Ncuti Gatwa, a former Doctor Who actor, has returned to social media after taking the stage at her Glastonbury debut solo show at Worthy Farm to introduce Jade Thirlwall.

Former Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa returned to social media following his Glastonbury appearance. The actor took to the stage on Saturday to introduce Jade Thirlwall for her debut solo performance at Worthy Farm.

And following his role, he took to Instagram to share his delight. He wrote on the platform: “Glastonbury for the girls and the gays. Had the honour of introducing @jadethirlwall for her EPIC set.”

He continued, “Jade, your talent and power is insane.” You’ve already become a megastar. But that . You went completely cosmic after that. It’s a pop girly emergency.

It comes after his surprise appearance to introduce the former Little Mix member to the crowd at the Woodsies stage. At the time, the 32-year-old offered up a speech that included explicit tributes to the trans community.

He continued, “I hope you bi****s are f***ing ready!” They’s and they’s, ladies and gentlemen. All of our gorgeous trans sisters. The performance is about to start. Jade was then referred to as “pop’s new crown princess.”

Additionally, he added, “Flash photography and video are encouraged. Enjoy the performance.

Jade’s show received a lot of fanfare as well. Jade boldly expressed her disapproval of Reform UK in her performance on the opulent set.

She wasn’t shy to let her emotions manifest as she sang arousing rendition of FUFN. A segment in which JADE compiles a list of things she wants to give the middle finger includes the song, which is an acronym for “F*** you for now.”

And she chanted, “Reform! During your set!” Transphobia ! shedding arms! “Genocide” ! They echoed back a resounding “F**** you” as they addressed her to the crowd.

She sang Angel of My Dreams while also being emotional there. She thanked her fans for letting me know that this song, Angel of My Dreams, is actually me as a song, even as she tried to cry back.

The song explores JADE’s 15-year career’s peaks and troughs. The lyrics read, “Sitting my soul to a SYCO, they say I’m so lucky,” and the lyrics are from that song.

For their first five albums, JADE was formally a part of Little Mix under the name SYCO, Simon Cowell’s record label. She took a moment to pay tribute to her former Little Mix bandmates by wearing a large fur hat, green jeans, and a white T-shirt with the word “GLASTO.”

She said, “I can’t begin to express how thankful I am to those girls for literally changing my life.” Who would have imagined, eh? that there would be a Little Mix girlie performing at Glastonbury.

The performance was an overall hit and fans were quick to praise her efforts on social media. One user on Twitter/X gushed: “She killed it! I love that the crowd knew her songs and that she mentioned Little Mix too.”

Another added, “That #Glastonbury set from JADE is the kind that makes you go, yep, Pyramid stage soon.” And a third said, “JADE screaming “FU to justifying genocide” to a sold-out audience at Glastonbury is unquestionably one of the many reasons she is my absolute favorite.”

Lily Allen delights fans at Glastonbury with surprise performance with Shy FX

As a member of the public, Lily Allen switched from enjoying Glastonbury to taking the mic to perform on the stage in honor of Shy FX.

At the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, Lily Allen has expressed her joy at being able to perform in front of crowds. The 40-year-old singer performed at the weekend festival as a surprise guest.

As Lily embraced the fun and festivities of the annual event, Lily had been sharing photos and videos of Worthy Farm. And as she took up a microphone to sing on stage on Saturday night, she changed from a partygoer to a performer.

She joined Shy FX as a DJ and singer, and she sang along to their 2018 song, Roll the C. Lily danced and sang on stage while wearing a pair of sprakly hot pants and a simple vest top.

The viewing crowd gleefully sang along and footage circulated on social media – which Lily herself re-posted. She uploaded a collection of highlights from her weekend on Instagram.

She wrote, “Much fun was had. For the lift, thank you @glastofest and @mercedesbenzuk. Lily was on stage at the festival alongside famous people like The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo because of her sudden appearance.

Sir Rod Stewart previously expressed his excitement about playing the festival, and he was one of the stars who performed at the festival this year. On Sunday, he will play the titleless teatime Legend’s Slot, which he isn’t overly excited about.

