Katherine Ryan breaks silence on fourth pregnancy and says it’s ‘irresponsible’

Comedian Katherine Ryan has announced she’s expecting another child, but says while she’s always wanted more kids, it feels ‘irresponsible’ to her others

Katherine Ryan admits her fourth pregnancy may be “irresponsible”. The comedian, 41, announced that she and her partner Bobby Koostra are expanding their family – they are parents to a son, born in 2021, a daughter, born in 2022, and Katherine has a daughter, Violet, from a previous relationship.

But while she has always wanted more children, she admits that expecting her fourth may be a touch irresponsible. “Here’s what I think: I do love making people. I love them, making them with you, it’s always what I wanted since prom. I think at this point, we need to see where it goes, but I think it might be almost irresponsible to the children that we have, and to ourselves,” she said to Bobby.

Speaking on the most recent episode of their podcast, Katherine revealed she hoped she was having a boy. But if she has a boy, the child is all Bobby’s she joked.

“The boys are yours and the girls, I feel like, are mine,” she said. Bobby added: “I think the best thing for the family would be a girl.” Katherine revealed the news of her pregnancy to Bobby on their podcast, leaving him shocked. “I wouldn’t have known from the last scans that we’ve had, but congratulations,” he said.

Katherine joked that the pregnancy “explained the 20lb weight gain”, with Bobby admitting she had kept her pregnancy relatively secret. Her daughter, Violet, however, hinted at the news on social media last week when she shared a clip of her mum’s blossoming baby bump.

But Katherine revealed that her partner’s sleep had been more disturbed than hers had been, with Bobby admitting he was in a “rough patch,” before explaining that the next few months will fall on Katherine. Speaking about her pregnancy, Katherine opened up about suffering a miscarriage months before falling pregnant.

The star said: “Regarding the pregnancy. We obviously lost one, which I spoke about in September, and we got pregnant again and… It’s not, like, I am happy I love having these kids, but I think I personally needed to get to a place where I was a bit like, ‘Uh-oh’.” Bobby added: “Well you do not like being told what to do so when you’re getting to an age where women are getting whatever way that goes…”

Katherine let out an audible gasp, before Bobby went on to add: “Harder to have a baby and you’re like, ‘I’ll tell you what I’ll do, I’ll have one’ and so like after the miscarriage you were more keen than ever to get it done because of the biological age and the feeling that someone telling you you can’t do something and you’re like, ‘I will do this’ and I respect that about you. And so that’s where we are, and I think we can say this might be the last one.”

But their parenting skills can be quite different. Violet has introduced their son Fred to an iPad, which Bobby is against. Speaking about the bombshell, Katherine explained: “It’s had the affect that you would think it would have, Fred is completely transfixed by this techonology and there’s a Spider Man game and he’s like (gasps), like I hear Bobby and Fred, we all sleep in the same room now – why in a five bedroom house?

“We’re up in the attic, we’re hiding from rogue government, and Fred’s like, ‘Dad, I need to play Spider-Man, Dad, where’s my iPad?’ He’s having dreams about it!” Bobby joked that Fred will often wake up and say “Spider-Man game!” before falling back asleep.

Earlier this year, Katherine opened up on her wishes for a fourth child as she admitted she didn’t think time was on her side. The former Celebrity Gogglebox star visited a fertility clinic with husband Bobby and discussed the chances of them being able to conceive.

In the second season of her hit U&W show, At Home With Katherine Ryan, she said: “It’s not that surprising that over-40 women have fewer follicles than we once did. But we talk a lot about male fertility as well, which is on a steep decline. But I would still like a fourth baby. We are so blessed to have the kids that we do have. Having children is not for everyone, but I personally really like making people. I think it’s a superpower, if you can do it.”

‘Rested’ Pacquiao Relishing Boxing Comeback At 46

As he geared up for Mario Barrios’ return to the world welterweight title fight next month, Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday dissayed worries about his 46-year career.

