
Members of Nigeria’s Super Eagles (class of 2024) have received their official certificates for national honors, title documents for housing allocations in Abuja or Lagos, and land grants in Abuja.
Following their second-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, which took place in January/February 2024, President Bola Tinubu gave the team the reward.
The delegation included the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, as well as other dignitaries from the brief ceremony held at the Team Hotel in Fez, Morocco, on December 22, 2025, including the Senate Committee Chairman for Sports Senator Abdul Ningi, the House Committee Chairman for Sports, Kabiru Amadu, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, SSA, President Nathan-Mash, Nigeria High Embassy officials, Saleh Amadu, and other dign

Dikko stated during the presentation that all players will receive MON, with the exception of Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa, who have received OON honors because they have MON earlier, while William Troost-Ekong is given MFR for having been named player of the tournament.
The NSC chief also confirmed that Tinubu’s approval of national honors, houses, and land allocations has been followed by the President’s pledge to honor excellence and provide national service.

He claimed that the president’s approval of the titles to the houses, national honors, and cash awards worth the equivalent of $100, 000 USD have been obtained using the title documents from the houses and national honors certificates that are currently on file for collection.
