The album title has a deeper meaning

The title to Jade’s new album alludes to her time in the music industry. Jade hasn’t held back her opinions when it comes to the music industry, and has spoken candidly about her experiences during her time in Little Mix. As reported by the BBC, she described it to be “brutal” and “savage”, especially for young, solo artists, saying that the industry can feel like a non-stop machine making process.

During an interview with KISS FM about her upcoming album, she also said: “I’ve known the title since I first did like my first session for this album. Yeah, I knew straight away what I wanted to call it so…”

Her boyfriend is set to feature

Jade has been in a happy relationship with Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens. Speaking to Hits Radio during an interview in March 2025, she revealed that he would be featuring on the album in interlude. Jade said of their collaboration: “I want to do this anyways… Just like an interlude in the album.

“So I brought him in because he’s got such a good talking voice, and he just says so many lovely things,” she continued. “He’s just got such a way with words, you know, he’s a great poet.”

She also mentioned that he would be collaborating on a song inspired by she had dream about cheating. Jade explained: “The concept came from me having a nightmare about Jordan cheating on me, and then I woke up in the morning, I was fuming with him. I just needed a minute to get myself together, and be like ‘babe that wasn’t real’.”

Prince Harry and Meghan’s feud with Beckhams left David ‘absolutely furious’

Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz recently enjoyed dinner with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at a property in Montecito home in California, it emerged this week

David Beckham was “absolutely furious” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their bitter feud, it is today claimed.

The former England footballer became angry when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex accused he and Victoria of leaking stories about them to the press. The feud has now resurfaced in the media as it emerged Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz had dinner with Harry and Meghan in Montecito, California – amid Brooklyn’s explosive controversy over missing his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations.

It is now reported David and Victoria, 51, had no knowledge of Brooklyn and Nicola’s soirée with Harry and Meghan, with whom they were very close. Posh and Becks were even on the guest list for the royal wedding in 2018, it is understood. Things turned sour after Harry and Meghan left the UK for a new life in California and, in 2022, the couple were nowhere to be seen when Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot.

David remains angry about the allegations, it is said. A source told Mail Online: “Brooklyn knows how hurt David and Victoria were when Harry and Meghan accused them of briefing stories about them. David, who is very mild mannered, was absolutely furious.”

It was reported Victoria had lent Meghan her all-important little black book of her favourite hairdressers and stylist in London Further details of their friendship were then shared in the press, which sparked the row between the four. The insider continued: “Victoria was especially good to Meghan in the beginning and it all got thrown back in her face.”

But Brooklyn, a 26-year-old model, is understood to have bonded with Prince Harry at the dinner on Wednesday. Harry reportedly offered Brooklyn his “unwavering support” amid the fall-out with his own parents and siblings. The function wasn’t just the two couples, though, as approximately 20 of Harry’s friends were invited.

“I am reliably informed [it was] a much larger gathering hosted by Brian Robbins, 61, the CEO of television giant Paramount and Nickelodeon, and his wife Tracy, 49, who are neighbours of Harry and Meghan in Montecito,” writes showbusiness editor Katie Hind for the Daily Mail today.

“Far from an intimate occasion, there were more than 20 people at the party, held at the Robbins’ vast, $17 million, six-bedroom villa, with its 4,500 bottle wine cellar and 88ft swimming pool.”

It may be little comfort to Victoria and David, who is currently starring in football chat show Beckham & Friends Live on Paramount+. The an ardent royalist, who famously queued for 12 hours to pay his respects to the Queen as she lay in state, has kept his distance from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since the row. He does, however, maintain close links with Prince William and King Charles.

What is famine, and why is Gaza at risk of reaching it soon?

Half a million people in the Gaza Strip, or one in five Palestinians, are facing starvation.

The entire rest of the population is suffering from high levels of acute food insecurity, according to a recent report by the UN’s Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).

“The risk of famine in the Gaza Strip is not just possible – it is increasingly likely,” the IPC says.

For more than 73 days, Israel has blocked all food, water, and medicine from entering Gaza, creating a man-made crisis, with the IPC warning that famine could be declared any time between now and September.

(Al Jazeera)

What is famine and when is it reached?

Famine is the worst level of hunger, where people face severe food shortages, widespread malnutrition, and high levels of death due to starvation.

According to the UN’s criteria, famine is declared when:

  • At least 20 percent (one-fifth) of households face extreme food shortages
  • More than 30 percent of children suffer from acute malnutrition
  • At least two out of every 10,000 people or four out of every 10,000 children die each day from starvation or hunger-related causes.