He told the BBC: “I just wish they wouldn’t call it the tea time slot. That sounds like pipe and slippers, doesn’t it?” However, he went on to tease fans what to expect when he takes to the stage.

There are still many songs we won’t be able to play, he said, “typically I do well over two hours.” But we’ve been putting in some effort.

I won’t announce anything between songs, I promise. I’ll enter one number with the shout “next,” and then proceed to the next one. I’ll try to get as many songs as possible.

The singer claimed that he typically plays for more than two hours while on tour and that Glastonbury organizers initially only gave him 75 minutes of his time, but he was able to extend this to 90 minutes.

However, his performance was interrupted by technical problems, forcing him to leave the stage at a certain point to fix them. Rod said to the crowd, “The girls are going to do a song for you while I change my shirt,” shortly after being entertained with his rendition of Do You Think I’m Sexy.

The 2025 festival has been marred by controversy, however, as a relatively unknown band called Bob Vylan led crowds in a chant of “Death to the IDF”. The sickening chant has led to the festival being compared to a Nazi rally as eager crowds egged on the suggestion of killing the only Jewish army in the world.

Irish band Kneecap, who have been criticized for supporting the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah, and for urging fans to kill MPs, added to the controversy. Political leaders criticize the festival because it allowed dangerous rhetoric to air while the BBC censored the Kneecap performance, but Bob Vylan’s set streamed live on the BBC.

Addressing the backlash, a BBC spokesperson said: “Some of the comments made during Bob Vylan’s set were deeply offensive. During this live stream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage, a warning was issued on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language. We have no plans to make the performance available on demand.”

Lt. Col. Danjuma said, “This operation is part of our ongoing pressure on criminal elements, aimed at denying them the right to carry out their own actions in the Niger Delta region.”

The troops worked together with other security organizations to achieve these objectives, he added, and we are still working to end oil theft and environmental degradation as a result of illegal refining.

Champions Lightning beat Thunder to reach Grand Final

Netball in England

After securing a spot in the Netball Super League Grand Final against London Pulse, the Loughborough Lightning have the opportunity to win an unprecedented three-peat.

After being defeated by Pulse, the regular season’s top team, last week, Lightning, the reigning champions, were given a preliminary final ban.

The result was a repeat of the Grand Final from the previous year when the hosts Lightning won 69-57 on Sunday.

After the first quarter, Lightning led 19-12, but Thunder added 10 unanswered goals in the process.

At the other end, Samantha Wallace-Joseph did the damage while Jodie Gibson came on at goal defense after going 27-20 down to help Lightning.

The Trinidad and Tobago-based shooter gave the Lightning a 37-30 half-time lead with five two-point super shots in the second quarter.

At 44-33 down, South Africa’s Elmere van der Berg was first to receive an offender of the season, and Thunder called a tactical timeout.

We demonstrated that the three-peat is necessary.

Alice Harvey, Lightning’s player of the match: “It means a lot. Although the loss from last week was painful, we were proud of it. Although it wasn’t always simple, we displayed grit.

Never underestimate the power of a lightning strike. We unwaveringly want to perform the three-peat, and I believe that was demonstrated by our performance.

We needed a really strong second quarter, and it came out 25-11 [in that quarter], which is just incredible. We were extremely energetic, and we knew it was necessary to maintain that consistency.

“The intensity of surviving this game [will give us a huge boost] for the Grand Final.”

Karen Greig, the Thunder’s head coach, said, “I don’t believe we were good enough for a long time. A team can now go back in after a really strong first quarter, which gives them the confidence to continue and prosper.

Lighting and the eighth Grand Final

What is the relationship between Lightning and Pulse?

The majority of the regular season saw the tussles between Lightning and Pulse, and they were fascinating.

Pulse won round two by beating the reigning champions 77-51 in Loughborough, but that victory was redeemed at the Copper Box by Lightning, who won by 58-53 in the match.

In last week’s play-off semi-final nailbiter, table-thumping Pulse won 50-49, and now they’re doing it again.

The Grand Final lineup is unchanged from the year before, when Lightning came out of the woods to win. Loughborough’s big-stage experience is heavily influenced by this.
