In the violence-plagued Guanajuato state, local officials confirmed that 11 people were killed and at least 20 others were hurt in a gun attack that occurred during a religious celebration in central Mexico.
Authorities said on Wednesday during celebrations honoring John the Baptist’s Nativity that the shooting erupted on Tuesday night in the city of Irapuato. Witnesses described harrowing scenes of chaos and panic as partygoers fled the gunfire.
“There was chaos,” he said. Due to safety concerns, one witness told the news agency AFP that people “put the wounded into their cars and rushed to hospitals trying to save them”.
The moment when people danced and celebrated is captured in video that was shared online. The crowd swayed in fear as they scurried across the street.
On Wednesday morning, the scene’s bullet holes and blood still appeared. According to the Guanajuato state prosecutor’s office, a 17-year-old, eight men, and two women were among the dead.
The local government of Irapuato called the attack a “cowardly act” and said security forces are looking for those responsible in a statement. Family members who have been affected by this offer psychological assistance.

The attack was “deplorable,” according to President Claudia Sheinbaum, who opened an investigation. Sheinbaum described the shooting as a “confrontation” at her daily press conference, without going into further detail.
Libia Dennise, the governor of Guanajuato, expressed condolences to the victims’ families and vowed justice after the attack.
Guanajuato is renowned for its industrialization and colonial-era tourist destinations, but it has largely become known as Mexico’s most violent state in recent years.
Authorities attribute a large portion of the bloodshed to a protracted turf war between the powerful Jalisco New Generation cartel and Santa Rosa de Lima gang.
Guanajuato had the highest number of murders in the nation last year, according to government statistics, with more than 3, 000 of those cases occurring annually.

An iconic pop star has revealed the panic faced after her teeth fell out mid-performance. Taking to social media, LeAnn Rimes, told fans she was going to tell them “a little story” as she revealed her fears became a reality on stage.
The hitmaker, 42, famously dislocated her jaw during a concert in 2014. And she told her Instagram followers how a dental bridge ‘popped out’ during her show at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington.
She referred to the incident as “the most epic example of how the show must go on” and that it caused her to become alarmed. The Can’t Fight The Moonlight singer stated in her video that “we’re going to do some story time about how the show must continue.” And this is the most incredible illustration of the show’s necessity.

I got some bands made that have something really personal, attached to them inside that only we know about. And, I just did the whole thing. We were in LA. I rented out a hotel room in Palm Springs or something.
“A really nice fancy one, filled it up with balloons and cake, which is my favorite thing in the world. And heart shaped balloons and a heart shaped cake… So I’m holding the cake. And the balloons are all around us. And he’s walking in. He walks into the room and he’s like, what the hell, is it Valentine’s Day?’ I’m like, ‘no.’ Anyway, I got down on one knee. I don’t want to be boring. I like to keep things as a surprise. I always get so excited for doing things out of the norm.”

With Chelsea Winstanley, Taika and her two daughters, Te Hinekahu and Matewa Kiritapu, are married.
Rita claims to enjoy her more mature stepmother role. She continued, “I’m like the fairy godmother who sends them all the sugar and ice cream before returning.”
“And their mother, who I love dearly, is sort of like, ‘They’re bouncing off the wall.’ And I’m like, ‘Sorry!’ But you know, I think that’s the fun part of being a stepmum, you can do those naughty things and I take them out and I take them to an Ed Sheeran concert. I mean, I didn’t get a book. There was no one teaching me on how to be a stepmum.”
Rita, 34, has come a long way from the young singer who first appeared on the scene with songs like Hot Right Now ten years ago. She continued to appear on TV programs like The Voice and The Masked Singer as a panelist after that.
Despite some recent backlash, she continues to support being sexy in photo shoots and doesn’t believe women or singers should be afraid to do this.
She continued, “I do think we should be proud of those things.” And now that Sabrina Carpenter is in the spotlight for her sexuality and skin, I see it as a woman. And I’m not getting it. It’s also so boring because Madonna did it, which is so boring. Like men, if you still have a problem with it at this point, it’s incredibly boring.
Rita told Davina that her husband might be able to advise her on what she wants to do next.

Lewis Capaldi’s eagerly awaited comeback single, which is his first new music since January of last year, is rumored to stun fans tomorrow. He’s also scheduled to make a surprise appearance on Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage, which couldn’t be more perfect.
Lewis took a while to recover, according to a source close to the singer, and is now ready to tell his fans what he has been up to.
He says, “It will be a very special day tomorrow.” His Pyramid Stage performance will be the subject of a brand-new single that he will be releasing. He is in great shape and feels ready to regain his spotlight, according to the Sun.
The star broke away from Capaldi’s most recent performance on the Pyramid Stage in 2023, which ended prematurely with the performer in tears. He later acknowledged that it made him realize that he needed to “spend a lot more time getting my mental and physical health in order.”

Insiders told the Mirror that Lewis is among a handful of surprise performers at this year’s festival. He’s reportedly taking the Pyramid Stage at 4:55 pm on Friday. Other secret gigs include Lorde at Woodsies (11:30 am Friday), Olivia Dean and Rachel Chinouriri at Strummerville (8 pm Friday), and CMAT at BBC Introducing (1:30 pm Friday).
At 7:30 p.m., American band Haim plays at The Park, and Pulp performs on the Pyramid Stage at 6:15 p.m.
On TikTok, users have also posted “Heard it here first people,” similar times but setting CMAT at 8:30 pm on Friday, a slot that is still marked as TBA on the official lineup, and these whispered schedules have also surfaced.
Authorities in the northwest of Colombia have reported that at least 11 people have died and 15 have gone missing as a result of a landslide.
Authorities have issued evacuation orders and rescue orders for the area around Medellin, Colombia’s second-largest city, for the day after the landslide, with government officials advising that persistent rains are a serious threat to the area.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Medellin Mayor Federico Gutierrez stated that “we continue to support emergency and rescue work in Bello, where 11 people have been sadly reported killed, at least 15 have been missing, and more than 1,500 people are in shelters.”
As residents slept through local waterways on Tuesday in the early morning hours.
In Bello, a crowded community in the hills above Medellin, a mud wave swept through the area, leaving behind piles of debris and burying about a dozen homes.
Rescuers have searched for the missing using dogs, drones, and other means. In nearby community centers and schools have been constructed schooteries.

Makeshift homes built into hillsides, which can become unstable during periods of sustained rainfall, are particularly at risk from heavy rains. Many of the people who have fled Colombia’s rural areas for the relative safety of a city live in these risk zones, often the country’s poorer residents.
On Tuesday, the Medellin town hall issued evacuation orders for Villatina, which is located just outside the city of Medellin, stating that 23 buildings would be destroyed because of the potential collapse. According to the town hall, the order was based on earlier landslides in late May, and recent heavy rain has made the risk worse.
