James Argent’s beauty queen girlfriend’s tearful words to stranger after attack

EXCLUSIVE: James Argent’s girlfriend was left emotional in the street after her clash with the reality star, a passerby has exclusively revealed to the Mirror

James Argent’s girlfriend sobbed in the street a passerby has revealed

James Argent’s Swedish model girlfriend sobbed in the street after her altercation with the TOWIE star, telling a passerby: “I can’t believe what’s happened…we planned to have a family.” Nicoline Artursson was consoled by a witness who came to her aid just moments after the bust-up.

She told the passerby: “I’m in total shock…my life with Arg was so happy before this.” Former Miss Sweden Artursson was on a getaway with Argent, in Mijas, near Malaga, on May 5.

The passerby, who had been dining at a nearby restaurant, witnessed the commotion from across the road. The witness said: “I saw him throwing all his clothes off the balcony… And a lot of screaming in the house, and then he ran out with a large bag.

Nicoline was crying a lot and very nervous and agitated on the street, trying to call the police, but they didn’t speak English, so I went to help her translate. She said nothing like this had ever happened before.” The witness said the bust-up occurred around 11pm and both the police and Artursson’s mother later arrived after Argent had left.

“When she spoke to the police, she said he had behaved badly with her and the police said you should come to the police station to report it. They said to go with them in the police car,” the person said. “Her mother told her to grab some clothes and said ‘we’ll go’. I went home but I told them if they needed help, I’m here.”

The passerby said that no idea that the couple in question were famous. The witness added: “I just saw a girl crying on the street trying to call the police, and I went out to help and translate. Then she stayed with the police, and I went home. She kept thanking me for being with her and helping her.”

Spanish police said Argent was later arrested for “an alleged crime of domestic violence”. The reality star appeared before the Court of Violence against Women, in Fuengirola, and was later handed a suspended prison sentence for a gender violence offence and given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years

He was banned from contacting Artursson, 32, during this period. Today, Artursson was seen for the first time with her mother in Spain texting on her phone. A second witness said Ms Artursson appeared “emotionally and physically devastated” after the bust-up. “We were out walking our dogs by the beach when we suddenly heard an aggressive man yelling,” they said. “We saw him throwing objects from the terrace of a nearby house. We were frightened by his shouts.

“The man continued to throw things as she lay injured on the stairs. The situation escalated quickly, and we were scared and unsure of what to do. Another woman arrived to assist the injured woman, who was lying helplessly at the foot of the stairs. At that moment, the man slammed the door and fled. Within moments, concerned bystanders had gathered to help the woman, and the police arrived swiftly.”

The reality star has since spoken after his arrest. “I am devastated by what’s happened.” He went on to tell the Daily Mail that he hadn’t relapsed, explaining: “I am still three years and four months clean and sober.”

Argent rose to fame as an original cast member on The Only Way Is Essex, appearing on the ITV series from 2010 until 2018. Over the years, the 37-year-old singer has taken part in a number of reality TV shows, including Celebrity Super Spa, The Jump, Sugar Free Farm and Celebs Go Dating.

TOWIE suspended Argent from filming in October 2014 when he failed a drug test. He later attended rehab before returning to the series. The reality TV star has regularly been an inpatient at centres due to his issues with drug addiction. Speaking in 2023, Argent said: “I battled with [drug addiction] for a number of years. But I’ve got through it and I’m doing alright. I’m doing well. I’m clean, sober, and I have been for a long time now.”

Weeks before the domestic violence arrest, Arg gushed over their relationship while attending Jess Wright’s Have A Heart Charity Ball on April 22. “My girlfriend is back in our beach house in Marbella but I’m representing us both tonight. Everything is good with us, it’s going really good, I’m happy,” he told the Mirror

When asked whether seeing pal Mark Wright welcome a baby with his wife Michelle Keegan, made him broody and want kids of his own, he laughed: “No comment.”