Four years after his last fight ended in a disappointing defeat, the charismatic Filipino boxing icon announced he would fight World Boxing Council (WBC) champion Barrios on July 19 in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao, who won 12 world titles in eight different weight classes during his glittering professional career that started in 1995, claimed that his resumption was fueled by the glamour of championship boxing.

At a press conference in Los Angeles, Pacquiao stated, “I’m coming back because I miss my boxing.” Particularly in these circumstances, including being interviewed, holding a press conference, attending a training camp, and such.

I overlooked that. However, I’ve had four years of rest in my body, which has been good for me. I return now, too.

After losing to Yordenis Ugas in 2021, Pacquiao claimed that his decision to retire had left him devastated.

Even when I put on my gloves, Pacquiao said, “I can still fight, I can still feel my body, I can still work hard.”

I was so devastated when I said I had to hang up my gloves four years ago. I was crying, but I was unable to let the tears out of my eyes stop.

Pacquiao, however, revealed that he still had the strength and fitness to fight despite having exercised at home in the Philippines.

I realized that I still have that passion when I’m playing basketball or working out at the gym at home. He said, “I still have that speed and power.”

Low-risk’s comeback, &nbsp

Some boxers worry that Barrios’ return will pose a threat to the Filipino’s safety, as some have done before.

Pacquiao clarified those concerns by saying that his family and loved ones were unwaveringly supportive of his recovery.

“I’m thankful for them for their concern,” Pacquiao told AFP. My family is the one who really worries me, though. My family observed my body condition, how I train, and how I move. Because they can see the old Pacquiao style, they back me.

Due to a WBC rule that allows former champions to request a title fight when coming out of retirement, Pacquiao, who has reunited with veteran trainer Freddie Roach for the next fight, can now contest the title right away.

After passing medical exams, Pacquiao was given a clearance to return to the ring by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, who in a statement to AFP on Tuesday stated that the fighter’s return was “low risk.”

According to Salaiman, “Manny Pacquiao is at no higher risk than any other fighter entering the ring.” For four years, Manny has rested his body. He doesn’t consume alcohol. He doesn’t use drugs. He has cared for himself as a family man. He is therefore at the lowest risk among the various dangers.

Barrios, Pacquiao’s rival, said he would disregard the Filipino’s reputation as one of his most admired fighters.

Barrios said of Pacquiao, “There are nothing but positive things to say about him outside of the ring.” He’s a difficult person to dislike. You can tell, however, that it’s either to kill or to be killed.

You can tell that he’s going to get me out of there if he ever causes me harm. So I just need to enter the area and ensure that my hand is raised when the fight is over.

Meghan Markle shares even more intimate unseen snaps of Princess Lilibet with dad Harry

Princess Lilibet, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, turns four today and mum Meghan has shared another two photos of the birthday girl – this time with her dad calling it the “sweetest bond to watch unfold”

Meghan Markle has shared yet more never-before-seen photos of Princess Lilibet – this time with her dad Prince Harry. The young princess is celebrating her fourth birthday today and earlier Meghan took to Instagram to share several snaps of her cuddling the daughter. And now, she’s posted another two unseen snaps of her daughter on her big day, this time showing her with her father.

The first picture shows a newborn Lilibet being cradled by Harry as he glazes lovingly at his daughter. The second shows a grown up little hand-in-hand with her dad as they walk down a sandy lane. Meghan wrote alongside the snaps: “The sweetest bond to watch unfold. Daddy’s little girl and favorite adventurer. Happy birthday Lili!”

Lili – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s youngest child – was born on June 4 2021 and was named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. She only became entitled to be a princess when her grandfather the King acceded to the throne, because of rules set out by King George V in 1917.

Harry and Meghan started using prince and princess for Archie and Lili after the princess’s christening in 2023, following correspondence with Charles about the matter.

