British acting legend Ray Winstone has candidly revealed his desire to “knock out” a Hollywood icon after the star was “rude” towards his wife.

Ray, who has become a cherished figure in British cinema, boasts an impressive CV with standout performances in Sexy Beast, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and the more recent King of Thieves.

Alongside a slew of high-profile awards, Ray’s illustrious career has allowed him to rub shoulders with some of the most esteemed actors in the industry.

Yet, on a recent instalment of the Things We Like podcast hosted by Eamonn Holmes and Paul Coyte, the 68-year-old did not hold back when discussing his disdain for Jack Nicholson.

Ray has previously mentioned his lack of rapport with The Shining actor, but he elaborated on the reasons during the podcast: “We just didn’t get on, you know. I just found him… Listen, he’s getting older, and maybe he has lots of things going on with him. I didn’t like him.”

He continued: “I thought he was so far up his own a*s, it was unbelievable. And, you know, he was very rude – he was very rude to me; he was rude to my wife.

“If he had been a younger man, I definitely would have knocked him out, you know.”

This isn’t the first occasion Ray has expressed his less-than-favourable opinions about Jack.

Back in 2014, at a BAFTA Life in Pictures event following their collaboration in the A-list ensemble cast of The Departed, Ray aired his dissatisfaction with Jack Nicholson, bluntly stating that they “didn’t get on too well.”

Jack may have come under fire from Ray’s comments., but the 88-year-old Hollywood legend has previously been praised by other stars. Morgan Freeman fondly remembered working with him in The Bucket List (2007), as he expressed to IMDb: “I think we all have a private bucket list. It may not be written down, but I’m constantly checking them off. I just checked off Jack Nicholson. Every day was a holiday because I’ve been praying at the temple of Jack ever since Five Easy Pieces.”

Love Island’s Ben and Harry unrecognisable before hair transplants

The series 12 Love Island stars are beginning their fame journey – but two of the boys hard to recognise in pre-villa pics before undergoing hair transplants

Love Island stars Ben Holbrough and Harry Cooksley look unrecognisable in pre-villa pics, as both have revealed they’ve undergone a hair transplant.

Ben, 23, underwent the treatment at the age of 22, just one year before heading into the Love Island villa, while 30-year-old Harry travelled to Turkey to have the procedure at 24.

Both Islanders have played a huge part in the shows drama this series, despite only being in the villa for a matter of days. On the first night, Ben, who was coupled up with Shakira, was stolen by American bombshell Toni. This left Shakira with just 24 hours to form a connection with another Islander.

She struck up a connection with Harry, who was originally coupled up with Sophie – who was brutally dumped from the villa on day 2.

However, Shakira and Toni may struggle to recognise their partners in pics before their hair transplants. Before and after results for Ben can be seen in a video posted by 360 Hair Clinic, in Brighton.

Before his appearance in the villa, the clinic posted a video of his journey explaining: “Ben’s hair transplant journey was facilitated by us at 360 Hair Clinic, supported by our ongoing treatment plans and 360 Optimum Hair products to maintain thickness, strength, and natural-looking results.”

In a separate post, the clinic posted a six month update, in which Ben’s dark hair could be seen getting thicker and fuller. “And as you can see on your screens watching Love Island, Ben’s hair is looking better than ever,” the clinic wrote.

Harry on the other hand, travelled to Turkey around six years ago for his operation – which he called the “perfect experience.”

In a YouTube video from the clinic documenting his journey, the star said: “It was a perfect experience for something that I really wanted to have done and I’m very glad that I found EstePera.” Showing off the before and after results, Harry looked completely unrecognisable with no hair.

It looks like it’s set to be another dramatic night for Harry tonight as he finds out Blu and Shakira shared a kiss. It’s Dejon who spills the tea, as he tells his friend: “You know he (Blu) kissed her (Shakira)?”

A shocked Harry then replies: “No he didn’t…I don’t believe what I’m hearing.” Harry then asks Shakira about the kiss with Blu before telling her: “All that matters is I want to pursue things with you.”

How will things unfold for the couple?

Brazil forward Matheus Cunha said his “dream” had become a reality after completing a £63m move to Manchester United.

United activated a release clause in Cunha’s Wolves contract this month.

The deal, which was subject to a visa and a medical, has now been completed.

Cunha has signed a five-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.

“Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt.

Alexander-Arnold speaks Spanish at Real unveiling

To play this video you need to enable JavaScript in your browser.

England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold described joining Real Madrid as a “dream come true” and “huge responsibility” as he addressed the audience in Spanish at his presentation on Thursday.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, would have been able to leave Liverpool on a free transfer at the end of his contract on 30 June but the 15-time European champions Real paid the Reds a fee to release him early so that he could play for them at this month’s Club World Cup.

