Prince Harry’s breakdown with King Charles as he accepts ‘family will never forgive him’

There is “no point fighting anymore,” according to Prince Harry, who spoke in a shocking interview about his separation from his father, King Charles, and the Royal Family.

Prince Harry’s broken relationship with King Charles has reached a new low, as the Duke of Sussex claims his father “refuses to speak” to him.

After deciding to step down as a working royal in 2020, the Duke of Sussex started a new life in California with his wife, Meghan, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – and his bond with his father reportedly grew strained over the years as they spent time apart.

In a new interview with the BBC, the Duke of Sussex has opened up about his estrangement, revealing that he’d like a “reconciliation” with fellow members of the Royal Family. The emotional talk, which came after Prince Harry lost a Court of Appeal challenge over his security arrangements while in the UK, touched on how the legal challenge had affected his relationship with the King.

The Duke of Sussex had filed an appeal against the Home Office’s decision to reject his High Court claim that he should be protected from the UK by receiving a different level of protection from the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec). However, Harry’s appeal was dismissed in a decision that was rendered this afternoon by Sir Geoffrey Vos, Lord Justice Bean, and Lord Justice Edis.

Speaking to the BBC following the decision, the Duke said: “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.” He added that he didn’t know how long his father had left to live.

He continued, “I would love reconciliation with my family, but some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book, of course they will never forgive me for many things,” adding: “Of course, they will never forgive me for writing a book. There is no purpose to fight any more.

Since Harry and wife Meghan sensationally quit royal life more than five years ago, the pair have called California their home, and Harry has only returned to the UK on a number of occasions – including for the funeral of the late Prince Philip in April 2021. In his best-selling memoir Spare, Harry opened up on the occasion and recalled how after paying his last respects to his grandfather, he, his father and brother Prince William came together to discuss things.

Harry claimed he felt “cut off” and that William and Harry had a heated argument after opening up about his feelings for the pair. The Duke remarked to King Charles, “Please, boys, don’t make my final years a misery,” when he intervened between him and his brother.

While Harry now lives in Montecito, after news of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis broke last year, the Duke jumped on a plane and dashed to his dad’s side, with many hoping it would begin the process of reconciliation. However, this meeting marked the last time the pair saw one another, meaning they have not seen each other face-to-face for more than a year.

Amid the monarch’s cancer diagnosis, it’s previously been reported that Prince Harry has been left in the dark regarding the status of his father’s health. When the monarch had a short stay in hospital earlier this year after suffering side effects from his cancer treatment, it was alleged that the Duke of Sussex found out about it on the news like everyone else.

According to PEOPLE magazine, Harry has not been told about his father’s current condition or prognosis, with a source claiming that the King had been ‘unavailable’ during Harry’s recent visits to the UK. A palace source said: “I don’t think there is any rapprochement”, while another added: “They are distant”.

With Prince Harry and Charles’ relationship appearing to remain strained, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond discussed the “great sadness” that came with the King being a stranger to his two grandchildren – as well as to his youngest son. “He always loved Harry – he called him ‘darling boy’. And I’m sure he still does love Harry and would love even more to be able to spend time with Archie and Lilibet,” she told The Mirror.

“Charles is a loving grandfather to George, Charlotte, and Louis. And as his battle with cancer progresses, I’m certain that he will consider how awful it must be to be unable to spend time with Harry’s children.

Prince Harry and William are not thought to have spoken in years, so Charles may not be the only one to miss out. “I always imagined Harry and William being close and enjoying the togetherness of their children,” Jennie continued.

“And I suppose there will always be times when they’ll have similar thoughts. However, there is no evidence that the cousins ever gotten to know one another.

‘Do I keep playing blurry?’ – Williams on eye surgery decision

Three-time world champion Mark Williams says he has a “big decision to make” over whether to go through with lens replacement surgery.

The Welshman, who is level at 8-8 with world number one Judd Trump in his World Championship semi-final at the Crucible, is scheduled to have the procedure on 12 June.

Williams, who turned 50 in March, said recently that his “eyes had completely gone” and that his eyesight had “deteriorated quite badly” in the previous six months.

