Sting shares update after support act suffers cardiac arrest on stage in Liverpool

As he opened his headline performance at On The Waterfront and addressed a medical emergency involving a member of the local band The Christians, Sting’s long-awaited return to Liverpool took on a somber tone.

The Grammy-winning artist closed the four-day festival at Pier Head on Sunday night by updating fans about the dramatic incident that had temporarily put a stop to the event just before it began. A band member collapsed midway through the show, prompting immediate concern and halting the performance.

Eyewitnesses described how Garry Christian, the band’s frontman, called for medical attention right away. Moments later, a privacy screen was constructed to shield the scene from the sizable crowd who stood silently throughout the unfolding.

A spokesperson for the band, reportedly Emma Bridget, delivered a somber update to the audience shortly afterward. She confirmed that the performer was still alive despite having a cardiac arrest. She told the audience, “We’re really hoping he will make it.” He “has a pulse,” we believe, despite not having one at the time. I appreciate you so much.

The Christians reportedly offered their full support to Sting and encouraged him to continue with his headline show despite the shock.

When Sting finally made an appearance on stage, Sting made sure to explain what had happened by opening his set with a few spare, moving words about the drummer’s condition: “The drummer in the band before is OK. He is receiving medical attention. We are praying for his recovery. He is in our thoughts.

The legendary artist’s performance marked his first performance in Liverpool since 1979, which was a rare emotional moment.

The former Police frontman apologized, citing both the city’s rich musical legacy and its connection to his own roots. What kept me, I don’t know. This historic music city is where I’m happy to live. For obvious reasons, this city is the world’s most storied music city.

Before diving into his set, Sting, who was originally from Wallsend, North Tyneside, also remarked on how Liverpool makes him feel at home.

Benue Gov Suspends Aide Arrested For Alleged Sextortion

Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, has suspended Mkor Aondona, his Special Adviser on Documentation, Research, and Planning, after she was detained by EFCC, SEC, and sextorted for allegedly extorting, cyberbullying, and blackmail.

The governor claimed that Tersoo Kula, his spokesman, had declared the suspension to be unconstitutional on Sunday.

The governor argued that the governor’s decision was one of upholding public service integrity, discipline, and accountability.

He claimed that any member of his administration who found themselves ineligible in matters of criminality or ethical misconduct would face legal sanction.

The Governor makes it clear that his administration will not tolerate any act that discredits or undermines public trust while assuring the public that the law will continue in its entirety without interference or bias.

The petitioners had asserted that Aondona frequently sought out slim and attractive women for tuxedo jobs in the ushering industry and that they had pressed for sexual favors as a selection precondition.

Aondona is also alleged to have been involved in blackmail, sending explicit videos of the girls that were allegedly hacked into without their knowledge or consent via various messaging services. Some of the videos are said to be available.

Kevin Durant, a two-time NBA champion, will leave the Phoenix Suns for the Houston Rockets in a major move.

The 36-year-old forward will sign with the Rockets in a one-year contract with eight other players starting in July.

According to reports in US media, guard Jalen Green and small forward Dillon Brooks will move to Phoenix in exchange for the 10th overall pick in the NBA Draft and five additional second-round picks.

Being a member of the Houston Rockets, I’m looking forward to it, Durant said to reporter Kay Adams at a media event in New York on Sunday.

I’ve been watching it for a while, and I’m glad it’s over.

Durant won four Olympic medals with the United States and was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2014.

With Durant averaging 26.6 points, 6 rebounds, 4.2% assists, and 1.2 blocked shots per game, the Suns only managed to finish 11th overall.

The Rockets placed second in the Western Conference, but the first round knocked them out of the play-offs.

Ime Udoka, who signed a long-term contract with Houston last week, will lead them in the coaching position. Prior to joining the US Olympic squad and the Brooklyn Nets, Durant and Udoka had a working relationship.

Sting is scheduled to play the concert’s final night. As part of his STING 3.0 World Tour, the Grammy-winning artist is making his long-awaited return to the city.

The Christians, a Liverpool-born band, sold the most albums on Island Records and received international chart success in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The band’s name was derived from the first three brothers in the lineup, which is fitting given that Henry Priestman’s middle name also appears in the band’s name.

Garry Christian (lead vocals), Roger Christian (vocals and instrumentalist), Russell Christian (keyboards, saxophone, vocals), and Henry Priestman (keyboards, guitars, vocals) founded The Christians in 1985. By accident, Princesman and I, despite not being a relative, shared the Christian name. Paul Barlow and Mike Bulger also played bass, Tony Jones, and Mike Bulger, who also played drums in the early days.

In 1987, Roger Christian left the band and instead concentrated on releasing a solo album. In 1998, he battled a brain tumor, and later passed away.
