Michelle Agyemang ‘excelling’ at top university while playing for England

Michelle Agyemang, 19, found a top UK university to balance her Euros 2025 success with her academic work, demonstrating that you can “examine in the classroom and achieve goals beyond university.”

The UEFA Young Player of the Tournament award was presented to Michelle Agyemang.

Michelle Agyemang has won over the nation at just 19-years-old, thanks to her two late equalisers in the quarter-final and semis, which secured the Lionesses their place in the Euros final this weekend.

The teenager, who led England to receive their winners medals after beating Spain, was also crowned the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 Young Player of the Tournament. Just four years after working as a ball girl for England’s world cup qualifier against Northern Ireland at Wembley, Agyemang has now become the breakout star of this year’s Euros.

However, her story becomes even more impressive when you learn that she has been balancing a career as a Lioness and Arsenal player with studying for a degree at one of the best universities in the world.

Manager Sarina Wiegman has referred to Agyemang as “something special.”

Agyemang is currently working towards a degree in business management at King’s College London. The 19-year-old has been travelling between Brighton, where she has spent the last season on loan from Arsenal, and London, where she attends lectures at the university.

John Griffiths, one of Agyemang’s former development coaches, told England Football that her dedication to academic life always shone through.

He predicted that before the camp staff even awoke, she would be studying in the morning. She does everything she does with such humility, whether it is her academic performance, her football or how she treats others.

The vice-chancellor and president of King’s, professor Shitij Kapur, told the Mirror: “We are immensely proud of Michelle and all that she has achieved. To be named Young Player of the Tournament is a true testament to her incredible performance in the UEFA Women’s EURO, and she is an inspiration to the entire King’s community.

Every student should follow her example, stating that success in the classroom and achieving goals beyond the university at the same time should be encouraged.

Agyemang said, “It means the world to me. Only God’s grace allows for this. It’s only four years ago, so I was a ball girl, so I’m thankful for my teammates, the coaches, the staff, and God, the messiah, of course.

Spain, the reigning world champion, was defeated by the Lionesses on Sunday.

Agyemang expressed her desire to continue working hard, winning tournaments, and doing everything in her power to support her team, whether it be at a club or country. Let’s consider the present, she continued, “To be here, let’s think about it.” We are European champions, which is what’s important right now! I won’t say too much, but I’m going to enjoy myself!

Sarina Wiegman, the England manager, said before the final that Agyemang had “something special”. She explained: “She’s only 19-years-old, she’s very mature, she knows exactly what she has to do.” What is next for Agyemang? Wiegman said that if she continues down her current path, she has a “very bright future”.

‘Wipe it out faster’: Trump again threatens Iran over nuclear enrichment

Just a few weeks after conducting military strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities, US President Donald Trump has reiterated his threats to Iran.

Tehran’s statement on Monday came in response to the administration’s decision to continue pursuing nuclear enrichment for civilian purposes in previous months that scuttled when Israel launched a military offensive against Tehran in June.

Trump said that Iran was “sending very bad signals, very nasty signals” while speaking at a press conference in Scotland alongside Keir Starmer, the prime minister of the United Kingdom.

He claimed that they shouldn’t be doing that. Their nuclear potential was completely eliminated. They have the ability to restart. If they do, we’ll remove it as quickly as you can.

He declared, “We will do that gladly, openly and gladly.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi most recently asserted Iran’s right to enrich uranium ahead of talks with the UK, France, and Germany last week.

No breakthroughs were made during the talks, which were the first serious flurry of diplomacy since the US attacks and the subsequent escalation with Israel, according to Iranian officials, who described them as “serious, frank, and detailed.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian added that the country would continue to pursue negotiations despite not giving up on its nuclear program in a statement to Al Jazeera last week.

He continued, “I don’t think the 12-day war with Iran holding us is very optimistic.”

Israeli leaders have also indicated a willingness to launch new attacks against Iran, including those aimed at ousting the country’s leaders.

Israeli Defense Minister Ali Khamenei wanted to communicate with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Katz on Sunday.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, “If you continue to threaten Israel, our long arm will reach Tehran once more with even greater power, and this time personally to you.”

According to analysts, any Israeli resumption of attacks on Iran would require US approval utterly.

Trump had anticipated that Iran’s nuclear program would be “obliterated” by the US attacks on June 22.

However, more recent intelligence reports have suggested that the program may have been delayed by a shorter period of time because of the damage’s severity.

McIntosh wins second gold as GB earn diving bronze

Summer McIntosh, a teenager from Canada, won another gold medal on Monday in a bid to become famous at the World Aquatics Championships while Great Britain won the bronze medal in diving.

McIntosh has a chance to win the 400-meter freestyle final on Sunday, making it five times Michael Phelps’ total of five world championship victories.

The 18-year-old won the 200-meter individual medley in two minutes, 6.69 seconds, with Canadian Mary-Sophie Harvey, who was second, and American Alex Walsh, who was second.

Abbie Wood, 26, placed sixth overall thanks to McIntosh’s persistence to complete the task in Singapore.

The three-time Olympian will compete in the 400-meter individual medley, 800-meter freestyle, and 200-meter butterfly on Wednesday, her next competition.

In a nearly identical Olympic podium finish, British divers Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding took home bronze in the men’s 3m synchronized final.

