Joss Stone has admitted she’s in for a “crazy” day on Saturday as she gets ready to give birth. The soul singer, 38, from Dover, who adopted son, Bear, at the end of last year, is pregnant with her third child, who will be a little brother or sister for Violet, three, and Shackleton, two, who Joss shares with her partner and former US Marine, Cody DaLuz.

Updating fans on baby number four, Joss reckoned she ‘looks massive’ as she revealed there had been a slight change of plan regarding her C-section. Showing off her baby bump, sporting a multi-coloured silk dress, she said: “Ok, bump update: I look massive today. This is a big belly. We are four days away pretty much. Baby is coming out on Saturday.”

Explaining that her daughter has a dance recital the same day, she continued: “So, I said to my doctor who came to the gig in Nashville: ‘I’m so sorry but we’ve got to change the C-section date because baby girl has a dance recital’ and he said ‘don’t worry. I’ll just move it.’

“So it moved from 10am to 4pm. So now Vi is going to dance around 1:10pm then I have to be at the hospital for about 2pm.

“So, it’s going to be a crazy day.” The singer captioned the clip: “Happy mummy Mondays!! I am so excited. Not long now. Eeeeekkkk!!!”

The singer officially adopted their son when when he was just a month old and weighed just 4lbs 12oz – with Joss being advised to keep the tot indoors during the early months of his life because of premature lungs.

In a video posted on Instagram, the Have Little Faith star was seen sitting in her car with Bear, explaining: “I am sat in the car with him because he is so little that he can’t go out because he was so premature his lungs are a little bit vulnerable. I’m just here with little man hanging out.”

Joss told HELLO! magazine that her partner, Cody, was adopted, which made the couple keen to repeat the process in their own family.

She said on social media: “The reason why Cody even exists is because his bio mum loved him enough to make an adoption plan for him and the same goes for Bear.

“Honestly bio mothers do not get the gratitude they deserve. It is a more selfless love than I knew existed. Truly. We are just so happy to be part of this beautiful cycle.”

Just weeks later, Joss, found out that little Bear was about to become a big brother as she shared a snap of herself with a pregnancy test, saying: “Honestly. Shocked was an understatement. Nothing and no one can take our joy now. We are so chuffed !!!! Maybe we should call the ‘Less is More’ tour the preggo tour.”

Fern Britton says her ex-husband Phil Vickery stopped talking to her after her mum died. The 67-year-old TV presenter and the This Morning chef were reported to have maintained a “basic” level of communication after they split in 2020, but Fern has now revealed she didn’t hear another word from her him since her mum Ruth died in 2018.

Fern – who has 31-year-old twin sons Jack and Harry, and a 27-year-old daughter called Grace with Clive – admitted: “Like many people, I’ve been through divorce so I have an understanding of it.

“As soon as I heard, I went and told the girls; they were both living with me at that stage.

“‘I’m an orphan,’ I announced and they burst out laughing. “It was exactly the tonic I needed.”

Fern dropped from a size 22 to a size 12 and lost five stone after undergoing gastric band surgery in 2006, but her split from Phil after 20 years of marriage made her gain weight.

And Fern’s mission is to stay healthy for her children.

She said: “It is my duty to stay as healthy as I can for the sake of my children.

Areas near Sudan’s Khartoum at risk of famine, says UN agency

The risk of famine in Sudan has extended close to the capital Khartoum, the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has warned as the country’s brutal civil war grinds on into its third year.

The agency has discovered “severe” levels of hunger in the town of Jabal Awliya, some 40km (25 miles) south of Khartoum, the WFP’s Sudan representative Laurent Bukera said on Tuesday.

Speaking upon his return from a visit to Khartoum state, Bukera described “widespread destruction” in the town and other areas around Khartoum, and called for urgent international action to prevent famine.

“The needs are immense,” Bukera said from Port Sudan, describing “limited access to water, healthcare and electricity”, as well as a cholera outbreak.

“Several areas in the south of the city are at high risk of famine,” he added. “The international community must act now – by stepping up funding to stop famine in the hardest-hit areas and to invest in Sudan’s recovery.”

The WFP, which says it is assisting four million people across the country, has had to reduce food rations in areas at risk of famine to 70 percent due to a major funding shortfall.

‘Meeting basic needs critical’

The government-aligned Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been locked in a battle for power since April 2023. The army took control of Khartoum in March and declared the city “completely free of rebels” in late May.

Now that WFP has access to the area and is able to make regular aid deliveries, the agency said it was doing everything it could to bring the local population back from the brink of famine.

Bukera said “the level of hunger, destitution and desperation” found in Jabal Awliya was “severe, and basically confirmed the risk of famine”.

The war has killed tens of thousands of people and created the world’s largest hunger and displacement crises. Over four million have fled the country and some 10.5 million are internally displaced, according to United Nations estimates.

Bukera said that with people expected to return to heavily damaged areas like Khartoum, the pressure on already overstretched resources would intensify.

“WFP is deeply concerned, and meeting basic needs – especially food – is critical and urgent,” he said.

Famine has already been declared in five areas across Sudan, including three displacement camps near el-Fasher in the southwest.

It has been all but confirmed in el-Fasher itself, where aid agencies say a lack of access to data has prevented an official famine declaration.

Japan beat Indonesia 6-0 in final AFC World Cup Group C qualifier

Daichi Kamada scored twice as Japan rounded off their successful World Cup qualifying campaign with a 6-0 thrashing of Patrick Kluivert’s Indonesia in Osaka.

Kamada, an FA Cup winner with Crystal Palace in England this season, struck twice in Tuesday’s first half as already-qualified Japan finished their campaign as Group C winners, scoring 30 goals in their 10 matches.

