Paddy McGuinness’ new money making project as he cashes in after expensive divorce

Christine and Paddy McGuinness first announced they were going their separate ways back in 2022 as they shocked the nation with their split

Paddy McGuinness has reportedly got a new money making project up his sleeve as he cashes in after going through an expensive divorce. Christine and Paddy split back in 2022 but it seems that the TV star now has a new job to make some money after the divorce.

It was reported in October 2024 that Paddy would be keeping the pair’s £2.5million mansion after the divorce was finalised. It was also said that Christine is in the midst of paying off the £300,000 split.

However, Paddy is now focusing on work as he tries to top up his bank balance. The Top Gear presenter is expected to go on a comedy tour for his latest project.

A source told The Sun: “It’s no secret that Paddy’s comedy tour, over the past year, has been a huge success. “It was expected to do well but it was a long tour that went extremely well sales wise night after night… every venue was rocking.

“Most venues had waiting lists of people who wanted to come but couldn’t get in which is very rare in the industry at the moment. Obviously the tour promoter did very well out of it so everyone their side is very keen for Paddy to replicate that again perhaps as soon as possible. There aren’t many comedy acts that can sell venues as fast as that so when a hit comes along the industry is keen to pounce on it and get more shows booked in.

“Importantly, Paddy also had a blast writing and performing the show although whatever tour comes in the future, as with the last one, it needs to work around his schedule with his kids which is why he drove straight home after a lot of the gigs. Everyone is hoping he’ll sign up again and rival tour promoters are banging down his door to try and get involved.”

Christine and Paddy share three children together – Leo and Penelope and daughter Felicity. The family live in their seven-bedroom house in Cheshire which features a gym and swimming pool.

It was reported that Christine has been reluctant to move house as she wants stability for her children, all of who have been diagnosed with autism. Christine has been open in recent years about her children’s diagnosis with autism, as well as her own.

She was diagnosed in 2021 alongside her three children, and has since become an advocate for neurodiversity. She has shared how her diagnosis has changed her life and how it has helped her understand herself and her children better.

The Mirror have contacted Paddy and Christine’s reps for comment.

Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix

Venue: Imola Dates: 16-18 May Race start: 14:00 BST on Sunday

Oscar Piastri led Lando Norris to a McLaren one-two in first practice at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

Less than a 10th of a second covered the top five cars, as Williams driver Carlos Sainz took third place ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton.

The session was brought to a premature end two minutes before the scheduled end when Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto crashed at the second Rivazza corner.

The Brazilian lost control at the right-hander, effectively the last corner on the lap, when he got a snap of oversteer mid-corner. The car flicked into the barriers pretty much front-on and damaged his front wing and nose.

Alpine’s Pierre Gasly was sixth fastest from the Red Bull of reigning champion Max Verstappen.

Red Bull have some upgrades on the car, including a revised side-pod shape and radiator inlet, but Verstappen was complaining of a lack of rear grip over the radio as he lapped 0.36secs off the pace.

The demands of the old-school Imola circuit caught out a number of drivers, as Hamilton and his team-mate Charles Leclerc were among those who ran wide or bounced over the kerbs at one of the three chicanes that populate the historic track.

Another was Williams’ Alex Albon, who was eighth fastest ahead of the Saubers of Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg.

Lance Stroll, driving a heavily upgraded Aston Martin as the team seek to improve their performance after a poor start to the year, was 11th fastest.

St Helens display ‘shows backing for Wellens ‘

SWPIX

Australian import Tristan Sailor says St Helens’ comprehensive Super League win over Catalans Dragons is evidence Saints are playing for head coach Paul Wellens.

Pressure has ramped up on club legend Wellens after a sticky patch form-wise which saw Saints lose to rivals Wigan, Warrington and old foes Leeds.

But Sailor was one of the stars as they tore into the Dragons on Thursday night, Saints scoring seven tries without reply in a 40-0 thrashing as teenage half-back George Whitby picked up a hat-trick.

“It takes a lot of resilience to get through what he was copping and our performances – he cops the brunt of it,” Sailor told BBC 5 Sports Extra.

“We’re always behind Paul and I think it shows his resilience has reflected on us, and hopefully we can keep that moving forward.

“We’ve obviously had a bit of a rough start, had a few close losses and for the past couple of weeks haven’t been at our best but the boys were awesome.

