Glenn Maxwell, an all-around Australian player, has departed from his one-day internationals to concentrate on the T20 World Cup in the coming year.

Since making his debut in 2012, the 36-year-old has won 149 ODIs, including a T20 Word Cup in 2021, and two World Cups in 2015 and 2023.

His 201-run ODI innings against Afghanistan at the 2023 World Cup, which is undoubtedly his best ODI innings ever, was his best performance since then.

Maxwell won the match with Australia on 91-7, and despite experiencing severe cramp, he hit an unbeaten 201 from 128 balls to win the match and advance to the semi-finals.

Before Australia defeated India in the final, Maxwell also scored the fastest century in World Cup history in 2023 off 40 balls against the Netherlands.

His most recent international match was at the Champions Trophy in March, when Maxwell “felt like I was letting the team down a little” due to his fitness.

He then discussed the 2027 World Cup with Australia’s chair of men’s selectors, George Bailey, and said, “I don’t think I am going to make that. It’s time to start planning for people in my position to have a crack at it and make the position their own.”

Maxwell, who is known as “The Big Show,” ends his ODI career with 3, 990 runs, an average of 33.81, four hundred and 23 half-centuries.

He has a 126.70 ODI strike rate that is second best in all time, and he has taken 77 wickets off of him.

Todd Greenberg, the head of cricket Australia, expressed his congratulations to Glenn on what has been one of the format’s most exciting and influential one-day international careers.

Glenn’s ballistic batting has “lit up the cricket world” and contributed to Australia’s continued success in the 50-over match, including his heroic contribution to the 2023 World Cup victory.

Crowds have flocked to the grounds to watch Glenn bat, just like other great players of the game, and kids have been inspired to pick up a bat after seeing him use breathtaking array of shots to put the opposition to the sword.

Maxwell played for the Punjab Kings in April, but a hand injury prevented him from playing for the rest of the IPL.

He has represented 116 T20 nations and is hoping to compete in the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka between February 8 and March.

His talent and skill are outstanding, George Bailey added. His longevity, underappreciated ball-handling skills, and energy on the field are all outstanding.

2027: I Will Consult With God Before Taking Decision, Says Otti

Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, says he will consult with God before making a 2027 run-off decision.

Otti made his statement at a&nbsp, a ceremony hosted by the Isiala Ngwa People’s North and South local government areas in the state’s Isiala Ngwa.

The governor thanked the electorate for their support, but he also stated in a statement that God would have control over 2027, according to his spokesman, Njoku Ukoha.

According to the governor, “2027 will also be in the hands of God, just like 2023 was in the hands of God.”

“I thank you for making predictions, but I also thank you for this endorsement because I view it as an endorsement of what has been accomplished so far.”

“I would only say that I would consult with my God,” I said. And I’ll make my response public as time goes on. Because I know my people are waiting, as I stated earlier.

Otti argued that the potential for Aba to stimulate the state’s economic growth is the driving force behind his administration’s deliberate investment in Aba, the state’s commercial nerve center.

Because we are aware that Aba can help us develop other parts of the state, we are concentrating on Aba.

Because Aba is our main commercial hub, we have a clear place in our strategy. According to Governor Otti, “not just for Abia, but also for the South-East and South-South.”

The governor stated that his administration is operating simultaneously across the state and reiterated its commitment to inclusive governance.

He made it known that the Mgboko–Ntigha road project would finish by December.

He made clear that all affected landowners had been fully compensated and that the location of Abia Airport in Nsulu was solely based on technical merit rather than political considerations.

He added that the Abia Airport project is a lofty endeavor that aims to be a full-fledged development hub with a view to bringing long-term economic benefit to the population.

We are creating an airport city by referring to the statement “We are not just building an airport.” There will be a three- or four-star hotel there, and there will also be a base there for the Nigeria Air Force. Within the facility will be shopping centers and markets.