He previously spoke about Artursson to OK! Magazine saying: “I was walking to my gig at Elliott Wright’s restaurant in Marbella. All of a sudden I see this woman coming towards me. I was like, ‘Wow, she’s beautiful.’ She was just in her gym clothes, wearing no make-up. She’d actually just fed a stray cat.”

He added: “To have her beside me is like a dream. She’s absolutely beautiful. She’s a combination of Julia Roberts and Claudia Schiffer. What I love about Nicoline is, even though she’s very humble, she’s very classy.”

Brazil’s Petrobras Eyes Return To Nigeria

Brazilian state oil company, Petrobras, is seeking a return to Nigeria’s oil sector with a renewed focus on frontier deepwater exploration as part of efforts to strengthen ties between both countries.

In a statement on Wednesday, Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, announced that the development came during an interministerial review meeting.

The meeting, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, was held to prepare for the second session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM) in June 2025.

Petrobras had previously wound down its Nigerian operations at the Agbami Field, but with renewed economic reforms under President Bola Tinubu, the company is now actively engaging Nigerian authorities as it eyes fresh investment opportunities.

Speaking at the session, Vice President Shettima underscored the strategic importance of Nigeria’s relationship with Brazil, especially as Brazil prepares to host a series of global summits this year.

“The presence of six ministers and the Solicitor-General of the Federation in this review meeting ahead of the second session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism shows the importance we have attached to our relationship with Brazil.

“We have not maximally capitalised on the fraternity between us and Brazil, but it is better late than never. The upcoming SDM presents an opportunity to execute sector-specific Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and unlock investment flows,” Shettima said.

Highlighting the significance of 2025 as a pivotal year for global diplomacy, Shettima said, “This year is our moment of interface with Brazil. Brazil is hosting so many global events this year – from the BRICS Summit to the G20 Summit and COP30. This convergence of events provides us with a unique opportunity to advance our interests on the global stage.”

The Vice President also commended the ministers for their renewed vigour and patriotic commitment, stating that “there is a sea change in our attitude, disposition, and commitment.”

Petrobras Reengages

Providing further insight into Petrobras’ return, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, confirmed ongoing discussions with the company.

“Apart from ethanol, which they are hoping to engage the NNPCL for blending, Petrobras is also being actively engaged, and we expect they will form part of the delegation to Nigeria,” Tuggar said.

“Petrobras is no longer active in Nigeria, but they are very keen on coming back. They said they want frontier acreage in deep waters.”

Tuggar added that Brazil’s own preparations for the 2025 SDM are well underway, with both governmental and private sector entities actively mobilised by Brazil’s Vice President.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is coordinating Nigeria’s interministerial working groups, has compiled 12 draft MOUs awaiting approval by the Ministry of Justice. The draft agreements span key sectors including energy, health, culture, and agriculture.

Sectoral Collaboration Expands

Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, spoke on the shared heritage between both countries.

“We must not only preserve this relationship but deepen it. We’ve finalised MOUs with the Nigerian Film Corporation on audiovisual co-productions, the National Gallery of Arts for joint exhibitions, and the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation ahead of FESTAC at 50 next year,” Musawa stated.

In the agricultural sector, Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari, announced that MOUs had been concluded on key research collaborations.

“We have finalised MOUs that focus on research in three areas: soybean value chain development, cassava research and technology transfer, and agro-forestry systems, which promote integrated crop-livestock models and climate adaptation,” Kyari explained.

These efforts, he noted, build upon the Green Imperative Project (GIP) – an earlier agricultural cooperation initiative between Nigeria and Brazil.

On the health front, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Pate, pointed to Brazil as a model for Nigeria’s ambitions in achieving universal health coverage.

“There are important opportunities for us in several areas in our efforts to achieve universal health coverage and primary health care between Nigeria and Brazil. They have done a lot that we can learn from,” said Pate.

“We see potential for collaboration in pharmaceutical research, local drug manufacturing, and workforce training. Brazil’s experience in addressing tropical and sub-tropical diseases makes it an ideal partner for joint research and development.”