Wing switch pays off for Sailor and Saints

One of the conundrums Wellens has had to deal with this season has been involving all of his pivot options in a system that complements the team, with Sailor, Whitby, captain Jonny Lomax and Jack Welsby all flitting between positions in a bid to find the right rhythm.

Thursday’s move to the wing, a position Sailor has covered before, brought the best out of the former Brisbane Broncos and St George Illawarra flier, and allowed Welsby, Lomax and Whitby the space to create in the spine.

“I loved it, one of my strengths is that I can play a lot of positions and sometimes dynamic-wise you have to move to fit in,” Sailor added.

“It worked really well, I enjoyed getting to run the ball and do a lot of talking.

How Hansi Flick’s Barcelona Wrestled La Liga Back From Real Madrid

Barcelona clinched the Spanish title on Thursday for the 28th time in the club’s history, but only the second occasion in the last six years.

Hansi Flick’s hugely entertaining side beat Espanyol 2-0 to take the crown with two matches to spare.

AFP Sport breaks down the ways the German coach helped the Catalan giants reclaim the Spanish throne from arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Awesome Attack

Flick’s thrilling attacking outfit this season have shredded nearly every side to cross their path.

Barcelona scored 97 goals in 36 games to power to the title, 23 more than second-placed Real Madrid.

A 7-0 thrashing of Valladolid in August set out their intentions, and they hit four goals or more in 13 league matches.

The brilliant Lamine Yamal, still only 17, excelled, feeding veteran striker Robert Lewandowski and dynamic winger Raphinha.

The Brazilian, who Flick convinced to stay at the club, had his best ever season and credits his coach with changing his career.

Yamal provided the most assists in Spain with 13, while Lewandowski notched 25 goals and Raphinha got 18 while setting up nine himself.

Flick’s high defensive line has been a key feature of the team’s approach, which sometimes costs them at the back, but largely keeps opponents under pressure, including Madrid in last weekend’s Clasico.

“For 24 minutes Real Madrid didn’t touch the ball in our half… how we press them when they have the ball, it’s unbelievable… we can be very proud of that,” said Flick.

Mentality shift

Flick’s predecessor Xavi Hernandez made every excuse under the sun — and even including the sun — last season as Barcelona failed to win a single trophy.

This year the Catalans claimed a domestic treble and Flick has largely insisted on avoiding blaming external factors when his team has struggled.

That helped Barcelona players realise that what they achieve, or not, is up to them and has given them the strength to turn around adverse situations.

Barca have pulled off several impressive comebacks this season, including from two goals down against Real Madrid to triumph 4-3 in the most recent Clasico on May 11.

“The team’s mentality is incredible,” said Flick after securing a fourth Clasico victory from four meetings this season.

Furthermore, the team no longer looks weighed down by expectations or pressure and instead are focused on enjoying themselves on the pitch — contributing to their attractive, flair-filled football.

Perfect Pedri

Pedri Gonzalez has a strong case for being the world’s best midfielder right now, and after injury-ravaged years, his staying fit for the whole season has been vital for Barca.

“For me, Pedri is absolutely incredible — I’m on my knees for him,” said former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger.

The Canary Islander, 22, has been the heartbeat of Flick’s Barca, both in an attacking sense but also defensively, given the team operates without a holding midfielder following injuries to Marc Bernal and Marc Casado.

Pedri’s lithe form and quick-thinking allows him to get out of trouble quickly and helps Barca spring forward on the counter.

Levels raised

Flick boosted Barcelona’s fitness levels and confidence across the board and his faith in players who struggled last season has been paid back in spades.

The German insisted on keeping Eric Garcia and the centre-back has impressed when given opportunities, even playing out of position.

Ferran Torres has helped the stellar forward trio rest and is the team’s third top goalscorer and third top assist provider in La Liga.

Most importantly, Inigo Martinez struggled last season but has been a cornerstone of the defence alongside teenager Pau Cubarsi, becoming a true leader.

Winter blues bounce-back

(Photo by Pierre-Philippe MARCOU / AFP)

Despite an excellent start to the season, in November and December last year, Barcelona slumped.

The Catalans won just once in a seven-match spell in that period, losing against minnows Leganes and Las Palmas at home.

Their lead crumbled, with Atletico usurping them after beating Barca just before Christmas.

Flick took action, deploying the fit-again Frenkie de Jong in midfield over Casado and installing Wojciech Szczesny in goal in place of Inaki Pena.

Barcelona came back strongly and went on a run of 24 matches unbeaten over all competitions to get back in the driving seat for the title.
