David Beckham all smiles at launch event amid ‘rift’ with Brooklyn Beckham

David Beckham was all smiles at an event in London yesterday as rumours of a rift within his family continue to attract attention amid Brooklyn Beckham’s marriage to Nicola Peltz

It was all smiles from David Beckham at an event this week despite rumours of a rift within his family. He appeared to be in good spirits whilst socialising with other guests at a launch party for a brand following his milestone birthday.

David, 50, attended the launch of Nespresso’s new flagship boutique in London yesterday. The retired footballer, who’s an ambassador for the coffee brand, was among the guests invited to the store, which is located in Covent Garden.

He modelled a striped navy jacket and trousers at the event as part of his outfit, which also included a black top. David accessorised with a brown belt and opted to wear a pair of biege shoes for the special occasion earlier this week.

Photos from the event, including of him posing beside other guests, show David smiling inside the store. He got to explore the boutique whilst at the launch, with one photo showing him stood behind a counter with a coffee cup.

It comes just days after David’s 50th birthday last week, which has fuelled speculation of tension among his family. His eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30 are thought to have been absent from a party for him last weekend after reportedly missing other celebrations.

A source told the Mirror recently that there is “distance” between Brooklyn and his parents. The source said: “Brooklyn not turning up was a real blow to David. Brooklyn was close with his dad growing up, but he is married now. His wife Nicola is older and confident in her own right, and so there is distance between Brooklyn and his parents.”

The source added: “It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal.”

There’s been much speculation over the alleged tension within the family lately. Although Nicola’s been brought up as a potential contributor, it has also been suggested that another relationship is at the centre of the apparent situation.

It’s been reported that Brooklyn and his brother Romeo Beckham, 22, aren’t on speaking terms, with it claimed that there’s been some tension over Romeo’s relationship with Kim Turnbull. Brooklyn was reportedly once romantically linked to Kim, but Hello magazine recently reported that, amid commentary on social media, younger brother Cruz Beckham, 20, wrote in a now-deleted comment that the pair “never dated”.

TMZ previously reported that any potential romance in the past was “water under the bridge”. It added that sources said the alleged issue was over Brooklyn and Nicola questioning whether Kim has “the right intentions” in dating Romeo.

More recently though, a source complained to the Daily Mail about actor Nicola. In an article published on Monday, the source said: “Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now.”

The source went on to claim that Nicola “finds a way to start an argument”. They claimed that Brooklyn had told his parents that he would be there for David’s birthday, but the source alleged that, amid his making plans with his family, Nicola would then “kick something off” and in the end it becomes “impossible” for her husband to attend such events.

However, a source has since suggested to the Mirror that Nicola is the peacekeeper. Their comments came following reports that Brooklyn and Nicola had offered to privately meet David for his birthday in the UK, rather than attend the star-studded party, but didn’t have their request fulfilled.

The source told us: “Nicola encourages Brooklyn to see his family and is usually the reason Brooklyn does see his family. They are both devastated. They cannot believe that Victoria & David refused to see them privately after they travelled all the way to London specifically to try to repair the relationship.”

They went on to say to us: “As parents, it’s shocking that Victoria & David are behaving this way… instead of privately discussing the issue. Victoria and David (appear to) have no interest in finding a solution that works for everyone.”

Amid the ongoing speculation over an alleged rift, David reached out to Brooklyn in a post on Instagram earlier this week. It came amid David revealing that he went on a fishing and camping trip to Scotland with his younger sons Romeo and Cruz last week just days before his milestone birthday.

He shared a series of photos from the trip, which he said had been planned six months in advance, and confirmed that Brooklyn wasn’t with them. Alongside a selfie of himself, Romeo and Cruz, David wrote: “Fun times in [Scotland].” Then tagging his eldest son, he added: “You were missed [Brooklyn].”

Maresca Ready For Chelsea’s ‘Huge’ Newcastle Test

Enzo Maresca has backed Chelsea’s revitalised midfield to make the difference in Sunday’s crucial clash with top five rivals Newcastle.

