On Saturday, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese swept past the anti-Trump wave to win a resounding victory and a historic second term. Voters “the way the Australian way,” he claimed. Peter Dutton, the leader of the Liberal Party, conceded defeat.
Jamie Vardy, who scored the 199th goal for the Foxes, tells Match of the Day host Gary Lineker what his time at the club has meant to him.
Vardy has three games left this season to reach the 200-goal milestone, which will come to an end when his 13-year contract with Leicester comes to an end in the summer.

Leicester City legend, champion of the Premier League, winner of the FA Cup, and now, for the time being, play the role of the referee.
Jamie Vardy intervened when ref David Webb fell to the floor after Jordan Ayew hit him with a shoulder-barge in Leicester’s 2-0 victory over Southampton at King Power Stadium.
By blowing the stricken official’s whistle as Webb held his face to the ground, he had the chance to halt a Saints attack.
Vardy smiled while telling BBC Match of the Day that he had seen Southampton breaking down the left and that the ref was down.
Webb was able to leave the pitch unaided despite being unable to continue and being replaced by fourth official Sam Barrott.
Vardy, 38, was clearly in good spirits after scoring Leicester’s opening goal in the 17th minute with a sharp finish.
His 199th goal for Leicester, the organization he’s leaving from his previous club at the end of the summer, will be his last.
The striker will reach the 200-goal mark in his 500th appearance for the club and establish himself as one of Leicester’s greatest players with three more games to go this season.
When Vardy inquired about what Leicester meant to him, Vardy responded, “It’s been everything.
For 13 years, it has been the life of my family and mine. The fans and the entire city have taken us in, and it has meant the world to me personally.

Leicester will play Vardy’s final few games, according to legend.
Vardy’s goal brought his 200-goal streak to an end, as well as his own nine-game home-goal drought.
Jamie had to be the only player who could break this cycle, according to Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
” Goal number 199. Very crucial for him and the entire team to lead.
Vardy, an ex-england international, said he couldn’t predict what his future holds. He announced last week that he would leave the club.
Vardy, who has played for Leicester 498 times, said, “I am enjoying my football and I need a nice break to mentally and physically recharge.” We’ll see where that goes after that, Vardy said.
There are still a few more games, with the hope that some more numbers will be added.
Vardy’s final season at Leicester has been disappointing, with only five victories in 35 games. On April 20, their relegation to the Championship was announced.
Conor Coady, a Leicester defender, predicted that Vardy would dominate the final three games of the season. He said he was pleased to call him a “team-mate.”
I won’t beat around the bush, Cowdy said, “The next few games are about him.”

Fans at home weren’t very impressed with what happened, and Simon Cowell’s comments made it clear that Britain’s Got Talent was making its second semi-final tonight.
BGT: Simon responds to the audience chanting the golden buzzer.
This weekend’s live semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent prompted frustration from viewers shortly into the episode. Some fans at home shared that they weren’t impressed by a moment that happened following a performance.
The ITV show returned tonight for the second live semi-final of the latest series. One of the first acts to perform in the episode was singer John Pierce, 41, who took to the stage for a rendition of the song Wild Horses. The teacher was met with praise from the judging panel over the performance.
Simon Cowell, 65, who had been given the power of the golden buzzer for the episode, said that whilst it “started off slow,” the performance ended up going into “overdrive”. He said in his feedback that John has a “great voice”.
Whilst the judge was sharing his thoughts, the audience at the Eventim Apollo in London were heard chanting. Some of the crowd called for Simon to press his golden buzzer, with them seemingly shouting together: “Press the gold!”
Simon refused to fulfill his request and once informed the theater’s audience that he could hear them. In the middle of giving his feedback, he said, “I can hear you.
The audience’s chanting didn’t appeal to many home viewers, who were disappointed. Forget hitting the golden buzzer, a user wrote on X. Someone “hit mute on the audience”! Another remarked, “Shut the f*** up audience.”

A third wrote: “Wish the audience would calm down dear lord.” Someone said: “Please take that golden buzzer away. I am sick of hearing the audience chanting about it.” One fan wrote: “Audience screaming does my head in! Calm down.”
Another person expressed regret for the loudness of the audience mike. I’m tired of adjusting the volume. One viewer shared their thoughts while asking, “Oh for the love of god, someone please shut up the audience.” The audience are obviously influencing the Golden Buzzer once more, according to another person. Simon, you must have fallen for it.
The episode comes after dance act the Blackouts and singer Vinnie Mckee were voted through to the final following last weekend’s first semi-final. It came after the show faced technical difficulties and one contestant didn’t perform.

Magician Teddy Magic, eight, had been due to perform in the first semi-final last weekend. Host Ant McPartlin, 49, said when it was the act’s slot in the episode: “Teddy isn’t quite ready backstage. He hasn’t got his magic up and ready yet.”
After the hosts spoke to the judging panel, Dec Donnelly, 49, announced: “We’re gonna have a little change of plan now and we’re gonna go to something else.” He then shared: “We’ll come back to Teddy later on, hopefully.”
Later in the episode, it was revealed that Teddy – whose audition earlier in the series had impressed the judges – would not take to the stage that night. Dec explained to the panel and audiences: “Unfortunately, [Teddy] won’t be performing tonight but we hope to see him later on in the series.”
According to a report earlier this week, RadioTimes claimed it was aware that the show’s creators had to postpone the performance due to a “last-minute issue.” Teddy is anticipated to make it to the final two semi-finals.
The line-up for tonight’s semi-final, released just a few days ago, was taken as confirmation that Teddy would not return in the second semi-final though. He wasn’t named in the line-up for it, which ITV shared on Wednesday.
Alexandra Burgio, Jannick Holste, and impressionist Will Burns would take the place of these two semi-finalists, it was announced. Cheer Re Mans, a cheerleading group, was also included in the lineup.
Olly Pearson and Lil M’s, guitarist, and other performers, were confirmed at the time for this weekend’s BGT episode. Additionally, it was revealed that Stacey Leadbeatter and John Pierce would also be performing in the episode.

Aryna Sabalenka won the Madrid Open for the third time in a thrilling 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Coco Gauff.
Sabalenka, the world’s number one, won the opening set, but Gauff forced a tie-break in the second, which wasted a championship point.
Although Gauff came back from 3-0 to make it 3-3, Sabalenka, 26, recovered, and a double fault gave them the victory.
Both women made it to the semi-finals confidently, with Gauff coming off of Iga Swiatek’s stunning semi-final victory and Sabalenka as the best overall.
Sabalenka started well, winning 17 games in a row, but Gauff’s brave recovery gave her a 5-3 lead in the second set.
After making it 5-5, the American, who is now 21 years old, saved six break points to thwart Sabalenka’s comeback.
She finished second behind Swiatek in 2024 and won her previous matches in Madrid in 2021 and 2023. She leads Petra Kvitova, a Czech player, with 11 wins and 18 losses.
“Coconuts, congratulations. I’m so happy to see you back playing the tennis you love,” Sabalenka said.
“I love playing against you because you are such a fighter.”
We have gone through a lot together, so thank you to my team.
I believe it will be your fourth straight finals, Gauff told Sabalenka. “Congrats on your success,” Gauff said.