Takefusa Kubo, Ryoya Morishita, Shuto Machino and substitute Mao Hosoya were also on target against Indonesia, who finished fourth in the group.

Kluivert’s side, who were backed by a large number of supporters who had travelled to Japan, advanced to a further round with five other teams to decide two more Asian qualifiers for next year’s tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The result matched Japan’s previous winning margin against Indonesia, which also came in a 6-0 win in 1976.

Japan coach Hajime Moriyasu has set the ambitious target of winning the World Cup in North America.

His side will play friendlies against teams from outside Asia over the next 12 months, and Kamada is looking to learn from the experience.

“Playing against Asian teams and against the kind of European teams who will be at the World Cup is totally different,” said the 28-year-old.

“As we play these games, we will start to see a lot of areas where we need to improve. We need to come together as a team and overcome these problems when they crop up.”

Japan have already lined up away friendlies against Mexico and the US in September and will face four as yet unnamed opponents at home before the end of the year.

Moriyasu said his players need to keep improving “in all departments” and praised their attitude against Indonesia.

“The challenge for the players is to break past their limits and grow,” he said.

“They did that in training and in the game, where they were never satisfied and always looking for the next goal and the next chance, which is great to see.”

Japan lost their unbeaten qualifying record in a 1-0 defeat away to Australia last week, with coach Hajime Moriyasu fielding an experimental lineup with qualification already in the bag.

He started with two more debutants against Indonesia, handing first caps to defender Junnosuke Suzuki and winger Shunsuke Mito.

Kamada opened the scoring in the 15th minute, heading home from a Mito cross.

The Palace forward turned provider for his team’s second, combining with Kubo before the Real Sociedad man fired past Indonesia goalkeeper Emil Audero.

Indonesia lost defender Kevin Diks to injury midway through the first half, and his replacement, Yakob Sayuri, lasted only 15 minutes before he also had to go off after a clash of heads.

Kamada scored Japan’s third on the stroke of half-time, waltzing through the Indonesia defence before tucking the ball over Audero.

Morishita volleyed home at the back post in the 55th minute for his first international goal.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s rarely seen daughter Aimee’s new look as she returns to spotlight

Aimee Osbourne is the eldest child of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, but she’s always shunned the spotlight, unlike her famous sister Kelly and brother Jack

Unlike her famous parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and siblings Kelly and Jack, Aimee has always maintained a low profile, shying away from the limelight. However, after unveiling a surprising new look recently, she seems to be gradually stepping into the public eye through her music career, echoing her father’s rock ‘n’ roll roots.

The Osbournes first hit our screens in 2002, introducing MTV audiences to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s kids, Kelly, 39, and Jack, 38. However, many fans were unaware that Celebrity Big Brother star Sharon and Black Sabbath legend Ozzy have a third offspring – Aimee, who is now 41.

While her younger siblings basked in the limelight following The Osbournes’ success, Aimee chose to avoid the public eye, leaving the family nest at 16 when they embarked on their reality TV journey.

“I’m not some weirdo depressed daughter that’s afraid of the world and locks herself in her room all day; I just didn’t choose to do the show,” Aimee has previously shared with US television.

“I want to be a singer, and I felt if I’d stayed with the Osbournes and done the whole thing I would have been typecast right away. [Mum] was hurt and we definitely had a tough time with disagreements. I’m more reserved and my private life is very important.”

Choosing to avoid the spotlight, Aimee moved out of the family home at just 16 when filming began, a decision that Sharon has since expressed regret over. Now, at 41, it seems Aimee is ready to share snippets of her life with the public, often using her Instagram platform to promote her latest music.

Earlier this week, Aimee Osbourne was photographed leaving a hotel in Manchester alongside Wes Leavins from the band Bridgette Calls Me Baby, who are currently on a UK tour – sparking rumours of a new romance for the Osbourne nepo baby.

Last year, Aimee marked a significant career milestone with an emotional Instagram post, sharing her experience of recording at the iconic Abbey Road Studios for the first time. Encouraging her followers to ‘keep going’ during challenging times, she reflected on a year filled with ‘heartbreak and twists and turns’.

Recording under the moniker ARO, Aimee released her latest single, Siren, in collaboration with Fjora Music in November 2024. Her debut single, Raining Gold, was released back in 2015.

Aimee has previously openly admitted that she would have preferred to stay at home a bit longer, with mum Sharon confessing that it broke her heart when her eldest left.

“She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea – it was appalling to her,” Sharon revealed on The Talk in 2018. “And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.”

While Aimee’s musical aspirations remain strong, her relationship with sister Kelly has unfortunately faded over time. In a 2021 interview, Kelly confirmed that she and Aimee are estranged and no longer in contact.

“We don’t talk,” Kelly revealed to Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast. “We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand her.”

These remarks from Kelly come after Aimee confessed in 2015 that she and her younger sister weren’t exactly close. Speaking to The Independent, Aimee admitted: “I wouldn’t say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance. Do we socialise? No.”

Ten dead, including suspect, in Austria school shooting

An attacker shot at least nine people dead, before killing themselves, at a school in the southeastern Austrian city of Graz, according to local authorities cited by media reports.

Police said on Tuesday that they believed the assailant acted alone before turning the gun on themself. “Several” other people were seriously wounded, according to the authorities.

Graz Mayor Elke Kahr described the incident as a “terrible tragedy”, the Austria Press Agency reported. It added that those killed included students and at least one adult.

Officials did not immediately give information on the perpetrator.

Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, who was on his way to Graz, said the shooting “is a national tragedy that deeply shocks our whole country”.

Some weapons, such as rifles and shotguns that must be reloaded manually after each shot, can be bought in Austria after attaining the age of 18 without a permit.

Gun dealers only need to check if there is no weapons ban on the buyer, and the weapon gets registered in the central weapons register.