Maresca named an unchanged starting line-up for successive Premier League games for the first time in six months as champions Liverpool were beaten 3-1 by the Blues last weekend.

The return of Romeo Lavia, who has started consecutive matches for the first time since November after missing virtually all of last season, has been vital to Chelsea’s ability to control the midfield battle.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are playing their best football since arriving at Stamford Bridge, with the latter this week named the club’s player of the season.

With a solid foundation behind him, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer finally looked back to his best as he ended his long goal drought against Liverpool.

Maresca believes the midfield engine room could hold the key to victory at St James’ Park, with Newcastle’s charge to fourth place inspired by the form of Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali.

“Absolutely, yes. Against Liverpool we repeated the first XI after six months. It’s important when you can continue with the same players,” Maresca said.

“We have Romeo back fit, Moises is doing well, Enzo and Cole are doing well. Newcastle also have Bruno Guimaraes, Tonali, (Jacob) Murphy, (Joe) Willock. They have different kinds of players. I expect for sure a huge game.”

Fifth-placed Chelsea go into Sunday’s game behind Newcastle only on goals scored, with both sides knowing a win will be a huge boost in the race to qualify for the Champions League.

Maresca’s men, who will face Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final, have hit form at just the right moment, winning six of their last nine league games.

But whatever the result on Sunday, their destiny will likely still rest on their final two fixtures, at home to Manchester United and away to top five rivals Nottingham Forest.

Asked whether Newcastle’s attacking style could play into Chelsea’s hands, Maresca said: “I hope so. We’ve played games against teams who play a low block, against teams that try to be aggressive, and we made some good games in both situations.”

‘Best day of my life’ – Pollock on Lions call

Northampton Saints flanker Henry Pollock says his selection for the British and Irish Lions’ tour of Australia was “the best day of his life”.

The 20-year-old, who started the year off playing for England in the Under-20 Six Nations, was named in Andy Farrell’s 38-strong party on Thursday to mark a rapid rise.

Pollock went on to score two tries on his England senior debut against Wales in March, before starring for Saints as they reached the Investec Champions Cup final on 24 May.

“It sounds mad [to say I am a British and Irish Lion] . I am honoured and can’t really believe it,” Pollock told BBC Look East.

“We were all watching it and hoping for the best and when it got announced, all the boys jumped on me.

“It was a feeling I will never forget. It was probably the best day of my life.”

Pollock’s inclusion generated the loudest cheer from about 2,000 fans inside Indigo, a venue within London’s O2 Arena complex.

The flanker, who is the youngest player in the squad, won World Rugby’s Under-20 Championship in July with England, before making his first Premiership start in October.

Four Saints players were named in Farrell’s squad with Tommy Freeman, Alex Mitchell and Fin Smith all joining Pollock, who watched the announcement with a number of his team-mates.

“I walked out of the room and tried to phone my mum, who didn’t pick up which was class,” he joked.

“I then called mum and dad and they were balling their eyes out crying.

“I am just so happy that I’ve made them happy, I am honoured.”

Pollock was selected instead of Toulouse flanker Jack Willis, Sale Sharks’ Ben Curry and Scotland’s Rory Darge, with Farrell admitting that, in the end, he did not need convincing about selecting the one-cap flanker.

An all-action display on both sides of the ball against Leinster, who have 12 players heading on the Lions tour, showed Pollock can compete with the best and he plans to show that in Australia.

He faces tough back row competition in Ireland’s Jack Conan and Josh van der Flier, England pair Tom Curry and Ben Earl, and Wales captain Jac Morgan, but remains confident of adding value.

“It is the pinnacle of the sport and everything that you work for and want to achieve in rugby,” he added.

This Morning’s Nick Ferrari shares huge wedding update as Alison Hammond left fuming

LBC broadcaster Nick Ferrari has shared a huge update on his upcoming wedding after confirming that he proposed to his fiancée Clare Patterson, on holiday

A This Morning star has revealed they’re getting married very soon. Nick Ferrari, who is best known for his LBC programme shared the news on Friday’s episode of This Morning.

