Great Britain’s Olivia Mathias finished third as Cassandre Beaugrand claimed victory in the World Triathlon Championship Series in Alghero.

Beaugrand crashed out on the bike leg of the previous race in Yokohama but the Frenchwoman bounced back to win the third race of the series in Italy.

The reigning Olympic and world champion was chasing Wales ‘ Mathias and Bianca Seregni of Italy on the second lap of the swim before bridging the gap on the bike.

The leaders then distanced themselves from the likes of Lisa Tertsch and GB’s Beth Potter in the chase pack and built an unassailable lead on the 10km run.

Beaugrand, 28, clinched victory in 1 hour 55 minutes 55 seconds – 38 seconds before Seregni in second, with Mathias 31 seconds further back in third.

It was a first series win of the year for the 2024 champion while both Seregni and Mathias, 26, earned a spot on the series podium for the first time, with Potter in eighth.

Brazil’s Miguel Hidalgo won the men’s race in 1: 44: 05, crossing 28 seconds ahead of Australia’s Matt Hauser, who was the winner in Yokohama.

Dani Dyer’s massive ‘thank you’ from dad Danny in wedding to Jarrod Bowen

EXCLUSIVE: Dani Dyer has married her footballer boyfriend Jarrod Bowen in a stunning ceremony attended by family and friends, with the reality star looking every inch the beautiful bride

Dani has officially married Jarrod Bowen

Danny Dyer is said to have pulled out ‘all of the stops’ for his daughter Dani’s lavish wedding to West Ham player Jarrod Bowen in a ‘thank you’ as the actor is said to owe some of his career to his eldest.

The former Love Island star looked every inch the beautiful bride on Saturday as she tied the knot to Jarrod in a stunning ceremony, surrounded by family and friends. The big day came four years after Dani and Jarrod’s relationship began, with the pair meeting while the former was navigating life as a single mum to Santiago, her son with her ex, Sammy Kimmence.

Beginning as neighbours, friendship blossomed into love for the couple and in May 2023, they had their own twin daughters, Summer and Star. And now that the duo are husband and wife, a source tells Mirror how Dani is hoping to have a long-lasting marriage like her own parents; Danny and Joanne Mas.

“Family is everything to Dani and Danny is the same way. He pulled out all of the stops to make sure it’s a wedding no one would forget for his little girl – the best day of her life. He adores her and actually says he’s got her to thank for some things because Dani winning Love Island boosted his career too.

“Dani feels she has found her soulmate in Jarrod and it’s a relief after she’s had so many ups and downs. Everyone else loves him too. Jarrod and Danny get on so well, which was important to Dani, so it was always going to be a wonderful celebration for the family.”

Danny and Joanne were childhood sweethearts, but they only got married in 2016. They have been together for more than three decades – and their relationship has survived a few bumps in the road. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Dani, the couple ended up taking a short break from each other before reuniting and having two more children, Sunnie and Arty.

In an episode of ITV series The Assembly, which was broadcast in April, Danny, 47, spoke about their relationship, which has survived multiple cheating allegations throughout his career.

Describing how he felt about his wife after their wedding, Danny said, “To be standing here with the girl I grew up with – looking so beautiful in her wedding dress – that is a lovely thing. Jo is my best girl, the love of my life. Without her, I would be nothing.”

Dani previously admitted she was sceptical about getting serious with Jarrod and couldn’t believe he wanted to “take on” both Dani and her young son, who is now four. Opening up about their early days, Dani revealed it was in fact her dad who warned her she was going to “lose him” if she didn’t stop trying to “put him off”. It was her parents’ advice that gave her the motivation to make things work with the footballer.

Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Dani said, “I don’t know why I kept doing that to him. In the end, I was getting to a point where my mum and dad were like, ‘Listen, Dani, you’re going to end up losing him. Stop it! He wants to take you and Santi on. He’s more than happy to do that. So just appreciate that and be happy that he wants to.’”

Indeed, Dani’s dad has shown constant support for the couple since they got together. Chatting on The Jonathan Ross Show in February, he admitted he was “on the verge of tears” when Jarrod called him to “ask for her hand in marriage”.