Katie Price’s ex Kris Boyson ‘furious’ as star accuses him of cheating in explosive interview

Katie Price’s ex-fiance Kris Boyson is reportedly furious after the former glamour model again made claims that every partner she has been with has cheated on her

Kris Boyson is said to be “furious” with ex-fiancée Katie Price after her latest allegations. The former glamour model, 46, recently claimed that every man she has dated previously has cheated on her.

However, Kris, 36, is reportedly livid at the claims as his name gets caught up in his ex’s story once again. He’s thought to be desperate to keep his name out of the narrative. The personal trainer dated Katie between 2018 and 2019, with the pair having a brief engagement.

Katie recently told Celebs Go Dating expert Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast: “I suppose every, literally, every relationship I’ve been in, I’ve been cheated on.

“And when I see the people they cheated on me with, I’ve always gone, ‘Oh, why have they gone for them? I thought I was a little bit better looking than them’.

“It sort of gives you that self doubt, ‘What am I good enough for?’” However, it is a claim Kris is said to be less than impressed about. A source told the Sun: “Kris is furious that Katie talked about how all men have cheated on her on the Paul C. Brunson podcast, as he never did and he’s sick of her saying it.”

The source continued: “She’s said it during a few interviews now, and he feels like it’s dragging his name through the mud and tarnishing him with the same brush as some of the other blokes she’s dated, when he has moved on.

“They dated years ago, but Kris feels like she talks about all her exes as if they are the same and like she is completely blameless for anything ever going wrong in a relationship.”

In December, Kris admitted to the Mirror that he feels “sorry” for his ex. He said at the time: “Deep down, I think she’s a really decent girl, I just think she’s got a lot of issues she needs to fix.

“I feel a bit sorry for her now. I think people have their struggles, everyone’s got struggles in life, and unfortunately, hers have played out in the media for everyone to see.”

He also confessed his life is so different since the duo went their separate ways. Kris added: “I’m a completely different person.”

He then mentioned being in a new relationship but confirmed he wants to keep his girlfriend’s identity private. “We’ve been together for a while,” he continued.

“I’ve never really spoken about it. It’s nice to have a private life for once. It’s nice to keep certain things private.”

I’m far from quitting as Man Utd coach – Amorim

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says he has no intention of walking out on the club.

In the immediate aftermath of Sunday’s Premier League defeat by West Ham, Amorim said if he could not sort the club’s problems out heading into next season United should find someone who could.

That has been interpreted as the former Sporting boss beginning to realise he has taken on a job that might be beyond him.

However, in a Uefa briefing at Old Trafford arranged to preview the Europa League final against Tottenham on 21 May, he said that was not the case.

“I’m far from quitting,” he said.

“I have a clear idea of what to do and I understand the problems of the team.

“Since I arrived here, I’m always talking about standards. I cannot see the team having these results, especially in the Premier League, and not say anything or take the responsibility.

While Amorim has guided United to a European final for only the third time since 2011, his side have been terrible in the Premier League.

They go into the penultimate round of fixtures in 16th place and are heading for their worst finish since the 1973-74 relegation campaign.

United have won four league games in 2025, three of which were against the teams who got relegated. Their only league victories since winning at Fulham on 26 January were against Ipswich and Leicester.

It could be argued a failure to beat Tottenham would at least provide more clear midweeks for Amorim to work with his squad next season.

The coach does not view it that way at all.

“I am not going to use that as an excuse,” he said. “That would be really bad.

“If we don’t win it is going to be really tough, and the patience of the fans and you guys [the media] next year is going to be on the limit.

Losing final would be ‘a waste of time’

The aftermath of the West Ham defeat has been filled with stories about the plans United’s hierarchy have put in place around the final.

Limits have been placed on the number of tickets players are allowed – and what staff are entitled to.

