Bridgetown, day one of the fifth test.

Australia 180 (Head 59, Khawaja 47, Seales 5-60, S Joseph 4-46)

West Indies 57-4 (King 23*, Starc 2-35)

West Indies 123 runs ahead of Australia

On a shaky opening day of the first Test in Bridgetown, Australia were defeated by West Indies by a score of just 180 runs. However, they reacted with the ball as 14 wickets fell.

After winning the toss, Australia were dismissed in less than 57 overs with the wickets of Seamers Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph.

Only two other batters, including captain Pat Cummins (28) and Beau Webster (11), managed to score in double figures, with Travis Head leading the pack with 59 and opener Usman Khawaja hitting 47.

When Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Cummins, their experienced pace trio, 57-4, combined to give the tourists a 57-4 lead at halftime, they were able to reclaim the match.

Sam Konstas and Josh Inglis, who were recalled in their place, scored only three and five respectably as the tourists fell to 22-3.

Khawaja and Head combined for 89 runs for the fourth wicket before he became Joseph’s third or for the day.

In their famous victory in Brisbane 18 months ago, Joseph, the hero of the West Indies, delivered a stunning bowling ball to Webster, who finished with figures of 4-46.

Head’s resistance came to an end when he was caught behind off Justin Greaves’ bowling, before Seales finished with a 5-60 victory.

When Starc removed openers Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell in successive overs, the West Indies made a poor start to their response, seeking their first home Test victory over Australia for 22 years.

Man City must suffer in Orlando heat, warns Guardiola

Manager Pep Guardiola advises Manchester City to be prepared for the arduous heat of Orlando during Thursday’s crucial Club World Cup contest against Juventus.

At 17:00 local time (22:00 BST), the temperature at Camping World Stadium was 31C during the news conference on Wednesday, which is expected to rise to 33C for the game, which kicks off at 15:00 BST in the United States (20:00 BST).

At the enclosed Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where the air conditioning was turned on, City defeated UAE side Al Ain 6-6.

Guardiola remarked, “The heat is obvious, we can’t change it.” The Atlanta stadium, which is fantastic, is where it’s better to play.

Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea manager, stated on Monday that a “code red” severe heat warning in Philadelphia has made it difficult to conduct regular training sessions.

In eastern North America, 160m people have been hospitalized with heat-related illnesses and are being warned about the weather in an area that includes 160m of the country as a result of a heat wave.

Other managers raised heat-related issues at the Club World Cup, and Fossil Free Football, a campaign organization, has warned that players could be exposed to heat while competing in such conditions.

Fifa, the governing body, stated that keeping track of all the clubs taking part in football is “its top priority” for its medical experts.

Games now offer additional cooling periods.

With two victories each, City and Juventus have already advanced to the last-16 stage of the competition, but the Serie A side is in the lead thanks to one more goal scored.

In the event that one of the teams will next face La Liga giants Real Madrid, their Group G final positions will be crucial before the knockout stages.

Guardiola says he will make the changes in the second match against Al Ain after the opening game win over Wydad AC.

Rico Lewis is suspended, and City will be without midfielder Claudio Echeverri, who is expected to miss two to three weeks due to an ankle injury.

The Spaniard remarked, “We will play new faces in the second half as well as in the next game.” That is considered in the selection.

“We will make substitutions at half-time because we are not ready to play 90 minutes.”

Large stadiums filled with empty seats during the Fifa tournament’s group stages have received criticism.

This game is being played at a 60-meter venue that has little seating available for spectators in the stands.

“Two big clubs, and hopefully there will be people,” Guardiola said. “Last 16 quarter-finals, semi-final, and final, we’ll probably have enough seats,” said one fan.

” But 70, 000, 80, 000 – it is not easy to hold the crowd. Hopefully, people will show up and we can play a good game.

Comedian scammed out of thousands for ‘once in a lifetime’ Glastonbury tickets

A comedian who was planning to attend the Glastonbury Festival this week has revealed she was duped out of thousands of pounds by the company that never delivered her tickets.

Comedian Joanne McNally has revealed she has been scammed out of thousands of pounds after thinking she had bought Glastonbury tickets. The Irish stand-up star revealed she initially thought she had bought tickets for the once in a lifetime event, but sadly they never arrived.

Taking to Instagram to share her fury, the 42-year-old said the man she booked them with worked for a private concierge firm. However, while she was getting excited to take in the iconic weekend event, she revealed he had gone silent and blocked her number.

Joanne stated to her followers in her video: “Glastonbury update. The ticket seller promised it would be there by six. If not, call me by 6”.

There is no sign of the ticket, she continued. We are blocking him while we’re ringing him. He has vanished. The funds have vanished. No ticket is required. We had been robbed. And it was obviously not inexpensive because Glastonbury is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

As she showed the outfit, Joanne admitted she had been packing for a weekend of fun and had been showing it off. “Here’s the outfit I was going to wear for [Morissette] on Friday night,” she continued. What an idiot, huh?