Liam and Noel Gallagher performing together TODAY

Today marks the first full day of Oasis rehearsals, with Liam Gallagher rejoining the rest of the band at a covert location and revealing his “loving life” status. Frontman Liam, who had a brother Noel Gallagher playing music with, was up at 6am tweeting to fans on X and telling them rehearsals were taking place.

After having already begun band rehearsals without Liam last month, a second source confirmed that the band was meeting again today.

It will be the first time since 2009 that Liam and Noel have performed together and played music together, and they will be performing on a massive UK tour for the first time.

Liam stated to his fans that he was feeling “biblical,” but that he would not pose for photos outside the rehearsal rooms. He declared, “I’ll be in and out if you won’t see me. I’m not a poser.”

He added, “I’m fine, loving life, how about you,” to another fan.

In May, the band’s first images of rehearsals in London were released. Noel Gallagher, Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Gem Archer, and Andy Bell, who will play guitar in the massive sold-out shows, were shown. Andy on bass and Andy on guitar.

Christian Madden, a keyboardist, and Joey Waronker, a drummer, both join the band on drums. He has previously performed on tour with Liam, but never with Oasis.

On July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Noel and Liam will perform together for the first time in public since their band split nearly 20 years ago. As part of the tour, dates will be held in Dublin, London, and Manchester.

Noel, 57, left the Manchester rock band on August 28, 2009, saying he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.” The brothers had previously made disparaging remarks about one another.

That all changed when the tour was announced in August of last year. The pair exchanged several photos to confirm the band’s long-awaited reunion on Tuesday, saying, “The great wait is over.

In April, Oasis’ album, Live Forever, won the title of greatest British song ever in a new poll ahead of the band’s eagerly awaited reunion tour this summer.

Noel and Liam Gallagher’s Manchester band placed 16 incredible tracks in Radio X’s top 100 results. The top 10 also included “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” “Slide Away,” and “Champaign Supernova.”

The 10th annual Best of British broadcast on Radio X featured B&amp and Q poll.

Ace of Base now as iconic 90s band suffer Eurovision failure and knifeman terror

The Swedish Europop group Ace of Base was once one of the biggest names in music, but their story is full of triumphs, failures, and regrets.

Ace of Base, the creators of some of the most iconic Europop tunes of the 90s, have had a rollercoaster journey. Their story is filled with everything from humble beginnings in Sweden to gangland threats and even an unsuccessful Eurovision attempt…

Ulf Ekberg completes the quartet, joining Jonas, Linn, and Jenny Berggren, who were the original members of the Scandinavian electro-pop band in 1987 in Gothenberg.

They began performing in various clubs in the Swedish city before finding it difficult to gain popularity because the Swedes’ preferred genre was heavy metal, which was very different from their techno sound. However, their subsequent release, All that She Wants, earned platinum certification and topped the UK charts for three straight weeks in 1993 after their single Wheel of Fortune debuted on the charts.

In the early 1990s, their success continued with hits like The Sign, which became club favorites everywhere. However, they vanished into obscurity just as quickly as they rose to stardom.

The band was last seen performing in a series of concerts between 2007 and 2009 as a trio without Linn. Since then, the original members of the band have all embarked on very different journeys:, reports the Daily Record.

Jenny Berggren

Jenny also started writing as the only former band member to leave for a solo career after leaving in the late 1990s. Vinna hela världen, her autobiography, was released in 2009. However, a slated English translation, titled To Win the World, was never made available.

Her solo musical journey began with Here I Am in 2010, which peaked at number 14 in the Swedish charts, followed by Gotta Go, which was the year she released her debut album, My Story.

Jenny made another attempt to win the spotlight in 2010 with Let Your Heart B Mine, but she was unable to win the nomination.

In the same year, Jenny and Ulf starred in the 2024 documentary Ace of Base: All That She Wants.

She recalled a terrifying incident from the early 1990s when a fan threatened her life by sticking a knife in her throat.