There will be no parade in the event of a win against Tottenham. Instead celebrations will be restricted to a low-key barbeque at the club’s Carrington training ground when Amorim’s squad return on Thursday.

Evidently, Amorim and his players have the financial muscle to pay for their friends and family to get to Bilbao if needed.

However, others who work closely with the first team are not in the same fortunate financial position.

So, at a time when a second round of up to 200 redundancies are planned following the 250 jobs that were axed last year, Amorim and his players have decided to help out by paying for some tickets for the backroom team’s families.

“The situation is simple,” he said. “We have a lot of things, with people leaving and a lot of changes in the staff, so at this moment in our club sometimes it is hard to know when to give and when to take.

“We have to respect the people whose jobs are being taken to survive and rebuild.

“It is complicated for the club to start giving to other members of staff, which makes it a really hard position.

“That situation was explained so my reaction was to help.

“It is not going to change my life [financially]. To help the staff be there and comfortable means they will be better staff for the final.

“We talk to the players and the players have the same reaction – everybody wants their families there.”

Amorim has his own experience of a Europa League final, as a player in the Benfica side beaten on penalties by Sevilla in Turin in 2014.

Aside from the £100m financial windfall that qualification for the Champions League would bring, as a straightforward football match Amorim knows next week is not a game to lose.

“I will never say I was a finalist,” he said. “The feeling has to be ‘what a waste of time’.

Key takeaways from day two of Donald Trump’s tour of the Middle East

Donald Trump has continued his tour of the Middle East with a stop in Qatar, marking the first time a United States president has made an official state visit to the Gulf country.

But just before he boarded Air Force One to fly into the Qatari capital of Doha, Trump made history in another way: He took his first-ever meeting with Syria’s new president, Ahmed al-Sharaa.

Wednesday marked the halfway point in Trump’s four-day trip, which included an opening stop in Saudi Arabia and will conclude in the United Arab Emirates.

And as with his other stops, Trump underscored warming relations and expanding business ties with leaders from Syria and Qatar — though, back home in the US, the Democratic Party raised concerns about how the Republican leader’s personal interests might be guiding his closed-door conversations.

Here are the key takeaways from Wednesday’s meetings and stops.

A high-profile meeting in Saudi Arabia

Before setting off for Qatar, Trump took one of the most highly anticipated meetings of his entire trip: a sit-down with Syrian President al-Sharaa.

It was the first time in nearly a quarter century that the top leaders from Syria and the US met face to face. And the meeting was extraordinary for a number of reasons: Until December, the US had offered a $10m reward for al-Sharaa’s capture.

It continues to list Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the armed group al-Sharaa led during Syria’s civil war, as a “foreign terrorist organisation”, due to its past ties with al-Qaeda.

But since a coalition led by HTS toppled the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in December, the US has been reevaluating its relationship with the group and its leadership.

The toppling of al-Assad’s government brought an end to Syria’s 13-year-long civil war, and al-Assad — long accused of human rights abuses — fled to Russia.

In the lead-up to Wednesday’s meeting with al-Sharaa, Trump announced that he would lift the sanctions against Syria put in place during al-Assad’s leadership, a development that al-Sharaa’s government praised as an economic boon and a step towards stability.

On Wednesday, al-Sharaa joined Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for an in-person meeting, while Turkiye’s President Recep Erdogan joined by phone.

Trump “told President Al-Sharaa that he has a tremendous opportunity to do something historic in his country”, according to a read-out from the White House. He also encouraged Syria to expel “foreign terrorists” and “Palestinian terrorists” from its borders, as well as normalise relations with Israel.

The read-out added that al-Sharaa said he shared the US’s interests in “countering terrorism and eliminating chemical weapons”. He also encouraged the US to invest in Syria’s petroleum sector.

Later, as he boarded Air Force One for Qatar, reporters asked Trump to share his first impressions of al-Sharaa.

“Great. I think very good. Young, attractive guy. Tough guy. Strong past. Very strong past. Fighter. He’s got a real shot at pulling it together,” Trump replied.

