Lisa Rinna reveals her mum was ‘brutally attacked’ by LA serial killer in knife frenzy

Lisa Rinna’s mum Lois was the first known attempted murder of David Carpenter – the Trailside Killer – as he assaulted her with a knife and hammer on a ‘ deserted road ‘ after persuading her into his car

Lisa Rinna has detailed the terrifying moment her mum was attacked with a knife and a hammer by serial killer David Carpenter, known as the Trailside Killer, in California. Carpenter was a co-worker of Lisa’s mum Lois, and was imprisoned for the attack before being released and continuing his violent spree.

Real Housewives star Lisa, 61, spoke about the attack with her husband Harry Hamlin on their joint podcast Let’s Not Talk About the Husband.

Speaking to the camera, she shared: “If you don’t know, my mum – when she was 30 years old – was brutally attacked by a serial killer. We didn’t know he was a serial killer at the time, but he turned out to be a serial killer”.

Lisa then explained that a producer was interested in Lois ‘ story, with Carpenter not having been covered in a film yet.

The Trailside Killer was convicted of seven murders and confirmed responsible for an eighth, but cops suspect he could have killed two more.

Lois – who sadly died in 2021 – was Carpenter’s first known attempted murder, for which he spent seven years behind bars. American Horror Story star Lisa described: “She worked with him. He stuttered, so she felt sorry for him but was always nice to him.

” Here’s what happened. She was at the bus stop. They lived in San Francisco. She didn’t have a car so she took the bus, and she was going to the dentist in the morning, maybe before work. David Carpenter drives up and says, ‘ Hi, Lois, can I give you a ride? I’d love for you to come see my new baby. ‘ He had a baby. He was married! “

Lois is said to have tried to turn the ride down, but Carpenter was adamant. “They start driving, and all of a sudden, she’s starting to feel weird, of course, because it didn’t feel right, and all of a sudden, he’s talking to her and he’s not stuttering. That’s when she knew,” Lisa said.

In a terrifying turn, Lisa recounted:” And she said, ‘ David, what’s going on? ‘ He said, ‘ I don’t know, Lois. Sometimes, something funny comes over me. ‘ And she knew she was f***ing cooked. “

The Entourage actress said that Carpenter drove her mum to a “deserted road in The Presidio” – a park in San Francisco.

Carpenter was behind bars for seven years after his attack on Lois, but murdered several people in brutal assaults after he was released

She shared:” He straddles my mom, my mom’s in the passenger seat, grabs a knife out of the glove box – all of a sudden he goes at her with a knife. She grabs it with her hand, so the knife’s coming at you and she grabs it, so she slices her two fingers, so they’re, like, dangling. “

Carpenter then started attacking Lois with a hammer, but in a life-saving turn, a military policeman was walking on the road she was being attacked on, and” shoots David Carpenter in the stomach. “

Lisa then described how her mum acted after the vicious attack”. This is the creepiest, weirdest part of it all. ]Lois is] in full-on shock. He hit her at least five times on the head with a hammer. Her fingers are dangling. Her purse spills out, she opens the car door somehow, her purse spills out and she’s so busy picking up the items to put back in her purse. Her head is, like, gushing blood. She’s totally in shock, but all she wants to do is put her things back into her purse. “

Lisa added that she herself went to support her mum in court when Carpenter was facing the death penalty. Lisa was just 21 when Lois gave her testimony, and Carpenter was placed on death row – but in 2019 had his sentence changed to life without parole when executions were halted in California.

James Bond to head in different direction under Amazon with ‘much younger stars’

Amazon MGM Studios, who recently took over the creative rights of the 007 movies, is reportedly looking to go a different direction with the iconic James Bond franchise

James Bond to head in ‘ different ‘ direction under Amazon with much younger stars

Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly planning on hiring the youngest ever James Bond for its upcoming 007 instalments. Last month, it was revealed that Amazon MGM Studios had agreed to a deal with the Broccoli family behind 007 and producer Michael Wilson would be taking over the creative rights of the movies.

Last week, it was announced Spider-Man and Harry Potter producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are to produce the next series in the James Bond franchise for Amazon MGM Studios. With the 007 movies taking a new direction, it was reported that Amazon bosses are hoping to cast a young James Bond – with the new instalment being set in the 50s and 60s.

They are said to be hoping to hire a 20-something actor for the prequels. A TV insider claimed Daniel Craig’s death in the previous 007 film ‘ is still fresh in the minds of fans’.

