Ed Sheeran suffers a fall on stage during first gig of European tour

Ed Sheeran left red-faced after colliding with his teammates on the opening night of his Mathematics Tour in Madrid, which attracted acclaim from BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Ed Sheeran’s European tour kicked off on a rather flat note… and that is not referring to his vocals. The Grammy-winning star took a spectacular tumble on stage in front of thousands of fans during his performance in Madrid on Friday night.

At 34, Ed has managed to sell out two concerts at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, which can accommodate over 70,000 fans when filled to capacity. Luckily for Ed’s international fans, they can still join in the fun each night thanks to the internet, but unfortunately for the star, this also means his embarrassing moments are immortalised.

Videos taken by those present at the concert show Ed energetically sprinting onto the stage and doing a lap, urging fans to clap before his next song. However, his enthusiasm seemed to get the better of him, resulting in Ed ending up face down on the floor.

Being the professional he is, he quickly got up and started strumming his guitar as if nothing had happened, laughing off the mishap. As fans behind their cameras also giggled, Ed shook his head, launching into his 2017 Divide album hit Castle on the Hill.

One fan made a joke about the gig on X about the incident in response to clips of the incident, “He had to be iconic from the beginning.” Another person expressed, “I hope he’s okay, he’s so cute.” A third person wrote, “LOL, it’s starting well,” while a fourth person wrote, “Poor thing, he’s excited, leave him alone”!

After his record-breaking gig, Ed shared a video on Instagram where he basked in the applause from the packed stadium, visibly overwhelmed and emotional.

First return for mathematics in a long time, he wrote in heartfelt caption. I’m not sure how to explain why, but I sometimes feel like I have this low self-assurance when I release music. I’m reminded of how much I love what I do, how connected these songs are, and how much I appreciate you guys for giving me this feeling since I was 11 years old.

He continued, “I enjoy traveling and capturing these moments with you.” Thank you for making me feel so loved to Madrid, it was an incredible night and experience. I’ll see you tomorrow, x.

Ed’s 2025 Mathematics Tour will see him play in 13 European countries this summer, with the set including his biggest tunes as well as tracks from his upcoming album Play, which lands in September.

The hitmaker’s popularity is clearly showing no signs of dipping, as he also sent fans wild with a surprise show last weekend.

Following rumours of a ‘big name’ taking to the stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool, Ed showed up on the New Music Stage on Saturday afternoon, saying he chose the stage because he’d ‘never played it before’ and the tent had ‘the best energy’.

Ed’s set was so popular that access to the tent had to be temporarily restricted as it reached maximum capacity. Also performing at Big Weekend was Stargazing singer Myles Smith, who is supporting Ed on his tour.

Ed first made his music debut in 2011 and has since sold more than 200 million records worldwide.

He recently discussed his plans for the future and said he would call it quits after releasing 10 distinct studio albums in the style of Quentin Tarantino. On Jimmy Fallon’s talk show, Ed shared his interest in Tarantino, who he claimed was producing 10 movies along with side projects like Grindhouse. “I wanted to do 10,” he said.

With titles like Plus, Multiply, Divide, Subtract, and Equals, Ed’s first collection of albums incorporated a mathematical theme.

He has been harboring this idea since he was 18 and has since decided to include Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop. The father-of-two tied the knot with Cherry Seaborn in 2019 and is also actively working on a life-spanning album that is scheduled to be released posthumously.

Witness Accusing Sean Combs Of Sexual Assault Defends Online Posts Of ‘Great Times’

On Friday, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attacked one of the women who had been accused of sexual assault by the music mogul during his federal trial in New York with upbeat social media posts.

Is it accurate to say that Mr. Combs never made a flimsy, indiscreeted phone call to you? During questioning that included displays of her personal social media posts, lawyer Brian Steel addressed a former Bad Boys Records assistant who was also a witness.

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, questioned whether he would offer Combs, 55, a pardon during a press conference at the White House on Friday, saying, “I don’t know, I would certainly look at the facts.

Russell Brand, a comedian, pleads not guilty to rape and is facing sexual assault charges.

In a trial that is scheduled to run until the summer, the facts are still being worked out. It involves Combs’ relationship with his former flame, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.

Ventura provided more details about years of alleged abuse and coercive, drug-fueled sex marathons with “freak-offs” of male prostitutes earlier in the trial.

Mia described this week how her job from 2009 to 2017 turned into a nightmare as she attempted to care for Ventura after the attacks, tending to “busted lips,” “bruises,” and “a black eye” while battling Combs’ fits of rage.

According to Mia’s testimony on Thursday, Combs would advise her to “go take care of her” and that “we were not permitted” to leave until her injuries healed sufficiently to hide, he added.

She also described the agonizing and traumatic moments when she described how she personally experienced abuse, including rape, while working for Combs and gave a confession of her own.

Reality vs. Instagram

Steel confronted Mia with her social media posts on Friday, where she showed a much more positive picture of her working relationship with her boss.

She described Combs as an “extraordinary cultural phenomenon” and shared sweet messages about his birthdays on a courtroom screen that showed Mia’s Instagram posts.

Steel questioned how she could make posts about the man she currently accuses of sexual assault.

