England to train in tents to replicate World Cup heat

England’s training will include heated tents in order to simulate the conditions that they might encounter at the upcoming World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Thomas Tuchel and his team are training in Spain’s Girona.

On Saturday, England will face Andorra in a World Cup qualifier before hosting Senegal in a friendly at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on June 10.

The World Cup’s potential scorching temperatures and high humidity will be examined by the England head coach and the Football Association performance staff during the training camp.

In the conditions that players can expect during the tournament, they will use exercise bikes to conduct fitness tests inside the tents, and their recovery will be evaluated.

Tuchel stated last week that he expects his players to “suffer” in the conditions of the tournament and that he will assess the conditions before hosting the Club World Cup this summer in the United States.

“It’s important to watch matches now in America and at three in the afternoon in Miami,” Tuchel said.

“I’ll check that,” he says. How it appears, and how to properly cool the players before drinking. What choices are available to us.

Because it will be the end of the season, “Let’s see,” it will be very similar. Although the players have an experience, I haven’t seen much of it during the pre-season in Orlando, so I’m surprised if we don’t suffer. This World Cup’s headlines include suffering.

The temperatures at 14 of the 16 stadiums used for the 2026 World Cup have been deemed to be above “potentially dangerous levels” during the competition. More than 80% of the June and July days in the host city of Dallas exceed 28C on average each year.

West Brom confirm Tottenham’s Mason as head coach

Ryan Mason has been named West Brom’s head coach.

Tony Mowbray was fired on April 21 and the Championship side spoke with Mason, 33, last week, who has signed a three-year deal with the Hawthorns.

Mason, who advanced through the club’s academy and played for his boyhood team, will now have to complete his seven-year coaching career at Tottenham.

I’m excited about what we can accomplish together because this is a sizable club with a fantastic infrastructure and a fantastic fan base.

I’ve talked to the board and the club for a while, but I’m now convinced Albion is the ideal place for me to start.

The former Spurs midfielder’s contract was scheduled to expire at the end of June.

West Brom finished last season just outside the play-off spots, so Mason will now attempt to reclaim the title for the first time since 2020-21.

Sam Pooley joins Rangers as the club’s first-team coach and head of performance, while Nigel Gibbs, who joins from Reading, has been appointed Mason’s assistant.

After being fired as first-team manager following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal in 2021, Mason made a significant contribution to Tottenham’s coaching staff before taking over as assistant manager.

Since Antonio Conte’s departure in 2023, he had been a senior member of Tottenham’s senior set-up and has since assumed the role of acting head coach.

I Financed Abia, Never Benefited ‘Anything’ As Governor – Orji Uzor Kalu

Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia State, claims he spent his money while in charge of the Southeastern state rather than profit. &nbsp,

Kalu, the senator for Abia North, added that, like when he was governor, he is using his personal funds to run for office. &nbsp,

Kalu claimed that politics has been “dangerous” to him because many of his businesses were sealed by the Federal Government while he was governor, in a statement released on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.

“I spent my own money as a governor, just like I did today as a senator.” Kalu, who served as Abia governor from 1999 to 2007, claimed on the program that he once used to finance the state.

“Being governor, I never gained anything; rather, I lost a lot of money.” Many of my businesses were taken by the Federal Government. Therefore, politics have been very dangerous for me.

I invested a lot of money, I said.

The former Abia governor claimed to be the primary financier of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its formation and that he had already made millions of dollars when he was 24. He also asserted that in 1998, he donated more than $1 million to Obasanjo’s campaign. &nbsp,

Ask any PDP member, because I contributed the majority of the funds used in 1998 and 1999. I strategically placed my money. Dollar was then a significant sum. According to Kalu, I gave President Obasanjo more than $1 million to his campaign and over $500,000 to the party.

Kalu denied having any disagreements with the former president when asked if he still harbors grievances with Obasanjo, who allegedly racked up some of his businesses even after receiving funding for his election as president. &nbsp,

He is the family’s best friend, and I don’t have any disagreements with him (Obasanjo). Both my late father and my mother have high regard for him. He continued, “I don’t argue with anyone, so he is still a family.”

Kalu praised President Bola Tinubu’s reform initiatives, but noted that the majority of Nigerians were yet to experience the effects.
