Rebecca Loos’ searingly honest justification for David Beckham ‘affair’

Rebecca Loos, David Beckham’s ex-personal assistant, is scheduled to appear on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins this week and is speaking out about her alleged affair with Beckham once more.

Rebecca Loos has once more revealed her alleged relationship with David Beckham.

More than two decades have passed since Rebecca Loos first claimed she had an affair with David Beckham, but it still remains one of the most explosive celebrity scandals of the early 2000s.

Rebecca, a former glamour model and Beckham’s personal assistant in 2003, is making a TV comeback on Channel 4 this week as she takes part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Like all the recruits, Rebecca faced a grilling in the show’s Mirror Room. Jason Fox and Chris Oliver questioned her motives for being on the show before asking how she felt about her affair with Beckham now she’s had the time to reflect on it.

“It felt unjust that my life was pretty hell and his (Beckham’s) life kept going and kept blossoming. I’ve been accused of being a liar. I’ve had a lifetime of opinions around me, I’ve definitely developed thick skin.

“I think the public opinion now has softened, at least from what I’m gathering since the documentary came out with the Beckhams a couple of years ago. I think it is now because thanks to social media, there is a whole different following out there, which it’s a double-edged sword.”

The drama began in 2003 after Beckham had just completed a high-profile move from Manchester United to Real Madrid, a career-defining transfer that promised fresh footballing glory in Spain.

Rebecca Loos, 26, who was hired as a personal assistant to help the Beckhams settle into Spanish life, joined the move.

Beckham and Loos were photographed leaving a Madrid nightclub together in September that year. Both parties remained silent as soon reports of an affair started to circulate.

However, when Loos sold her story in a exclusive interview with News of the World in April 2004, everything changed. She claimed that the couple had been romantically involved for four months. We just connected, she said, explaining why she made the alleged fling. It was noticed by others. She claimed that David told her, “Why don’t we just lose the rest and why don’t we just go back together,” after explaining that the idea of group drinks at the hotel was floated after a night out.

When I looked at him, I was shocked and taken aback. In a joke, I said, “**** off.” However, there was a look and I was standing before him. One of the women we were with apparently sat between us and me. I think David and I had a great time chemistry.

She explained why she agreed and that she was concerned about putting her job on hold because she knew he was a married man. “I believe David and I had a great relationship because we were acting so poorly and he is a married man,” he said. I then realized what he had asked of me, so I made the decision to ask him again. We exchanged a glance, paid the bill, and then left. He felt the same way about me and I could not wait to be by himself. After dropping the other two people off in the car, we returned to the hotel and began to kiss passionately… It was pretty amazing, like magnets.

Beckham reaffirmed his commitment to his wife Victoria and issued a strong denial of the allegations. In a statement made at the time, he said, “I am very happily married. My wife and my two children are wonderful.

However, harm had been caused. Victoria, who had stayed in England during Beckham’s first season at Madrid, was the subject of speculation as to their relationship. She later described that time as “the most unhappy time of my life.”

Loos reportedly received a sizable sum of money for her reporting, including a Sky One television special. Later, she claimed that because of “better it comes from me,” she went public.

The Beckhams never directly sued Loos, but in 2006, after filing defamation claims against News of the World, they settled in a confidential manner. Beckham has consistently refuted these claims.

In 2023, Netflix’s Beckham docuseries reignited interest in the alleged affair. Though Loos is never mentioned by name, the show offers emotional testimony from both David and Victoria about the strain the scandal caused.

David acknowledges that this was the most difficult time for him. That was incredibly challenging for us to go through.

In March 2025, Loos re-emerged on 60 Minutes Australia to reaffirm her version of events. “I’ve never lied about a single thing,” she insisted. Now living in Norway, Loos explained how the experience impacted her mental health and why she chose to speak out again: “I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media. All I had on my side was the truth.”

Admitting she knew he was a married man and that she was worried about jeopardising her job at the time, she shared her reason for agreeing. In an interview for Sky TV she said: When I looked at him, I was shocked and taken aback. In a joke, I said, “**** off.” However, there was a look and I was standing before him. One of the women we were with apparently sat between us and me. I think David and I had a great time chemistry.”