She continued, “I believe that was when the star was born in me,” recalling the agonizing incident with People. I desired to sing. I had to make calculations because of all the dangers, but I finally realized, “No, I want to sing.” I want this, exactly.

Ulf Ekberg

Ulf Ekberg, the band’s founder, has since switched melodies to tech ventures in the homeland. Ekberg expressed his excitement over the tech boom in an interview with ABC: “Sweden has a lot of tech companies, especially Stockholm.

“I’m interested in creating a sector in technology and music. I’m building companies, and it’s been a fantastic last five years. It feels like everything is exploding here. We are in a lot of different sectors, but we try to keep it to the creative sectors as much as possible; movies, TV, music and entertainment, which are obviously very close to my heart.”

The documentary last year also saw Ulf candidly discuss his past affiliations with a far-right extremist group during his teens in Sweden, expressing profound remorse for his actions. Speaking to People, he continued: “I think it’s a very important topic to talk about because it is a very angry world we live in right now. It’s much more angry than when I was a teenager.

“I hope that this documentary can demonstrate that even when you’re completely lost, you can always find your way and it’s never too late, which is why I had the honor of having had my life given me.”

Linn Berggren and Jonas

Post-band life has seen Linn Berggren and Jonas shying away from the limelight, especially Linn who has kept her distance from the glare of fame. Jonas briefly emerged to attend an event highlighted at the end of the documentary, while Linn decided to contribute through a letter read by Jenny in the concluding episode.

Glenn Maxwell retires from ODI cricket but T20 World Cup in his sights

Glenn Maxwell, an explosive Australian batsman, has announced that he will no longer play one-day cricket but will play in the Twenty20 with an eye on the World Cup in the coming year.

The 36-year-old, who recorded 3, 990 runs and 149 One Day Internationals (ODIs), said he was beginning to feel the effects of the 50-over contest.

Maxwell, who was known for his all-action entertaining style of play, said on Monday, “I felt like I was letting the team down a little bit with how my body was reacting to the conditions.”

I spoke with [chair of selectors] George Bailey and asked him what his thoughts were going forward.

When we discussed the 2027]50-over] World Cup, I told him, “I don’t think I’m going to make that happen; it’s time to start planning for people in my position to try it out and make it their own.”

“I didn’t want to just hold on for a few series and almost play for selfish reasons,” I said.

His final game was Australia’s Champions Trophy semifinal defeat to India in early March, which was followed by veteran fellow 50-over player Steve Smith.

Maxwell, who has crunched four hundred and 23 half-centuries, has the second-highest strike rate in ODI cricket at 126.70.

West Indian heavy hitter Andre Russell leads the way in scoring with his rate of scoring. Maxwell has also taken 77 wickets off of the bat.

Maxwell scored 201 against Afghanistan inarguably the best ODI World Cup game performance since [Francis Mascarenhas/Reuters] on November 7, 2023, to help Australia win the match in Mumbai, India.

An age-old ODI career

Perhaps his most memorable appearance was against Afghanistan in Mumbai at the 2023 World Cup, when he was batting with Australia reeling at 91-7 and chasing 293 to win.

Maxwell slamming 201 from only 128 balls to win his team in a high-pressure environment with a severe cramp and searing heat.

In a never-ending 202 partnership with Pat Cummins, who had just 12 runs to go with him at number nine, he scored 179 of those runs.

In the final at Ahmedabad, Australia defeated favorites India to claim the title.

Maxwell also played for Australia, which won the 2015 ODI World Cup.

Glenn will be regarded as one of the most dynamic players in the one-day competition, having played key roles in two ODI World Cup victories, Bailey said.

His talent and skill are astounding, he says. His longevity, underappreciated ball-handling skills, and energy on the field are all outstanding.

His enthusiasm and commitment to playing for Australia are what else stands out.

“Fortunately, he still has a lot of T20 potential.” He will be crucial in the coming year as we prepare for the World Cup early next year if everything goes well.
