Australia’s Min Woo Lee claimed his first PGA Tour win with victory at the Houston Open in a dramatic finish.

Lee was leading by three shots on 21 under from Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland when he put his tee shot into the water at the par-five 16th and carded a bogey.

Woodland finished with an eagle and two birdies from his final four holes to equal the course record of 62 and set the clubhouse lead at 19 under.

World number one Scheffler, playing in the penultimate group, had a chance to take a share of the lead on the 17th but missed a putt for a fifth consecutive birdie – and also ended on 19 under after a final-round 63.

Lee needed a par on the 18th to secure victory and managed it, holding his nerve to card a 67 and finish one shot clear on 20 under.

“It’s hard, really hard”, said Lee, 26, after his triumph. “Scottie is a wonderful golfer and he keeps you on your toes.

” This is my first time being in front and trying to hold a lead. I’m glad I got it done, but man, I’m just very exhausted.

“It was a lot of mental grind. I’m so proud of the way I handled myself”.

Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy produced an impressive six-under-par round of 64, which included an eagle, six birdies and a bogey, as he got to 15 under.

“It was a good week”, said McIlroy, who is hoping to complete a career Grand Slam by winning the Masters at Augusta next month.

“I still feel like I’ve got some stuff to work on. Overall, a solid week and nice to have another week to get ready and fine tune my game for Augusta.

‘No further action’ – Kerr to remain Australia captain

Sam Kerr will remain as Australia captain after the country’s football association ruled out any further disciplinary action following the player’s court case.

Last month Chelsea striker Kerr was found not guilty of causing racially aggravated harassment after calling a Metropolitan Police officer “stupid and white” in an incident in Twickenham on 30 January 2023.

In a joint statement with Football Australia, after meeting members of the organisation’s board, 31-year-old Kerr expressed her “sincere regret for how events unfolded”.

Football Australia said it had “concluded that Kerr’s professional and sincere acceptance of responsibility, as well as her acknowledgment of the far-reaching implications of on and off-field actions, warranted no further action”.

“Knowing how Sam feels about the events, along with the additional context we’ve learned, has added vital perspective that the general public may not be aware of”, said Football Australia chairman Anter Isaac.

Kerr, who has not played since the end of 2023 after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament during training in January 2024, said: “I recognise that leadership means being mindful of our actions both on and off the pitch.

” I’m proud of the Matildas, the role I have played as a member of that team and everything we stand for, and I’m committed to learning from this experience.

“Moving forward, I’m focused on doing my part to ensure we grow even stronger together, and I look forward to having the opportunity of re-joining the team once I’m fit and ready”.

Kerr, who joined Chelsea in 2019, the same year she was named Australia captain, returned to individual training in January.

While not yet fit to play matches, she has joined the Matildas training camp for their upcoming friendly fixtures against South Korea.

A third fan shared: “Handsome little one thriving and healthy. God bless you”, as a fourth social media user posted “Doesn’t get sweeter”. A fifth commented: “Suns out buns out”.

The post came after Justin made a dig at “jobless people” trolling Hailey on social media earlier this month. Justin “liked” an Instagram post on Thursday, March 20 of Hailey Bieber wearing a Saint Laurent fur coat from 2017 and a screenshot of a text message that read, “Jobless people tearing Hailey Bieber apart”. He then posted the exact post in a captionless photo dump.

The next day, Justin posted a screenshot of a post from Hailey in 2019. In the throwback post, Hailey admitted to having “fears, anxiety, being sad, insecurities” and more.

Justin captioned the post: “Still relevant boo]flexed bicep and nail polish emojis]”. Hailey also shared the post with the face-holding-back-tears emoji.

Justin has recently opened up about how he is working on his “anger issues”. The Peaches singer shared a post to Instagram on March 22 where he candidly wrote:, “I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh”.

He shared the update alongside three images, which included a close up of his face with a hoodie up, a touching snap of himself as a young boy, and a picture of his baby son Jack Blues laying on a blanket in front of a projector screen. “

Meanwhile, Justin’s ex Selena Gomez dropped her new album I Said I Love You First earlier this week. The release – which sees her collaborate with fiancé Benny Blanco – immediately got fans talking as they speculated over one of the tracks being about Justin.

How Does It Feel to be Forgotten features the lyrics:” You’re so embarrassing / Go cry when no one’s watchin ‘ / I can’t imagine it / How does it feel to be forgotten (Ah), forgotten? (Ah-ah). “

Another line in the track sees the actress sing:” Cause you walked in, big-a– grin / Talkin ‘ like we’re friends, honey, what were you thinkin’? / He loves me, I love him / Look at you, just look at you now. “

Geri Halliwell inspired by George Michael’s influence on her blended family

Geri Halliwell has opened up on her close friendship with George Michael – who she lived with twice – and admitted she once ‘ tried flirting ‘ with the music icon

Spice Girl Geri Halliwell inspired by George Michael’s influence on her blended family

Geri Halliwell has talked candidly about the comfort she found in George Michael’s friendship, particularly over shared experiences of loss. The singer, 52, who shot to stardom with the Spice Girls in the late 90s, fostered a connection with the celebrated musician George – who passed away on Christmas Day 2016 at 53-years-old as both had endured the pain of losing a parent.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, she reflected: “I don’t think about]being noticed], I don’t see it. I learnt from George Michael how to deal with all that. He was an angel to me. He protected me from the minute we met. He’d lost his mother, I’d lost my father.