Juan Celaya and Osmar Olvera from Mexico came in second again (449.28), while they came in third again with a score of 405.33.

However, Zheng Jiuyuan, the Olympic champion in China, and Wang Zongyuan’s new partner, proved too strong with a 467.31.

We wanted to come here and win another medal on our way to the [2028 Olympics] because we had a difficult year, with different amounts of time off and returning after the games [from Leeds to Sheffield].

Laugher continued, “I still have a few things to work on, but I’ve gained a lot of knowledge to give to the individual later this week.”

Due to having “mental blocks,” Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, who won an Olympic bronze last year, has found a new partner in Maisie Bond.

Newcastle open talks to sign Southampton’s Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale, an England goalkeeper, has been in talks with Newcastle.

As Newcastle attempts to secure Ramsdale on loan or permanently, negotiations are still in progress.

Southampton, who signed the England international from Arsenal for an initial £18 million in August 2024, are known to prefer a permanent sale on a substantial terms.

The move would bring Ramsdale and Eddie Howe, who was previously at Bournemouth, together, and the Magpies appear to be interested in acquiring first-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Ramsdale, who made 30 appearances for Southampton last season and was relegated with just 12 points, would also have the chance to stay in the Premier League. He was last called up by England in March.

How do Ramsdale’s goalsetters stack up against those from Newcastle?

Nick Pope won the first senior England cap since 121 years when he started against Italy at the San Siro in September 2022. The Magpies could now have a second English international stopper on their books after three years.

However, any reservations about signing a goalkeeper who has been relegated from the Premier League by three different clubs could be forgiven by Newcastle fans.

Ramsdale was a member of the Southampton side that lost 12 points last season, and he also had to leave Sheffield United in 2020-21 and Bournemouth in 2019-20. He even lost out to League Two while he was a loanee at Chesterfield seven years ago.

In a disastrous 2024-25 season, the 27-year-old managed 66 goals and kept three top-flight clean sheets, which was understandably below average because he played behind such a porous defense.

However, he has a record of 183 Premier League appearances, which is only 38 shy of Pope’s current number one, who is a Newcastle assistant.

Both Ramsdale and Eddie Howe’s backup keeper Martin Dubravka are less skilled shot stoppers than Pope but more accurate passers.

Molly-Mae Hague warns fans of deepfake perfume ad as she’s targeted by AI scam

According to the 26-year-old who laments the “scary” use of deep-fake clips, Molly-Mae Hague has claimed she has “never even smelled” the perfume that the deepfake advert claims is her favorite.

Fans were allegedly tricked into purchasing the perfume by the deepfake, according to Molly Mae.

Molly-Mae Hague has warned fans about the dangers of artificial intelligence after a fake video of her promoting a perfume went viral.

The influencer and businesswoman, 26, shared a video online discussing a fan interaction that left her shaken up over the use of the technology. She said: “Yesterday while I was in London, a girl came up to me and she was like oh I’ve just bought my best friend the perfume you love, for her birthday.”

The girl told Molly-Mae that she had bought “that Nyla one from TikTok”. The former Love Island star said: “I was gobsmacked, I was like ‘that’s AI.’”

Molly-Mae’s sister, Zoe Rae, said: “I thought it was a clip from an old YouTube video that they’ve used.”

However, Molly-Mae continued to say, “There’s a clip going around on TikTok, they do it with lots of different people, they’ll literally put AI over the clip and be like “oh I love this Nyla perfume” in my literal voice, but it’s AI, how terrifying.”

With her sister Zoe Rae, Molly-Mae was talking about the AI video.

She explained to the fans, “I’ve never even smelt this perfume because people assume it’s my favorite perfume.”

Molly-Mae is not the first celebrity to be the victim of deep-fake videos – with stars like Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Nigella Lawson, and even Martin Lewis warning against the damaging effects of this technology.

A person’s face or voice is replaced with that of another person in a video or audio recording known as a deepfake. They can be used to sell goods or services online in incredibly realistic ways.

According to Police UK, some “exact likenesses of a real person” can be compared to fake content. Although they are occasionally used for malicious and criminal purposes, it says they aren’t always harmful or illegal.

One commenter wrote, “If people are gullible enough to believe that Molly-Mae or any other celeb wears some cheap TikTok shop perfume, then that’s on them.” Another once said, “It’s very obvious, lol. On TikTok, I’ve seen the same thing happen to various perfumes and influencers.

Others claimed to be victims of the fake advertisement, though. One person claimed, “I hadn’t even realized it was AI until now.” Someone else wrote, “OMG I feel for this too! I purchased it” ! A third person asked, “Ahhh, I’m seeing this now that I’ve already purchased it.

In 2024, the Advertising Standards Agency received 1, 691 reports of potential scams, according to a report released earlier this year. According to it, celebrity scams accounted for the “vast majority” of Scam Ad Alerts sent last year, making up the main trend.

According to the warning, “Scammers continue to target celebrities and other public figures to promote cryptocurrency, investments, keto slimming gummies, and other things.”

Before handing over your information to a celebrity in an online advertisement, you should do some checks before purchasing the product. Check if the ad is coming from their official account and see if it seems out of line, according to the ASA. Although some famous people do support products, they rarely advocate for “complex investments” or “wunder cures”