A red-carpet arrival in Qatar

Pomp and circumstance have greeted Trump throughout his Middle East trip so far, and his arrival in Qatar was no exception.

Even before Air Force One touched down in the Qatari capital of Doha, the pageantry of the visit — Trump’s first international tour of his second term — was on full display.

As he entered Qatar’s airspace, White House Communications Adviser Margo Martin posted video online of F-15 fighter jets on either side of Air Force One, “providing honorary escort” to the president.

A red carpet greeted Trump as he touched down in Qatar. The country’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was on hand to welcome him. And a ceremonial guard, riding atop white horses and camels, trotted alongside his motorcade as he was transported to the site of his state visit.

“We’re extremely honoured to have you here. We’re very excited, very happy. It’s a historic visit,” Al Thani said. “I don’t know if you know that you’re the first American president to officially visit Qatar. So we’re very honoured.”

Al Jazeera’s White House correspondent Kimberly Halkett, who has been following the US president’s journey, said the opulence of Trump’s tour so far has been a selling point to his domestic audiences.

“ Americans loved the pomp and pageantry. They found it interesting to see the state dinner with the camels and to see some of the tea and coffee ceremonies,” Halkett said.

Even Trump marvelled at the decor inside the Amiri Diwan, the government centre of Qatar, calling the marble “perfect-o”.

A deal to boost trade and defence

Trump’s White House has described the president as the “dealmaker in chief”, and each stop so far on his four-day tour has culminated in the announcement of a major business deal with the US.

Wednesday’s visit to Qatar was no exception.

The White House announced that the US and Qatar had inked deals worth at least $1.2 trillion, including a major transaction which would see Qatar Airways buy 210 aircraft from the US company Boeing.

That deal alone was worth $96bn, according to a government fact sheet. Still, that was an adjustment downward from a higher figure Trump mentioned during the trip, $200bn.

“It’s the largest order of jets in the history of Boeing. That’s pretty good,” Trump said as he signed documents alongside Emir Al Thani.

In a gesture to his fellow leader, Trump added: “ We’ve been friends for a long time, long before politics.”

Other parts of the deal included purchases of drone and anti-drone technology from US defence companies like Raytheon and investments in the US energy sector.

“I think, after signing these documents, we are going to another level of relationship between Qatar and the United States,” Al Thani said, thanking Trump.

Democrats criticise conflicts of interest

But back in the US, Trump’s stop in Qatar continued to raise eyebrows among his critics, particularly in the Democratic Party.

The weekend before his trip, Trump faced controversy over reports that his Department of Defence would accept a luxury Boeing jet worth $400m from Qatar, dubbed a “palace in the sky”.

Such a gift would have been one of the largest in the history of the presidency. And critics warned it raised ethical and legal concerns, given the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause, which prohibits the federal government from accepting gifts from foreign governments without prior approval from Congress.

Still, Trump defended the idea on social media. He called the plane a “GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE” that was made “in a very public and transparent transaction”.

He also walked back media reports that he would use the aircraft as personal transport after leaving office. Sources indicated the plane was likely to be decommissioned after Trump left office and sent to his presidential library.

Ultimately, in Wednesday’s meeting with Emir Al Thani, the jet was not mentioned. It is unclear whether the exchange will continue.

The Democratic National Committee nevertheless announced it planned to fly a banner over Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida to coincide with his Qatar visit, emblazoned with the phrase “Qatar-a-Lago”.

Journalists on Air Force One pressed the president about another potential conflict of interest.

One reporter asked Trump about a deal that would see an investment firm in the United Arab Emirates — the next stop on his tour — buy large sums of cryptocurrency from a company run by his family. The deal is reportedly worth $2bn.

“I really don’t know anything about it,” Trump replied. “But I’m a big crypto fan. I will tell you, I’ve been that from the beginning, right from the campaign. I’m a believer in crypto.”