Starting on August 3rd, Channel 4 will start broadcasting or live streaming of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins every Sunday and Monday at 9pm.

Bob Dylan fans spot ‘rare’ moment during live show and ask ‘is this normal’

Bob Dylan gave a “rare” moment to the veteran performer during an otherwise ordinary performance that some audience members didn’t expect.

Fans of veteran performer Bob Dylan questioned whether a gesture made during a recent performance was “normal.” The Mr. Tambourine Man hitmaker was reportedly the subject of a “rare” moment from the songwriter, according to those who attended the show and those who had previously seen him. Fans have since shared a video of the incident on social media, which has since sparked discussion there.

Fans questioned whether it was typical for Dylan to be so accommodating to the crowd in a post to the r/BobDylan subreddit. The performer reportedly had a very special and uncommon sight to witness him engaging with the audience in the same way at a performance in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fans were left scratching their heads for all the right reasons at Dylan’s performance as part of Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival tour.

Is this typical, a user asked? He simply sung Under the Red Sky, and he actually thanked you in the microphone before laughing and saying, “It’s hot as summer out here.”

Fans have since confirmed that this isn’t typical for Dylan’s recent live performances. One user wrote, “Bob’s standing ability is hardly common these days and always a rarity.” This was unique, in my opinion.

Another performer had a similar experience at the same time in April. We spent the night with you there, they said. My kids’ first Dylan performance was on, and their birthday! Because it was unusual for him to express his gratitude, even kiddo noticed. It sounded special.

When I saw him in Pittsburg in April, he said, “This is definitely a lovely place to play,” it is indeed. I don’t know how old it is, but it’s older than me, and I feared falling.

We also received a thank-you for what he really seemed to be having a great time that night.

It contrasts a lot with Dylan’s UK tour. The 84-year-old’s return to British soil in November is likely to be a continuation of his quiet demeanor on stage.

Dylan’s setlist for the Rough and Rowdy Ways tour will likely change depending on where he performs at his Outlaw Music Festival shows, including Swansea, Glasgow, and Leeds.

Although he has been making more surprise commentaries, as he did when he mentioned Ernest Hemingway at a Liverpool gig, those shows hardly ever had him speak to the audience.

Reconsider Your Strike, Lagos Promises To Address Doctors’ Concerns

The Lagos State Government has made an appeal to the Medical Guild, which represents every medical and dental professional in its employ, to put an end to its warning strike over alleged unilateral salary reductions and other issues.

The leadership of the Medical Guild is currently being looked into, according to a statement from the state ministry of health.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, the Medical Guild had earlier announced the start of a three-day warning strike over salary reductions.

The doctors added that if their demands are not met, an indefinite strike would begin right away and that the Lagos State government would receive a 21-day ultimatum following the strike.

The Lagos State government responded, but the general public was assured that all complaints would be resolved because the medical guild’s meetings were ongoing.

“As a responsible government, we value the crucial role that our healthcare professionals play in providing the over 20 million Lagos State residents with high-quality, timely health care.

We urge the Medical Guild to maintain dialogue while working toward a just and peaceful resolution in the interests of all parties, particularly those who face potential service disruption.

The Medical Guild should reconsider its decision regarding the warning strike and allow the discussions to come to an end that is beneficial, the Lagos State Ministry of Health writes.

EU and US announce deal: A breakdown of the trade agreement

A month’s delay and the United States’ close to a comprehensive trade agreement have resulted in a full-fledged trade war, just days before President Donald Trump’s deadline to impose high tariffs.

Most goods, including cars, will be subject to 15% tariffs in the EU. Trump had threatened to implement the tariffs starting on Friday, but this one is only 30% higher. Additionally, Brussels and other nations agreed on Sunday to add hundreds of billions of dollars to already-depensed US weapons and energy products.

Trump praised the deal as the “biggest deal ever made” while speaking to reporters at his Scottish resort at Turnberry. “I believe it will be wonderful for both parties,” he said. It will bring us closer together, he continued.

Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, stated that the agreement would “bring stability” and “bring predictability that’s very important for our businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Von der Leyen defended the agreement, claiming that the goal was to restore a trade surplus between the US and China. Trump has never made it a secret to evade US trade restrictions by using tariffs.