However, he says he has been discouraged after fellow professional Anthony Hamilton, once ranked in the world’s top 10, told him it had “ruined his career”.

Williams said: “I have been reading up and talking to people who have had it done and I’ve got to be honest, it is putting me off a bit.

“I’ve got a big decision to make. A couple of people I have spoken to, especially Anthony Hamilton at length, have said it is no good under the lights and it has ruined his career.

Williams won the Champion of Champions title in November, two months after reaching the final of the Saudi Arabia Masters, and is currently ranked sixth in the world.

Before the World Championship, he tried playing with contact lenses but elected to play without them after discussions with his coach Lee Walker.

He has defeated Wu Yize, Hossein Vafaei and won a classic against fellow ‘Class of 92’ member John Higgins on the final black in Sheffield.

Should he beat Trump, he would become the oldest player to reach a Crucible final.

Black Sabbath’s ‘secret plan’ to help Ozzy Osbourne in final gig amid health setback

Ozzy Osbourne has acknowledged that he may be seated for his final performance and that the performing arts will make an effort to put on a show centered around him.

Concert organisers will “use smoke and mirrors” to make sure Ozzy Osbourne gets the triumphant send off he deserves in his final gig. Frontman Ozzy, 76, has given an interview where he vowed to “do the best I can” as he prepares to play his final ever live show with Black Sabbath.

He also acknowledged that he wouldn’t be very active on the stage in Birmingham. He continued, “I’m used to jumping around and running for two hours on stage.” This time, I don’t believe I’ll be doing much jumping or running. I might be sat down. The band’s brief set, which will be played at Villa Park on July 5, according to a source close to the Osbournes, took months of planning, according to a source close to the band.

Ozzy’s entrance and performance will likely be enjoyed by fans, but there will likely be plenty of smoke like at old Sabbath gigs, flashing lights, and Tommy Iommi’s big guitar solos.

There are plenty of tricks and video montages of the band over the years included before they even begin playing, according to the organizers, who have been planning this gig for well over a year. If necessary, we can use the rest of the band and smoke and mirrors to give Ozzy a sense of his stage presence and extended performance.

Osbourne broke his hip-hop career in 2023 after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020.

The following morning, you wake up to discover that something else is wrong. You start to believe that this will never end, he told G2 on Friday.

He claimed that his wife Sharon had planned the reunion concert so that I could have a reason to get up in the morning.

I exercise, ride my bike, and have a neighbor who works for me. He said, “I’ve been laid up for such a long time. It’s tough.”

“Your strength is the first thing I need to go after lying on my back doing nothing. It’s like resuming everything.

To keep my voice moving, I’ve got a vocal coach coming round every four days.

“I have problems walking. I also get blood pressure issues, from blood clots on my legs.

I’m accustomed to jumping around and running for two hours on stage.

“This time, I don’t believe I’ll be doing much jumping or running.” I might be sat down.

He continued, “We only play a few songs per song.” Because it’s going to be… what’s the word, I don’t want people to think “we’re getting ripped off.” You’ll receive a few Ozzy and Sabbath songs as samples, each of which are as follows.

Sammy Hagar, a former Van Halen frontman, claimed Sammy Hagar was told that Osbourne will “try to sing five songs,” including No More Tears.

Osbourne fell at home in 2019, which worsened her injuries from a 2003 quad bike crash that was almost fatal.

He told US television’s Good Morning America, “I just can’t wait to get well enough to go on the road, because that’s what’s killing me,” when he described his Parkinson’s diagnosis in January 2020.

A number of well-known metal bands will play shows at the all-day event at Villa Park in Birmingham, the city where the heavy rock kings first formed in 1968, including Metallica, Slayer, and Alice In Chains. The show will raise money for children’s and Parkinson’s charities.

The band performed what was meant to be their “last” gig in 2017 without Ward on drums, with Osbourne, guitarist Iommi, and bassist Butler. This time, the band’s era will end.

“Never say never,” I’d love to say, but it’s only a matter of time after the last six or so, Ozzy said.

“I spent 50 or so years traveling, and I’ve kind of grown used to not getting on the bus or picking up my bags.” I no longer smoke or live the rock star lifestyle. I resemble a typical homebody in some ways. I never leave. I don’t drink in bars, so I never hang out there. What the hell is that for me, then?

