‘I tried Gordon Ramsay’s first European Hell’s Kitchen – here’s what it was really like’

After 20 years of the well-known franchise being based in the US, Gordon Ramsay’s first Hell’s Kitchen was opened in Europe to see if it lives up to the hype.

Gordon Ramsay has opened his first ever Hell’s Kitchen restaurant outside of the US, with a new restaurant in none other than Ibiza, Spain. Whether he’s shouting that beef is underdone or garnish isn’t ready, the TV chef has some iconic lines from his long-running Hell’s Kitchen series.

However, Gordon’s newest location’s restaurant experience wasn’t without luxury, despite the fact that chefs may be experiencing the heat inside. The food is prepared with traditional dishes like the Beef Wellington and scallops, as well as fresh-baked European favorites like the short rib and chorizo croquette.

A Basque-style blueberry and blackberry cheesecake was a surprising highlight of the meal for me, despite not being something I’ve seen on the show.

The newly renovated Unexpected Hotel, which was previously known as the Ushuaia Beach Hotel, serves up special edition Pharrell Williams Moet champagne and cocktails from the restaurant’s iconic HK walkway as you enter.

The Beach and Oyster and Caviar Bar are just a few of the new restaurants joining the Unexpected Hotel, along with Minami Japanese Restaurant, Rooftop Bar Up Ibiza Sky Society, and The Beach, where the breakfast buffet includes champagne and freshly prepared burritos.

In Las Vegas and Washington, D.C., where Gordon’s renowned show of the same name was shot, there are several Hell’s Kitchen locations in the US. The restaurants opened in 2005 as a training ground for aspiring chefs to learn from Gordon and eventually land him a job.

If you book a dinner at the new Ibiza location, Gordon might not be shouting at his chefs, but there will be plenty of unanticipated surprises happening throughout the five-star hotel, including fortune-telling DJs in the lobby, DJs in the bedrooms, and dancers scurrying down the poolside buildings.

While the hotel’s bedrooms have everything you could need, including a “maxi bar” with drinks and large bottles of spirits, a huge bathtub on the balcony, and a set of face-masks for your face, There are DJ decks in the living room and a sprawling patio-style balcony if you’re booking the presidential suite, which I assume Gordon will be booking out for his White Isle travels.

After my six-course Hell’s Kitchen meal, I headed over to Gordon’s newest location, where is the iconic open-air Ibiza superclub Ushuaia, where I danced off the excess food from Gordon’s most recent restaurant across the street.

The Unexpected Hotel will undoubtedly provide both, whether you’re looking for a lively stay in Ibiza or some of Gordon’s classics.

Princess Andre attracted an avalanche of compliments as she shared a special set of photographs in aid of her landmark birthday. The social media star – who is the eldest daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre – posed with a birthday cake and wearing a black party dress.

The teenager turned 18 on Sunday and was clearly in the mood to celebrate. She took to Instagram and shared a string of professional photographs showing her blowing out her birthday candles while surrounded by balloons. One shot showed off the pair of designer heels she was wearing – and she was posed in a way to hold up the cake with the underside of her shoes.

She included the photos along with the brief captions “Eighteen.” Many people responded to her images, wishing her many happy birthdays, and the photos and her special birthday sparked a slew of comments from her followers.

Peter, a 52-year-old proud father, was one of the people who responded to the images, saying, “Love you agape,” along with red heart emojis. The singer of Mysterious Girl had previously praised his daughter.

Happy 18th Birthday beautiful, Pete wrote in an emotional commentary after sharing a video of Princess’s early childhood photos. Princess Andre, I adore you so much.

Katie continued, “There are so many more adventures we can have now that you’re 18.” I will always and forever be in love with you baby girl.

Katie shared photos of Princess with a birthday message that incorrectly stated her birthdate on Friday, which was an embarrassing error. Happy 18th birthday to my most amazing daughter and my best friend @princess_andre, I love you so much, the confused star wrote at the time.

The mother quickly removed the post, which read, “2 days until Princess turns 18 can’t believe it xx.

Princess celebrated her birthday by sharing her story of growing up under the aegis of her famous parents. speaking with OK! She claimed in a magazine that she enjoyed living in a more stately manner than her wild-child parents.

St Helens thrash Salford in 11-try demolition

Betfred Super League

St Helens (20) 58

Tries: Feldt 3, Dagnall 2, Knowles, Clark, Sailor 2, Burns 2 Goals: Lomax 7

St Helens overpowered bottom side Salford Red Devils at the Totally Wicked Stadium to move within a point of the Super League top four.

The Red Devils showed plenty of defensive fight, but trailed 20-0 at the break to a Kyle Feldt double and scores from Owen Dagnall and Morgan Knowles.

Daryl Clark enjoyed a simple run-in and audacious football skills gave Dagnall his second before Tristan Sailor strolled over as the visitors faded.

The floodgates then opened as Jake Burns scored a quickfire double, Sailor grabbed his second and Feldt completed his hat-trick to cap an 11-try rout.

Paul Rowley said his Salford side were showing promising signs in their 10th successive Super League defeat by Hull last weekend, and the adjournment of their winding-up hearing in midweek was a further boost.