Famine is not just about hunger; it is the worst humanitarian emergency, indicating a complete collapse of access to food, water and the systems necessary for survival.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), since Israel’s complete blockade began on March 2, at least 57 children have died from the effects of malnutrition.

What does starvation do to the body?

Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war. A report released by Doctors of the World (Medecins du Monde) this week states that in just 18 months, acute malnutrition in Gaza has risen to levels similar to those found in countries enduring protracted humanitarian crises spanning several decades.

Starvation is when the human body is deprived of food for so long that it suffers and often dies.

Estimates say the body can last up to three weeks without food, but the length of time varies between individuals.

Starvation occurs over three stages. The first begins as early as when a meal is skipped, the second occurs with a prolonged period of fasting where the body uses stored fat for energy.

The third, and often fatal, stage is when all stored fats have been depleted and the body turns to bone and muscle as sources of energy.

The effect on children

Children are most vulnerable to Israel’s continued blockade of essential food items.

More than 9,000 children have been admitted to hospital for treatment for acute malnutrition since the start of the year, according to the United Nations.

The IPC projects that between now and March 2026, nearly 71,000 children under the age of five will suffer from acute malnutrition, including 14,100 children facing severe cases of malnutrition.

Interactive_Gaza_food_IPC_report_May13_2025-Gaza children acute malnutrition

The effect of malnutrition on children varies, but the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, which includes the pregnancy up to two years, are critical for a child’s healthy development.

Malnutrition leads to an out-of-proportion height-to-weight ratio, stunted growth and eventually, death.

Earlier this month, at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, in northern Gaza, Dr Ahmed Abu Nasir said the situation has become worse than ever due to the blockade.

“Children are in their growing stage and badly need certain nutrients, including proteins and fats,” the paediatrician told Al Jazeera. “These are not available in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the north.”

Pregnant and breastfeeding women will also need to be treated for malnutrition, with 17,000 women facing this risk.

‘Finding a single meal has become an impossible quest’

The entire population of Gaza, about 2.1 million people that remain, are facing levels of food shortages that threaten their existence.

Earlier this month, Ahmad al-Najjar, a displaced Palestinian in Gaza City, told Al Jazeera, “Finding a single meal has become an impossible quest.”

Despite large numbers of trucks carrying vital supplies piling up on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, Palestinians in Gaza have resorted to selling rubbish to afford the eye-wateringly inflated food prices.

Some 93 percent of Gaza’s population is at risk of levels of food insecurity above the crisis levels indicated by the IPC. If the situation does not change, the IPC has indicated that of those 2.1 million people:

  • 470,000 people (22 percent of the population) will face catastrophic levels of food insecurity – the most severe phase, which indicates famine, leading to starvation and death.
  • More than one million (54 percent) will face emergency levels of food insecurity, the second most severe phase where there is a high risk of critical malnutrition.
  • 500,000 people (24 percent) will face crisis levels of food insecurity, the third most severe IPC phase where households are dealing with inconsistent food consumption to the point of resorting to extreme measures to secure food.

In essence, in as little as a month, Gaza’s entire population could be starving.

The features of malnutrition and starvation are unmistakable in Gaza, with severely underweight children and babies. In children, severe protein deficiency causes fluid retention and a swollen abdomen.

Interactive_Gaza_food_insecurity_May15_2025

Where in Gaza is most at risk?

Food insecurity across the Gaza Strip is severely affecting all areas of the blockaded enclave.

All 25 bakeries supported by the World Food Programme (WFP) closed at the beginning of April due to the lack of supplies, and food stocks for most of the 177 hot meal kitchens are reportedly exhausted.

Certain governorates are experiencing more severe levels of hunger. According to the IPC:

  • 30 percent of North Gaza is facing catastrophic levels of food insecurity, 60 percent are facing emergency levels, while 10 percent are facing crisis levels.
  • 25 percent of Rafah is facing catastrophic levels of food insecurity, 60 percent are facing emergency levels and 15 percent are facing crisis levels.

The IPC says Israel’s continued blockade “would likely result in further mass displacement within and across governorates”, as items essential for people’s survival will be depleted.

Today’s horoscope for May 16 as Taurus feels their patience wear thin

Today’s horoscope for May 16 sees one sign lose sight of their goals, as another can’t get a moment to themselves

Find out what’s written in the stars with our astrologer Russell Grant(Image: Daily Record/GettyImages)

It’s Friday, May 16, and one star sign deals with issues from colleagues, while another feels frustrated with changes.

There are 12 zodiac signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces – and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more.