I don’t want to pass away in a hotel room somewhere; it’s time for me to spend some time with my grandchildren. The rest of my life should be spent with my family.

Osbourne, Iommi, Butler, and Ward were escaping a factory-based life in Birmingham where Black Sabbath’s story began.

Their 1970 debut album, which went on to become the UK’s top 10, opened the door to a long line of chart-topping hits.

With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide, they eventually became one of the most well-known and influential metal bands ever.

Osbourne was added for a second time last year after being inducted into the Rock &amp, Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

He previously celebrated his home city in 2022 when he helped close the Commonwealth Games.

Through their reality TV series The Osbournes, he gained even more fame alongside his wife Sharon, who he wed in 1982 and who has three children, Aimee, Jack, and Kelly.

What chances a Rangers guard of honour for Celtic?

SNS

Every time the Scottish title is decided the game before the final Old Firm derby of the season, the thorny question of a guard of honor for the newly crowned champions is raised.

The only difference being the protagonists in the dugout and on the pitch is that you can now celebrate your fiercest, most formidable city rivals in such circumstances.

This is the case this season, as demonstrated by Celtic’s 5-0 win over Dundee United last weekend, which moved them to Glasgow on Sunday to take on second-place Rangers.

At pre-game press conferences, people frequently ask whether a guard of honor is something that truly annoys the clubs, their fans, or just a media construct.

It’s a sign of respect, the author says.

Luke McCowan, a Celtic midfielder, said: “I don’t know how it would be if it was on the other foot and I don’t think we’ll ever know how it would be.” McCowan also acknowledged that he was not expecting a guard of honor at Ibrox.

His manager makes the point that you must give one, not “in the rules.”

When two rival clubs are so emotionally charged, Rodgers said, “I think it’s always difficult for the team that comes out on top.” “I’m relaxed on it any way.”

Despite that, he laments the country’s loss of “traditions of the great managers” despite admitting to being “a little bit of a traditionalist.”

“I always believe that showing that humility to the other team, regardless of the rivalry,” he said. “Whether you’re a champion to show, or not to show, it’s a mark of respect.”

It has never occurred in the past, according to the statement.

Barry Ferguson has played for the Rangers both before and now as the interim head coach.

He said, “I don’t understand why there’s always a big clamor about a guard of honor.”

“I don’t know whether it’s Celtic or Rangers, but I believe it will always be that way.”

Prince Harry reveals he ‘doesn’t know how long’ King Charles has left

After claiming King Charles “refuses” to speak to him in response to his ongoing security battle in the UK, Prince Harry has shared his hopes for a “conciliation” with the Royal Family.

Prince Harry has opened up about his estrangement from his father, King Charles, in the wake of his security battle.

The Duke of Sussex today sensationally lost his Court of Appeal challenge over his security arrangements whilst in the UK. The ruling handed down earlier this afternoon is a huge blow for Harry, who previously argued he wanted his children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, to know their UK heritage.

However, he feels he is left with no option but for his wife, Meghan Markle, and his children to stay out of his beloved homeland unless they have taxpayer-funded police protection. Talking just hours after the “devastating” decision, Prince Harry spoke to the BBC about his hopes of a “reconciliation” with his family, adding that his father “refuses” to talk to him.

He also admitted that he “doesn’t know how much longer my father has”. The Duke continued, “Of course, some members of my family will never pardon me for writing a book.” They will never, after all, forgive me for many things. But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. There is no point in fighting any longer, as I’ve always said.

Life is precious, I said, and I was right. I don’t know how much longer my father has he, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile. “

When asked if the last step to repairing relations with his family was the security issue, he said” 100%”, adding:” Whatever noise is being created, whatever stories have been written, this has always been the sticking point.

God forbid anything should happen, so put yourself in my shoes if you take a step back and try to take on the same official role that you were born into, for the sake of your wife, your mental health, and your child, which is currently being made public. And I have no regrets about it.

” But 2020, when that decision happened, I couldn’t believe it. I was really shocked by it. With all the disagreements and the current chaos, I believed that my family would be the one thing keeping me safe.