We’re not going to Glastonbury, she joked then. Please let me know if you need an acid house hat, 60 packs of wet wipes, or a barrel of poppers because I won’t be using them.

“It’s so weird because some people did get their tickets off him. A load of us didn’t get our tickets from him, apparently its like 50 of us. So he took a couple of grand off 50 people and he’s now in Spain or something..”

Glastonbury got underway on Wednesday, with performances set to include sets by the likes of US rapper Doechii, UK singer Raye and veteran rocker Sir Rod Stewart, who will be playing during the coveted legends slot. Also performing is Irish rap trio Kneecap and US star Gracie Abrams.

Fans of the festival who managed to purchase tickets were even relieved to learn that the weather has turned around and that there will be some sunshine in the upcoming days. Festivalgoers were advised to bring their wellies to Worthy Farm in Somerset at the time of the event, which had been anticipated.

However, they have now been instructed to use the sun cream instead. Over 3, 000 performances spread over more than 100 stages over the course of the five-day event make up the event’s largest in the UK.

More than 900 acres of security surround Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, which is allegedly more expensive than what the Royal Family is offered, have been increased, and security has only increased.

There will be a number of secret gigs, as is the case with each festival. Additionally, a source in the music industry has informed The Mirror that Lewis Capaldi might be one of the many famous people performing covertly at the event this year.

The source revealed to The Mirror that Lorde will visit Woodsies at 11 o’clock in the morning while Lewis will be at 4.55 p.m. on Friday for a secret set.

Four Palestinians killed in occupied West Bank by settlers, Israeli troops

In the occupied West Bank, where soldiers have been conducting deadly raids for months and settlers have been brutally abusing civilians unchecked, with the support of the military, four Palestinians have been killed, including a teenager.

In an Israeli-occupied town called Kafr Malek, northeast of Ramallah, three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli-occupied area, including the teenager, who was shot by Israeli forces. In the settler attack, seven people suffered injuries.

According to local sources, Israeli settlers reportedly attacked the town, torching homes and cars as nearby villages’ residents fought back. Israeli soldiers shot live rounds and provided protection for the settlers.

At least five Palestinians who were shot, with some of them in critical condition, were treated by the Palestine Red Crescent Society, according to the organization.

According to Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh, the settlers were “under the protection of the Israeli army.”

In a message on X, he continued, “We call on the international community to immediately intervene to protect our Palestinian people.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that during a raid on al-Yamoun, a town west of Jenin, Israeli troops shot dead a 15-year-old Palestinian boy.

Rayan Tamer Houshieh, a teenager, was shot in the neck, according to the ministry, and he died from his injuries.

The Palestinian Red Crescent declared that its teams had handled “a very serious case” involving a teenager before declaring him dead.

In the occupied area, a teenager has been reported dead twice in the past two days as a result of the al-Yamoun incident.

Ammar Hamayel, 13, was killed by Israeli fire in Kafr Malek, according to the Health Ministry on Monday.

More than 3 million Palestinians reside in the occupied West Bank under harsh Israeli military rule, with the Palestinian Authority ruling only in a few areas that are separated from one another by a myriad of Israeli checkpoints.

Israel has so far established more than 500, 000 settlers in the West Bank, including Palestinians who reside illegally on private property in the West Bank and who occupy East Jerusalem.

Israeli security forces conduct daily raids.

Palestinian suffering in the occupied West Bank has been severe, with hundreds of deaths, thousands of displaced people, house demolitions, and significant destruction since October 7, 2023, despite Israel’s more recent genocidal conflict in Gaza receiving more attention.

The “wave of renewed violence” by Israeli settlers and armed forces in the West Bank earlier this year has sparked the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Palestine’s concern.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk urged Israel to immediately and completely stop all settlement activities, evacuate all settlers, stop the forced displacement of the Palestinian population, and stop and punish attacks by its security forces and settlers.

Separately, according to several local media reports, an 66-year-old woman was shot in the head and killed by Israeli forces earlier on Wednesday in a raid on the Shu’fat refugee camp north of occupied East Jerusalem.

Zahriya Joudeh al-Obaid was given as the woman’s name by the Jerusalem governorate.

When Israeli forces stormed the area, her husband, a 67-year-old resident of the camp, claimed his wife was standing on the roof of their home. He confirmed that she was unarmed and that she had not threatened anyone.

Shu’fat has seen numerous Israeli raids that, in addition to other refugee camps in Israeli-occupied areas, have frequently resulted in arrests, injuries, and deaths.

According to UN statistics, large-scale military incursions into Jenin and its refugee camp, as well as Tulkarem and the Nur Shams refugee camp, have led to the displacement and destruction of at least 40, 000 people in the northern West Bank.