It comes just weeks after he opened up about his romance with his fiancée Clare Patterson, with whom he has been with for ten years. Nick, 66, appeared on the ITV midday magazine show alongside regular guest Ashley James as the pair spoke to hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

During a discussion over the size of a bridal party, Alison quipped: “I think you need at least ten bridesmaids right?” Ashley, 38, responded: “I don’t want to get married but I would say if you want to have one, none, 95, I feel like it’s your day!” Looking over to Nick, who has previously been married, she said: “And hopefully you only do it once, if you’re lucky, you get to do it two or three times.”

An intrigued Alison asked: “How many have you had Nick?” Nick went on to respond: “A couple… But you don’t know how many friends you’ve got until you announce you are getting married in the South of France as I am later this year.

“Suddenly, everyone is your friend!” Shocked by the news, Ashley joked: “I still haven’t made the cut,” which prompted Alison to reply: “I don’t think I’ve made the cut, I’m devastated!”

But Dermot was on hand to comfort the star as he joked it was “early doors” to be discussing the wedding. Alison said that if she attended, she’d have playfully shouted out: “It should have been me!” Nick first shared the happy news of his upcoming wedding on This Morning earlier this January.

He left his viewers with a bittersweet sentiment as he revealed: “Well I know a nation’s heart is broken but I have to impart the news that I am engaged to be wed to Clare.”

He gleefully announced his engagement, sharing: “I am engaged to be wed to Clare. We had the most idyllic Christmas and we’d been to Lapland and had a brilliant time.”

Continuing the romantic tale, Nick added: “Then we were down in the South of France and after ten years together, I said she could make an honest man out of me. I did it at our favourite restaurant in the South of France and I wanted her to play a role in designing her engagement ring.

“So we went along to a DIY store and kept getting down on one knee.” He said he got down on one knee and asked Clare to hand him a screwdriver instead as a joke. He later confirmed that he had bought a “decent ring” in a local village.

Nick, who shares two sons from his marriage to Sandra Phylis Conolly, has generally kept details about his soon-to-be bride, Clare, under wraps during interviews, though he once let slip in 2017 that she was a colleague.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.

Justin Bieber breaks silence on concerning posts – ‘I’ve done things that hurt others’

Justin Bieber admits “I’ve hurt others” as he broke his silence on his alarming social media posts. In recent weeks, the former child star has left fans concerned after a string of cryptic social media posts, as well as alluding to drug use in some images shared on his Instagram page.

Taking to Instagram, he said: “I’m just an averaged flawed guy, I’ve done things that have hurt others, I continue to do and say things that hurt others unintentionally.

“Yet I woke up this morning with another opportunity to grow and not be so selfish today. Love draws us in. Love doesn’t condemn. Love believes the best. Love hopes all things and endures all things. It doesn’t keep record of wrong. Love helps u to forgive and love even your enemies.”

A second post read: “I sometimes think I’m gonna get exposed if I tell people how selfish I am. Like if I admitted that, maybe people wouldn’t like me or trust me. I thought if I was honest about the selfish things I was feeling that I was gonna be disqualified from the dreams I had of being included.

“But the more honest I am about where I really am. The more freedom I actually have. The truth is I wake up every morning. Some days I’m optimistic, sometimes I wake up pessimistic, I can’t control how I’m gonna feel, I would find myself even subconsciously blaming god for the bad feeling I woke up with rather than communicate with him and ask him to help me have a change of perspective.

“I’ve been really asking God to help me see the best in people, even after being used in the way I have. Once again, it’s easier to point the finger than it is to take ownership. It’s easy to say damn their greedy rather than to check the greed in our own hearts. Only God can remove the greed and selfishness from our hearts. Trying harder won’t work. Cuz I tried lol.”

While Justin has sparked concern over alleged drug use after sharing images of him appearing to smoke through a bong, a representative for the singer furiously shut down rumours of him using hard drugs, saying accusations were “absolutely not true”. They added that he was “simply in one of the best places in his life”. Speaking to TMZ, Justin’s rep said the past year has been “very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.”

They added that fans’ concerns about his physical and mental health are “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