Their attempts at damage limitation were laudable, but ultimately fruitless against an ominous display from Saints who moved just behind fourth-placed Leigh with a fifth win from their past six games.

It was another comprehensive display from Saints in their third meeting with Salford this season.

Feldt scored one of St Helens’ 15 tries in the 82-0 dismantling of the Red Devils in February, and it took just nine minutes to get the ball rolling here as a defensive lapse in concentration allowed him to power through a gap.

While unable to lay a glove on the hosts, Salford showed resolve and commitment in defence, but lost Saints loanee Jonny Vaughan to a dislocated shoulder after 17 minutes.

And moments later, Deon Cross’ offload put Dagnall in for a diving finish in the left corner from a set which the 18-year-old had ignited with a burst inside his own half.

Nimble footwork from Tristan Sailor created an overlap on the right edge for Feldt to go in for his second.

And Salford’s defensive efforts looked to be taking their toll when Knowles went through a sizeable gap for a simple run-in shortly before the interval.

Within eight minutes of the restart, Knowles’ inside pass sent Clark away through the visitors’ soft centre for an easy finish before Dagnall sidefooted Jonny Lomax’s pass to the right corner and then sprinted to dot it down.

It began to look ominous when Harry Robertson’s burst and one-handed offload gave Sailor a clear run to the line for a seventh Saints try inside the hour.

Sailor sprinted under the posts but gifted the score to Jake Burns for his first try of the season, and the hooker had to wait just three minutes for his second as he burrowed over from close range.

‘Today I won’t accept excuses’ – reaction

St Helens head coach Paul Wellens told BBC Radio Merseyside:

“I think people were just expecting us to go out there and put points on, but that’s probably the strongest Salford team they’ve fielded in a good number of weeks. There was a lot of experience on the edges.

“Our players worked that out throughout the course of the game that if we actually stay a bit more patient and stick through the middle of the field we’re going to get more joy and that’s how it transpired.”

Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley told BBC Radio Manchester:

“It’s not often I’ve raised my voice at half-time because I’ve had a lot of empathy and sympathy and appreciation of the effort.

“I’ve a lot of respect for my team, but it’s important to recognise when we don’t apply ourselves as good as we want to.

“There’s not been many days when that’s happened so they can be forgiven. There are reasons and excuses and most weeks we’ve had a reason, but today I won’t accept excuses.

St Helens: Sailor; Feldt, Robertson, Cross, Dagnall; Lomax, Mbye; Walmsley, D Clark, Lees, Wingfield, Whitley, Knowles.

Interchanges: Paasi, Delaney, Stephens, Burns.

Salford: Brierley; Ryan, Hankinson, Marsters, Vaughan; Nikorima, Richardson; Ormondroyd, Rugless, Hill, Foster, Russell, Wilson.

Interchanges: Connell, Glover, Whitehead, Sangare.

Dumped Love Island star says DMs are flooded with celebs after leaving villa in brutal twist

Blu Chegini, who was dumped from the Love Island villa this month, says that some famous faces have slid into his DMs since leaving and accuses ITV of not showing his true personality.

Dumped Love Island star Blu Chegini has revealed that his DM’s are ‘popping’ since leaving the famous ITV2 villa, and there’s even a few famous names in there.

Talking with Mirror at the TRIC Awards in central London, 26-year-old Blu admitted, “It’s been a bit mad since I left the villa, the DMs have been busy though, they’re popping.” He added, “There’s been a few famous ones, but I better not say who.”

Despite being in the original line-up of islanders at the beginning of this series, Blu was dumped from the island earlier this month in a brutal recoupling which left him single. Before his departure, he was getting to know girls Alima and Shakira, who remain in the villa.

Since returning home, Blu’s Instagram has reached 22K followers – including the likes of former Love Island winners Jess Harding and Gabby Allen and Married At First Sight star Hannah Norburn. He has also signed to Neon Managment, the same PR company who manages stars such as Joey Essex and Lucinda Stratford.

While there may be plenty of single girls hoping to catch London-based Blu’s eye back in the UK, the reality star still has eyes for Mallorca.

Admitting the premature departure was disappointing, Blu said he’d like another crack at the famous villa: “Get me back in there, I’d definitely go back and show my personality more, I didn’t get to do that.

“I did show it in the villa but it wasn’t aired in the episodes, so I’d like people to get to know me and see what I’m really about. I want ITV to fly me out for Casa Amor.”

Describing his type as Poppy Harrison, who was only on the show for two days as she attempted to turn Remell’s head at the Sleepover villa, Blu says the bombshell is exactly who he was waiting to enter the villa for himself.

However, if the Construction Project Manager doesn’t make it back to Mallorca before the end of the series, he’s hoping for one of his fellow OG islanders to win the series. “I want Tommy to win, I’m not sure who he’ll be partnered with, but I’d like him to win.”

Blu also weighed in on the villa drama after Toni and Emily recently came to blows, admitting he thinks Emily is a ‘sweet girl’ and doesn’t know why there’s been a war of words between the pair.