Mia responded, “Of course you post the good times.” Instagram serves as a way to express how wonderful your life was, even if it wasn’t entirely accurate.

After Mia read her posts aloud, Steel repeatedly questioned Mia’s assertions, to which Mia responded, “everything I said in this courtroom is true.”

Ask any advocate for abuse victims, and they will be able to explain it to you much more effectively than I am.

Mia testified on Thursday that Combs had a history of sexual violence against her, including at the artist’s 40th birthday party in New York and at his private Los Angeles residence.

Mia described one of the assaults as “I just froze, I didn’t react, terrified and confused.”

She claimed that “he was the king or the boss,” which was very powerful.

She continued, “This is years and years before social media, Me Too, or any other example of someone standing up for a powerful individual like him.”

Jurors will be able to determine whether the Grammy-winning artist and producer supported a criminal organization and sexual trafficking at the conclusion of the court’s proceedings.

French Open 2025

Location: Roland Garros, May 25 – June

Before her third-round French Open victory over Yulia Putintseva, Mirra Andreeva thanked a fan for giving her a “lucky charm.”

During her 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kazakh 32nd seed Putintseva, the Russian world number six had a small, colorful fabric patch with floral patterns on her bench.

“A little girl put a drawing on my bench while I was out on the court, and I kept it.” The 18-year-old described her as having “my lucky charm.”

“I want to thank that little girl because it’s my lucky charm wherever she is.”

Andreeva, who defeated Jasmine Paolini in the semi-finals last year, is in her third French Open appearance.

Before a brief spell of rain, Andreeva broke Putintseva’s serve three times in the first set and once more for a 2-1 lead in the second.

Putintseva briefly jumped out to take the lead with a score of 3-2 after the players left, but Andreeva won the next four games to advance to the fourth round, where she will face Daria Kasatkina, a close friend.

Paula Badosa, the 10th seed, defeated Kasatkina 6-1 7-5 in her first Grand Slam since moving from Russia to Australia.

In their third-round match, third-round champion Marketa Vondrousova defeated third-seeded Jessica Pegula 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

The American, who previously did not play in the clay-court Grand Slam, is attempting to reach the quarter-finals in Paris.

Craig David’s health battle left him in ‘dark place’ as he felt ‘life wasn’t worth living’

Craig David became a pin-up for most women around the world during his hey day as an award winning music artist. And it wasn’t just his catchy songs that earned him a legion of fans, his sculpted appearance also played a major part.

However, it has now become clear that his obsession with exercise soon became ingrained in his desire to keep his body toned. He was in the brink of depression in 2017 due to his intense exercise regimens, which led to a serious back injury.

The 44-year-old singer’s body fat percentage was only 4.5% at the peak of his intense workouts.

A man under the age of 40, as he was at the time, has between 8 and 20% of his body fat, according to the World Health Organization.

A body fat percentage of less than 6 percent is typical for an athlete at the height of their career.

Craig claimed in a recent interview that his social life was greatly impacted by his obsession because he avoided seeing friends.

He claimed that he was canceling a date night out with friends because he was like, “Oh, I’ve got to do my cardio tonight. That was a life, what was it? I don’t build things, I’m not.

After that, Craig became depressed after suffering a terrible back injury in 2017, making it impossible for him to continue his workouts. A degenerative disc was involved in the music star’s injury.

Recalling his injury he told the publication: “My world was closing in. I needed to get rid of the pain and I went to a dark place where I thought, ‘I don’t think I’m going to make it.'”

Craig soon grew out of control, and despite not having suicide thoughts, he felt depressed and as though he had nothing to live for.

He continued, “I never got to the point where I was considering ways to end this, but I believed life wasn’t worthwhile living and that I would be happier if I wasn’t here anymore.”

The singer is now practicing celibacy and has changed his life. The author also has a book called What’s Your Vibe, which dispels the myth that celebrity life is “glitzy and perfect.”

He has also shared details of his battle with his body image when he appeared in the BBC documentary Imposter Syndrome. While appearing on the programme, he opened up on how he’d ended up experiencing body dysmorphia.

He claimed in the documentary that he was only about 4.5% body fat, and that he still wonders if it can be reduced. This is a very body-building lifestyle.

However, as I sit here, I feel like I have to turn to the shoulder of the little child who is carrying a little weight and say, “You have always had everything you could have ever wanted.” Never did the body matter.

England rugby star’s conversion challenge for ill dad

More than 1,600 conversions were completed by an England rugby player in 24 hours to raise money for the treatment of her late father.

Ella Cromack, a member of the Harlequins and England U20s, faced a challenging task because her father, Simon, had been given a brain tumor that was incurable in November 2023.

Mr. Cromack, from Ashampstead in Berkshire, has had to travel to Germany for regular glioblastoma treatment that isn’t offered on the NHS.

The 20-year-old fly-half kicked the first kick at Harlequins’ Twickenham Stoop Stadium on Friday at 12:00 BST.

“I have got everything crossed for her because she’s an incredible person,” said Mr. Cromack, “I think it’ll be incredibly emotional but also very fun at the same time.”

He claimed that because of the cost, the treatment he was receiving was not offered by the NHS.

However, he added that “at the same time, it’s very good in the sense that they give us exactly what we need]in Germany.”