The duchess usually only shares photos of her daughter pictured from behind to protect her privacy, but in more recent photos such as those from earlier today, Lili’s eyes and the top half of her face could be seen, with her nose and mouth and the rest of her face covered by Meghan’s arms as she hugged the princess.

And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “I suppose Meghan is showing the children more on Instagram because she knows there is a public appetite for photos of them. But she’s being very coy about allowing us to see what they really look like.

” That’s fair enough, if she wants to protect their privacy – though you could certainly argue that there’s a very fine line between using them to publicise her Instagram account and her determination to keep their family life private.

“With both children at school, she and Harry will obviously have a bit more time to pursue their various activities. Meghan seems to be ramping up her projects more and more, but I think they will both continue to put their family first – just like William and Catherine. And there’s nothing wrong with that if you are lucky enough to be able to do so”.

Previously, she suggested the couple may reveal more and more of their children in the future. She explained: “They are clearly fiercely protective of their children. And I think much of that stems from Harry’s experience of having cameras trained on him when he was a little boy – and ever since.

” He showed his contempt for the cameras when he was very young, sticking his tongue out, as he sat in the back of a car with his mother. She told him to stop it very quickly! Of course, seeing only glimpses of them makes them even more interesting to the public. And it brings extra attention to whichever video they appear in, which is commercially valuable.

“Sooner or later, they are bound to release pictures of the children. Otherwise, there’s a real danger that paparazzi will follow them until they get what they want – in the hope that a newspaper or magazine somewhere in the world will buy the pictures”.

Pro-Palestine protesters in UK call for Israel arms embargo, sanctions

Pro-Palestine campaigners have rallied against Israel’s punishing war on Gaza, gathering outside the British Parliament in London and demanding a full arms embargo and that hard-hitting sanctions be imposed on the Israeli government.

Wednesday’s march, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), came as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer took weekly questions from parliamentarians.

Thousands of protesters created a “Red Line for Palestine”, wearing red while encircling the building.

Starmer told Parliament that Israel’s actions in the besieged and bombarded enclave are “appalling” and “intolerable”.

“It is right to describe these days as dark”, Starmer said. “We have strongly opposed the expansion of Israeli military operations, and settler violence, and the blocking of humanitarian aid”.

Starmer added that the UK has imposed sanctions, suspended free trade negotiations, and is currently considering further sanctions.

But the UK leader, his Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and his government have come under heavy criticism in the UK for not speaking more forcefully backed by actual action earlier in the war, and for not doing enough now as Palestinians face what United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called the “cruellest phase of this cruel conflict”.

Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands, reporting from London, said the protest went on for several hours and throughout Starmer’s entire speech to Parliament.

“There was a red line around the whole of Parliament”, Challands said.

“These protesters had formed a cordon, essentially all the way down from Parliament to the first bridge … that goes across to the other side of the]River] Thames, and they came back up … and returned over Westminster Bridge to join up here to make a full loop”, he added.

According to Challands, protesters say that their “red line” is to show that the UK government should have its own red lines when it comes to Gaza.

It has not had “sufficient” red lines in place, he said. “The protesters say there should have been red lines before 54, 000 deaths”.

In his remarks, Starmer also called for an end to the siege and said humanitarian aid must reach Gaza quickly and in the required quantities.

Israel has maintained a crippling blockade on the territory, barring the entry of much-needed aid, including food, medicine, clean water, and fuel required by generators. A famine now looms as more than two million people are facing starvation, the UN has warned.

Meanwhile, a controversial, United States-backed group that runs aid distribution points in Gaza – the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) – has suspended operations for a full day. Since the organization started operating in the area on May 27, Israel opened fire on hungry aid seekers several times, killing dozens of Palestinians and injuring hundreds more.

As more people claim aid is being abused, and Guterres, the UN’s Guterres, demands an independent investigation, the killing of people who desperately seek food supplies has sparked growing international outcry.