A highlights video showing Alexander-Arnold as a young player plus his goals, assists and defending for Liverpool and England was played prior to Real president Florentino Perez welcoming the right-back to the club.

Alexander-Arnold, who was sat with his girlfriend, Estelle Behnke, his parents and brothers, then took to the stage and addressed the audience – which included former Real left-back Roberto Carlos – in Spanish.

“Thank you so much to President Florentino Perez and Real Madrid for this opportunity,” he said.

“Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day. It’s a dream come true. I’m very happy and proud to be here. I’m eager to show the club and the fans what I can do.”

Alexander-Arnold said he is “ready to give everything for the team and for the Real Madrid fans”, adding: “I want to show them what I can do, I want to win many titles, be champions, and continue to grow and enjoy football with the best in the world.”

The two-time Premier League champion was then pictured with Perez holding the Real shirt, with the name Trent instead of Alexander-Arnold on it, and the number 12 rather than the 66 he wore at Liverpool.

“A player who has won everything, one of the best defenders and full-backs in world football,” said Perez.

“One on the greatest players worldwide is joining this club and hopefully we can write a new page in the history books.”

In his news conference shortly afterwards in which he spoke English, Alexander-Arnold said he had been learning Spanish for “few months”.

He added: “I think he [Perez] was happy with the amount of Spanish I was able to speak, which I think surprised a lot of people.

Real’s opening Club World Cup group game is against Saudi side Al-Hilal on 18 June in Miami.

The England international has agreed a six-year deal with the La Liga side and his contract includes a 1bn euro (£840m) buy-out clause.

Alexander-Arnold made 354 appearances for Liverpool – who he was with from the age of six – scoring 23 goals and providing 86 assists for the club since making his debut in 2016.

His departure follows him helped the Reds win the 2024-25 Premier League title under Arne Slot and he also won the top-flight under former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in 2019-20.

His other trophies with Liverpool include the Champions League in 2018-19, the 2022 FA Cup and two League Cups.

Alexander-Arnold was booed by sections of the Liverpool crowd in his first game after announcing he would be leaving the club.

He came on as a substitute against Arsenal and Klopp later said he “turned off TV’ after hearing the jeering of his former player.

Alexander-Arnold was given a warmer reaction when he played against Crystal Palace in the final game of the campaign.

“I always knew, if I was to ever leave Liverpool, it would only be to go to Real Madrid, that would be the only club for me,” said the defender.

“I’m not going to say it was easy because I’d been there so long, been a part of it, but eventually, you have to make a decision.

“In my mind, I’ve made the right one and it’s one that I’m very excited about.”

Alexander-Arnold joins fellow England international Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid.

“We spoke,” said Alexander-Arnold of Bellingham. “It wasn’t exactly what people might think it was. We spoke a lot about Liverpool, we spoke a lot about Madrid – the kind of conversation you have as players and as friends.

“In the national team, he is the only player that knew what it was like to be at Real Madrid, so everyone was asking questions.

“A lot of people think he played a huge part in me coming here, but to be honest the club speaks for itself.

Alonso ‘was a big idol of mine’

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has replaced Carlo Ancelotti as Real manager and Alexander-Arnold spoke about how watched his new manager help the Reds win the Champions League in 2005.

Alonso scored when Liverpool dramatically came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with AC Milan before winning on penalties.

“I grew up as a Liverpool fan, seeing [what happened] in Istanbul with the manager now doing amazing things and playing his part in an incredible final,” said Alexander-Arnold.

“We have spoken a little bit. It is good to have that communication. I told him that he was a big idol of mine growing up so to be able to work with him now is a dream come true for me.”

A stylish midfielder, Alonso played 210 times for Liverpool from 2004 to 2009 and was renowned for his passing range.

Alexander-Arnold added: “He is someone who probably impacted my game a lot growing up, seeing him pass a ball. I explained this to him as well.

“Watching him pass a ball – seeing it influenced me to go and train harder at that and have a great hunger to be able to do that and to set standards.

What’s new at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Body cams, keeper timeouts, AI

The FIFA Club World Cup has undergone a revamp since it was last competed in December 2023 in Saudi Arabia.

The number of participating clubs has increased fourfold to 32, the frequency of the competition has gone from annual to quadrennial and the champion’s prize money – previously $5m – has gone up by a whopping $35m.

It’s not just the numbers that have changed in the tournament. FIFA is also looking to introduce new technology, including artificial intelligence to help the referees, and it is getting stricter on goalkeepers who waste time while holding the ball.

Here’s a look at the three big changes to be implemented at the monthlong tournament, which will get under way on Saturday in the United States:

What is the referee body cam, and how will it work at the Club World Cup?