” And he was someone I could talk to openly about grief. We lived together twice and I’d play my music to him and he told me when I could do better. I tried flirting with him once, and it didn’t work, and I was like, ‘ What? ‘”.

Moreover, the ‘ Mi Chico Latino ‘ artist is wed to F1 honcho Christian Horner and together they have seven year old Monty, while Geri is also mum to 18 year old Bluebell Madonna, whose dad is Sacha Gervasi following a fleeting relationship.

Having transitioned from pop fame to becoming a children’s author, Geri disclosed — seemingly for the first time — while discussing her daughter’s love of literature, that her husband Christian has” formally adopted “Bluebell.

As Geri puts it:” You know Bluebell is studying English literature. She’s brilliant at writing. I run things past her. ]She got that from] her biological father, yes. Christian formally adopted her. It’s public knowledge. “

Geri opened up about her dynamic with Christian, to whom she said” I do “in 2015 following roughly a year and a half of courtship. The duo, she explained, is” quite silly “when they’re in their private abode.

She shared:” We’ll find a TV series that we lock into. I’ll try my best not to watch it when he goes away. I waited for him before finishing ‘ Severance’. We like playing games too. The other day, in the kitchen, we were playing 20 questions – you’ve got to guess what the object is. We’re quite silly. “

Next month the Wannabe star is hopping across the pond to promote her Rosie Frost children’s books. Geri recently took to Instagram to announce her plans to her 1.4 million followers with a list of the venues she’ll be visiting in April to promote the popular adventure series. Geri’s first stop is New York, followed by Philadelphia, St. Louis, Atlanta and Miami.

She was also papped at Cheltenham Festival earlier this month, looking gorgeous in a staple all-white ensemble. Sporting a floor-length cream coat and caramel-coloured Fedora hat, the star, who attended the event without her husband, flashed a huge grin for the cameras as she stepped out in style.

Minnie Driver has reportedly quit working on a British film over a payment dispute. The 55-year-old actress is one of an all-star cast in a forthcoming drama titled Angels in the Asylum – which is the directorial debut of documentary maker Rob Sorrenti.

The film is produced by Stephen Daldry the acclaimed Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning director of Billy Elliot. While Simon Pegg, Katherine Waterston, and Miriam Margolyes are also among the cast.

Keal Productions are behind the project – with the company previously helping produce the final episode of Gavin &amp, Stacey and also creating a documentary about Byker Grove. While UK-based production, sales and distribution outfit Parkland Pictures is listed as the distribution company for the project.

A synopsis of the film explains: “An original story inspired by real events surrounding a group of women who were incarcerated in a mental asylum for being typhoid carriers. These women were not mentally ill, but over time driven mad by their isolation. The story, set in London between 1932 and 1955, focuses on Mary, the only woman released from Long Grove Mental Asylum after her daughter’s eighteen-year ordeal to win her freedom”.

The film is inspired by a BBC Newsnight exposé on the women who were incarcerated at Long Grove Asylum in Surrey at the beginning of the 1900s. However, the production has been thrown into chaos amid reports that crew are owed wages totalling £600,000.

A source told The Sun: “They were told they would be paid. But this has gone on for weeks now and there is no pay. Minnie has left to go and work on another film. It’s chaos. Patience is wearing thin now, but really for most of the crew it wore out weeks ago”.

The Mirror has contacted representatives of Keal Productions and Parkland Pictures for comment. The Sun’s report has suggested that up to 70 crew members have experienced payment issues while working on the project.

The report suggests that some have not been paid so far – while it is also reported that production ground to a halt after 15 days. The shoot had been projected to last for a full month.

A statement released to the publication by the Managing Director of Keal Productions claimed producers had urgently been attempting to raise finances to pay workers and get filming back on track. While a spokesperson from Parkland Pictures expressed a belief that the project would continue at some point.

Screen Daily first announced the project in May last year – sharing the news that Simon and Katherine had been cast in key roles. The outlet reported at the time: “Katherine Waterston, Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver, Cush Jumbo, Rose Williams and Miriam Margolyes are to star in UK filmmaker Rob Sorrenti’s debut feature Angels In The Asylum”.

The report noted: “The UK shoot is set to begin in early 2025 around the Kent area, with Heather Greenwood, Marie-Elena Dyche and Charlotte Carey producing”.

And then added: “UK filmmaker Sorrenti built his career working on behind-the-scenes featurettes for films such as The Mummy, the Bourne films, Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Little Women. His credits also include TV documentary The Real Billy Elliot Diaries and short The Kodiak Queen, narrated by Kate Winslet”.
