Lewis Capaldi honoured by Google after surprise appearance at Glastonbury Festival

Anyone looking for Lewis Capaldi’s name online can now read the message that Google has written in sweet tribute to him after his return to the Glastonbury Festival on Friday night.

Lewis Capaldi was given a special tribute by Google after his surprise appearance at Glastonbury on Friday night – two years after he last performed at the festival.

The Scottish singer was emotional as he returned to Worthy Farm, telling fans he needed to finish what he couldn’t last time. Back in 2023, Lewis, 28, struggled to finish his set, with his voice faltering, and told fans he would need to take a break for a while.

But last night, the singer delighted the crowd by performing on stage as he declared: “I’m back, baby.” And after his performance, Google shared a touching tribute in honour of Lewis.

Anyone Googling his name will now see a sweet message with the words “Welcome back Lewis – Someone we love” surrounded by red heart emojis. Lewis released a new song called Survive ahead of his Friday performance at a festival. He shared a video with the caption “It’s been a while,” in addition to the post that announced it.

The new song has lyrics like “I swear to God I’ll survive” and “I’m going to get up and live until I die” in full force. Since stepping out of the spotlight due to his mental health, this is his first new album.

In the past, Lewis has been open about his mental health and hypochondria. He stated in 2022 that, for sure, there is no one else who can intervene if I’m having a panic attack. Due to how severe my anxiety was at one point, my mother was forced to sleep in my bed as recently as a month ago. I had a bit of a bender, so I’ll be honest: I think that was alcohol-related.

He continued, “It never really reached a tipping point until after I was famous, or after I was a musician, or after I reached a height. I was such an anxious child when I first started experiencing it, but now that I am much more aware of it and talk about it a lot more with people and try to learn more about it, I think the behavior was a result of anxiety.

Lewis struggled to finish his set at Glastonbury during his final performance. He apologised to the audience by saying, “Glastonbury, I’m really sorry. I’m a little irritated by myself. Someone You Loved’s vocals were soon resurrected by the crowd.

“Over the coming weeks, I feel like I’ll be taking a wee break.” So, for the rest of the year, perhaps even, you won’t see much of me. But he said to the crowd, “I hope you’re still up for watching us” when I do return and when I do see you. He expressed his emotion by saying, “I genuinely dreamed of doing this. This has been sufficient even if I never get to do it again.

Lewis opened his show with Before You Go on Friday, saying that it was “second time’s a charm” in reference to what transpired before. He claimed he didn’t want to say too much or that he would cry as he thanked fans for supporting him both during and after the performance.

He stopped the chants and said he only had a short set and limited time before giving them a break because they were “Oh Lewis Capaldi.” He expressed his gratitude to the audience by saying, “Truly. for each and every one of you.

Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon kill three people

Three people have been killed in Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, which continue despite a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in November.

One person was killed in a drone attack by the “Israeli enemy” on a car in Kunin, Lebanon’s ministry of public health reported on Saturday, and two others were killed by an Israeli attack on a motorcycle in Mahrouna, near Tyre.

Hassan Muhammad Hammoudi, a terrorist, was blamed for Israeli-style antitank missile attacks on Israeli territory during the recent war, according to the Israeli army.

The most recent Israeli attacks occurred one day after a woman was killed and 25 others were hurt in southern Lebanon.

The woman was killed in an Israeli drone attack on an apartment in Nabatieh, according to the Lebanon’s National News Agency.

A Hezbollah rocket was used in the woman’s death, according to a spokesperson for the Israeli army’s social media posts that claimed the army “did not target any civilian buildings.”

Despite a ceasefire that ended more than a year of firefights and nearly two months of an all-out war, Israel, which maintains troops in five locations in south Lebanon, has repeatedly bombed its neighbor.

President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun blasted Israel on Friday for repeatedly breaking the US-brokered agreement, which required the country to formally withdraw its troops.

The Lebanese army and United Nations peacekeepers would remain in charge under the terms of the agreement, which would allow Hezbollah to withdraw its fighters from the Litani River, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the Israeli border.

Farrell steps down as Dublin boss after Tyrone loss

After losing to Tyrone in the All-Ireland quarter-final, Dublin manager Dessie Farrell resigned from his position.

Farrell led the Dubs to two All-Ireland titles and five Leinster Senior Football titles during his six years in charge.

After a second successive last eight exit in the Sam Maguire for Dublin after losing 0-23 to 0-16 to the Red Hands on Saturday, Farrell, an All-Ireland champion in his playing days, leaves his position.

He told BBC Sport NI, “I would have informed the county board that this was my last one at the start of the season, and I also made it known to the players that it was always going to end.”

“It was a pleasure to work with so many excellent people, players, coaches, and backroom teams over the years, and I’m very grateful for everything they have done for Dublin football, including some special relationships and fond memories along the way,” said one player.

In his first year in charge of Dublin, Farrell took Jim Gavin’s place in 2020, leading the nation to a sixth successive win under Sam Maguire.

Under his leadership, they then defeated Kerry in the 2023 final to claim their second All-Ireland victory.

Farrell acknowledged that Tyrone’s seven-point defeat was a difficult situation in which to bow out.

X Factor star ‘splits from husband of eight years’ as she makes Glastonbury debut

As she makes her Glastonbury debut this weekend at Worthy Farm, a former X Factor contestant has reportedly called it quits with her eight-year husband.

A former X Factor contestant is making her Glastonbury debut while splitting with her eight-year husband. According to reports, Lucie Jones and Ethan Boroian are no longer together.

The couple had met each other during their X Factor auditions in 2009, but they have now called it quits. It’s said the duo are quietly going through a divorce and Lucie no longer followers her husband on social media.

According to some, the two relationships have simply gotten too far apart. According to a source, the couple realized they were “young when they married,” and now Lucie’s focus has changed.

Speaking to the Sun, an insider said: “She has been busy focusing on pursuing her career on the West End stage and travelling the globe, they’re moving on with their lives. Lucie’s in a really good place and has already moved on and met someone else and has loved performing at Glastonbury.”

They continued, “Ethan is no longer in the show business, and their lives are going in a different direction.”

For the first time since joining the Worthy Farm festival, Lucie made her Glastonbury appearance. As she prepared for a three-day break, she promised “cool surprises” during the “huge celebration of music and theater.”

She admitted she was delighted when she got the call to be involved. Speaking to the Mirror before the sets, she explained what people could expert from her.

She continued, “When I went there last year, I was like, why is there no musical theater here?” These people would enjoy some defying gravity, I was just walking around.

Many people, in my opinion, associate musical theater with tap dancing and jazz hands. But I don’t do that because of my style. You’ll be a fan of every song, and it’s going to be very upbeat. Of course, there is a little bit of that in musical theater, but there are many other things as well.

And she continued to make fun of her sets. A few of the people I have are playing at Glastonbury, and she said, “I’m going to be joining them” or “I’ll be joining them during their set.”

One or two of them has me very excited about it. They won’t necessarily be musical theater acts, but they’re going to be super cool.

Lucie previously represented the UK in Eurovision. Following her stint on the contest eight years ago she then credited the X Factor for “changing her life”. The series produced a number of stars including winner Joe McElderry, who Lucie still keeps in touch with now. “I’m going to Ibiza tomorrow and I’m going to see Joe McElderry,” she said.