These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From Aries through to Pisces, here’s what today could bring for your horoscope – and what you can do to be prepared.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

You can’t seem to get a moment to yourself. Your mood is up and down and your thoughts are all over the place. You’re thinking about relationships, social events and outside responsibilities and you can’t help wondering how you fit everything in.

Taurus (Apr 21 – May 21)

A number of issues that arise early on will keep you on your toes. Working with a large group of people will be frustrating for a few different reasons. Differences in opinions cause arguments and tension. If you sense your patience is wearing thin, step outside and distance yourself from it all.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

Disagreements behind the scenes will pull you away from your primary goals. One issue is that a person who loves to argue just can’t seem to hold back their opinions. If you can lose yourself in a personal task or hobby, you will find it easier to handle setbacks and challenges.

Article continues below

Cancer (June 22 – July 23)

You enjoy a little friendly rivalry but not when it gets to a point where someone is being dishonest and deceitful. The behaviour of a new colleague is making you more cautious than normal. When discussions turn to money, remember to keep friendships and finances separate.

Leo (July 24 – Aug 23)

You are among a growing group of people who are feeling frustrated by changes happening around you. The services you once depended on are being reduced. A local journalist is taking notice of a campaign which aims to improve your neighbourhood and enhance the quality of life for everyone.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sept 23)

An unexpected offer will be received and this will give you something exciting to anticipate. It will also make you feel slightly anxious but you are determined to look on the bright side. Your positive energy is contagious and as the day goes on, you will get closer to reaching a cherished goal.

Libra (Sept 24 – Oct 23)

You’ve always been generous and giving. It pleases you to give gifts as much as it pleases your family and friends to receive them. Even so, splashing out on an expensive item for a partner might backfire. It could come across, today, as if you are trying to buy their affection.

Scorpio (Oct 24 – Nov 22)

It doesn’t matter what other people think. You don’t need permission to do what you want to do. Let go of the need to please others and think about pleasing yourself. Arguments take it out of you emotionally. Take some time later to relax and recharge.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 – Dec 21)

A lot of your time will be focused on your personal and social goals, with a sprinkle of good fortune thrown in to keep it all enjoyable. There’ll be a spirit of cooperation in everything you do. Juggling multiple projects will ensure a bright and promising future.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20)

Career matters are progressing well. You can expect to make advancement towards a professional goal even if at times you are sidetracked by fun activities. A surprise invitation will add some excitement to your off-duty hours. A playful romance will keep you entertained tonight.

Aquarius (Jan 21 – Feb 19)

After a long spell of focusing on other people, their needs and how to keep everyone happy, you’re ready to think about yourself. A new chapter is starting. You feel inspired to share your love of music and art with someone you love. You appreciate the joys of life’s finer experiences.

Princess Andre attended the ‘Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning’ premiere in London on Thursday night, appearing on the Leicester Square red carpet alongside her father Peter Andre and brother Junior Andre.

The 17-year-old daughter of Katie Price wowed the crowds in a red off-the-shoulder maxi dress, which she accessorised with layered necklaces, a charm bracelet, and multiple rings.

She complemented her jewellery with a silver clutch as she posed in front of photographers, just a day after posing for a picture with her new driving licence.

Princess chose to wear her hair straight and opted for a natural makeup look for the major Hollywood premiere.. Meanwhile Peter, 52, and brother Junior, 19, attended in classic black suits for the event, with the family taking pictures in front of a Mission Impossible prop plane before heading in to see the movie.

The Andres attended for what is set to be the last-ever Mission Impossible film, with ‘The Final Reckoning’ rolling out across UK cinemas on May 23. The blockbuster has been beset by lengthy, costly, delays.

Yet the film, which the Mail reports cost nearly $400 million to make, has also been met with widespread praise. Critics have described the action flick as “astonishing,” with one reviewer describing it as the “action film of the summer.”

Many have highly praised 62-year-old Tom Cruise’s typically high-intensity performance, which translates well in the expansive IMAX format, giving the star more space on screen to show off the film series’ usual insane stunts and action scenes.

Cruise is renowned for pulling off his own high-octane stunts in the Mission Impossible series, with the final instalment being no different. Despite being in his 60s, in one ‘Final Reckoning’ stunt the Hollywood star can be seen dangling from a helicopter, thousands of feet above the ground.

He then drops from the aircraft, falling backwards towards the earth.

Film critic Anthony Gagliardi heaped praise on the series’ final instalment, writing: Tom Cruise defies all odds with jaw-dropping action built only for Imax.
