s office on Sunday, and 1, 765 people were safely evacuated from northeastern villages. 500 rescuers were also on the ground, according to authorities.
As nearby forests burned, the highway that connects Bursa to Ankara, the capital, was shut.
According to Mustafa Bozbey, the city’s mayor, 3, 000 hectares (7, 413 acres) had been scorched by the flames that had been causing a heart attack on the job.
The scene was described as “an apocalypse,” according to provincial opposition parliamentarian Orhan Saribal.

Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli reported on Saturday that fire crews from different provinces battled 84 different fires. He claimed that Karabuk, where wildfires have burned since Tuesday, is in danger of the most harm to the northwest of the nation.
The wildfires are being fueled by unusually high temperatures, dry weather, and strong winds.
The southeast of Sirnak province, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology, on Friday, Turkiye recorded its highest ever temperature of 50.5% (122.9% Fahrenheit). According to the report, 132 other locations reported the summertime temperatures.
According to the Anadolu news agency, the previous national record was set on August 15, 2023 in Saricakaya, Eskisehir, at 49.5C (121.1F).
Ten rescue volunteers and forest workers were killed on Wednesday in a fire in Eskisehir, western Turkiye, in addition to the 14 people who have recently died.
In the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), an attack on a church claimed the lives of at least 38 people and injured 15 others.
The church in Komanda city, Ituri province, was the site of the attack early on Sunday, when members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) were allegedly armed with guns and knives.
The ADF has ties to ISIL (ISIS), a rebel group that runs operations on the border between Uganda and the DRC and regularly targets civilians.
Numerous people have been missing since the attack, which occurred while Catholic Christians were observing a prayer vigil at the church, which was being held by the Caritas charity.
According to Christophe Munyanderu, a human rights activist at the scene in Komanda, “the rebels primarily attacked Christians who were spending the night in the Catholic church.” These people were sadly killed using machetes or bullets, according to the report.
The death toll was 43, according to Radio Okapi in the DRC, blaming the ADF. More than 20 people were killed while attending a church’s prayer vigil, according to the radio. “Other bodies were discovered in nearby burned-out homes”
According to DRC army spokesman Jules Ngongo, “we know that there was an incursion by armed men with machetes into a church not far from Komanda.”
A leader of civil society told The Associated Press that at least three charred bodies were discovered inside and outside the church, according to a leader in the organization.
However, the search for bodies is continuing, Komanda’s civil society coordinator Dieudonne Duranthabo told AP.
According to Duranthabo, “We are truly disappointed because it is unbelievable that a situation could arise in a town where all security personnel are present,” adding that some people have since fled the area and relocated to Bunia town.
Since we are informed that the enemy is still close to our town, “we demand military intervention as soon as possible.”
The DRC’s UN Organization for Stabilization has condemned the recent resurgence of violence in Ituri. In a “bloodbath,” according to a UN spokesman, ADF killed dozens of people in the province earlier this month.
In Uganda, a series of disparate small groups formed the ADF in the late 1990s as a result of alleged unrest with President Yoweri Museveni.
The organization moved its activities to the DRC after Ugandan forces launched military assaults in 2002, and it has since been responsible for the killings of countless civilians. It swore allegiance to ISIL in 2019.
The ADF’s leadership claims that the East African nation is battling to establish a hardliner government.
