Joe Ralls, the Bluebirds’ skipper, will leave the club, ending 15 years in the Bluebirds’ ownership.

Ralls, the longest-serving player for the Bluebirds, had been in talks with the club’s manager about a potential extension of his stay.

The 31-year-old midfielder will move on after having discussions with new manager Brian Barry-Murphy when his contract expires at the end of this month.

Andy Rinomhota’s three-year contract expires at the end of June, and he or he will also leave.

The 28-year-old joined Cardiff in the summer of 2022 and spent three seasons playing for the Bluebirds.

In the campaign of 2024/25, Rinomhota won Players’ Player of the Season.

After being demoted to League One, Barry-Murphy was given the go-ahead to become the club’s new head coach last week, so a decision on their futures was put on hold.

Ralls thanked Barry-Murphy for “being completely honest with me,” thanks to owner Vincent Tan and the Cardiff board on social media.

Ralls, who left Farnborough for the Cardiff academy in 2010, made 409 appearances there.

He played a significant role under Neil Warnock when Cardiff returned to the top flight in 2018 and was a key player during the club’s first promotion to the Premier League in 2013.

He is one of the top ten appearances of the Bluebirds and was appointed club captain in 2022.

Vincent Tan, the owner of Cardiff, paid tribute to his impact at the south Wales club by saying: “Players like Joe Ralls don’t really get to play very often in the modern game. Throughout his 15 years at our institution, Joe has shown incredible love and loyalty.

Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin Roberts ‘failed on every level’ with £500K pub makeover

With his two-year deadline approaching and half a million dollars spent on a derelict pub, Martin Roberts has admitted he has greatly underestimated the time and cost of his most recent project.

With a £500,000 pub transformation, Homes Under The Hammer star “failed on every level.”

Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts admits he has “failed on every level”, after he underestimated how challenging it would be to renovate a derelict South Wales pub. The former I’m A Celebrity contestant, 61, bought the Hendrewen Hotel in Rhondda in 2023, and invested half a million to revamp the rundown boozer.

Renovation expert Martin wanted to support the nearby community, which he claimed had “lost their heart,” close to his own farmhouse. However, he has now admitted that he had made a total error about the required amount of time and money.

Martin has already exceeded his deadline and the makeover is not yet complete, despite his initial estimate of £500,000 and the completion date. He acknowledges that working with his tradespeople has been “challenging” and that he has only been inspired to get through because of his team of 15- to 17-year-olds.

With a location in one of the most underserved areas of the country, Martin hoped it would help them acquire useful skills when they finished their education. The reality TV star planned to employ 30 locals when his project is finished, as well as give the kids a “step up the ladder” to help them get jobs when they finish.

Martin's team are only 60% done, despite two years and $500k.
Martin’s team are only 60% done, despite two years and $500k.

Speaking to the Sun, Martin explained how he felt like he’d failed. He told the paper: “For a man who spends all his time telling people to make sure they stick to their budgets and timescales, I have failed on every single level.

It’s my first commercial property I’ve ever worked for, but I’m still smiling despite how difficult it has been, I’ll be honest. We are 60% in the residential housing market, compared to the residential ones, but commercial ones have much more difficulties.

Martin wanted to create an eight-bedroom hotel with a television-themed theme for each of the rooms. He intends to make accommodations in Fawlty Towers, A Question of Sport, and Homes Under The Hammer themed, in a resurgence of the show he has produced for more than 20 years.

The TV star previously told WalesOnline: “I often act a bit on gut instinct, and possibly don’t always tell my wife because sometimes I think there’s a danger I will be talked out of things because they appear daft on the surface, I only sort of mention it when it’s too late!”

He continued, “I’ve never run a hotel, I’ve never run a restaurant, or I’ve never run a pub.” What could possibly go wrong, then, hey? “

After having emergency surgery and experiencing a terrifying health scare as a result of his chest pains, Martin had the idea for his new business. He initially assumed COVID, but when he was in the hospital, doctors discovered pericardial effusion, a fluid buildup around his heart.

Doctors warned him that he could only have hours to live if he didn’t go in for the op. He told Metro: “It was a bit of an eye-opener to be honest, being three hours from death, that’s always going to ruin your day.

“I was told to take things easy and slow down,” so I decided to purchase a pub that I wanted to run despite having no experience operating a pub, restaurant, or hotel. You are suddenly reminded of how fragile we are in many ways.

Dumbarton field entire squad of trialists

SNS

Because every member of Dumbarton’s squad was a trialist, their pre-season friendly games against Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion caused a stir on social media.

Stevie Farrell was forced to bring in different players for a mini-tournament in Stenhousemuir after a difficult few months off the pitch for the Sons and players who were taking vacations.

Before kick-off in their first game, Dumbarton announced on X that “the team news is in.”

“All changes for the clash with the Binos as Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, and Trialist come in place of Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, and Trialist,” Dumbarton said before their later game against Stirling Albion on Saturday.

The bench consists of “trialist, trialist, trialist, and trialist.”

By dissolving its holding company and creating a new company that is entirely owned by Canadian businessman Mario Lapointe, a deal was reached earlier this month for Dumbarton to leave its administration.

The club is still awaiting approval from the Scottish FA and SPFL, who both requested that they register new signings and play in League 2, given that they were previously relegated following a 15-point deduction.

Due to the number of contracted senior players taking vacations, manager Farrell stated that he would also be hiring trialists and younger players in the run-up to the game.

One X user responded to the club while football fans made jokes about the team news, saying “Amazing day for the Trialist family.”