Lauren Goodger ‘back with ex Charles Drury’ as they enjoy double date with TOWIE cast

After the pair were caught having a double date with her Towie co-stars Junaid Ahmed and Joe Blackman, reality TV star Lauren Goodger has all but confirmed their relationship.

Lauren Goodger appears to have confirmed a reunion with Charles Drury after months of speculation, as the pair enjoyed a double date with her Towie co-stars. The 38-year-old reality star and Charles, 26, share their three-year-old daughter Larose and separated in 2022 following the heartbreaking loss of their baby daughter, Lorena.

Rumours about their reconciliation have been swirling for a while, but Lauren’s recent repost of Junaid Ahmed’s Instagram story -captioned “Double dating @joeblackman_98 @laurengoodger @c.drury1” – strongly suggests they’re back together.

The evening was spent at the Indian restaurant Cinnamon in Epping, where Lauren and Charles haven’t been in public in a while. After Lauren’s first live video on the platform for more than a year, a joint TikTok live session with Junaid and Joe caused a stir when they reconnected.

Lauren told MailOnline about their co-parenting experience last year, “We’re at a point where it’s going smoothly.” Charles frequently visits Larose. Because he lives three and a half hours away and I meet him there, it is a lot of traveling. Although it’s not ideal, it’s still what it is.

When their daughter Lorena passed away while she was still a baby in 2022, the couple had a devastating tragedy. Before complications cut Lorena’s life apart, Lauren had been thrilled to welcome their second child just months after Larose, describing her as the “most beautiful healthy baby she’d ever seen.”

Lauren told the Mirror that, regrettably, it is a pain that never leaves, but that you gradually come to accept as you go through it as you go along.

The pain never leaves you, according to Lauren, whose daughter Lorena was born with the umbilical cord knotted around her neck and passed shortly after labor despite a ‘traditional’ pregnancy. “Nothing can make it better, and I don’t think anything can change the loss,” she says.

“Lorena was a beautiful baby, and it never should have happened,” said one parent. She ought to be right away, Lauren claims. The TOWIE star says it’s important to remember not to blame yourself, something she found herself doing after losing Lorena, even though she acknowledges that you never stop grieving.

You consider the following: “Should you have preferred to have my birth at home? ” Should I have done the following or the following? There was nothing that could have been done because my homebirth the year before was completely satisfactory. When someone loses someone, we often reflect on our actions. You just keep going over it as a parent.

You ask, “Why me, you ask? ” What went wrong with me? However, you eventually heal, which is the good news. You never move past it, but you do eventually come to accept it.

Lauren acknowledges that losing a child can “break” a relationship because it can also “break” parents as singulars. Although it can break families, I sincerely hope they persevere and make it through because they will need one another.

One piece of advice I would give to anyone is, “Stay together and you’ll get through it together,” said Lauren.

The star already shares Larose, who turns four next month, with Charles, but Lorena wasn’t Lauren’s first child. Being a mother helped her through the grief of losing a child, Lauren said, and she acknowledged that she put all of her energy into Larose.

I’ll Not Fail You, Tinubu Tells Nasarawa Residents

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu promised that his administration would continue to support the state’s government and the people of Nasarawa State in development projects, particularly those involving solid minerals and agriculture.

When Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, the Emir of Lafia, was present at his palace, Tinubu made the pledge.

The President claimed that the federal government and investors had come to trust Governor Abdullahi Sule’s resource management.

“I’m happy to be back in Nasarawa, and I’m happy to confirm what the Emir said I’ll be doing as president of Nigeria in 2023.” I appreciate it. You are a very far-sighted individual, a sincere Nigerian with a strong sense of justice, he declared in a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The state’s stability, stability, and progress were commended by President Tinubu and Sule and the Council of Traditional Rulers.

He vowed to put forth greater efforts to fulfill all of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s promises.

He continued, “I’ve just made the best decision to make sure there is a change for the future.”

The Renewed Hope Agenda, according to President Tinubu, would reposition the country’s economy for the betterment of both current and upcoming generations.

“Governor Sule has shown it,” he said. He told us he didn’t borrow a penny to finish the interchange when we just commissioned it, he said.

The governors’ consistency in pursuing the Renewed Hope Agenda’s vision, which aims to restore lives and the nation, was praised by President Tinubu.

“It’s truly heartbreaking for me to see the governors here. I appreciate your gracious and exemplary behavior. He continued, “Thank you for maintaining your loyalty.”

President Tinubu was praised for his leadership style, particularly for changing the Nigerian economy, by the Emir of Lafia, who is also the head of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs.

Your Excellency, our president, our friend, and everything in between. You are invited back to this space. When you arrived a few years ago, it all started here.