“They can’t just pretend it didn’t happen. So they’re now looking at his story as a younger man in a different era”, they added to The Sun.

Line Of Duty star Daniel Mays recently appeared on the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast and shared what he overheard about the upcoming movies.

He said: “I heard a rumour that they’re going to cast someone very young and go back to the origins. They’re going to back to the ‘ 60s and have all the retro cars and that sort of stuff — and start again. I think that would be kind of cool”.

After Amy Pascal and David Heyman were announced to produce the next film in the James Bond series, they said in a joint statement: “James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema.

” We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson who made so many extraordinary films and honoured and excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure. “

Amazon MGM Studios have agreed a deal with the Broccoli family behind 007 and producer Michael Wilson to take over the creative rights of the movies, in a move likely to end speculation over the future direction of the storied spy franchise.

However, Broccoli and Wilson will remain co-owners of the franchise. It comes following rumours over who may succeed actor Daniel Craig, who last portrayed the iconic James Bond in the 2021 movie, No Time To Die.

Some stars rumoured to join the franchise include the likes of Tom Holland, Leo Woodall, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Jacob Elordi – who wowed fans in his role in Saltburn.

The Mirror has reached out to Amazon for comment.

Sean Combs’ sexual assault lawsuit thrown out in latest court ruling

Sean Combs – also known as rapper P. Diddy – has had another lawsuit against him dismissed after a judge ruled that the anonymous plaintiff had failed to follow court orders

Sean Combs has had another lawsuit against him dismissed after a judge ruled the anonymous plaintiff failed to follow court orders

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Sean Combs, marking a legal win for him. The case was thrown out after the plaintiff failed to comply with a court order to reveal her real name. This marks the second lawsuit against Combs brought by attorneys Anthony Buzbee and Antigone Curis to be dismissed.

Combs ‘ legal team stated: “Today a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed against Mr. Combs by Texas attorney Anthony Buzbee and his local counsel Antigone Curis on behalf of an anonymized plaintiff. This is now the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety. It will not be the last.

” For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines than legal merit. The other claims, like the one dismissed today, also will not hold up in a court of law. “

Just last month, Combs faced a setback as his legal team dealt with a crisis. The disgraced music star is awaiting trail after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation and engaging in prostitution.

He was expected to be locked up until his trial kicks off on May 5, 2025. Combs has strongly denied all allegations. It was revealed last month that his lawyer Anthony Ricco stepped down from his legal team and issued a blunt statement.

Ricco said “under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs”, in a motion for withdraw of counsel filed in New York on Friday. The notice added that discussions were had with lead counsel Mark Agnifilo and Ricco before the motion was filed.

Ricco said he would be providing no details to support the application. He added that government prosecutors had been notified and didn’t take a stance.

The lawyer said him standing down would not result in a delay to the current schedule of a trial in May. Combs, 55, is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Combs pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a three-count indictment which accuses him of using his business, including Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport male and female sex workers across state lines for sexual activities known as “freak offs”.

A lawyer for the star has hit back at the accusations, telling The Mirror previously: “As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.

“That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.

” He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation. “

New Zealand Rugby and Ineos settle deal dispute

New Zealand Rugby and Ineos have reached a settlement agreement following their dispute over a sponsorship contract.

British-owned petrochemical firm Ineos, which holds a stake in Manchester United as part of its sport portfolio, walked away early from its sponsorship deal of New Zealand Rugby (NZR).

It was a move that led to legal action from the governing body.

On Monday, both parties issued a statement to say the issue has been resolved.

“New Zealand Rugby and Ineos can confirm that a settlement has been reached between the two parties”, the joint statement read.

“Whilst the details remain confidential, both organisations are satisfied with the outcome and acknowledge a desire to now move forward”.

Ineos, which is chaired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, agreed in 2021 to become performance partner of NZR from 2022 to 2027.

The deal included Ineos branding on the back of playing shorts and on the front of training jerseys for the nation’s teams, including three-time World Cup winners the All Blacks and six-time women’s world champions the Black Ferns.

However, NZR said in February that Ineos had “failed to pay the first instalment of the 2025 sponsorship fee, confirming its decision to exit our six-year agreement”.

Citing the struggling chemicals industry in Europe, because of “high energy taxes and extreme carbon taxes” along with “the deindustrialisation of Europe”, Ineos said in a statement at the time: “We have had to implement cost-saving measures across the business.