“And not only did they decide to remove my security in the UK, but they also signalled to every single government around the world not to protect us”.

King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, made an open admission of the “daunting and occasionally frightening experience” of receiving his diagnosis a day later. In a written note, Charles expressed his appreciation for the “profound impact of human connection” and noted how “the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion” before hosting a special reception for cancer charities at Buckingham Palace.

In the personally penned message for the programme of the event, attended by champions of cancer charities and those who are living with cancer, including radio DJ Adele Roberts, TV personality Ashley Cain, actor Richard E Grant, and the parents of the late campaigner Dame Deborah James, the King highlighted the gravity of 1,000 people a day being handed a cancer diagnosis.

Revealing his own feelings of becoming “among those statistics myself”, he added: “I can vouch for the fact that it can also be an experience that brings into sharp focus the very best of humanity.” Charles was diagnosed with cancer last February following a three night hospital stay at The London Clinic in Marylebone for an enlarged prostate procedure. Subsequent diagnostic tests identified a form of cancer.

Harry claimed he learned about his father’s ill health in the media after Charles was admitted to a hospital last month after experiencing side effects from his cancer treatment, just like everyone else.

Harry’s emotional interview with the BBC comes after he had been challenging the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the country.

The duke’s lawyers told the Court of Appeal that his safety, security, and life are “at stake” and that he had been “singled out” for “inferior treatment” at a two-day hearing in April. Harry’s appeal was rejected, however, by Sir Geoffrey Vos, Lord Justice Bean, and Lord Justice Edis.

Harry doesn’t ‘see a world’ where his kids can be in the UK(Image: ARCHWELL)

Speaking tonight with the BBC, he said: “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point. The things they’re going to miss, well, that’s everything.

” I love my country, I always have done. Despite what some people there have done. I adore the UK, and I do. “He added:” I think that’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland. “

The Duke claimed that because of his security arrangements in the UK, he had not asked his father to intervene. I’ve never asked him to intervene, he continued.

“I’ve asked him to step out. I let the experts do their jobs by going outside the box. The Royals and professionals make up the Ravec committee, which is expert. He added: “Five years later, every single visit that I do back to the UK has to go through the royal household.

The royal household is still my Ravec committee representative to this day. I don’t make that choice. I am forced to go through the royal household and accept that they are putting my best interests forward during these conversations and deliberations.

“I haven’t asked my father to intervene,” I replied. The Duke of Sussex responded, “Everything,” when asked by the BBC about how his current security arrangements made him feel uneasy. He continued: “I would not have taken this this far if I did not have compelling evidence of facts that reveal why the decision was made and I am sitting here today talking to you, where we have lost the appeal, but the other side have won in keeping me unsafe, so again there is a lot of question marks that a lot of people will have.

Throughout the legal process, I am assured that I am completely informed. Based on this ruling, I have my worst fears known, and I haven’t learned that until this legal process in 2021.

“One of the first things my lawyer said to me as disclosure started, as this process started, was ‘ did you know that the royal household sat on Ravec? “, and my jaw fell to the floor.” The Duke of Sussex felt disrespected by the system, according to Sir Geoffrey, who praised the arguments made by Harry’s barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, as being “powerful and moving.”

But he said: “I concluded, having studied the detail of the extensive documentation, I could not say that the duke’s sense of grievance translated into a legal argument for the challenge to Ravec’s decision”. The duke was, in effect, entering and exiting the Ravec protection group, he continued. Although he was outside the cohort when he was in the UK, his security would be regarded as appropriate.

He added: “It was impossible to say that this reasoning was illogical or inappropriate, indeed it seemed sensible”. Ravec’s decision, according to Sir Geoffrey, was “understandable and perhaps predictable.” At Friday’s brief hearing, Harry was not present.

The Home Office, which is legally responsible for Ravec’s decisions, opposed the appeal, with its lawyers previously telling the court that Ravec’s decision was taken in a “unique set of circumstances” and that there was “no proper basis” for challenging it.

We are pleased that the court has decided in favor of the government’s position in this case, according to a Home Office spokesman. The UK Government’s security measures are fair and effective. It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals ‘ security”.

The Mirror has approached Buckingham Palace for comment.