Gushing over the footballer, who is West Ham’s captain, Danny described him as a “very humble, brilliant, beautiful man who worships the ground she walks on”.

Ronald Fenty dead: Rihanna’s heartache as dad dies after ‘brief illness’

Pop star Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty has died aged 70. The father of the global icon died early this morning in Los Angeles following a brief illness, according to reports.

Family members have reportedly gathered in California to pay their respects and honor Ronald’s memory. The heartbreaking news comes as Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, is currently expecting her third child with partner A $AP Rocky.

Ronald’s official cause of death has yet to be made public, as his death was announced by Starcom Network News, a prominent radio station based in Rihanna’s homeland of Barbados.

Photos have shown Rihanna’s brother, Rajad Fenty, arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier this week in an emotional moment for the family.

Ronald had divorced wife Monica Braithwaite, the chart-topping singer’s mum, amid a struggle with drink and drug issues when Rihanna was just a teenager.

He was even the subject of a lawsuit delivered by his daughter who accused him of misusing her name to benefit his own entertainment company – she later dropped it in 2021.

Rihanna previously paid for her father to attend a $58, 000 Malibu rehab following a difficult period in their relationship that saw her send him home from her tour due to his alcohol abuse.

Speaking after the birth of Rihanna’s first child, Ronald spoke fondly of being a granddad, admitting: “She’s loving it. She’s a very overprotective mother”.

“Everybody says]the baby] looks like me”, he told Page Six at the time. “But you know, babies change, faces change. He]resembles] a lot of Rihanna and Rocky together”.

He had previously noted ‘ not knowing ‘ if Rihanna and A $AP, birth name Rakim Mayers, would ever tie the knot, saying: “I don’t know about marriage, I really don’t know”.

Rihanna announced her third pregnancy earlier this month as she attended the 2025 Met Gala. She sparked rumours that another baby was on the way over recent weeks, thanks multiple baggy outfits concealing her stomach.

But in a video shared on social media, Rihanna seemingly used her fitted two-piece Miu Miu look to make a big announcement at the 2025 gala.

The Work hitmaker confirmed her second pregnancy in a similar low-key manner in 2023 when she revealed her growing bump during her Super Bowl performance. In the process, she became the first person to headline the halftime show while pregnant.

Her dad reportedly had “no idea” his daughter was expecting a second baby and is thought to have ‘ found out while watching the Super Bowl’.

While the world was finding out about Rihanna’s big news, Ronald was reportedly none the wiser, putting two and two together after seeing his daughter perform.

“Oh my God! My baby girl looks pregnant”, he recalled telling his partner while watching the show alongside his partner, reported TMZ at the time.

Forest keep alive NSL play-off hopes with derby win

Nottingham Forest kept alive their Netball Super League play-off hopes with a 66-62 win against defending champions Loughborough Lightning.

Forest, who are competing in their first Netball Super League (NSL) season, are now three points behind fourth-placed London Mavericks, who play Birmingham Panthers on Sunday.

There is only one play-off place left up for grabs with two regular season rounds to go as Manchester Thunder, London Pulse and Loughborough have already qualified.

Thunder secured their play-off spot on Friday with a 59-54 win over Cardiff Dragons.

Forest led after every quarter in an impressive display at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, home to both teams. Particularly strong performances came from player of the match Natasha Pavelin and Rolene Streutker, who scored 41 goals.

The victory halted Loughborough’s winning steak – they had not lost since round four, also against Forest.

“Really happy, we knew coming into the game we could do a job”, Pavelin told Sky Sports. “We all really believed. We put out four quarters there which we can be really proud of”.

Elsewhere, Thunder’s Elmere van der Berg top-scored with 37 goals at Belle Vue Arena in her team’s win over Cardiff.

Victory for Thunder moved them up to second in the standings on 28 points, but they trail leaders Pulse on goal difference.

Goal shooter Georgia Rowe scored 26 for Dragons, who remain bottom after losing all but one of their 12 matches so far.