Although neither side disclosed the full details of the pact or made any written announcements, Sunday’s agreement marked the end of months of frequently tense shuttle diplomacy between Brussels and Washington.

Following a 90-day trade pact with China and preliminary trade agreements with Japan, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, the US signed them.

How will the agreement affect the two parties, who control almost a third of global trade, and put an end to the threats of a tariff war?

What was agreed upon?

Von der Leyen stated at a news event that the country’s cars, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors, which are crucial components of the European economy, would be subject to a 15% tariff.

Trump, for his part, criticized industry in the bloc for rejecting US levies on steel and aluminum, which he has set at 50% on many nations. For the time being, aerospace tariffs will be at zero elsewhere.

Trump claimed that the bloc would “open up their countries at zero tariff” for American exports in exchange for the 15% tariff on EU goods.

He added that the EU would invest $600 billion in US energy products, spend an additional $750 billion on military equipment, and purchase “hundreds of billions of dollars” of military equipment.

Von der Leyen stated that starting in 2027, the EU would aim to purchase an additional $250 billion worth of US energy products annually.

She said, “We are securing access to our largest export market with this agreement.”

She also acknowledged that some of Europe’s industries would face challenges as a result of the 15% tariffs.

With nearly $ 2 trillion in two-way trade in goods and services in 2017, the EU is the largest trading partner of the US.

What has the leadership of Europe said?

Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, applauded the deal, citing its preventative effect on “transatlantic trade relations.”

He claimed that a trade war “would have severely affected Germany’s export-oriented economy,” noting that US tariffs would have been reduced from 27.5 percent to 15 percent for the German auto industry.

The bloc had caved in to the US president with an unbalanced deal that spared US imports from any immediate European retaliation, according to French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou, who described the deal as “dark day” for Europe.

An alliance of free peoples, organized to affirm their shared values and advance their shared interests, submits to the “von der Leyen-Trump deal” in his op-edition of X.

The deal with the EU was “accepting painful tariffs,” according to Wolfgang Niedermark, a trade body member on the board of the Federation of German Industries.

He predicted that a 15% tariff would “significantly harm Germany’s export-oriented industry.”

The trade agreement, according to France’s European affairs minister Benjamin Haddad, will provide temporary stability to economic actors who are threatened by the rise in American tariffs, but it is unbalanced.

Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Hanneke Boerma echoed that sentiment and demanded that the commission hold talks with Washington in response.

The entire bloc’s trade negotiations are handled by the European Commission.

This week, EU ambassadors will talk about the deal with the commission.

Before the deal, how was trade conducted?

If the two sides can’t agree on a deal by this Friday, the day that Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs,” which he imposed on nearly all of the world’s nations, will be implemented, he threatened to impose tariffs of 30 percent on EU goods on July 12.

In addition to the 25% tariffs on cars and car parts and the 50% levy on steel and aluminum products that Trump has already in place, these “reciprocal tariffs” are scheduled to go into effect.

If negotiations had broken down, it is believed that Brussels would have pushed ahead with a retaliatory tariffs package on 90 billion euros ($109bn) of US goods, including car parts and bourbon.

Trump frequently targeted the EU with his accusations that the bloc was “ripping off” the US.

In 2024, the US ran a $235.6bn goods deficit with the EU. According to EU data, pharmaceuticals, automotive parts, and industrial chemicals accounted for Europe’s biggest exports to the US.

What effects will the US and EU have on the deal?

A no-deal outcome, according to Bloomberg Economics, would have increased Friday’s effective US tariff rate to nearly 18%.

That figure is decreased by 16 percent thanks to the new agreement, which provides a temporary respite for European exporting companies. Trade barriers remain significantly higher than they were before Trump’s 2025 take office.

At the end of 2024, the average US tariff rate on EU exports was only 1.5 percent, according to a research group called Bruegel.

The Milken Institute’s chief economist, William Lee, stated to Al Jazeera, “I think the Trump strategy has been crystal-clear from the beginning. It’s brinkmanship, I suppose. … or be subject to high tariffs if you partner with the US.