Small cameras, protruding from the referees’ ears, will capture the live action unfolding in front of them.

The video will be fed to the ongoing match broadcast and will be aired to the viewers but only if the action is not controversial. So any penalty appeals, disputed calls and other potentially game-changing moments of controversy will be cut out.

However, fans will be offered unique views of goals, saves, crosses, player runs and tackles. The feature will only be available in the six NFL stadiums being used during the tournament – Atlanta, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Miami, East Rutherford, Philadelphia and Seattle.

“The objective is to offer the TV viewers a new experience,” Pierluigi Collina, the chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, said while announcing the move on Wednesday.

He said the technology will be trialled during the tournament and offer football’s rule-making body a chance to review it, along with footage of controversial moments, for long-term implementation.

Collina asked for patience from the fans during this phase and suggested taking things “step by step”.

“At the moment, this is a trial. We need to do something new and the simpler the better. So we fixed some rules within a protocol. Will we offer these images in the future? Maybe when we learn to run, maybe not, maybe we will do.”

How will FIFA use AI to check for offside during the Club World Cup?

While the assistance of technology in making offside decisions is not new, the Club World Cup will use it slightly differently by employing AI for an “enhanced semiautomatic offside”.

Video feed from 16 cameras will provide footage of the ongoing action to an AI-based programme, which will then alert match officials as soon as an offside player touches the ball.

Officials hope this new mechanism will help curtail the time in decision-making. The system will likely see the flag raised earlier for offside and reduce cases of play continuing after a clear offside, as opposed to a later video assistant referee (VAR) review.

In another first, footage of VAR-based offside reviews will be shown to the spectators inside the stadiums on big screens.

What’s the new timeout rule for goalkeepers?

It’s not entirely new, but time-wasting goalkeepers will also face the heat much earlier than usual as FIFA has asked referees to clamp down on glovemen who take too long on the ball.

The rules stipulate that keepers can’t hold onto the ball for longer than six seconds, but they have not been punished as frequently as the game’s governing body would have liked.

Now referees will issue a warning at five seconds – counted down by the officials on their hands – and the keeper must release the ball before a total of eight seconds are up.

Failing to do so will result in a corner kick for the opposition as opposed to an indirect free kick, which was previously given.

Brooklyn Beckham’s brothers band together with eye-opening posts after he ‘cuts ties’

Both Romeo and Cruz Beckham took to Instagram with cryptic messages shortly after brother Brooklyn shared his own update as the family reportedly remains embroiled in a bitter split

Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz Beckham

Brooklyn Beckham’s younger brothers have posted cryptic posts as they appeared to come together amid the intense speculation of a family feud. As the 26-year-old continues to shun his family, it’s reported he has now “cut ties” with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

Despite the rift, Posh and Becks’ other sons are seemingly putting on a united front. Both Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, took to Instagram to share philosophical messages. In a poetic upload, Romeo shared: “Life is short. Time is fast. No replays. So love and enjoy every moment as it comes.”

Younger brother Cruz appeared to be in a similar mood and shared a number of song choices. Taking to his own Stories on the platform, Cruz posted snaps of The Beach Boys tune Sloop John B, while also uploading the track Family Affair by Sly & The Family Stone.

Both groups have suffered deaths recently, with Sly Stallone’s passing earlier in the week following by news of Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson’s death on Wednesday.

Cruz had earlier posted an old image of his family, showing himself, Brooklyn, their siblings and mum Victoria Beckham in years gone by.

However, Brooklyn also took to social media with his own cryptic message before his brothers’ response. Taking to Instagram late Wednesday night, just hours on from Cruz’s initial cute throwback post, Brooklyn turned his back to the camera as he showed off his new linens.

With his exposed back showing off some of his many tattoos, as well as the results of a recent cupping session, Brooklyn held a pile of white towels in the air for the shot. He simply captioned the snap “@fretteofficial [love heart emoji]” – an Italian linen brand.

But his followers pleaded with him to make amends with his family in the comments section. “Take time to get yourself together and have a breather, please find your way back otherwise you will cause pain for yourself, your siblings and parents,” one urged. “If someone has hurt you, pls try to talk it through so that your [sic] on talking terms xxx.”

While the family are yet to respond to any fall out – which saw Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz Beckham ignore David’s 50th birthday celebrations – there have been several telling comments since. Instead of attending their family’s birthdays, Brooklyn and Nicola were spotted enjoying Coachella, attending various events, and even celebrating Nicola’s brother Will’s birthday.

Brooklyn also sent a damning message to his famous mum, dad and siblings last month, vowing that he will “always choose” his wife Nicola after claims that she has been the catalyst behind the mass fall out.

The video showed Brooklyn revving a motorbike alongside wife Nicola in Beverly Hills as he wrote: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”
